Liberal Blogger Meltdown Over Chocolate Jesus Removal

Liberal bloggers are attacking prominent Catholic groups because they were forced to remove their chocolate covered Jesus mockery from public display during Holy Week.

How dare Christians be offended that their religious symbols are mocked in public lobbies!

How dare they not allow the open-minded liberals to desecrate Christian symbols freely!
It's free speech, dambit!

The latest liberal blogger attack on the Catholic League President by Norwegianity
Those liberals sure do hate men of faith!
Hullabaloo says Piss Donohue:

I'm sorry to have to say this because I am generally pretty tolerant of religion and try to be respectful of others' beliefs. But until the Catholic Church steps up and says that this screaming nutcase Bill Donohue and his band of freaks don't speak for them, I'm going to have to assume that the Catholic Church agrees with his lunatic ravings...

Yes, it's a good thing these conservative Christians aren't like those horrible Muslims.

The fact that it is sculpted in chocolate is so offensive to Donohue's thugs that they are issuing death threats to those who display such alleged blasphemy.

Yes, it's a good thing these conservative Christians aren't like those horrible Muslims.

It's really too bad the artist didn't think to do it in cartoon form because the entire right wing would be in a frenzy defending his right to free speech. Indeed, he would have become a martyr for all of western civilization. Unapproved sculpting materials, on the other hand, are so far out that death threats are entirely appropriate.
I'm sorry... Did I miss the chocolate riots in downtown New York? Were the DNC headquarters torched? Were atheists clubbed in Central Park? Was an old hippie dragged from a coffee bar and stabbed in Greenwich during the latest Catholic riots?

It's obvious from this confused display of liberal logic that there are two things they do not understand:
Respect of Faith and Radical Islam.
Then again... The fact that they refuse to display anything like a Chocolate Mohammad at Ramadan shows that maybe they really do understand?

But, destroying Christianity is more in line with their mission...
So P*ss Donohue!

In case you were wondering...
Liberal bloggers detest Bill Donahue because he brought attention to the "anti-Catholic, vulgar, trash talking bigots" hired by John Edwards.
Rather than own up to this... The liberals attack the messenger!

Russia Reports US Will Be Ready to Hit Iran on Good Friday

Ria Novosti reports that the US has already practiced the maneuvers recently in the Persian Gulf.

The Russian source said it will be up to America's political leadership to decide if and when to attack.

The Jerusalem Post is reporting:

The United States will be ready to launch a missile attack on Iran's nuclear facilities as soon as early this month, perhaps "from 4 a.m. until 4 p.m. on April 6," according to reports in the Russian media on Saturday.

According to Russian intelligence sources, the reports said, the US has devised a plan to attack several targets in Iran, and an assault could be carried out by launching missiles from fighter jets and warships stationed in the Persian Gulf.

Russian news agency RIA Novosti quoted a security official as saying, "Russian intelligence has information that the US Armed Forces stationed in the Persian Gulf have nearly completed preparations for a missile strike against Iranian territory."

The Russian Defense Ministry rejected the claims of an imminent attack as "myths." There was no immediate response from Washington.

The reports come as the Iranian chief of staff, Hassan Fayrouz Abadi, was quoted on Saturday by Iran's Fars news agency warning leaders of Arab countries that Israel plans to open a "suicidal attack" on its neighbors this summer, to "prevent the withdrawal of the US troops from Iraq and the area."
Just two days ago Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said the United States is unprepared for a possible military campaign against Iran.

A Soldier's Video For Democrats... A Marine's Letter For Pelosi

A "Message to the Democratic Party Leadership", from Cpl. Christopher Edward Mason
82nd Airborne Paratrooper- Iraq
He was killed in "The War on Terrorism" by Al-Qaeda terrorist forces in a small town "Siniyah, Iraq." Chris was ambushed and killed by Al-Qaeda terrorist while he was moving into position to provide fire support for his fellow paratroopers. They had come under heavy small arms fire from Al-Qaeda forces and could not disengage. He died soon after being hit by an IED, but DOD has him being killed by small arms fire, during a firefight with Al-Qaeda at the same location. Bottom line is he was doing what needed to be done for his country...
But he left this moving video before he gave his life for his country:

AJ Strata posts this letter from a US marine Sergeant Krueger, USMC, to Speaker Pelosi:

A word from [Gunnery]Sergeant Krueger, USMC, to Speaker Pelosi

How can you even think of pushing forward legislation to set a withdrawal date for US forces from Iraq?

Do you know how much you embolden the insurgency here in Iraq? YOU ARE JEOPARDIZING THE LIVES OF US SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN WITH YOUR ACTIONS.

You and your fellow Democrats are causing the Al Qaeda supported insurgency to use more catastrophic attacks against us and Iraqi forces. You will see more SVBIED’s with chlorine gas, more VBIED’s against civilians and security forces every time you and other Democrats open your mouths.

You will have to live with yourself and try to sleep at night knowing all the defeatist propaganda you have spewed forth is nothing more than ammunition for Islamic extremist groups around the world and more US deaths.

The unsuspecting people who support you know nothing of what goes on over here; you fill their heads with nonsense and talk of pullout to appease them. The only thing that will happen is the establishment of an extremist Islamic state where sharia law is the law of the land and no one is safe.

Sunni Moslems here are coming to our side and joining forces with the government to defeat Al Qaeda(AQI) here in Iraq, but they need our help and they need us to stay. I have spent the last 7 months (3rd tour) in Iraq. I have watched Iraqi citizens pick up weapons and form militias in areas to join forces with Iraqi police/Army...
There is much more HERE.

Bush Speaks Out in Support of Great Britain (Video)

President Bush spoke out in support of Great Britain today calling for the release of 15 British sailors and marines being held by Iran. Bush said their capture by Tehran "inexcusable behavior."
(FOX Video 1 minute)

The action by Bush was unlike the House democrats who refused to support Great Britain saying, quote, "Inserting Congress into an international crisis while ongoing would not be helpful."

The House democratic leadership is currently off to Syria to "insert itself into an international crisis."

Meanwhile... Iran said today that the guilty British sailors and marines may be brought to trial and punished!

