Massive Hizb ut-Tahrir Caliphate Conference Opens in Jakarta- 100,000 Expected

Tens of thousands of radicals will meet today at the Jakarta Hizb ut-Tahrir Conference to push for global Islamic law starting with the re-establishment of a caliphate across the Muslim world.

Indonesian Muslim youth from the hard-line Islamic group Hizbut Tahrir wave black and white flags with the religious writing that reads 'There is no God but God, and Mohammed is his prophet' during International Caliphate Conference 2007 in Jakarta, Sunday, Aug 12, 2007. Nearly 90,000 followers of a hard-line Muslim group packed a stadium in the capital Sunday, calling for the creation of an Islamic state and thunderously chanting 'Allah is great!.' There's not a thing about this conference that looks peaceful... Not a thing.

Today is the day...
100,000 are expected to convene as the Khilafah Conference opens in Jakarta.

The radical Hizb ut-Tahrir conference opens in Jakarta, Indonesia today. Several speakers will push for expanding the Caliphate, or Khilafah in Arabic, during the massive sessions expected to draw 100,000 believers.
ADN Kronos reported:

More than 100,000 people are expected to attend the world's largest Islamic Caliphate conference to be held in Jakarta on Sunday.

According to Hizb ut-Tahrir, the pan-Islamist political party staging the conference, people will come from all over the world to hear speakers from England, Australia, Palestine, Japan and the Sudan.

Abu Bakar Bashir (pictured above from an Aussie interview), the controversial leader of Indonesia's Mujahiddin Council, who is committed to transforming Indonesia into an Islamic state will address the conference.

He is the alleged spiritual leader of Jemaah Islamiyah jailed for his role in the 2002 Bali bombings. Considered by many to be the mastermind of the attacks which killed 202 people, Bashir was found guilty of conspiracy, and sentenced to two and a half years imprisonment.
The BBC is reporting that 60,000 are in attendance at the radical Islamic rally:

The organisation regards the Caliphate, or Khilafah in Arabic, as the ideal form of government which emerged from Islam 1,400 years ago because it is government according to the laws of God, as set out in the Koran, rather than by laws designed by man.

Its message is radical and non-violent, but many experts see it as ideologically close to violent jihadist groups.

Critics describe it as a secretive, militant and highly organised movement.
Here is a list of expected speakers from the Hizb ut-Tahrir website:

International Speakers

1. Dr. Imran Waheed (Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain)
2. Sheikh Ismail Al Wahwah (Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia)
3. Sheikh Issam Ameera (Hizb ut-Tahrir Palestine)
4. Syeikh Uthman Abu Khalil (Hizb ut-Tahrir Sudan)
5. Prof. Dr. Hassan Ko Nakata (Japan)

Local speakers

* Hafidz Abdurrahman, MA (Hizb ut-Tahrir Indonesia)
* KH. Abdullah Gymnastiar (Popular scholar who regularly appears on Indonesian TV)
* Prof. Dr. H. M. Amin Rais ( Former leader of Muhammadiyah)
* KH. Ma’ruf Amin (Majelis Ulama Indonesia)
* DR. H. Adyaksa Dault, SH, M.Si.
* KH. Drs. Hasyim Muzadi (General chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama)
* Prof. Dr. Din Syamsuddin (Current leader of Muhammadiyah)
* KH. Habib Riziq Shihab (General Chairman of the Islam Defending Front, FPI)
* KH. Zainuddin MZ (Reform Star Party, PBR)
Radical British Islamist Imran Waheed was blocked from entering the country today for the conference. And, the BBC reported that of the top speakers for various reasonsdid not show up:

One by one, over the past few days, seven of the delegates invited to speak have dropped out.

Controversial Indonesian cleric Abu Bakar Ba'asyir was asked to stay away on security grounds, while three national leaders cancelled at the last minute.

The Palestinian delegate was unable to leave the Palestinian Territories, and representatives from Britain and Australia landed in Jakarta on Friday but were refused permission to enter the country.

Thanks! I like answers like that a LOT. It shows how stupid and intellectually bankrupt the West and it's supporters are.

  6. shareef don't like it. but he wouldn't, since his profile links to Hizb ut-Tahrir.

keep it up shareef. people like you eventually ensure a rocking of the casbah.

Hmm Maybe a high altitude B-2 dropping a cellulose encased MOAB into the stadium would do the trick?

    Shareef,

Is a link to a nuclear bomb crater over the top? You betcha.

Problem is, pal, we've lost nearly 4,000 of our finest young men and women over the last few years in an effort to help peaceful Muslim citizens build a reasonably consensual government in two of the worst hell-holes on earth (worst, that is, for the Muslims living there).

And what do we get? We get an entire stadium filled with people screaming for the blood of the infidel. We get daily reports of the mass slaughter of women and children at the hands of religious fanatics. We get no credit whatsoever for the restraint we've shown in pursuing nation building in Iraq and Afghanistan rather than juandos' solution.

Is it really that surprising, then, that some people jokingly call for a quick and violent end to the madness infecting the radicals in the Muslim world?

Instead of praying to God that he kill your self-proclaimed enemies, you might want to consider praying to him for a bit more wisdom and peace in your own lands.

