On August 9, 2007, Bangladeshi writer Tasleema (Taslima) Nasreen was attacked by a group of angry Muslims at press conference for her latest book in Hyperabad:
Bangladeshi author was attacked by the Muslim hardliner MLAs of political party Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen in Hyderabad.Human Rights activist Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi forwarded these photos from the attack on Taslima:
The MLAs, angry over Taslima's alleged remarks on Islam and Prophet Mohammad, attacked her at a press conference where the author was to release the Telugu translation of her latest book Shodh.
The enraged activists hurled abuses at the author and even threw pieces of furniture at her. Nasreen was shielded by journalists and some senior officials, who also got injured in the process.

Taslima was forced to exit the press conference with the help of Indian police.

Today Muslim hardliners threatened Taslima to leave the country or face death!
The Tribune reported:
Activists of a Muslim group today threatened to “eliminate” Bangladeshi writer Tasleema Nasreen from India for allegedly “defaming” Islam if the Centre failed to expel her from the country.MORE... ROP reported that the Islamists put a bounty on her death.
“If the government does not take any action against her, she will be eliminated. The situation is such that we have to say this,” member of the Majlis Bachao Tehriq, Hyderabad, Majidulla Khan Farhad said addressing a rally.
Accusing Tasleema of insulting Islam in her writings, Imam of Tipu Sultan mosque Syed Barkati said “insult to the Prophet is an insult to God. When (painter) Maqbul Fida Husain painted Hindu goddess in the nude, there was a strong resentment. The same sentiment is at work here.”
Imam Barkati demanded immediate banishment of the writer from the country as “otherwise, we will intensify our campaign and the situation will explode.”
Update: LGF has video of the earlier attack on Taslima.

I'm going to have to hit the library and see if they carry any english translations of her works. I probably won't agree with most of what she says, but she sounds like a fascinating woman and her books must have had real impact for the extremists to go this nuts over them.
ReplyDeleteHow come the Islamists in the photographs aren't wearing turbans, long white gowns and long beards? Why do they have Western style clothing and hairstyles?
ReplyDeleteRandal~ no offense, but that is sort of like expecting all Native Americans (Indians, to the PC readers like mushbrains) to weather feathers all the time.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, islamists do tend to be major hypocrits.
Oh no! Did Taslima let the cat out of the bag and expose the pedophile prophet for what he was?
ReplyDeleteSing it again folks: Islam's Not for Me
jaundos,
ReplyDeleteYou should read Judaism's Strange Gods by Michael A. Hoffman to read about pedophilia in the Talmud.
What about the pedophilia in the Bible? See http://www.answering-christianity.com/ac12.htm#links

ReplyDeleteoh my Randall, that's too freakin' funny!! sure wasn't reading the Koran?? because it certainly isn't the New Testament.. and even if all that crap is true.. how does it negate the Islam practiced by the radical Islamist fundamentalists of today??

Just repeat after your local jihadist imam......"religion of peace"..."religion of peace." Believe it, or they will kill you.....sheesh.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, well RandallJones doing homework is obviously NOT not your strong suit sir as could be seen by your first sent of questions...
ReplyDeleteThe reason RandallJones why those Islamist in the picture Jim posted showing Islamist committing assault on Ms Talisma are not dressed like Arabs is because they are NOT Arabs as Otter pointed out...
You say one should read Michael A. Hoffman's book and I'm assuming you mean this Hoffman who is one of the pushers of Holocaust-Denial Literature , right?
Personally I find that strange having had the distinct displeasure of visiting a couple of the sites....
I note that in one of your suggested links the following: As Muslims, we do not embrace the pedophilia, rape, terrorism and all of the other forms of evil that exist in the Bible, nor do we believe that the Prophets of Allah Almighty, peace and blessings be upon all of them, ever committed such cruel acts that are falsely attributed to them.
We're only exposing the corrupted bible and the evil that exists in it.
Hmmm, seems at odds with what's now known and documented of the so called Religion of Peace ...
None the less a quick perusal of online Old Testament tracts does indeed show that Moses is calling for what your link shows but maybe you should read that Numbers chapter from the beginning...
Then again maybe you should consider reading the translated Talmud version of Numbers courtesy of the Jewish Virtual Library...
Just a thought...
juandos,
ReplyDeleteRegarding the translations you want me to read,on page 24 of the book
Jewish History, Jewish Religion, by Israel Shahak, it says:
In 1962, a part of the Maimonidean Code …the so-called Book of Knowledge, which contains the most basic rules of Jewish faith and practice, was published in Jerusalem in a bilingual edition, with the English translation facing the Hebrew text. The latter has been restored to its original purity, and the command to exterminate Jewish infidels appears in it in full: ‘It is a duty to exterminate them with one’s own hands.’ In the English translation this is somewhat softened to: ‘It is a duty to take active measures to destroy them.’ But then the Hebrew text goes on to specify the prime examples of ‘infidels’ who must be exterminated: ‘Such as Jesus of Nazareth and his pupils, and Tzadoq and Baitos and their pupils, may the name of the wicked rot.’ Not one word of this appears in the English text on the facing page.
