Great protest. Demontrating in the streets is a good French tradition, up there with stinky cheese and old wine.
I'm from Malaysia (country south of Thailand ).
Rape and incest is common and increasing in Malay-Muslim comunity after rapid islamization since the 1980's .
Malays are now rejecting their own culture because of islam. They view their traditional culture as "Shrik" or unislamic due to hindu-buddhist influence.
The book written by V.S. Naipaul , "Amoung the Believers" , and "Beyond Belief" , gave a very fine details about it.
