The group believes that Americans want to redefine patriotism to include "progressive values."

In their new progressive system socialists, Marxists, Green activists and naked PETA protesters would score off the charts.

A wacky new lib organization took a poll on patriotism and actually believe Barack Obama's service in the South Chicago slums working with terrorist Bill Ayers would trump John McCain's years as a POW at the Hanoi Hilton.

A new public opinion survey released today as both Democrats and Republicans prepare for their national political conventions, finds that Americans are deeply dissatisfied with how America’s political leaders typically invoke patriotism, and shows a strong desire by the public for a new vision of patriotism that features more emphasis on the future, constructive change, and progressive civic values.

The poll, conducted by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner and commissioned by the True Patriot Network, also finds that while Senator John McCain is currently regarded as significantly more patriotic than Senator Barack Obama, Obama actually wins a hypothetical patriotism-centered debate with McCain, if Obama frames his agenda within a narrative of patriotism centered on progressive values.

Notice how the progressives would rather redefine patriotism than "change" their own behaviors and attitudes.

Far Left Nutjobs Attack Vets For Freedom Founder Dave Bellavia

Today the nuts at Think Progress slandered Vets For Freedom founder Dave Bellavia who they claim attacked Senator Chuck Hagel's military service:


During a segment today on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal, a caller questioned Bellavia about the group’s supposed attacks on Vietnam veteran Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE).

Dave Bellavia answered:

Chuck Hagel, he’s a proud American warrior. He’s a patriot. But show me what battle he fought in Iraq. A man’s war — You don’t question another man’s service. I will never attack a Vietnam veteran, like some of these other individuals have during this political season. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.

...Ma’am, I’ve served over a year and our organization is just stock-full of Purple Heart and Valor Award winners. We’ve seen the worst of this fight. There’s no propaganda here, ma’am. We love America. We want to win the war that our Congress sent us to fight. You don’t send Americans — men and women — to lose a war, to end a stalemate. You send them to win in a war, and that’s what we’re trying to do. And you know what? We’re closer today than we ever have been.

The part about "loving America" must have sent the moonbats over the top.
And, the fact that a pro-American Iraqi veteran would dare question an antiwar US senator was too just way too much for the nuts at Think Progress.
They call this "attacking one's military service."

Hillary Clinton's brother Tony Rodham attended a private function with a top McCain surrogate this week.

The Times Tribune reported:

A brother of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton and local Democrats who backed her unsuccessful presidential campaign socialized privately Monday with a top surrogate of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Arizona Sen. John McCain.

The private gathering featured Carly Fiorina, Mr. McCain’s top economic adviser, and took place at the Dunmore home of political consultant Jamie Brazil, a longtime friend of Mrs. Clinton’s family who has signed on as paid national director of Mr. McCain’s Citizens for McCain Coalition.

The attendees included Tony Rodham, Mrs. Clinton’s youngest sibling, his wife, Megan, and their two children; attorney Kathleen Granahan Kane, who coordinated Mrs. Clinton’s presidential campaign in Northeast Pennsylvania during the primary election; and Virginia McGregor, sister of Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty.

With the Democratic National Convention less than a week away, the gathering raises questions about the support Illinois Sen. Barack Obama can expect from former local supporters of Mrs. Clinton, who dominated at the polls in the Northeast in the April primary election. Mrs. Clinton won 74 percent of Lackawanna County Democrats to Mr. Obama’s 26 percent.

JWF says there's no need to worry. The Clintons are such loyalists to the party and would never do anything to undermine Barack Obama.

In celebration of this grand occasion Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad promised to dismantle Israel in the very near future.
The Iranian Republic New Agency reported:

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Wednesday advised the leaders of European countries and the US not to yield to the Zionists' demands and never count on their support because "We will witness dismantling of the corrupt regime in a very near future."

President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in the sixth conference held on the occasion of "World Mosque Week" in Tehran.

Mosques and friday prayers sermons are all aimed at organizing political and social developments in Islam, he said.

Mosques play pivotal role in connecting man with his Creator and no organization in the world can play such a significant role, he said.

The 9th government pays due attention to the significant role of mosques in the society, said President Ahmadinejad.

It was a lovely speech.

Madrid Plane Crashes On Takeoff-- 140 Dead (Video)

140 people were killed today when a plane at Madrid airport caught on fire and overshot the runway on takeoff.