While in Iran... Protesters took to the streets yesterday after Friday prayers and pelted the British embassy in Tehran with debris.
(BTW- This embassy news didn't get any media attention.)

Leading Cleric Gives Pakistan One Week to Impose Sharia Law

A leading Pakistani cleric and leading idealogue of the Taliban is giving Pakistan one week to impose Sharia law.
The Daily Times reports:

ISLAMABAD: Maulana Abdul Aziz, the prayer leader at Lal Masjid and principal of Jamia Hafsa, on Friday gave the government a week’s deadline to “enforce Sharia” in the country, otherwise “clerics will Islamise society themselves”. “If the government does not impose Sharia within a week, we will do it,” Aziz told a gathering after Friday prayers.

Similarly, he gave the Islamabad administration a week to shut down “brothels”, otherwise “seminary students will take action themselves”. “If we find a woman with loose morals, we will prosecute her in Lal Masjid,” he said.

Sources told Daily Times that the Jamia Hafsa administration would compile a record of brothels and gambling dens over the week, and then launch a drive. They said the seminary believed these places were being run in collaboration with civil society organisations. “Jamia Hafsa will hold a conference on April 5-6 at Lal Masjid, where ulema will finalise a strategy against brothels and gambling dens,” said Aziz, adding that the drive would not be limited to Islamabad. mohammad imran
Maulana Abdul Aziz along with Ghazi Abdul Rasheed are two of leading ideologues for the Pakistani Taliban and were holed up in January after rumors of an impending air strike.

Nation of Islam Rep. Keith Ellison Joins Pelosi on Jerusalem Tour

Who is Keith Ellison?...
In 1997, when Joanne Jackson, executive director of the Minneapolis Initiative Against Racism (MIAR), allegedly said that, "Jews are among the most racist white people", Ellison, using his religious name Mohammed, read a statement supporting her on behalf of the The Minneapolis-St. Paul Study Group of the Nations of Islam: "[We] stand by Ms. Jackson. We stand by the truth contained in the remarks attributed to her, and by her right to express her view without sanction. Here is why we support Ms. Jackson: She is correct about Minister Farrakhan. He is not a racist. He is also not an anti-Semite."

In 2006, Ellison said... "Any kind of discrimination and hate are wrong. This has always been my position"

Today... The Minnesota Representative, identified as a member of the Nation of Islam in the Star Tribune, joined Nancy Pelosi on her tour of Jerusalem.

Rep. Keith Ellison toured Jerusalem today with Speaker Pelosi before their meetings later with Palestinian Hamas Government officials and the Assad government in Syria.
ABC News reported:

Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison said his presence as a Muslim on the trip sent a message to Israelis and Palestinians that "people can come together."

"Reconciliation is possible," he said.

Ellison, a Minnesota congressman, said he hoped to visit the compound above the Western Wall known as the Temple Mount to Jews and the Noble Sanctuary to Muslims. The compound, the site of the biblical temples as well as the third-holiest site in Islam, is one of the main points of friction between Israel and the Palestinians in the Middle East conflict.

"I haven't seen it yet, but I hope to, I'm really looking forward to it," Ellison said of the compound, which is also home to the Dome of Rock shrine.
Democrat Keith Ellison received thousands of dollars in donations from CAIR leaders in 2006 in support of his campaign.

More Fake News From Iraq Reported by the The New York Times

Edward Wong writing at The New York Times reported yesterday:

Iraqi police officials also said Friday that American helicopters conducted strikes in the early morning against a gathering of Shiite militiamen in an area east of the Baghdad neighborhood of Sadr City, the cleric's stronghold. At least 20 people were killed and wounded in the attack, said a police official. But a spokeswoman for the U.S. military said she had no reports of any such incident.

Iran Breaks Silence - Warns Region of Zionist Devil's Scheming

Chief of Staff of the Islamic Republic of Iran's armed forces, Major General Seyed Hassan Firooz Abadi warned Muslim leaders on the upcoming operations of the Zionists and neoconservatives for the region.
Fars News reports:

He continued, "Firstly, I warn the dear leaders and Muslim brothers in the neighboring countries of the occupied territories that this suicidal attack of the Zionists is threatening them."

The Iranian military official further stated that the plan intends to prevent withdrawal of the US troops from Iraq and the region and that it will pose a danger primarily to Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and Jordan and then Saudi Arabia and all other countries in the region.

He reminded that these were the Israeli Zionists who encouraged US administration to send troops to the region, adding, "And now that the US Senate, Congress and people have grown vigilant and realized that the Untied States' national interests are victimized for the Zionist devils and urge withdrawal of US troops from the region, Zionists and neoconservatives have devised a suicidal operation to justify extension of the mission of the US troops in the region."

Firooz Abadi warned that implementation of the said plan would inflict losses on Americans, westerners and Islamic countries.

After a Tearful Iraqi Ballad, Shada Hassoun Unites Iraq Winning Pan-Arab Idol!

Shada Hassoun, an Iraqi contestant in an Arab-world talent competition similar to American Idol has managed to unite her country like no government can.

The telecast smashed an Iraqi telecommunications record as seven million phone customers sent SMS messages for her to win, compared to an average of no more than 150,000 texts a day, said an official at company Iraqna.

That's more than one out of four Iraqis sending a text message in one night!

Pelosi & Dems Abandon Captured British Sailors & Marines!

Dorothy Reynolds sends this.

The madness continues...
Pelosi and Democrats REFUSE to write a letter of support to Great Britain over their hostage crisis!

...But, are willing to travel half the globe to meet with Syria and the Hamas-led Palestinian Government this weekend!

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) makes a point with former Secretary of Defense William Perry (R) standing near her as they speak to reporters about a new course in Iraq at the Capitol in Washington March 28, 2007. (Reuters)

Pelosi refused to give support to America's closest allies this week saying that "inserting Congress into an international crisis while ongoing would not be helpful." Besides she is too busy packing to go meet with the Syrians and Palestinian Government to care!
The AP reports:

WASHINGTON (AP) - Members of the House left Washington on Friday for their two-week spring break without weighing in on the international crisis tormenting the nation's closest ally: the capture of 15 British sailors and marines by Iran.

