Christian Leaders Slam Pelosi & Reid for Abandoning Iraq

American Christian leaders recently visited Iraq where they were told by Christians that if the US would withdraw early, it would lead to the extermination of Christians and Christianity in Iraq.

A Christian Defense Coalition prayer delegation met with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in Iraq on July 27, 2007.

US Christian leaders slammed democratic leaders Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi for abandoning the people of Iraq.
Earned Media reported:

Christian Defense Coalition warns Congress that a premature withdrawal of American troops in Iraq would lead to the persecution, torture and genocide of religious minorities in that country.

The group will share their concerns at a news conference and demonstration on the lower western terrace of the United States Capitol building.

The coalition will also have a public display of red stained gloves, laid out on the lower Capitol terrace, symbolizing the blood of thousands of religious minorities that will be on our hands if we do not protect religious liberty in Iraq.

The Christian Defense Coalition recently led a prayer delegation to Baghdad and met with Prime Minister al-Maliki with a special emphasis on religious liberty.

While in Baghdad, the delegation met with Iraqi Christians leaders and were told by them if the Americans would withdraw early, it would lead to the extermination of Christians and Christianity in Iraq.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, comments, "Majority Leader Reid, Speaker Pelosi and the members of Congress must be reminded that a premature withdrawal of American troops in Iraq would lead to the persecution and slaughter of those who practice non-Islamic religious traditions. This would be especially true for hundreds of thousands of Iraqi Christians.

We cannot allow 2,000 years of Christianity to be brutally removed from Iraq along with other faith traditions. Congress must lay out a clear plan and agenda detailing how they will protect religious freedom in Iraq and ensure all religious minorities do not face ethnic cleansing and genocide. We do not want their blood on our hands."

Romney, Seeking to Keep Ahmadinejad Out, Echoes Another Clash With Iranian

Team Romney is pointing out their man's letter to United Nations Secretary General, stating, "I call on the United Nations to revoke any invitation to President Ahmadinejad to address the General Assembly" and declaring, "the only way he should be greeted in the United States is with an indictment under the Genocide Convention."

The problem is that this won't matter a wit to liberals. If you think they care about Christians, look at Hollywood. If you think they care about Iraqis, just look at the policy they promote in Iraq.

  4. The only things they care about is their agenda which is the destruction of western civilization. They have never cared about any of the issues they claim to such as human rights, women's rights, racial equality, freedom of speech, the environment, etc. They only "care" about these issues if they can use them as a tool to push their totalitarian agenda.

But don't worry...their record is dismal.

They tried in the 1860's with their "peace at any price" 1864 Democratic party platform and they failed.

They tried with communism and it failed.

They tried with totalitarianism and that failed.

Now the are trying with their new allies the Islamofascists. They will fail, too.