The passengers were headed to the Canary Islands, a popular tourist spot.

The Times Online reported:

Some 140 people were killed today when a packed passenger jet caught fire and overshot the runway as it tried to take off from Madrid airport, official sources said.

The Spanair plane, with 173 passengers and crew aboard, crashed and broke apart as it tried to take off from Terminal 4 at the Barajas airport. It was heading for Las Palmas airport on the island of Gran Canaria.

The Reuters news agency quoted sources in the emergency services as saying that all but about 25 of those aboard had been killed - far ahead of initial death tolls given by officials.

The Mail said the plane broke in two.

Obama's Long Lost Brother Lives In Kenyan Slum Hut

We already know about Barack Obama's older brother Malik Abongo "Roy" Obama, who is a Luo activist and a militant Muslim. Malik argues that the black man must "liberate himself from the poisoning influences of European culture."

We also know about Barack's Muslim brother Bernard the son of Kezia Obama who married Barack Obama Sr. in Kenya in 1957 when she was a teenager (16) before he went to the US where he fathered Barack. Bernard was born after Barack Sr. came back to Africa.

The British media was able to track down Barack's brother Mark Ndesandjo the son of Barack Obama’s late father and his third wife, an American woman named Ruth Nidesand. Mark ran an illegal firm in China.

Now, the Italian press discovered Barack Obama's younger brother George in a slum hut in Nairobi.

The Italian edition of Vanity Fair said that it had found George Hussein Onyango Obama living in a hut in a ramshackle town of Huruma on the outskirts of Nairobi.

Mr Obama, 26, the youngest of the presidential candidate's half-brothers, spoke for the first time about his life, which could not be more different than that of the Democratic contender.

"No-one knows who I am," he told the magazine, before claiming: "I live here on less than a dollar a month."

According to Italy's Vanity Fair his two metre by three metre shack is decorated with football posters of the Italian football giants AC Milan and Inter, as well as a calendar showing exotic beaches of the world.

Vanity Fair also noted that he had a front page newspaper picture of his famous brother - born of the same father as him, Barack Hussein Obama, but to a different mother, named only as Jael.

He told the magazine: "I live like a recluse, no-one knows I exist."

Embarrassed by his penury, he said that he does not does not mention his famous half-brother in conversation.

"If anyone says something about my surname, I say we are not related. I am ashamed," he said.

You would think Barack could spare a couple bucks to lift his brother out of this horrid place considering Goerge's "rent" is only $1 a month.

The latest Reuters/Zogby Poll shows that John McCain took a 5-point lead over Barack Obama in the last month.

Obama lost ground among Democrats, women, Catholics and even younger voters this summer.

Zogby reported:

McCain leads Obama by a 46% to 41% margin.

And McCain not only enjoys a five-point edge in a two-way race against Obama, but also in a four-way contest including liberal independent candidate Ralph Nader and Libertarian Bob Barr, the poll reveals. In the four-way contest, McCain wins 44% support, Obama 39%, Barr 3% and Nader 2%.

The poll shows Obama losing voters to McCain in groups where Obama had bigger leads a month ago, such as Democrats, women and younger voters. Obama also lost ground among Catholics and Southerners.

McCain’s surge follows a month in which he has aggressively portrayed Obama as an out-of-touch elitist and celebrity not prepared to be President. McCain also continues to accuse Obama of being willing to lose in Iraq in order to win the election. While Obama was on vacation last week, McCain took the spotlight, talking tough about Russia’s military action against the Republic of Georgia.

The National Enquirer released new photos today of John Edwards, his mistress and his love child, Francis Quinn.
Here's the latest on the scandal from America's news leader:

The day prior to Edwards bombshell admission to an affair on ABC’s Nightline, Rielle Hunter and her 6 month old daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter, were flown out of the US onboard a chartered Learjet.

The private flight cost $50,000 and was paid for by Edwards’ pals. The Hunters were the solo passengers aboard the eight-hour flight.

Destination: St. Croix in the Virgin Islands!

THE ENQUIRER tracked Rielle to St. Croix where our reporters discovered Rielle and the baby stayed in a luxurious oceanfront home owned by controversial trial lawyer Lee Rohn, another close friend of Edwards.

When visited by an ENQUIRER reporter on August 15, Rohn snapped a terse “No comment!” when questioned about Hunter.

