Le Film de d'Or de Cannes Palme est une Fraude!... L' Horror!

You've put a huge light on this and many people want the truth and many want to put it in the closet, just walk away. There was a great Republican president who once said, if you just give the people the truth, the republicans, the Americans will be saved. [...] I dedicate this Palme d'Or to my daughter, to the children of Americans and to Iraq and to all those in the world who suffer from our actions. "

Michael Moore
Cannes 2004
Acceptance Speech for the Palme d'Or
Ooh, La Magnifique! Moore de Monsieur! La Magnifique!

But wait...

"Le film de d'Or de Cannes Palme est une fraude!! L' Horror!!"
(The Cannes Palme d'Or is a fraud! The horror!)

This is nothing new to most of us but now Michael will have to pay.

Sgt Peter Damon may have lost his arms but he is not letting Michael Moore take his honor!

Sgt. Peter Damon and his wife Jenn gave Governor Romney a tour of the home that was specially built for their family by Homes for Our Troops.

Michael Moore's lies are coming back to haunt him and his wallet:

A double-amputee Iraq-war vet is suing Michael Moore for $85 million, claiming the portly peacenik recycled an old interview and used it out of context to make him appear anti-war in "Fahrenheit 9/11."

Sgt. Peter Damon, 33, who strongly supports America's invasion of Iraq, said he never agreed to be in the 2004 movie, which trashes President Bush.

In the 2003 interview, which he did at Walter Reed Army Hospital for NBC News, he discussed only a new painkiller the military was using on wounded vets.

"They took the clip because it was a gut-wrenching scene," Damon said yesterday. "They sandwiched it in. [Moore] was using me as ammunition."

Damon seems to "voice complaint about the war effort" in the movie, according to the lawsuit.

But what the father of two from Middleborough, Mass., was really talking about was the "excruciating" pain he felt after he lost his arms when a Black Hawk helicopter exploded in front of him.

Damon wasn't expressing any opinion about the war, the suit charges, but rather extolling the drug.
It takes a despicable human being to use a man's pain and then twist it for your own political gain. Michael Moore is just that person.

God speed, Sgt. Peter Damon!

How much play will the mainstream news give this story? Ya think as much as they gave the Cannes Palme d'Or Winner in 2004!

And, what will the French say?

Two questions for you bloggers out there.

1) Does anyone know what Michael Moore is doing now? He seems to have disappeared from the spotlight.

2) Does anybody think his movie has made much difference? It was supposed to have changed the election but I don't see that it had much effect at all.

Jim,

Did you have to show a picture of Michael Moore? I was just having lunch, and now I've lost my appetite. Next time, post pictures of that slob well after lunch!

Thanks,

James C. (Da Man)

Bob,

To answer your question ("what's the blob doing?"): he's supposedly at work on a documentary/hitpiece on the healthcare business in the USA, entitled "Sicko". Yes, I know it could also be his autobiographical swan song as well.

This is the same healthcare industry that will be providing him with his hip and knee replacements, as well as quadruple bypass surgery.

thanks da man.
I look forward to another movie by Moore that will have to be fact checked to see if anything is correct in it.

When did alleged conservatives become such fans of frivolous lawsuits?

This guy will probably wonder what he was thinking when he has to pay Moore's attorney fees.

Frivolous? Why? It seems the allegations are that (a) Moore used the plaintiff's image and words without permission in a commercial film, (b) cast the plaintiff in a false light, and (c) defamed the plaintiff.

These claims are at least colorable, and, if properly pleaded, should survive a motion to dismiss. Moreover, they seem to present disputed issues of fact and thus are not particularly susceptible of summary judgment.

That means there is a least a nontrivial chance that the case will make it to trial.

How do you think a jury will view a patriotic, double-amputee veteran, and his attractive, faithful wife -- particularly as compared to a man who would deceive and cheat such a veteran in order to profit from his pain?

Even if the suit is somehow dismissed before that point (and it certainly could be), do you really think a judge is going to make a DOUBLE AMPUTEE VETERAN pay the attorney's fees of a man who made money from exploiting the plaintiff's pain?

Hmmmm...

The Democrats/LLL's have used lawsuits to silence their critics for decades but that is ok in jpe's book but when someone sues one of their sacred cows for misrepresentation he gets his knickers in a twist.

Just another LLL who can dish it out but can not take it. I find that all too common with them. They are behaving like a school yard bully who push people around until someone finally stands up to them and punches them in the nose. Instead of defending themselves they start bawling and go running for their mommy.

Anyway...

My guess is that ol' Mikey will settle this out of court fairly soon.

re first post by bob st. louis:

1. Who really cares what he is doing. IMHO the DNC feels that he and the LLL, the MSM (especially Rathergate) and the "Hollywood wing" of the party did more to cost Kerry the election then anything else, including Kerry himself.

2. Personally I think it probably cost them a million votes. You see, the Democrats and LLL's have not seemed to grasp that their world of "always sunny and 1972" ended on a bright September morning in 2001. It was fatally wounded in 2000 but died on 9/11/01.

The aftermath of the 2000 election showed their true face and it is the face of a rabid dog. That is when many who would normally support the Democratic party hopped on the fence to see of the dog was truly rabid (me included). The Democrats actions after 9/11 proved to me and many others that the Democratic party was rabid and we jumped off the fence over to the other side. In the 1980's there were the Reagan Republicans, the first decade of the 21st century gave birth to the 9/11 Republicans.

I have a theory. The only evidence I have for it is circumstantial, but my gut tells me it's correct.

I believe that Michael Moore is the driving force behind Cindy Sheehan. He coaches her, he writes her material, he bankrolls her. Knowing how toxic he's become, he stays in the shadows pulling the strings, but in a very real sense, Michael Moore is Cindy Sheehan. Again, there's no real evidence for this theory. But it makes sense.
