North American Conservative Leaders Meet in Montebello

For supposedly hating America and Bush so darned much...
The world sure is electing a slew of conservative leaders lately.

US President George W. Bush met with conservative Mexican leader (and Harvard educated lawyer) Felipe Calderon and conservative Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Montebello today.

Even the new conservative French leader is making quite a statement already.

  1. Unfortunately the SPP is a looking to be a Transnational Right/Capitalist organization, as described by John Fonte, that many on the political Right don't like to talk about. As I looked at this concept some time ago and compared it with Transnational Progressivism, the concept that is running behind the SPP. The SPP, itself, is given mandate to 'regularize the laws' across North America from Mexico to Canada and has priorities:

    (1) The immediate number one priority was to “facilitate the movement of people” across the borders of North America.
    (2) The “harmonization of security and customs regulations in all three countries.” This priority is vaguely written and ambiguous, although implicit is the suggestion that there should be one border for all of North America.
    (3) The “formalization” of a “transnational professional labor force” that could work in any North American country.
    (4) The creation of institutions to promote North American integration.

The US head of this? Which part of government is working on this 'regularization'? No part of government is being handed that, as it breaks with the notion of National Sovereignty, so it is handed to the US Chamber of Commerce.

So, while many good words and photo-ops come out, do remember that this is just as much of Transnationalism as is Progressivism and Terrorism. These three concepts, although looking for different outcomes, have their works operate together, not by plan but outlook. The SPP is not something I support as it looks to erode US Sovereignty as a Nation and start handing 'regional harmonization' over to unelected individuals.

How would you like *your* local laws harmonized with those of Mexico? For that is what these folks are looking to do. And do remember that Congress now sees and has been affirmed that any intra-State trade, so long as it has a 'national market' can be legislated upon by Congress. Just what you need to 'harmonize' the US.
