Harry Reid Smiles As He Talks About Disintegrated Iraqi Town (Video)
Harry Reid makes up his own talking points.
In his press conference yesterday he claimed the Iraqis want the US to leave.
Earlier yesterday the democratically elected government of Iraq begged the US not to leave. Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari warned the US Congressional leaders that withdrawing troops would lead to a catastrophe.
But, that was not the most disgusting line from the Democratic Leader's press conference. Harry Reid smiles as he talks about the massive suicide bombing in the small town of Amirli, south of Kirkuk, that killed over 105 innocent Iraqis this past week.

That smile may have been the only honest message he gave during that press conference!
Meanwhile... The New York Sun reported that Congress, without waiting for General Petraeus to send back the progress report it asked him to write when it sent him to Baghdad in January, will launch phase two of the campaign to declare defeat in the Battle of Iraq. Pelosi and Reid are setting a date for withdrawal.
This is also in direct conflict with what the Democratic leader said yesterday.

"Harry Reid smiles as he talks about the massive suicide bombing in the small town of Amirli"...
Geez Jim, I'm hoping Reid was offering up a grimmace instead of a smile but then again considering the character of Reid , sadly you might be right...
Actually juandos, it was more like a "sneer"...and it sent a chill through my spine when I saw it. Has Harry Reid gone so far past the point of no return that he dreams of the senate seats he will pick up because of this? After saying that he didn't have to tell reporters that things in Iraq were "bad" he proceeded IMMEDIATELY to do just that!!
I think that the Democrats have now gone WAYYYY past the point of no return! They've turned into a bunch of cold, heartless bastards!
Watch the video and judge for yourself.
What gets me is that they don't think that their comments are on record. Do they remember something called the internet? One of their folks invented it, some guy named Gore?
cornhusker says: "it was more like a "sneer"..."...
Well I've taken another look at it were the video quality seemed to be a bit better and cornhusker I think you are right, the sorry S.O.B. did seem like he was sneering...
I think today's Democratic party (though maybe not every single registered member) is the party of sedition and treason...
I think Paul Shlichta
writting over at American Thinker has it just right when he penned the following: "President Bush's apt comparison of the present situation to the Revolutionary War evokes a vivid image of Nancy Pelosi and Harold Reid, as members of the Continental Congress, screaming that the war is lost and demanding that we surrender to the British immediately"...
mike h. brings up a good point: "What gets me is that they don't think that their comments are on record"...
No kidding! Remember how Reid & Durbin had their collective tits in a wringer over a television mini-series?

Karma works and the citizens of Nevada will pay a heavy price for electing Harry Reid to the senate.
Reid smiled when he spoke of "a town is now gone in Iraq"; this was to say, see what did I tell yah....things are realy bad in Iraq. To Reid this was just affirmation that the troops need to pull out of Iraq because the Iraqi people do not want them there and/or the American's presence is the reason for these attacks.
bg, Reid is a liar. The Iraqi people may not want the American troops to be in Iraq, just like the American troops would rather be home, but both sides know that Iraq would be in a horrid state if the Americans leave too soon. The whole purpose of the American troops being in Iraq is to help restore order and help the Iraqis to be in a position to maintain that order, then it is all hand shakes, gestures of good luck, and sianara.

hi Joanne.. i don't believe the majority of Iraqi citizens want US to leave per se.. from all the info i've gathered.. they want the same thing Bush wants.. i believe the "Iraqis" Reid is talking about are Sadr supporters.. the ones who forced a vote on Sadr's version of the Dems cut & run time table.. the one where they had two different results for the same petition.. one said it didn't pass, the other it did.. but either way & regardless.. it was with the stipulation that we are given time to finsish training the Iraqi forces & help secure Iraq.. once that is done, they will probably vote on US leaving w/o any stipulations.. whcih is as it should be.. at any rate, i hope i didn't go too far off the track here.. point is, from everything i've ever heard coming from on the ground in Iraq.. they are not only begging US to stay, but are very glad we're there (well not all, there's still some terrorists & their ilk, the ones Reid & his ilk listen to & speak for).. yes, including the Sunni..