The omission by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is being noted by some Republicans, who say they should have gotten the chance to join the Senate in denouncing Tehran's bold actions.

"I am very disappointed that the speaker chose not to act," said Rep. Charles Dent, R-Pa.

"I believe it's important for us as Americans to show our solidarity with the Britons," he added in a phone interview Friday. "The British are our closest allies, and I think we have to stand next to them in a moment like this."

The Senate on Thursday, before adjourning for its one-week break, passed a resolution condemning the act "in the strongest possible terms" and calling for the sailors "immediate, safe and unconditional release."

Pelosi's spokesman Brendan Daly said the speaker was reluctant to weigh in on the incident without knowing that such a message would do more good than harm. Daly said the British government had not asked Congress to try to pressure Tehran.

"The leadership discussed it and agreed that inserting Congress into an international crisis while ongoing would not be helpful," Daly said.

Pelosi is traveling in the Middle East, where she plans to visit Syria, Israel and the West Bank.
Shocking! What a prime example of the democrat's ignorant and dangerous foreign policy actions!
Outrageous!

Powerline has more on the Pelosi danger.
Sister Toldjah is not so surprised.

"Death to UK" at Iranian Soccer Match

Kamangir has more on today's big match including a photo of the crowd.

Two of the biggest soccer teams met today in Iran. Kamangir describes the match:

The spectators shouted “Death to UK” before the match. A black banner was attached to the entrance of the stadium showing the text “Death to UK”.

Words of Warning- "Those Aren't Gifts"

From stoning to the persecution of teachers... Amil Imani offers words of warning today to the West in dealing with the mullahs of Iran at Iranian.com.

The whole thing is very good. Here is part:

It is worse than appeasement to negotiate a "deal" with the Iranian theocrats because any deal struck with these mullahs is only another ruse for them to further their plans. The UN resolutions are nothing more than pieces of paper good for fire, they can pass them all they want, president Ahmadinejad proclaims belligerently. These Islamists go by their 1400-year-old charter of Allah, the Qur'an the same charter that they hold in one hand while slashing the throat of an innocent infidel and yelling joyously "Allah is the greatest" the whole time.

To the misguided "Supreme Guide," mullah Ali Khamenei of Iran, a few words are in order. The civilized Iranians, descendants of Cyrus the Great, find you, mulla Ali, and your cabal of Islamists guilty of heinous crimes. A partial list of charges is given below.

Domestically

* You do not represent the Iranian people. You are a usurper of power. You are guilty of transforming a noble nation into a world pariah.

* You are denying and violating a long-suffering people all its human rights.

* You are guilty of beating, imprisoning and torturing a few dozen women who braved participating in a peaceful demonstration pleading for equal family rights, on the recent International Day of Women.

* You systematically beat, imprison, and torture all manners of citizens, from school teachers to students to union workers, for daring to raise their voices against the plight to which you have subjected them.

* You savagely beat and haul to your dungeons of torture and death over a thousand of the tens of thousands of teachers who had recently gathered in front of the parliament requesting nothing more than their back pay and living wages.

* You direct systematic genocidal measures against all non-Shia religious minorities, with Baha'is as prime target.

* You arrest some Christians, even your Quran calls "People of the Book," for observing Christmas.

* You implement barbaric practices of stoning, hanging and amputations for those who are convicted of crimes in your kangaroo courts without due process. You even imprison those few lawyers who rise in the defense of the innocent.

* You plunder, mismanage and dole out Iran's national wealth with the result that the great majority of the people are living in poverty. Iranian women are forced into prostitution to survive or simply sold as sex slaves in Persian Gulf states.

* Your fascist misrule of nearly three decades has driven millions of Iran's best children to four corners of the world. Hundreds of thousands of educated Iranians are compelled to continue the exodus, depriving Iran of the sorely-needed talents at home.

* You spend a fortune on the nuclear program that you claim is only aimed for peaceful purposes, while turning Iran into little more than a gas station nation, with its precious oil wealth squandered and its facilities on the verge of collapse through neglect.

* You have created a suffocating social atmosphere that has driven masses of the people to the use of hard drugs as a way of numbing their pain.

Internationally

* You look far and wide to support any and all terrorists. Your delusional theology mandates the creation of horrific conditions in the world so that your Hidden Imam is compelled to appear and establish his rule.

* You spare no efforts at sabotaging any settlement between the Palestinians and Israelis. You arm and train all Palestinian factions such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and any and all that come.

* You direct similar criminal schemes on your eastern flank, in Afghanistan. You consider any democratic system as the enemy of Islamofascism, and rightfully so.

* You work ceaselessly, expand Iran's stolen funds, and do all you can in support of your Shia co-fascists Hezbollah in Lebanon.

* Your hands are dripping with the blood of thousands of Iraqis, victims of your bloodthirsty kin mercenaries aiming to kill a budding democracy in Iraq next door.

* You supply your mercenaries with armor-piercing projectiles for killing and maiming the coalition forces in Iraq. Your cowardly killing by proxy, using these roadside planted bombs, has taken the lives of nearly 200 Americans.

* You interpret the highly subdued reactions of the coalition to your savage actions as indications of weakness. So, you find it in yourself to venture into direct confrontation by capturing lightly-armed British sailors and marines in Iraqi waters.
Someone should send a copy of this to Germany.

After Prayers... Iranian Protesters Attack British Embassy!

It must have been a hell of a sermon!

Iranian Fars News is reporting this from Tehran:

Following increased tensions between Tehran and London over the detention of 15 British marines who entered Iranian waters illegally and likely gatherings by protestors in front of the embassy compound, the police increased security measures and arrangements around the embassy here in Tehran on Friday.

According to FNA dispatches, different units of the Iranian law enforcement police have stationed in the northern and eastern sides of the British embassy while several police squads are guarding walls of the embassy building.

Thousands of protestors staged a rally following Tehran's Friday Prayers at Tehran University Campus to cry out their protest against the trespassing of Iranian waters by the British troops. Protestors called for the trial of the trespassers.

Actually, here is a bit of the sermon given in Tehran before the attacks:

Addressing a large crowd of woshippers at his sermon, he (Friday Prayers Leader Hojatoleslam Seyed Ahmad Khatami) said that the issue is quite clear, given that two British vessels trespassing Iran's borders and territorial waters were stopped by Iranian marine guards and the servicemen aboard were arrested.