Former Virgin Island Senator Anne Golden confirmed to THE ENQUIRER that “within 24 hours of their arrival that they were here and staying with Lee Rohn.”

After the ENQUIRER discovered Rielle’s hideaway with Rohn, she was moved to a motel on the island before returning to Santa Barbara on August 17 according to another source.

An ENQUIRER reporter then saw Rielle back in her California home, which is being paid for by Edwards’ former finance chairman Fred Baron.

And Rielle now has an off-duty police officer guarding her house.

Edwards is not only aware of the hush money payoffs but orchestrated it with his team of former campaign advisors and now The ENQUIRER has discovered that a team of six more lawyers have been involved in the coverup and are funneling payments to Hunter, who has no money and no means of support.

The ENQUIRER has also learned that Hunter's own lawyer advised her to allow Edwards to take a paternity test but she refused out of misguided belief that Edwards will marry her after the death of his cancer-stricken wife Elizabeth.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is travelling ot Afghanistan tonight after 10 French soldiers were killed in an attack by the Taliban on Tuesday.
Despite the fact that two-thirds of France is opposed to French involvement in the conflict, Sarkozy says he will not cut and run and is committed to fight against terrorism.
The BBC reported:

President Nicolas Sarkozy is travelling to Afghanistan to support French troops a day after one of the deadliest attacks on French forces abroad.

Ten French soldiers were killed and 21 injured in an ambush by Taleban fighters east of the capital, Kabul.

Mr Sarkozy said France was committed to the fight against terrorism, and the mission in Afghanistan would continue.

France plans to send in 700 troops by the end of August, bringing its presence in Afghanistan to 2,600.

The French news agency AFP reported that Tuesday's deaths brought to 24 the number of French troops killed in Afghanistan since 2002.

The BBC's Emma-Jane Kirby, in Paris, says news of the deaths will provoke anger in France, where two-thirds of people say they are opposed to French involvement in the conflict.

The loss of life is thought to be the heaviest suffered by the French military since 58 paratroopers were killed in Beirut in 1983.

Mr Sarkozy said he was travelling to Kabul to assure French troops "that France is at their sides".

In a statement, he said France had "been struck severely" but that France was "resolved to pursue the fight against terrorism, for democracy and liberty".

You've got to hand it to Sarkozy-- If he were a Democrat he would have had the French troops yanked by now and he certainly would not be on a plane heading to the war zone.

Israel Matsav reported today on Barack Obama's standing with Jewish voters.

Not since George McGovern has a Democratic candidate been in worse standing with Jewish voters. In fact, as Michael Freund reported, Obama's numbers may be worse than the 1972 Democratic Presidential candidate:

57% is still a majority, but for a Democratic candidate it's not enough. The candidate who was beaten the worst in an American Presidential election - George McGovern - drew 64% of the Jewish vote to Richard Nixon's 33%. We all know who won the election. In 1984, Walter Mondale won 67% of the Jewish vote - and lost the election. The only candidate who did worse than McGovern was Obama's mentor, Jimmy Carter, who drew 45% of the Jewish vote in 1980 (and even then Ronald Reagan only won 39% - third party candidate John Anderson won 15%). Carter lost that election.

Do you suppose Obama's anti-semitic friends and pro-Hamas church have Jewish voters a bit concerned?

Islamists Force Cancellation of Avril Lavigne Concert

Avril Lavigne is too sexy to play in Malaysia.

Malaysian Islamists forced the cancellation of the Avril Lavigne concert that was scheduled 2 days before independence day.
The AP and Religion of Peace reported:

Malaysia on Tuesday canceled a concert by Canadian rock singer Avril Lavigne, saying it may taint the Muslim-majority country's independence day celebrations after the Islamic opposition slammed her show as being "too sexy."

The Arts, Culture and Heritage Ministry said it had decided not to permit Lavigne's show because it was unsuitable to Malaysian culture and could not be held on Aug. 29, two days ahead of independence day.

"It is not timely. It's not in the good spirit of our National Day. If we go ahead with the concert, it is contrary to what we are preparing for," said Shukran Ibrahim, a senior official from the culture ministry's department that vets all foreign artists.

The decision came after the youth wing of a fundamentalist opposition party, the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, called for the show's cancellation.

