IRAQIS PROTEST TERROR- Hold Rally at Saudi Embassy

This was a welcome sight...
Iraqi-Americans held a protest yesterday denouncing terrorism in Washington DC.

Iraqis protested against terrorism in front of the White House and Saudi Embassy in Washington DC yesterday.
Iranian Mehr News wrote the article (the only one I found) on the protest:

TEHRAN, Aug 25 (MNA)-- Hundreds of Iraqis residing in the U.S. converged in the front of the Saudi embassy in Washington on Friday condemning Riyadh’s policy towards Iraq, Sotaliraq said on its website.

With slogans “Down with Terrorism” and “Shia and Sunni Should Unite in Iraq,” demonstrators called for the immediate halt to Saudi support for terrorism in Iraq and the issuance of “takfiri” religious decrees (fatwas) by Saudi scholars.

Nazar Heydar, the director of Iraq information center in Washington and a member of the international center for campaign against terrorism, said “by this demonstration we meant to draw the attention of the world to Saudi Arabia as the real source of terrorism.”

“We believe that by issuing takfiri religious decrees and financial support of terrorist operations, Saudi Arabia is the real source of terrorism, not only in Iraq, but in the entire world. We read in the press that 50% of suicide bombers in Iraq are Saudi nationals,” he explained.

In a statement issued by Iraqi demonstrators, they called upon the U.S. to pressure Saudi Arabia to stop actions leading to the murder of innocents.

“We tried to submit a copy of the statement to the Saudi ambassador to Washington, but he refused to accept it,” Heydar noted.

Notice the sign below- "70% of suicide bombers in Iraq are Saudi."

  1. Good for them. I don't think anyone will believe or think that Rove or Bush jr. set this up.

Well, maybe..those liberal idiots will believe most anything as long as it makes the President look bad.

  2. I thought it was interesting that the Mehr News Service in Iran was the only media outlet to run a report on the protest.

  3. "I thought it was interesting that the Mehr News Service in Iran was the only media outlet to run a report on the protest"...

Well Jim I did a search on both Google and Yahoo (regular search and news search) and sadly you are just about right...

I personally found it in only one other site other than your own: National Journal/The Gate - Saudi Embassy Protest Highlights Role In Iraq

The MSM in this country doesn't want to be seen upsetting Harry 'the fairy' Reid ...

  4. BTW A @ 4:59 p.m., thanks for that link and yes I do remember it now that you've refreshed my memory...

Money line for me in that posting: "There is a strong case to be made that as the prosperity of a society rises, its tolerance for chaotic violence drops greatly"...

For every extra wife a Saudi takes, one young man must settle for domesticated female animal for sex or try for the 72 virgins by blowing up himself.

Isn't it interesting they teach suicide/homicide as an honorable deed? Could one think of this as a demographic necessity of a polygamous society? To rid the society of extra batchelors?

    Notably absent:
    - white college students
    - "Peace" groups like ANSWER, ISO, CAN, etc
    - "Progressives" of any stripe, except for the real ones of the Arab world
    - Mainstream media coverage (if they don't report it, it didn't happen)
    - Cindy Sheehan

terrorism in general is not making the liberal MSM

the murder of 500 yezdei in iraq vanished from the media almost as fast as it happened even though it was the worst terrorist attack since sept 11 both of which were done by al quada. It really seems what ever is good for the DNC the MSM will carry but what ever is bad for the DNC the MSM will bury

  17. The Iranians covered the story only because it was against a sworn enemy--the Sunni Saudi Arabia. When the same Iraqis protest Iranian Shia terror, which they won't, Iran will not cover it except as a Zionist plot.

But having said that any attention paid to the role of Saudi Arabia and their sick Wahhabist teachings is a good thing. We will be making progress in this war on terror when all Saudi funding for mosques in this country ends and we force Saudi Arabia to allow US soldiers and visitors to wear cross jewelry and carrying bibles if they like. The fact that we put up with these restrictions speaks to our dhimmitude. Either force these people into the 18th century or cut them off....
