St. Louis Reporter Arrested at Funeral of Local College Student
A St. Louis Post Dispatch reporter was arrested outside of the funeral of Ladue native and Clemson student Tiffany Marie Souers on Thursday. After a tussle, the reporter, Margaret Gillerman, 54, of University City, is "accused of" striking the arresting officer:
Police said Gillerman was escorted from Church of the Annunziata by a lieutenant who told her church officials had banned media, but that she later returned to the parking lot. Gillerman said she had been permitted to attend the service and has "felt very welcomed by the family" while covering them.Authorities may have a suspect in the brutal killing of the popular St. Louis area university student.
Ladue Police Chief Greg Wurm said admitting reporters was up to church officials, not the family.
Wurm said Gillerman later resisted arrest and struck an officer booking her into the city lockup. Gillerman said the allegation of assault was unfounded and said she had been treated roughly, which left bruises. Wurm said his officers acted appropriately.

This is Margaret Gillerman. I did not "jack" anyone. Please correct that. This was a terrible experience encountered while I was trying to do my job. At this point these are only allegations - and false ones. Thank you.
I agree with Margaret. She isn't the jacking type.
Interesting site here - I will have to put a link for you on my blog!
UPDATE from Margaret Gillerman; This - the dropping of the charges--is all verifiable from the Ladue court. Ladue dropped the trespassing charges after
Monsignor Richard Stika of that church filed a non-prosecution affidavit saying he refused to prosecute me. I saw the Monsignor on the way in to the church, introduced myself and he was very cordial to me. Police acted unjustly and violated my rights and the Constitutional guarantees of a free press.
Secondly, the Ladue police dropped the 3rd degree assault charge because they had absolutely no case or evidence and the officer involved made the story up.

Ladue Police dept. is becoming increasing more NOTORIOUS for nit picking & picking on people. They should get rid of Ladue Police & have St. louis County patrol it's city. ladue police have ABSOULUTELY NOTHING to do in that town so if they hear anything come across the radio they act like cowboys! Take a stroll through one day if you feel like being hassled.