China Media Project posted two more articles from the China press (on top of the three previously mentioned articles) that report that He Kexin (何可欣)was too young:

A number of Chinese newspaper articles last year and early this year reported He’s age as 13. In trying to build a credible case for the gymnast’s eligibility, Chinese officials will find themselves denying a series of independent Chinese news reports.


The People’s Daily, which reported on November 3, 2007 (possibly the same source as the online Xinhua News Agency article) that “13 year-old He Kexin” successfully completed an uneven bar routine of high difficulty.

The article appeared at the top of page 7 of that day’s edition of People’s Daily, under the headline, “Cooly Awaiting the Achievements of our Newcomers.”

A separate news feature appeared on page 19 of Tianjin’s Jin Wan Bao introducing up and coming Olympic stars:

The first line identified her clearly as “13 year-old competitor He Kexin.”

After John McCain slammed the cut-and-runner during his talk at the VFW Convention yesterday, Barack Obama came before the group this morning and whined about unfair political tactics. This is after The One blasted McCain yesterday in a shameful attack on "his president" George W. Bush.

Obama also insisted he had not changed his position on Iraq:

Yesterday, Senator McCain came before you. He is a man who has served this nation honorably, and he correctly stated that one of the chief criteria for the American people in this election is going to be who can exercise the best judgment as Commander in Chief. But instead of just offering policy answers, he turned to a typical laundry list of political attacks.

He said that I have changed my position on Iraq when I have not. He said that I am for a path of “retreat and failure.” And he declared, “Behind all of these claims and positions by Senator Obama lies the ambition to be president” – suggesting, as he has so many times, that I put personal ambition before my country.

That is John McCain’s prerogative. He can run that kind of campaign, and – frankly – that’s how political campaigns have been run in recent years. But I believe the American people are better than that. I believe that this defining moment demands something more of us.

If there's one thing that Barack Obama is good at it's changing his mind.

Iraq Gets Automated-- Improved Security Brings Modern Conveniences

ATM machines spreading in Baghdad

ATM machines are gradually increasing their presence on the streets of the capital Baghdad. Iraqis use them daily to access cash in their checking accounts by using the ATM cards. The French news agency pointed out that the busiest ATM locations are in Kailani Plaza in central Baghdad which has much commercial activity. Baghdadis are eagerly accepting the use of these machines which are being placed inside market areas. The news agency printed a picture of a man using the ATM machine to withdraw funds from his checking account.



Some of the Iraqi banks have started supplying their customers with ATM cards, the rest of the banks have promised to supply ATM cards to their customers soon.

Haider Ajina comments:

The installation and spreading of ATM machines in Baghdad is a testament to the security situation in the Capital. I find it hard to believe that any one would risk installing ATM machines let alone use them if security around them is suspect. Even on the streets of small town USA we are cautious about getting cash from an ATM machine. Iraqis in Baghdad are feeling secure enough to walk up to a machine and withdraw cash in a public place. This is just another piece of evidence that the surge (operation Rule of law to Iraqis) was and is successful beyond many expectations.

AP Calls McCain VP Contender a "Prick"

The typo, in an article on the upcoming vice presidential picks due from McCain and Barack Obama and written by one of the top AP political scribes, Nedra Pickler, was soon corrected but can still be found viewed via Google at numerous news sites early this morning.

After focusing on Obama, the article discusses several possible McCain picks, and relates, "His top contenders are said to include Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. Less traditional choices mentioned include former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, an abortion-rights supporter, and Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Democratic vice presidential prick in 2000 who now is an independent."

Iranian Regime Plans Execution of Underage Boy Tomorrow ...Update: They Hung Him

UPDATE: Horrible News-- Iran Press News (Farsi)is reporting that the regime in Iran hung juvenile offender Seyed Reza Hejazi this morning.

Stop Child Executions has just been informed that Seyed Reza Hejazi, a juvenile offender is scheduled for execution tomorrow morning at 4am. According his father, Reza has been transferred to solitary cell which holds prisoners who are executed in 24 hours. In violation of Iran's own laws, Reza's attorney Mohammad Mostafaei has not been informed by the authorities of the imminent execution.



