She did spend one day in Iraq, you know.
Brave antiwar liberal Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) makes a one day trip to Iraq to come home an expert on defeat. And, the Washington Post treats her like a rock star in their glowing report on her bravery. After all, she was able to put a sock in it the whole time Gen. David H. Petraeus was speaking to her group of US Representatives without screaming at him like a Code Pink activist.
The Washington Post glamorizes the Power Point packed trip to Baghdad by the co-founder of the House Out of Iraq Caucus. She is one of 50 democratic surrender monkeys who started this antiwar group to fight for defeat in Iraq- regardless of the cost to America or the world- despite the likelihood of genocide after the US pulls out.
Instead of glorifying this antiwar nutcase, the WaPo should be lambasting Schakowsky for her dishonorable efforts against our nation and troops. How sick that the media praises her courage in facing the Iraqi heat that “feels like a hair dryer on the back of your neck”. Talk about a waste of federal money and a waste of the general's precious time! The government could have kept this lib at home and emailed the Power Point presentations from Baghdad.

You're over the top with your criticism of the Post. The reporter never "glamorizes" Shakowsky. It's a fair report that treats her with respect yet points out some shortcomings.

I have lived ten years in the Middle East [Egypt, Saudi, Lebanon], visited all the countries in the Arab League save Libya and Djibouti, & read/speak Arabic [3+,4] having learned it in the Foreign Service Institute.
ReplyDeleteIt never ceases to amaze me how the shallow vapid vacuous lefties who confuse wishes for wants and wants for necessities have traits that resemble the Arab mind so closely they could be kissing cousins---which in the Arab world means MARRIED!!! The Dhimmi-crats cut slack for Islamists who reflect the hatred in the MSM for winners and America's success across the board [25+% GDP of THE ENTIRE WORLD].
Last night I had a perfesser for "Conflict Resolution" through the use of group dynamic theory over for dinner. In the end, he was smart enough to admit that most problems are near intractable. But I still think reading Toynbee & Spengler beats psychology & sociology classes on group dynamic conflict resolution when it comes to strategic judgments.
Most of the people around the table were polite and sophisticated liberals, not ultra-lefties. But the irreducible core of the left subsists on the large segment of loooozers & angry academics/know-better "helping-profession enablers" who want to reduce this country to a high-taxed soup of mediocrity [Canadian style]. The Arabs are already totally mediocre [and believe me I know]. Hence, the Dems/loons unwittingly want us to become Arabs!!! And they ask us to therefore not knock the CA-RAAAAZY Islamists who want to forcibly convert us to Islam and make our women into SLAVES. Are there any smart women on the left who have put two and two together?

That woman is my former congress-person and a disgrace. She is so hyper-partisan it is impossible to take her seriously. Her husband was convicted in a multi-state check kiting scheme in order to keep his job as the head of a then failing "charity". After the feds shut down his intentional multi-state check kiting scheme many Illinois Democrats stepped up and gave him about $250,000 just weeks before Ms. Schakowsky announced her candidacy for the soon to be vacated seat of Sydney Yates. Those Democrats bailed out a ponsi scheme charity that kept Schakowsky and her husband living well in an expensive district. She is not an honest woman by any stretch of the imagination. Janice and Chicago Democrats have all said that her husband was stealing money "for the children". Those folks never tire of that "line".