"Based on firm documents, the British sailors have already violated Iran's borders several times and in some cases they have apologized and vowed not to repeat such measures.

"Based on the information obtained from the British Global Positioning System (GPS), the arrested British servicemen themselves admitted to trespassing Iran's territorial waters," he added.
He certainly sounds like a man filled with the spirit!

Kamangir also describes the scene at the soccer match today where the crowd shouted "Death to the UK" before the big game.

These "after prayer" actions do seem a bit odd on the day that the UNHRC passes a resolution not "to identify Islam with terrorism, violence and human rights violations."

UN Human Rights Council Bans Language "Linking Islam to Terror"

It's not just the EU who is banning the use of the word "jihad"...
Today, the UN Human Rights Council voted to ban "attempts to identify Islam with terrorism."

The UNHRC banned blasphemous and offensive donkey cartoons today.

The UN Human Rights Council banned (Islamic) religious defamation today:

GENEVA (AP)--Islamic countries pushed through a resolution at the U.N. Human Rights Council Friday urging a global prohibition on the public defamation of religion - a response largely to the furor last year over caricatures published in a Danish newspaper of the Prophet Muhammad.

The statement proposed by the Organization of Islamic Conference addressed what it called a "campaign" against Muslim minorities and the Islamic religion around the world since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States.

The resolution, which was opposed by European and a number of other non-Muslim countries, "expresses deep concern at attempts to identify Islam with terrorism, violence and human rights violations."

It makes no mention of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism or any other religion besides Islam, but urges countries "to take resolute action to prohibit the dissemination of racist and xenophobic ideas and material aimed at any religion or its followers that constitute incitement and religious hatred, hostility, or violence."

Iran, whose President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has repeatedly called for Israel to be "wiped off the map," belongs to the 57-member Islamic conference.
Here is the Resolution language approved by the UN Human Rights Council. It was proposed by members of the Organization of Islamic States (OIS):

Action on Resolution on Combating Defamation of Religions

In a resolution (A/HRC/4/L.12) on Combating defamation of religions, adopted by a vote of 24 in favour, 14 against, and nine abstentions, as orally amended, the Council expresses deep concern at attempts to identify Islam with terrorism, violence and human rights violations; notes with deep concern the intensification of the campaign of defamation of religions, and the ethnic and religious profiling of Muslim minorities, in the aftermath of the tragic events of 11 September 2001; urges States to take resolute action to prohibit the dissemination including through political institutions and organizations of racist and xenophobic ideas and material aimed at any religion or its followers that constitute incitement to racial and religious hatred, hostility or violence; also urges States to provide adequate protection against acts of hatred, discrimination, intimidation and coercion resulting from defamation of religions, to take all possible measures to promote tolerance and respect for all religions and their value systems and to complement legal systems with intellectual and moral strategies to combat religious hatred and intolerance; further urges all States to ensure that all public officials, including members of law enforcement bodies, the military, civil servants and educators, in the course of their official duties, respect different religions and beliefs and do not discriminate against persons on the grounds of their religion or belief, and that any necessary and appropriate education or training is provided; invites the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance to regularly report on all manifestations of defamation of religions and in particular on the serious implications of Islamophobia on the enjoyment of all rights; and requests the High Commissioner for Human Rights to report to the Human Rights Council on the implementation of this resolution at its sixth session.

The result of the vote was as follows:

In favour (24): Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cameroon, China, Cuba, Djibouti, Gabon, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Pakistan, Philippines, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Tunisia.

Against (14): Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, Republic of Korea, Romania, Switzerland, Ukraine and United Kingdom.

Abstentions (9): Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Ghana, India, Nigeria, Peru, Uruguay and Zambia.

Dems Finding It Hard To Wage Two Wars... In Iraq & On Bush

It's pretty obvious by now which enemy the democrats and their media are focusing on... and it's not in Iraq.

Charles Krauthammer today quotes the directionless Speaker of the House earlier this month:

"Our bill calls for the redeployment of U.S. troops out of Iraq so that we can focus more fully on the real war on terror, which is in Afghanistan."

-- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, March 8
Krauthammer continues:

The Senate and the House have both passed bills for ending the Iraq war, or at least liquidating the American involvement in it. The resolutions, approved by the barest majorities, were underpinned by one unmistakable theme: wrong war, wrong place, distracting us from the real war that is elsewhere.

Where? In Afghanistan. The emphasis on Afghanistan echoed across the Democratic side of the aisle in Congress from Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee to former admiral and Rep. Joe Sestak. It is a staple of the three leading Democratic candidates for the presidency, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards. It is the refrain of their last presidential candidate, John Kerry, and of their current party leader, Howard Dean, who complains that "we don't have enough troops in Afghanistan. That's where the real war on terror is."

Of all the arguments for pulling out of Iraq, the greater importance of Afghanistan is the least serious.

And not just because this argument assumes that the world's one superpower, which spends more on defense every year than the rest of the world combined, does not have the capacity to fight an insurgency in Iraq as well as in Afghanistan. But because it assumes that Afghanistan is strategically more important than Iraq.

Thought experiment: Bring in a completely neutral observer -- a Martian -- and point out to him that the United States is involved in two hot wars against radical Islamic insurgents. One is in Afghanistan, a geographically marginal backwater with no resources and no industrial or technological infrastructure. The other is in Iraq, one of the three principal Arab states, with untold oil wealth, an educated population, an advanced military and technological infrastructure that, though suffering decay in the later years of Saddam Hussein's rule, could easily be revived if it falls into the right (i.e., wrong) hands. Add to that the fact that its strategic location would give its rulers inordinate influence over the entire Persian Gulf region, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the Gulf states. Then ask your Martian: Which is the more important battle? He would not even understand why you are asking the question.

Al-Qaeda has provided the answer many times. Osama bin Laden, the one whose presence in Afghanistan (or some cave on the border) presumably makes it the central front in the war on terror, has been explicit that "the most . . . serious issue today for the whole world is this Third World War that is raging in Iraq." Al-Qaeda's No. 2, Ayman Zawahiri, has declared that Iraq "is now the place for the greatest battle of Islam in this era."