Reza Hejazi – then aged 15 - was among a small group of people involved in a dispute with a man on 18 September 2004, which resulted in the man being fatally stabbed. Reza Hejazi was arrested and tried for murder, and on 14 November 2005 he was sentenced to Qesas (retribution) by Branch 106 of the Esfahan General Court. The sentence was approved by Branch 28 of the Supreme Court on 6 June 2006, although under Iranian law he should have been tried in a juvenile court. The case was referred for mediation between Reza Hejazi and the victim's family, to try and arrange for the payment of diyeh, but no sum has yet been agreed. If no agreement is reached, Reza Hejazi will be executed.

Roseanne Barr: Crazy Hollywood Nut of the Day

Roseanne Barr made the news this week for slamming Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Jolie's father, Jon Voight on her website.

But, that's just the start of it- From her writing she comes across angry and disturbed. Her publicist never should have allowed her to start a blog.
Her blog postings go from weird to nasty to cuckoo.

Here's one of her latest postings from yesterday:

I am the first blogger to blog about Obama's abortion vote and how it would become the october surprise...they have michelle obama on tape defending live birth abortion, and raising money for it too...(they called this "the whitey" tape, but its far better than just that kind of a boring thing...she is on tape defending sucking the brains out of babies who live through late term abortions). This is the greatest gift pelosi and dean can give to the republicans they work for. It took alot of doing in order to throw this election to the republicans after iraq, katrina, and the economy, but pelosi and dean found a way!

Oprah Winfrey always gets her republican friends elected!! She and she alone split the woman's vote, thereby destabilizing the entire party and fracturing it forever along racial and gender lines. It is estimated that her endorsement of Obama swung over one million women's votes from Hillary, who remains the only candidate who polls to win against mccain. Oprah can rest well now knowing that her dogs will not have to pay inheritance tax over the next four years if she dies. However, in 2012, when dean pelosi and the rest of the traitors are out of jobs, and Hillary again runs for president, wins, and changes inheritance taxes to cover health care costs, we will have a nice drink to the end of the Oprah Winfrey "pray to angels instead of protest injustice" method of female stinkthink.

My great hope is that the green party will have overrun the democratic party by that time, and made its entire platform green instead of corporate controlled

I hadn't heard that Michlle Obama partial birth abortion rumor. It sounds interesting. But, like the whitey tape rumors, it isn't something that would surprise a whole lot of people.

The DNC tickets printed for Barack Obama's acceptance speech at Invesco Field show an upside down US flag on both sides.
This is the international symbol of extreme distress.
FOX 9 reported:

Some viewers contacted 9NEWS Saturday, questioning the design of the credentials to see Sen. Barack Obama accept the Democratic Party's presidential nomination at INVESCO Field at Mile High.

The viewers say with the stars and blue field in the lower left corner, it looks like an upside down American flag. Published flag etiquette states the stars should always be displayed in the upper left corner. An upside down flag represents an international symbol of extreme distress.

Matt Chandler with the Obama campaign says the flag is not upside down. He says it is a stylized flag designed to blend the stars on Senator Obama's shirt with the flag blowing in the wind.

Natalie Wyeth with the Democratic National Convention Committee sent 9NEWS the following statement Saturday night: "The DNCC community credentials incorporate patriotic design elements. They do not depict an actual American flag. The DNCC has full and complete respect for the flag and all rules of display."

Is this an "O"men of things to come?

SICK-- Liberals Attack McCain's Prisoner of War Experiences

Here's the latest disgusting low from the American Left...
After Obama's dismal performance at the Saddleback Faith Forum on Saturday night where he dodged questions and bombed in his responses, liberal supporters took their fury out on Senator John McCain.

First the liberal media accused John McCain of cheating.
Then... The the Left attacked John McCain's experiences as a prisoner of war!
Liberal bloggers accused John McCain of making up stories about his experiences as a prisoner of war. Progressives said McCain made up his cross in the sand story- a story he has told several times and included in his Christmas ad this past year:

But, later today the McCain camp announced that if the Left wants to attack McCain on his cross story they will have to also impugn his fellow prisoners as well. McCain's fellow prisoner of war, Orson Swindle, told the McCain Report that he heard this particular story from McCain "when we first moved in together" in the North Vietnamese prison.

Also today, The Corner reported that Mark Salter, John McCain's closest aide, said that when he was working with McCain on Faith of Our Fathers, that McCain also shared the "cross in the dirt" story.

It's sad that Obama supporters felt they had to attack McCain after the Saddleback shindig.
It's pathetic that they chose to attack McCain's experiences as a POW.
