More Sad News from Beslan
* Andrew at Siberian Light is reporting on more sad news from Beslan, North Ossetia tonight. *
The new Beslan School built after the old one was destroyed in last year's terrorist attack has been ransacked of its equipment:Thieves ransacked classrooms and made off with TVs, computers and printers worth about $6,200, officials say.
The new equipment had been bought as part of preparations for the new school term, which is due to begin next month.
More than 330 people, most of them children, were killed in the three-day siege by pro-Chechen gunmen who were assaulted by Russian troops.
The theft took place just three weeks before the first anniversary of the massacre, which began as children, students and parents gathered on 1 September 2004 to mark the first day of term.
At left, the men dig graves for school children in Beslan last September. Also, this last week comes some startling news from one of the hostages:
"I was sitting near a militant, whose nick-name was Ali. He told me: "We spent a long time in preparation in order to arrive here. I have even shaved off my beard in order to come here. All of you will die," victim Atikat Koniyeva said, giving evidence during a trial in the North Ossetia Supreme Court.
"I made these bombs myself. There are 1,200 metal objects inside each of them. One will be enough for all of you," Koniyeva quoted the militant as saying.
On August 2nd of this month, nearly a year after the September 1st attacks, the 331st victim of the Beslan Massacre passed away from injuries acquired during the siege:
Marina Zhukayeva died at her home Monday, the RIA-Novosti and Interfax news agencies reported, quoting Mairbek Tuayev, the leader of a citizens group in Beslan. He said coroners determined that Zhukayeva, who was in her early 30s, died of injuries sustained during the hostage crisis.
Tuayev did not specify what injuries the woman had suffered, but said she had been on life support since shortly after the Sept. 1-3 attack, which ended in a maelstrom of explosions and gunfire. Officials had said 330 hostages died, more than half of them children.
But there is some good news...

Those guys were thugs first, retarded sheep second, and Muslims a distant third at most.
Don't make their mistake of creating bogus, absurd enemies.
They would certainly have claimed they were muslims first and foremost. And if they had not been muslims, there is no doubt they would never have done the things they did in Beslan. Because other than serial killers and corpose mutilators who by neccesity work alone, there are simply no humans that are that depraved.
Believing that Islam is something other than a fascist ideology that rewards mass murder may stimulate your feel-good sensors but it doesn't square with the facts on the ground.
The rest of the world will eventually at some point demand that Muslims reform their religion. Jihad has no place in the modern world. If they don't reform their religion, clean up their act, this will lead to the deaths of millions of Muslims as the Global Jihad commits one atrocity after another.
What will happen when Muslims nuke Tel Aviv or Washington DC or Paris? Do you think the kaffir won't respond in kind? The terrorist's fantasy is that they don't, that spectacular violence leads people to convert to Islam.
Bin Laden and others have praised the number of Koran book sales skyrocketed after 9/11, that thousands converted. They dream of millions converting after nuking San Diego. This kind of miscalculation can only end with the destruction of Islam.
It's reform or die for them. If the infidel population of the world comes to the conclusion that only they or Muslims will survive. I know how that one is going to end. I'm hoping sane Muslims come to see this and take control of their countries and end Jihad.
If the so-called moderate muslims don't reform Islam, there is going to be an awful lot of glass where cities used to be. Collateral damage be damned.
Does anyone know if there is a way to contribute money or replacement equipment to the Beslan school? It's great to damn the terrorists- they deserve every bit of it, but it would be more effective to neutralize some of their damage.