And it's not just what al-Qaeda says, it's what al-Qaeda does. Where are they funneling the worldwide recruits for jihad? Where do all the deranged suicidists who want to die for Allah gravitate? It's no longer Afghanistan but Iraq. That's because they recognize the greater prize.
Sad, but even headlines like this one by Reuters today will be totally ignored by the democrats and their media lackeys:

Bloody week in Iraq points to emboldened al Qaeda

Iraq Captures Major Iranian Arms Trafficker!

The US media is reporting that the hidden al-Sadr again is condemning the US presence in Iraq as if this is anything new.

Meanwhile... ADN Kronos reported this news from Sadr City:

Baghdad, 30 March (AKI) - The Iraqi authorities have arrested a man they believe to be a major trafficker in arms, particularly bombs, coming from Iran, a US spokesman in Baghdad said on Friday. The man, whose identity has not been released, was arrested in the mainly Shiite stronghold of Sadr City in the capital. He is accused of being a middle man between groups of Iraqi insurgents and the al-Quds battalion of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

No arms were found in the house of the 58 year father of six, but police found large sums of cash, various laptop computers and two satellite phones.

Earlier this month, special Iraqi army units captured an alleged weapons smuggler during operations with coalition forces in the southern city of Basra. The suspect reportedly funneled weapons and improvised explosive devices for use in attacks against Iraqi and Coalition Forces.
Multi-National Force Iraq website has more on the arrest of the major arms trafficker:

The suspect is believed to be involved with several violent extremist groups responsible for attacks against the Iraqi people and Coalition Forces and facilitating the movement of EFPs into Iraq.

“Iraqi and Coalition Forces are continually working to degrade extremist operations which are unrelenting against the innocent Iraqi people and the government of Iraq,” said Lt. Col. Christopher Garver, MNF-I spokesperson.

Iran Continues to Parade British Hostages; UN Balks (Video)

Iran continues their parade of prisoners...
The BBC has video of Iranian hostage Nathan Thomas Summers HERE.

Royal Marine rifleman Nathan Thomas Summers shown in a video that aired on Iranian TV. (FOX)

MEMRI posted the latest Iranian propaganda clip on YouTube (via LGF):
(1 minute 42 seconds)

Iran released a video of a second British soldier apologizing for trespassing into Iranian waters.
Fox News reports:

TEHRAN, Iran — One of the 15 British service members held captive in Iran appeared Friday on the government's Arabic-language TV and apologized for entering Iranian waters "without permission."

Iran also released a third letter supposedly from the only woman in the group saying she has been "sacrificed" to the policies of the British and U.S. governments.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair, whose government has insisted that its navy personnel were captured in Iraqi waters, immediately denounced Iran's treatment of the captured navy personnel and said it would only lead to further isolation for Iran. The standoff has added to tensions over Iran's nuclear ambitions and over allegations that Iran is arming Shiite Muslim militias in Iraq.

"I don't know why the Iranian regime keeps doing this, all it does it heightens people's sense of disgust. Captured personnel being paraded and manipulated in this way, it doesn't fool anyone," he said in a brief statement. "And what the Iranians have to realize is that if they continue in this way they will face continued isolation."

In the video Friday, Royal Marine rifleman Nathan Thomas Summers was shown sitting with another male serviceman and the female British sailor Faye Turney against a pink floral curtain. Both men wore camouflage fatigues with a label saying "Royal Navy" on their chests and a small British flag stitched to their left sleeves. Turney wore a blue jumpsuit and a black headscarf.

"Again I deeply apologize for entering your waters," Summers said in the clip broadcast on Al-Alam television. "We trespassed without permission."

It was not known whether the marine spoke under pressure from his captors, but Summers said in the broadcast "our treatment has been very friendly."

Iran earlier broadcast a video showing Turney saying her team had "trespassed" in Iranian waters, and on Friday released a third letter from her.

The first two letters attributed to Turney said she was sorry the crew strayed into Iranian waters and asked if it wasn't time for Britain to withdraw its troops from Iraq. The first letter was wooden; the second and third had language that was even more stilted.

"I am writing to you as a British serviceperson who has been sent to Iraq, sacrificed due to the intervening policies of the Bush and Blair governments," the letter Friday said.

The British Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett said there was nothing in a formal letter from the Iranians to the UK that suggested they were looking for a solution to this situation.

Meanwhile, a week after the illegal capture of the British sailors and marines, the UN could not get itself to condemn Iran. Russia was having difficulty with the original British text.
(2 minutes)

There is still no immediate UN resolution in sight.

Where's the uproar over the abuse of the Geneva Conventions?

Iranian Bazteb News reports that Summers not only apologized for his actions but for the actions of British sailors in 2004 who allegedly crossed into Iranian waters.

Hillary Clinton: "I Am Proud to Be a Feminist"

Hillary Clinton, a proud feminist, spoke to the National Organization of Women on Wednesday where she gained their endorsement.
This is how she defined herself via WCCO:

Clinton received the endorsement of the National Organization for Women, a group of half a million members who support feminist candidates for elective office.

Asked if she viewed herself as a feminist, Clinton said by the standard definition, yes.

"If you look in the dictionary, the word feminist means someone who believes in equal rights for women in society, in the economy, the political process -- generally believes in the equality of women. And I certainly believe in the equality of women," she said.

Her response was met with enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.

The New York senator and Democratic front-runner has launched a nationwide outreach to women voters, who are a majority of the electorate. The NOW endorsement was expected, and the Clinton campaign hopes the group's membership will strengthen the ranks of campaign volunteers and supporters.

The senator is trying to smash the highest glass ceiling in the nation by becoming the first woman elected president. Part of a generation of women who expanded opportunities for women in the workplace, she has sought to frame her current campaign as a historic event.

"This is really an emotional moment for me..." Clinton said.

Palestinian President Abbas Warns Israel of New War

This Palestinian cartoon makes clear that the Palestinians just want peace. And, if Israel will not accept their proposed conditions, there will be hell to pay. (Maan News)

President Abbas warned Israel today of a new war if they did not accept the peace plan that was discussed in Saudi Arabia this week.
Arutz Sheva reports:

(IsraelNN.com) Israel would be well advised to team up with the Palestinian Authority under the 2002 Arab peace plan, says PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas – and well advised to raise its alert status if it does not.