Abu Bakar Bashir - that's how you spell Hitler in Arabic.

It's tough to tell, of course, which "would be Hitler" in the Islamic world will be the actual Hitler. But you know, when they stand up like this guy, say "hey, it's me, choose me for your next Hitler!" perhaps we ought to oblige them, and arrange to have him bumped off.

And I don't mean it as a joke. We don't need to nuke anyone - we just need to do some selective elimination of potential Hitlers before they get too big to take out without a war.

Speaking of raving idiots, Conrad, what about the kind of raving idiot who dismisses justifiably deep anger over widespread Muslim terrorism and a general Muslim refusal to forthrightly condemn that terrorism, with ad hominem attacks that casually dismiss the justifiable anger with snotty remarks like "raving idiot"? Eh, buddy-boy?

You're not doing your cause any good with such an attitude. Grow up and learn how to argue with methods more sophisticated than Kindergarten name-calling.

Hmmm, you took time out from building your Qassam rocket (got to keep up your quota of dead and maimed women and children ) to post something that lame? Obviously you are clueless...

    Thanks for playing...

Then we have the big A @ 4:01 pm making like it was even remotely possible to have an intelligent conversation with someone who follows the excreted suras of the pedophile prophet ...

    [This comment thread demonstrates that

if you're talking Mother Sheehan's clowns, i see you point.. however, i don't see the majority of Americans calling for another Holocaust, the beheading of infidels, not to mention purposely inciting riots over cartoons, nor announcing every intention of establishing a Global Sharia Calipahte by any means necessary..

[Hizbut Tahrir no more represents the majority of Indonesians than you jackasses represent the majority of Americans.]

perhaps you didn't view the video.. else you would notice memebership of this group expands way beyond the confines of Indonesia..

btw, a terrorist is a terrorist is a terrorist.. and albeit not all Muslims are terrorists.. the barbaric enemy that has declared war on the world are Muslims..

btw: aside from "infidels", Muslims have killed more Muslims than any any other group throughout history..

The problem with the link is that it in its callousness condemns the millions of Indonesians living in Jakarta to death simply because 100k idiots decide to hold a conference there. Not to compare apples too closely to oranges, but no one advocates turning Columbus, OH into a nuclear bomb crater every time Neo-Nazis decide to march there.

As someone with many relatives who were born in Jarkata, and who has the misfortune of being Catholic Dutch-Indonesians on top of that, I find juandos's comment extremely offensive. Many people live in Jakarta, and I am sure that plenty of them do not wish for a global caliphate.

In fact, I bet that if juandos was not such an ignorant jackass, he would know that up until the Saudis started pumping money, founding schools and spreading Wahabbism, Indonesia was actually a fairly moderate Muslim country, where Islam had merged with many local religions.

So, to finish, f*ck you juandos, you're no better than the f*ckin jihadi islamist assholes. Bigot.

  18. Of course, this is not important enough to be noticed by the MSM, as it concerns terrorism and other "bumper sticker" issues, not urgent items like Anthropogenic GW, which will destroy the world next week or next month at the latest.

No threat from terrorist bomb threats, as those won't happen in the USA! Maybe England, Spain & a couple near-misses in Germany, but no WTC repeat. It's a bumper sticker issue.

you apparently can't take things said in jest.. so let me ask you a serious question.. how many craters do you think say Israel, Spain, or the US would be looking into should say AQ, Iran, or Hamas acquire nuclear weapons?? and how many "tolerant ; peaceful" Muslims (from wherever) have you heard protesting against "Allah's Bomb"??

  23. So now little Eve pandering to the the terrorist towel heads with her whinning, "someone with many relatives who were born in Jarkata, and who has the misfortune of being Catholic Dutch-Indonesians on top of that" shows me at least that the only real reason Jakarta is being used is that cowards and fools don't want to move to stop it...

Hey Eve, I find you and your relatives to be offensive in the extreme... I find that you and your relatives and like minded people to be no better than those cowards (with all their bizzare sorts of rationlazations offered) who don't fight the advance of wahabism in this country...

You and your parasitic, oxygen stealing relatives are the reason why terrorists make such strides...

You madam and your relatives and all who don't want to fight the advance of terrorism but just want to whine about it are sniveling cowards of the worst sort...

  24. "...simply because 100k idiots decide to hold a conference there."

A mere hundred thousand? A mere bagatelle! /sarcasm

Eve, you seem to have forgotten (how convenient!) that whenever a dozen American nazis stage a march (and there are so few nazis that it's hard for them to get more to show up), hundreds or even thousands of good Americans show up to counter-protest and to tell them that they are contemptible filth who should go to hell.

In contrast, when muslim extremists gather, they do so in huge numbers. And do we see large numbers of muslims show up to protest on behalf of us "infidels"? No. Not even small numbers.

Furthermore, when we keep seeing reports of muslims protesting terrorism, only to find that they are protesting the killing of muslims and the criticism of islam. (Yes, criticizing Islam is "terrorism" in their eyes, while slandering and demonizing "infidel" religions is just fine.)

So is it any wonder that we tend to be a bit skeptical about these claims that islam is a peaceful and tolerant religion?
