Tammy Bruce Outs the Far Left "Gestapo" Media (Video)

Tammy Bruce talks on The O'Reilly Factor about the serious gestapo-like tactics of the Far Left-mainstream media alliance. This includes the familiar practice of smearing individuals who they do not agree with (Example: O'Reilly) or who carry an opposing message (Example: Petraeus) without any basis of reality to their charges.

Tammy Bruce explains that the Left does this so that the person who is being attacked will then be marginalized- their voice silenced:

Tammy Bruce at her blog adds this:

In actuality, Media Matters' message, when they attack a Bill O'Reilly is really a message to everyone else: Look at what we do to him if he says something we can twist. Imagine what we can do to you. Also meant as an intimidating warning is the fact that MM (the new SS) tapes and watches everything non-leftists do and say in the media.

Ultimately, you will see these sorts of attacks ramped up as we move into the 12 months prior to the '08 election. The left, Soros, and his political and media thugs, cannot withstand independent voices and they will work overtime to silence them. Let's make sure these new gestapos fail.
Bill O'Reilly is dealing with the smear merchants in the mainstream media right now who have dishonestly portrayed him as a racist by cherry-picking from a radio interview he had with liberal commentator Juan Williams.
Of course, all of the mainstream media outlets are running with this flimsy story that is based on a lie- Pretty sick stuff!

Earl Ofari Hutchinson comes to Bill's defense.

Brian Maloney offers Bill O'Reilly some sage advice.

You really don't want to go around defending Bill O'Reilly.

I've heard/seen/read the whole sorry mess, and it's another case of Bill being, well Bill.

If he had simply gone on the air and admitted that he doesn't hang out with black people very much, and his experience at Sylvia's was an eye-opener and perhaps he expressed that in not-quite-the-right-way, this would be over and done with.

Instead, just like he did with the Malmedy/SS fiasco, he goes on the attack and starts striking out at whoever he can.

With friends like this, does anybody really need any enemies?

By all means keep hammering Media Matters. The lack of balanced coverage from them has earned them whatever you want to throw their way. It's not as though there isn't enough hipocrasy to go around from both sides.

  4. Ahhh Peter, either you are a liar or your grasp of the English language is questionable at best...

I heard Bill's radio show in its entirety, the one in question and though I tend to think of Bill as a bit of a socialist his take as expressed on his radio show was elegant and on target...

CNN with a track record of lying for a couple of decades now must've have been your source...

  5. CNN hands out knee pads to all it's reporters and field crews in case they have to give a "Lewinski" to one of their BFF's like Assad, Amadinejad and even ol' Billy Jeff.

Moral of story: Never trust anything you hear on CNN-you never know where their reporters mouths have been.

    Bill O'Reilly -

"some whites fear blacks based on irrational notions. They're afraid to go into Sylvia's, they're afraid to go to Harlem. But there's nothing different in Sylvia's than any other place in the U.S."

Yes Bill, some people do think like that. Those people are called rascists.

Sorry anonymous, but that's not racism, it's ignorance and prejudice. Racism is the hatred, dislike of another race only due to the race, or the belief that race makes one superior or inferior to people of other races.

  8. And some whites don't feel *welcome* at places like Sylvia's. Rightly or wrongly or maybe due to Black entertainment magazines running headlines such as "they're stealing our lips" with an article about how it's *bad* that white actresses are trying to conform to a standard of beauty that is becoming more ethnic. (Needless to say, I didn't feel permitted to buy the magazine. It obviously wasn't for me. The next headline would be "they're buying our magazines!")

Whites don't avoid places that are "Black" because they hate or fear black people anywhere near as often as they avoid those places because they feel as if they'd be intruding, that it's meant to be a "black" place and meant to be for "black" people. And that might be wrong but it's not *racism*.

And O'Reilly said that too, about how welcome he felt and how nice everyone was to him.

But he's not supposed to say such things, it seems. He's not supposed to acknowledge that people do have preconceptions that are wrong for whatever reason. He's not supposed to bring that reality in to what he says. He's not supposed to say anything that could be in any way interpreted as "I expected something different" or even "some other people might have expected something different."

Would it have been over if O'Reilly made some statement about what a bad prejudiced "I don't have black friends" person I am? Are you on drugs, Peter?

