Jose Padilla, a U.S. citizen held for 3 1/2 years as an enemy combatant, was convicted Thursday of helping Islamic extremists and plotting overseas attacks in a case that came to symbolize the Bush administration's zeal to clamp down on terrorism.Charles Johnson notes that the Left's leading blog is mourning this terrorist's conviction:
But it was hardly a complete victory for the government. When Padilla was arrested in the months following the 2001 terrorist attacks, authorities touted him as a key al-Qaida operative who planned to detonate a radioactive "dirty bomb" in a U.S. city. That allegation never made it to court.
Instead, after a three-month trial and only a day and a half of deliberations, the 36-year-old Padilla and his foreign-born co-defendants were convicted of conspiracy to murder, kidnap and maim people and two counts of providing material support to terrorists.

Sick!
STACLU has a big roundup on reaction to the verdict.

Jules Crittenden thinks a terrorism conviction by a jury of his peers should shut up the Padillista cheering section.
Update: The anti-American, anti-Semitic Democracy Now joins the moonbats in mourning:
Today Democracy Now has this EXCLUSIVE: An Inside Look at How U.S. Interrogators Destroyed the Mind of Jose Padilla
...Because to these Leftists, it is America's fault- Always!
HotAir has a collection of a few choice quotes.
Holy Cow, what is WRONG with those lefties at Daily Kos? What an evil, vile lot they are.
ReplyDeleteAmy- It is truly amazing that Kos is making the rounds as an expert while his blog continues to post such filth.
ReplyDeleteOn Firedoglake, Hamsher noted a quick return of the jury and wrote something like "they must have seen through the government's Kafkaesque case."
ReplyDeleteLater, she only wrote "Guilty on all counts" with no further commentary. Oops.
Poor Kos Kidz, one their terrorist heros will be going to prison instead of Bushitler, Rove, and Cheney. I'm so glad I never took LSD. The sky must be a scary color in their world.
ReplyDeleteGP, I think Kos IS an expert in extremism. The more these people talk, the more our odds go up for victory in 2008 (both in the White House and GWOT).
ReplyDeleteI've had some experience with the Daily Kos folks and the only way to describe them is VILE. Filthy language, crude suggestions... all the thugs in elementary school who flunked out of high school evidently congregate at the Daily Kos.
If this Jessalyn Radack wants to plead guilty to something in the Padilla case, it's fine with me.

ReplyDeleteDemocrats and Cannibals
excerpts:
[Texas Democrat Henry Cuellar is today fond of quoting a famous Lyndon Johnson line: "You know the difference between cannibals and liberals? Cannibals only eat their enemies."]
[In a match-up on "Meet the Press" this past weekend, the Daily Kos's Mr. Moulitsas extolled those who use his site to trash thoughtful folks such as Mr. Cuellar as a shining example of "democracy." In the same breath he then commanded the DLC's Mr. Ford to "control" his moderate members, and force them to stop disagreeing with liberal Democrats. If you get that logic, you might just be a Daily Kos reader.]