Abbas accused Israel of “seeking to avoid the realization of peace” by insisting on changes to the plan authored five years ago by Saudi Arabian King Abdullah.

The plan calls for Israel to withdraw from all the lands recovered during the 1967 Six Day War, including Judea, Samaria, the Golan Heights and half of Jerusalem.

It also calls for Israel to allow millions of Arab descendants of those who fled the country during the 1948 War of Independence to be allowed to immigrate to Israel. The Jewish State has rejected this clause absolutely.

He warned, however, that if Israel did not accept the Arab peace plan, “The entire region will be under renewed threats of war [and] explosions, as well as regional and international confrontations, as a result of the absence of a solution or the impossibility of implementing one.”
Abbas also warned the US and the world to start dealing with the Palestinian government... or else.

Kucinich & Dems Will Investigate 9-11- "Questions Still Remain"

It really doesn't matter how many times Al Qaeda confesses to 9-11...

There are still those who will not accept this fact.

Didn't Al Qaeda operative Khalid Shaikh Mohammed just confess: "I was responsible for the 9/11 operation from A to Z." ...????

Then why is Rosie O'Donnell insisting it was an inside job?

And, now Rep. Dennis Kucinich and democrats are going to investigate the 9-11 attacks for "discrepancies in the public record!"
TimesUnion.com reports:

(Kucinich) said that as chairman of a House subcommittee on domestic policy, he plans to launch an investigation of "a narrow portion" of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He offered few details, but said his subcommittee would be looking at "a few, specific discrepancies in the public record."

The 9/11 Commission that published its final report in 2004 never resolved some conflicting facts, Kucinich said. He announced his own look at 9/11 in answer to a question from an audience member. The man complained that the 9/11 Commission was too tied to the Bush administration to offer an unbiased report, and Kucinich agreed.
This has the America-hating nuts at 911Truth.org ecstatic to say the least.

Democrats Vote to Leave Iraq- 34 Years After the US Left Vietnam... To the Day (Video)

Democrats today voted to leave Iraq.
34 years ago today, the US left Vietnam.

(3 minute video)

58,193 Americans were killed in action during the Vietnam War before the US left the country to the communists.

An estimated 250,000 Vietnamese perished at sea after the US pulled support.

The boat people:

More than one million people became refugees after the fall of South Vietnam. Many perished, and others, upon reaching other Southeast Asian countries, discovered they could not remain permanently. The United States, Canada, and other nations accepted most of the refugees in the late 1970s and the 1980s. It was estimated that up to 25% of those who left Vietnam have perished in the stormy seas.

Democrats Refuse to Support British Hostages!!

** Democrats stoop to new low in foreign policy! **

You won't believe what the democratic majority is doing to our closest ally the Brits and the 15 British sailors and marines held hostage by Iran in their time of need!

Faye Turney, the only woman crew member of the 15 British sailors and marines detained at sea last week, is seen on Iranian television March 28, 2007. (Reuters)
Faye is the mother of one, a baby girl named Molly.

You just won't believe this.
As reported at Powerline (via Sean Hannity) this afternoon:

A resolution has been proposed in the House of Representatives that condemns Iran for the seizure of British sailors and marines, expresses support for our British allies. It's hard to see anything controversial in that. But apparently, the resolution has languished all week while Pelosi refuses to allow it to come to the floor.

Earlier today, Congressman Eric Cantor wrote the following letter to Pelosi:

Dear Madam Speaker:

Fifteen kidnapped British marines and sailors recently became the latest victims of a systematic Iranian campaign of terror and international defiance. The illegal seizure of the British forces is a signal that Iran views us as powerless to prevent it from realizing its aggressive ambitions.

For the sake of our standing in the world, our allies and most importantly the 15 British personnel and their families, I urge you to bring H. Res. 267 to the floor today before we adjourn. The resolution calls for the immediate and unconditional release of the British marines and sailors. It would also call on the U.N. Security Council to not only condemn the seizure, but to explore harsher sanctions to counter the growing Iranian threat.
A Republican Congressional staffer writes:

It is simply staggering to me that Pelosi refuses to stand beside America's closest ally. I literally would not have thought this possible, until I saw it this week.
Staggering, indeed.
But... Democrats did have time today to vote for the largest tax increase in our contry's history!

And, Kerry and his minions set new restrictions on political speech.

The Basij are a branch of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The Iranian News today offered its latest list of British transgressions:

Let's have a brief look at violations of Iranian territory by the British armed forces:
1. British unmanned reconnaissance plane RPV violated Iranian airspace in northeastern Abadan in June 2004 and was hit by Iranian anti-aircraft guns. RPV debris is available.

2. At 11 O'clock local time on June 22, 2004, three British speed boats with eight navy personnel on board trespassed Iranian borders and were arrested by Iranian coast guards.

3. At 21:30 local time on November 1, 2006, two British Black awks (choppers) from Royal Navy hovered at the height of 150 meters at 47,700-17,400 coordinates on Khorramshahr map (Pole-No: new bridge) violating Iranian airspace and they entered Iraqi territory through 62,500-15,500 coordinates after 10 minutes.

4. On January 27, 2007 a British helicopter flew over mouth of Arvandrud (Arvand river) and violated Iran's airspace and they left the area after a warning from Iranian coast guards.

5. Three British Navy boats entered Khor Mousa mouth in Iranian territorial waters on February 28, 2007.

The sixth was trespass of two British Navy boats with 15 marines on board into Iranian territorial waters at Arvandrud which led to their arrest by Iranian coast guards.
The Iranian regime blamed the harsh rhetoric of the Brits for the suspension of freedom of Faye Turney.

Sasquatch Lives!... Votes Democrat!

Today the Washington Post brings you another example of scary biased reporting. Today's article by Michael Waldman and Justin Levitt discusses the "alleged" voter fraud problem in this country.

The WaPo says, of course, that the country has no problem with voter fraud...
And, that finding voter fraud is as likely as finding Sasquatch!

