Iran Invents Camera For the Blind(?) Update: It's From Taiwan

Because blind people want to take great pictures, too(?).
An Iranian inventor has developed a new camera for those who can't see.
Fars News reported:

The camera for the blind has a feature that "allows the camera to work with color waves and their reactions and it can determine the distance automatically."
In America we call this- "automatic focus."

Here is a photo of the Iranian camera for the blind. (Please tell me this is not an American model like so many of the other developments the regime claims to make.)

The Iranian also invented special tanks for developing film for blind photographers:

She (inventor Mahvash Sepehr) has also invented special tanks for the blind to develop their negatives.

"Once the film is developed, the tank starts ringing to warn the blind person that it is time to bring the negative out of the liquid," the Iranian inventor concluded.
In America we call these things- "timers."

Previous Iranian Invention Announcements:
- Herbal Cure for AIDS
- Blessed Nuke Energy in the Kitchen
- Space Rockets that Don't Reach Space

UPDATE: Thanks to DJM for the tip. It's a Ben Q camera given away as sales promotions in America:

BenQ's headquarters are in Taipei.
(I originally said American but the headquarters appear to be in Taipei- Thanks again to DJM.)
Oh... And as Harrison noted below in the comments, the film developing tanks are pretty much useless with digital cameras.

So she invented a special film developer for the film that's coming out of her obviously...digital... camera.

I don't think BenQs are American. The manufacturing plants are located in Taiwan, Mexico and China. It seems to be an Asian company, though I'm not sure about that.

Some models are high-end (At least price-wise), but as noted, others are promotional items.

What's up with the Muslim need to take credit for other people's inventions...seems like they (Muslims, not Iranians necessarily) are forever reminding us that they invented the zero and "Arabic" numerals instead of the hard-to-read "Roman" numerals. But, I'm pretty sure they took that from the Hindus. Seems like they've got a serious case of wounded pride.

  9. To be fair on the beloved Muslims (it's just the terrorists and fascists I hate), it's _we_ who call them 'Arabic numerals. IIRC, In the ME they are indeed referred to as 'Indian numerals'...

  10. The Iranians (nay all the Mohammedans) have long been suffering from an incurable disease called 'cultural identity crisis', this disease is most often associated with the infection of the virus called 'Islam', which involves "submission" to a regressive 7th century Arabic text called the 'Quran' dealing with 'hot' topics like 'sexual perversion', 'cultural subjugation', 'human bestiality' and other such 'philosophies'.

All 'mohammedan' inventions are in fact not Islamic:
    1. Zero - Invented by the Hindus
    2. Algebra - Invented in parts by, Babylonians (rhetorical), Hindus and Greeks (geometric & syncopated) and symbolic (Greeks, Hindus, Chinese and finally Europeans)
    3. Astrolabe (Greeks)
    4. Arches & Domes (Greeks, Syrians, Hindus, Chinese)
    ---

What more .... the list of such 'Islamic' inventions are endless .... hahaha !

Huh! That's nearly as stupid as those so-called inventions we see on ABC's American Inventor, getting three (this year four) NOs in a row!
The thing is the news agency "Fars" (one can say "Farce" too!) is one very unprofessional supporter of Ahmadinejad. They're being constantly criticized and made fun of in the Iranian blogosphere. The very same story you mentioned is currently being discussed in the Iranian Digg, Balatarin here (Persian) and what people say is how stupid the guys at Fars are.
Luckily for us not all their stories (and of course a bunch of other government-run agencies') are translated to English!
