Democrat Hires Tire Slasher Son as Campaign Consultant
Is this really surprising?
Omukunde and four other defendents left the Democratic Party headquarters at about 3 a.m. on Nov. 2, 2004 and returned about 20 minutes later, extremely excited and talking about how they had slashed the tires. Omukunde was one of five paid Kerry campaign workers in Milwaukee who allegedly slashed the tires of 20 vans that had been rented by Wisconsin Republicans He was later booked for the crime.
This year Omukunde was given more responsibility for his previous experience in democratic politics.

U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore walks into court with her son Sowande Omokunde, who is charged with slashing the tires of vans rented by Republicans. (Court TV)
Rep. Gwen Moore awards her son for his previous political work as a consultant in this year's election:
U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore's campaign is quickly becoming a family business.Hat Tip Larwyn and Jessica McBride
Not only does the Milwaukee Democrat have her sister Brenda on the campaign payroll to the tune of nearly $40,000 annually, as we reported last year, but Moore now has brought on her 27-year-old son, Sowande Omokunde, also known as Supreme Solar Allah.
Recent campaign reports show Moore, who was easily re-elected to a second term, paid her son $1,500 in October for political consulting. Omokunde told others that he was the campaign's deputy field director.
Neither the congresswoman nor her sister returned calls Friday.
As you may recall, Omokunde was one of four Democratic staffers who pleaded guilty to misdemeanors for slashing tires on 25 vans hours before Republican Party officials were to use them to drive voters to the polls on election day 2004. In April, Omokunde was sentenced to four months in jail and fined $1,000 for his role in the much-publicized caper.
But he obviously had a soft landing. How many other criminals can walk out of jail and into a job on a congressional campaign payroll?
Michelle Malkin has more on Omokunde's arrest and jail time.

Not surprising.
Just more of the Democrats "culture of corruption" on parade.
I have a feeling ol' Nancy is going to wish she had kept her mouth shut about that very quickly. You see, there is nothing worse then a hypocrite that tries to pass themselves off as a paragon of virtue.
To quote an old Rod Stewart lyric; "With a face like that you ain't got nothin' to laugh about."
Goodness! Tire slashing Democrats! Somebody get the smelling salts!
Of course, ol’ Jimbo does not dare devote a post to the arrest of Chad Castagana — a conservative blogger who has been charged with "mailing more than a dozen threatening letters containing white powder to Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Jon Stewart" and other media figures. As David Neiwert points out, Castagana was a regular on the far-right wingnut hate site Free Republic.
There has been scant media coverage of the arrest of Castagana. It seems that Jimbo is just following the popular trend: when someone with far-right-wing political leanings starts doing terroristic things, just ignore it. Pretend it didn’t happen. In other words: it’s not terrorism if one of the wingnuts’ own does it.
Nothing like a little moral relativity to illuminate what the wingnuts are really about, is there?
Here's what Republicans need to do:
1. Hold daily press conferences and mention the Democrats' "culture of corruption." Have people hold up signs with the names of Dem lawmakers, like Pelosi, Murtha, Hastings, Mollohan, Jefferson, etc., who are in ethical trouble.
2. Demand that the House Ethics Committee investigate each and every troubling allegation. When the Dems stonewall, go on tv and scream about Pelosi's cover-ups of corruption.
3. Write letters to the Justice Department asking for the opening of investigations and grand juries into the allegations. When there is no response, hold more press conferences.
4. Have Republicans go to the House floor and condemn the "culture of corruption" and name each crooked Dem involved. Highlight each allegation.
5. Start a website: Crookeddems.com. Post the "10 Most Wanted Dem Crooks" with their pictures, and hand out bumper stickers with the web address.
This and other little measures will make the Dems squirm like they made the GOP squirm when we were in the majority.
The Republicans did none of that to police their own when they were in control of Congress. What does that tell us about Republican culture, Lazarus?