"Would you like assistance with the electronic machines, Madam?"
Reliapundit passes on this monstrosity from today's Washington Post:
The Myth Of Voter Fraud

As Congress probes the firing of eight U.S. attorneys, attention is centering on who knew what, and when. It's just as important to focus on "why," such as the reason given for the firing of at least one of the U.S. attorneys, John McKay of Washington state: failure to prosecute the phantom of individual voter fraud.

Allegations of voter fraud -- someone sneaking into the polls to cast an illicit vote -- have been pushed in recent years by partisans seeking to justify proof-of-citizenship and other restrictive ID requirements as a condition of voting. Scare stories abound on the Internet and on editorial pages, and they quickly become accepted wisdom.

But the notion of widespread voter fraud, as these prosecutors found out, is itself a fraud. Firing a prosecutor for failing to find wide voter fraud is like firing a park ranger for failing to find Sasquatch. Where fraud exists, of course, it should be prosecuted and punished. (And politicians have been stuffing ballot boxes and buying votes since senators wore togas; Lyndon Johnson won a 1948 Senate race after his partisans famously "found" a box of votes well after the election.) Yet evidence of actual fraud by individual voters is painfully skimpy.
Interesting that the authors talk about the close Washington State Gubernatorial Race in 2004 but don't mention the fact that there were more votes counted in King County than voters who live there.

Funny they fly over the St. Louis region where at least 16 democrats were arrested, convicted and sentenced for election crimes (and attempted murder of a federal witness) following the 2004 race alone... But, no Yeti sightings.

Election officials launched an investigation in 2004 after noticing that among the "new" voters registered was longtime Alderman Albert "Red" Villa, who died in 1990. His bust stands in South St. Louis. Local democratic operatives were hoping to revive his career.

In Missouri alone, prior to the 2006 elections, ACORN workers were indicted for turning in 35,000 questionable registration forms!

Sorry, WaPo... Sasquatch may not have visited the polling stations Yet(i), but despite your biased reporting, there are oodles of democrats sentenced and convicted for voter crimes!

I Talked With the Justice Department... This Is What They Said...

Obviously, the US Attorney news has not been clear and counting on the mainstream media at this point to give accurate and unbiased information is just ridiculous...

Here is just one example of the conflicting news reports:
From Mike Glover at the Associated Press on March 26, 2007, defending Bill and Hillary Clinton's US Attorney mass dump:

The government's 93 U.S. attorneys are presidential appointees who can be hired and fired at will. Presidents generally replace all of their predecessor's prosecutors at the start of their administrations, and midterm firings of multiple U.S. attorneys are unusual.

Ronald Reagan fired all sitting U.S. attorneys when he took office in 1981 and Bill Clinton did the same.
But, the Opinion Journal reported this on March 14, 2007:

In fact, the dismissals were unprecedented: Previous Presidents, including Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter, had both retained holdovers from the previous Administration and only replaced them gradually as their tenures expired. This allowed continuity of leadership within the U.S. Attorney offices during the transition.
The LA Times spun it this way to make it sound as if what President Clinton did was no different than his predecessor:

Reagan replaced 89 of the 93 U.S. attorneys in his first two years in office. Clinton also had 89 new U.S. attorneys in his first two years, while Bush had 88 new U.S. attorneys in his first two years in office.
* * * * *
So, I called the Justice Department and the following is a collection of information on what I found out.
First, this is what the AP reported back in 1993 on the day that Janet Reno delivered the news to the sitting US Attorneys:

All U.S. attorneys held over from the previous administration were asked today to submit their resignations so President Clinton can put its own people in place, Attorney General Janet Reno said.

She also said she would push for legislation to give federal agencies a larger role in protecting women's abortion rights. A recent Supreme Court decision undercut some federal authority to intervene, she said.

On the future of FBI Director William Sessions, Ms. Reno said she was still reviewing his case. He was hit with a critical Office of Professional Responsibility report shortly before Clinton became president. Administration officials have said privately that Sessions is almost certain to be replaced, but Clinton told reporters at an early afternoon news conference that he has not decided whether to replace the FBI director.

Holding her first news conference since being sworn in a week and a half ago, Reno said the administration was asking for the resignations "so that the U.S. attorneys presently in position will know where they stand and that we can begin to build a team that represents a Department of Justice that represents my views and the views of President Clinton."

U.S. attorneys serve at the pleasure of the president, but the "vast majority" of the more than 90 posts are still being held by Republican holdovers who have stayed on past Clinton's inauguration, said a Justice Department official.

There is a similar article from The New York Times HERE.

Here is another report from The New York Times in 1993:

With vacancies delaying almost every Clinton initiative, career prosecutors at the department were stunned when Ms. Reno called on Tuesday for the resignations of all United States Attorneys, an action that was expected to take place gradually, not in a mass dismissal.

Administration efforts to explain the decision have left confusion. Ms. Reno did not make clear when she expected the United States Attorneys to leave. Several of the 77 who have not already left say they were told that she wanted them out within two weeks.
On Wednesday, Dee Dee Myers, the White House press secretary, said that the impression of a wholesale change-over was wrong and that the transition would be gradual. But today, George Stephanopoulos, the White House director of communications, said that some prosecutors who were in the midst of trials would not be dismissed. He added, "I think the bulk of them will be replaced over the next several weeks."
And, here is more on Reagan from The New York Times:

President Reagan has been in office less than seven months and he has replaced fewer than one-fourth of the 94 United States attorneys.
The Washington Post wrote this in May 1981:

Of the 94 U.S. attorneys, 31 have resigned, two have died and 15 more have submitted their resignations.

This means that about half those still in office, who must prosecute a rising tide of federal cases, are either lame ducks or acting U.S. attorneys who lack the political clout of a presidential appointment.

From this collection of articles and the conversations I had with a Justice Department official this is what I can report.

Clinton's actions in 1993 were shocking and unprecedented. For the AP to equate what Clinton did to Ronald Reagan's easing out the previous administration's attorneys is biased and dishonest.

But, don't be surprised to see this line repeated by the mainstream news anyway. It's not about accurate reporting anymore.

