Pakistanis choose OBL (Via ROP):
The poll was conducted for Terror Free Tomorrow by D3 Systems of Vienna, Virginia., and the Pakistan Institute for Public Opinion. Interviews were conducted August 18-29, face-to-face with 1,044 Pakistanis across 105 urban and rural sampling points in all four provinces across the nation. Households were randomly selected.Suddenly, the Musharraf option looks very, very appealing.
According to poll results, bin Laden has a 46 percent approval rating. Musharraf's support is 38 percent. U.S. President George W. Bush's approval: 9 percent.

ReplyDeletewho in their right mind would believe people are being absolutely truthful when they are not only surrounded by, but intimidated by insane men (real or imagined) who watch everything that goes on, if not are certain to hear about it.. makes sense they would choose OBL over anyone else, that's if they wanted to assure their heads would still be attached to their bodies after the results were revealed anyways..

i wonder what 'random houses' they chose. The opinion of 1,044 Pakistanis (or half of that) does in no way represent Pakistan's view. I have lived there for 20 years and not come across one person who approves of Osama Bin Laden. Our population is half of what the United States' is. Certainly you will not choose 2,088 Americans to make a statement that represents the views of the entire American population.
ReplyDeleteOsama Bin Laden is a twisted man who himself is not a Muslim. He has manipulated the illiterate (who can not afford education) and used the name of God to wrongly justify his evil deeds. You can not make assumptions about the Pakistani population based on the ideas of a few. I live there and I assure you, there is hardly any support for Bin Laden (or Bush).
The mainstream media can show a picture of kids at madrassas and say this is pakistan but the truth is, only 1% of our population attends the Madrassas. You can post videos of people burning the American flag and dancing after 9/11 but no one sees the moments of silence we observed in our schools.
There is always another side to a story and if you refuse to look at it, all I can say is, there is no dignity in ignorance.
