Israel Vows to Wipe Syria Off the Map

Israel vows to put an end to the evil Assad Regime if Syria ever uses chemical weapons in an attack on Israel.

Israel issued the threat after the news this week that a chemical weapons explosion in Halab, Syria killed dozens of Iranians and Syrians. The explosion at the Syrian test site spread chemical weapons including sarin gas.

The Daily News and Global Incident Map reported:

Israeli officials vowed to wipe Syria off the map if it is attacked with chemical weapons like one that reportedly exploded in July at a secret Syrian base staffed with Iranian engineers.

Politicians in Israel said yesterday they were not picking a fight with their neighbor, but pledged to forcefully retaliate if chemical warheads come screaming across its shared border.

"We will not attack them first. But if they ever use these weapons against Israel, then we must be clear — it will be the end of this evil and brutal dictatorship," Yuval Steinitz, a right-wing member of the Israeli parliament, told the Daily News yesterday.

Sparking shock waves across the Middle East was a report in Jane's Defence Weekly about an accidental explosion at a top secret Syrian base in July.

Citing Syrian intelligence sources, the report claimed a team of Iranian and Syrian engineers were killed July 26 while trying to arm a Scud-C missile with a mustard gas warhead.

Syrian official news agency, SANA, reported that least 15 Syrian military personnel had been "martyred" and 50 others injured in the blast near the northern city of Aleppo on the Turkish border. It claimed the early morning explosion was caused by the high temperatures.

The SANA report mentioned nothing of Iranian personnel killed in the mishap.

Jane's said dozens of Iranian workers were among those who died when a fire in the missile's engine triggered the explosion and release of a toxic cloud of lethal chemical agents banned under international law.
In related news... The Times of London is reporting that Israeli commandos secretly seized samples of nuclear material and took them back to Israel for examination before Israel later blew up the Syrian nuke site... A laboratory confirmed that the unspecified material was North Korean in origin. America approved an attack.

  1. Syrian dabbling with chemical weapons & nukes recalls the story of the Scorpion & the Frog. LOGIC has little to do with some of the moves there. It's obvious that IAEA Chief Baradei is working on behalf of the Iranians---an Islamic bomb in Iran is a major goal of the Arabs, and one in Syria would actually be an Arab nuke.

I lived in the Middle East 10 years & speak & read Arabic. There is a strong suicidal impulse among the Arabs, and getting a nuke is their way of committing suicide by cops [Israel].

Of course, they would deliver the nuke by some delivery system that could not be traced back to them---though it is delusional on their part to think they could pull it off.

  2. The nuclear story seems a bit sensational, though the chemical one seems to have some basis. Yet most of the reporting is about the nuclear, not the chemical.

  3. Typical stupid journalistic sensationalistic headline, probably intended to make Israel look belligerent and vicious, "Wipe Syria Off the Map" is NOT what was threatened. The end of the Assad Regime is NOT the end of Syria; in fact, it would be immeasurably improved by the deletion.

  4. brianfh, you sound like an appeasement monkey. Are you part Fwench? I prefer the language as reported. It is ENTIRELY appropriate. The islamo-fascist jihadists must be destroyed, or they will fulfill their oft-stated desire to destroy us. Get It?

    hey there BEAR..

i don't believe BrianFH is even close to being either an appeaser nor Fwench.. :D

albeit i cannot speak for BrianFH, the way i read it is.. he sees a difference between threatening to "wipe Syria off the map" vs "taking out the Assad regime", and so do i.. however, i don't believe it has anything to do with the islamo-fascist jihadists having to be destroyed or not.. as much as it makes the Israelis look like warmongering aggressors via stating they will "wipe Syria off the map" vs "taking the Assad regime out" if attacked..

btw, Chirac threatened to "nuke" any country that attacked France, which imho was much more threatening, but they didn't say he said he'd "wipe any country off the map", which sounds like Amadjerkoff et al loony toons part deux..

again, not speaking for BrianFH, but i think his point is.. they are trying to make Israeli leaders sound just as loony as Iranian or Hamas leaders threatening to "wipe Isreal off the map".. albeit i loved hearing it, it's pretty dangerous to try & "equate" the many threats that have been made against Israel with a threat Isreal made in defense of itself..

dang that was hard to explain, or maybe i'm just plain tired.. but at any rate, i hope it was coherent enough for you to understand (pardon typo's)..
