Murtha Quickly Redeploys to the Next Question.
Washington reporter Jeff Gannon confronts "Cold-Blooded" John Murtha during a Congressional Press Conference yesterday on Capital Hill. Gannon asks Murtha if he will apologize to the Haditha Marines he slandered!
CSPAN carried the press conference and Jeff Gannon has the transcript posted:
JEFF GANNON: In May 2006, you said that Marines killed innocent Iraqis citizens in cold blood at Hatitha. A year later, some of them have been exonerated. At some point are you going to apologize to these men?HERE IS THE VIDEO OF THE COLD-BLOODED CONFRONTATION:
REP. MURTHA: The trial's not over yet.
JEFF GANNON: You've spoken out before. You went on national television and called these men "cold blooded killers."
REP. MURTHA: The trial's not over yet.

The Hill described the Murtha as getting red-faced over the confrontation.
Oh... And, for the record-
John Murtha may want to know that the trial for another Haditha Marine is now over.
Charges were dropped today against Capt. Lucas McConnell.

ReplyDeleteglic, don't be so defensive because the Murthaites of the world were handed an embarrassing blow. It's not OUR fault your hatred for the troops makes you guys look like fools.
Murtha may have served, but so what? By the same token, Murtha accused these Marines of being cold blooded murderers for clearing rooms as they were trained to do. Why can only troops from Operation Iraqi Freedom be scrutinized? Why can't a Marine from the Korean and Vietnam wars be held to account?
It sounded to me like Murtha's "The trial isn't over yet" sigh was more of a "there's still hope yet" sigh. That's how it sounded to this Army wife, like Murtha's holding out hope that the Marines are guilty.

In 2007, charges are dropped, and traitor murtha's response to a Yes or No question for apologizing is "the trial's not over yet". Yeah, he was real concerned about that "trial" in 2006. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I know Marines, and murtha is no Marine.
Well, glic suffers from the same adherence to fallacy as others have. This one is called "ad hominem" and is always of the structure that Person A says X. There is something objectionable about Person A, therefore the claim is that X is false.

So lets recap:

But after an actual trial which exonorates them, he refuses to recognize the trial's findings on the basis that "its still in trial"?
Apparantly its "guilty until proven innocent....or....even if proven innocent"
ie.just plain guilty no matter what.
So let me see if I got this right...

Yet glic apparently has no problem that ABSCAM Murtha has a questionable record as a war hero...