People shouldn't have to grovel if they happen to express themselves in "not quite the right way". Honest people should have the decency to, well, be honest. Frankly. But it's not about honestly admitting what someone *meant* it's about finding a way to *get* them.

But it's O'Reilly and as that fellow said on CNN (the one on with LaShawn Barber) that it's not about what O'Reilly *said* it's about how much certain people hate *him*. And as Tammy Bruce said, it's about looking for ways to demonize and delegitimize people who disagree and who might have influence.

There is no "grovel to make it better."

uh, excuse me Peter @ 8:41 AM..

and thank you for affording me a perfect example of the typical progressive's "bait & switch" response tactic that not only Tammy pointed out, but i have been pointing out since post 9/11..

deflect blame elsewhere & make it personal.. yep, you have the "GESTAPO" tactic down pat!! (thumbsup)

ipso facto: albeit he's a self idolizing jerk imho, that's a personal opinion.. what Bill O'Reilly is or is not is of little consequence, as he is not the ISSUE.. hence, whatever one thinks of him does not NEGATE the facts he presents..

    bottom line:

    INTIMIDATING SMEAR MERCHANTS
    ARE THE ISSUE, NOT O'REILLY..

i'm sadly reminded of the pelting the highly educated & respected Bill Cosby took when he spoke up for decency in the black community..

not to mention the "Obama is too white" call, or some other such infantile nonsense.. while i can't stand Obama, it's because of what he stands for, not due to his race.. and albeit my family is multi-racial, i suppose that makes me racist too.. pffft!

ps: apparently, "kill the messenger & to hell with the message" is part & parcel of the new progressive's credo..

    Hmm, let' see:

I'm a liar, a member of the Gestapo, and on drugs.

You're all partisan idiots. Just like the lefty moonbats you criticize.

It's none of anyone's business, but I am a Constitutional Literalist, neither (R) nor (D). Since you've demonstrated clear cognitive difficulties I'll illustrate:

    Gun Control: Unconstitutional
    Patriot Act: Unconstitutional
    Hate Speech legislation: Unconstitutional
The assault on our freedoms and liberties continue each and every day.

Anyway, that Bill might not have any black friends isn't news. There are millions of folks who don't have black friends. Big Deal.

He got a pitch right down the middle an whiffed on it.

He could have gotten that attention-whore Al Sharpton on the Factor, referenced the meal/experience, and gone on to say how most white Americns would be surprised, since all Hollywood does is serve up black folk as gangsters and drug dealers. He's already gone after Ludacris (sp?), Hollywood, and the MSM and this would have fit right into that.

    But, alas, he didn't.

He stuck his foot in his mouth.

Too bad, it was an opportunity missed. He's done really good stuff, the Jessica's Law campaign being foremost. He really could've done something.

And that would have shut up all the moonbats instead of giving them chance to run their collective mouths.

like i said Peter.. those are your personal opinions.. last i checked, opinions do not facts make.. but nice try anyways..

    re: Al Sharpton

    excerpt:

["Whatever I need they give me," Trent Benefield, 24, told detectives Tuesday night after he was brought to the 113th Precinct station for questioning about the beating of gal pal Nyla Page Walthrus, 19, the source said.

When Benefield said he was unemployed, a detective asked him why.

"Sharpton and my lawyer don't want me to work," he replied, without naming the attorney, the source said.

Then how does he get by, the cop asked.

"Whatever I want they give me - whatever I need. Every month they give me whatever I need," he boasted.

He said the amount could reach $3,000 a month.

Sharpton did not immediately respond to a request for comment.]

now there's a man who has consistently putting his foot in his mouth with impunity, go figure..

btw: Don Imus and CBS in $20 Million Dollar Settlement

    excerpt:

[Radio host Don Imus has agreed to settle with CBS for $20 million, and a non disparaging clause, legal sources claim. The move opens the possibility Imus will soon return to the airwaves — on WABC in New York!]

    My point exactly!

Exploit Al, so he actually does something useful for once, and to ensure that Bill doesn't get "Imused".

Although for a $20 million payday....

You're right. Moveon.org and media matters are loony left liars, typical of their breed. The more ways to counter those athole fokkers the better.