Also, both the Clinton and Reagan Administration as well as the current Bush administration agree to this definition (on the mission of US Attorneys), "United States Attorneys are appointed by, and serve at the discretion of, the President of the United States..."

Busted! Feinstein Grants Husband's Firms Billions in Contracts

Talk about a scandal!
Beto sends this unbelievable news:

First there was this...

Senator Feinstein's Iraq Conflict

In the November 2006 election, the voters demanded congressional ethics reform. And so, the newly appointed chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., is now duly in charge of regulating the ethical behavior of her colleagues. But for many years, Feinstein has been beset by her own ethical conflict of interest, say congressional ethics experts.

As chairperson and ranking member of the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee (MILCON) from 2001 through the end of 2005, Feinstein supervised the appropriation of billions of dollars a year for specific military construction projects. Two defense contractors whose interests were largely controlled by her husband, financier Richard C. Blum, benefited from decisions made by Feinstein as leader of this powerful subcommittee.
Now, this...
Feinstein Resigns

SEN. Dianne Feinstein has resigned from the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee. As previously and extensively reviewed in these pages, Feinstein was chairperson and ranking member of MILCON for six years, during which time she had a conflict of interest due to her husband Richard C. Blum's ownership of two major defense contractors, who were awarded billions of dollars for military construction projects approved by Feinstein.
Could you even imagine if this would have been Dick Cheney?
He'd be swinging from a cherry tree by now.
Unreal!

Do you suppose there will be any House investigation on this suspicious activity?... Hardly!

Radical Islamic Sect Implicated in Death of Cricket Coach Woolmer!

Last week there were reports on how pious the Pakistani cricket team had become before this year's World Cup.

... Now, after the murder of coach Bob Woolmer, there are reports that many of the Pakistani players are tied to a radical Islamic group!

Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, left, stands beside Pakistan World Cup cricket coach Bob Woolmer in this August 8, 2006 file photo. Two Pakistani team members were being questioned Saturday March 24, 2007 by Jamaican police investigating the murder of World Cup cricket coach Bob Woolmer, but the men have not been detained, according to the team's spokesman. Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and assistant coach Mushtaq Ahmed were being questioned by Jamaican investigators in the Montego Bay hotel where the cricket team is staying, spokesman Pervez Jamil Mir told reporters. (AP Photo/ Gareth Fuller)

South Asia Analysis Group reported this news yesterday:

Did Pakistani cricket coach Bob Woolmer's criticism of the growing influence of the Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) of Pakistan, a jihadi organisation, on many players of the Pakistani cricket team contribute to his brutal murder after Pakistan lost to Ireland in the current World Cup Cricket Tournament in the West Indies?

2. Coinciding with the inauguration of the tournament, Amir Mir, the well-known Pakistani columnist, had written a disturbing article on the growing influence of the TJ on many members of the Pakistani cricket team and its negative impact on the performance of the team in recent years. His article did not receive the attention it deserved. The text of it is available in the "Post" of March 16,2007. Its salient points are as under:

** Pakistani cricketeers have never pursued their religious beliefs as devoutly as they do nowadays. This religiousity has come about because a clutch of players---Inzimam (the captain), Mushtaq Ahmed (the bowling coach), Mohammad Yousaf, Saqlain Mushtaq, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, and Yasser Hameed--- have become members of the TJ. They participate in public gatherings organised by the TJ to preach Islam and stress the virtue of an authentic Islamic lifestyle.

** The TJ has invaded the dressing room of the Pakistani cricket team. They (the clerics of the TJ) can be seen praying with the players and reciting the Holy Koran for the team's success. As TJ membership makes it obligatory for a member to preach, most of the TJ cricketeers---especially Inzimam---often undertake preaching tours across Pakistan.

** Inzimam's penchant to mix religion with cricket has already sparked accusations that he favours TJ players over those considered secular. The non-TJ group in the team is led by Vice-Captain Younas Khan and includes Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Asif, Danish Kaneria, Imran Nazir and Abdul Razzaq.

** Though Inzimam is said to detest Shoaib for his indisciplined ways, some in the team feel the real reason is because Shoaib drinks Scotch and likes the night clubs.
One Jerusalem has much more.

Maine Remembers a Military Hero... Sgt. Jason Swiger

Army Sgt. Jason Swiger was killed in Iraq this week.
He was handing out candy to children when he was killed by a suicide bomber on a bike.

Army Sgt. Jason Swiger is shown. Swiger a soldier from the 82nd Airborne Division was killed in Iraq, reportedly while passing out candy to children, the victim's sister said Monday, March 26, 2007. Swiger of South Portland, Maine, was one of four soldiers who left the protection of their Humvee to hand out candy to a group of Iraqi children when a suicide bomber on a scooter detonated an explosive, said Swiger's sister, Angelica Cole. Much thanks to Dave Stoll for forwarding this very touching story:

A couple days ago a paratrooper linked to A Company Second Brigade was lost in Iraq named Sgt. Jason Swiger. He was from South Portland, Maine.

My son is a recruiter in the Portland area after doing 3 tours in Iraq with A Company 2/325 82nd. The trooper's mother is someone we all should know, ckeck out the link. This "grieving mother" came and thanked recruiter who had signed up her son and thanked the recuiters (especially those with jump wings) for all they had done to keep this country safe!!!!!

My son could not believe what he was hearing!!!!! The 82nd is sending a burial detachment up for the funeral, 300 patriot guards are coming because about a week ago some of the nuts from Kansas showed up in Maine at the funeral of a fallen Marine. My son spent the rest of the day helping the mother (and the rest of the recuiting office) put up yellow ribbons all over the city of South Portland, Me.

As you will see from the videos this is another mother to counter Cindy Sheehan. This is someone who deserves some national attention.
Dave Stoll
WMTW Maine has a wonderful story (HERE) on the mother of Sgt. Jason Swiger an American hero.

Sgt. Jason Swiger was very proud of his work. Maine Today interviewed Jason back in 2003 after his first deployment to Iraq.

Sgt. Swiger just wanted to make the world a better place.
The Charlotte Observer reported:

A soldier from the 82nd Airborne Division was killed in Iraq, reportedly while passing out candy to children, the victim's sister said Monday.

Army Sgt. Jason Swiger of South Portland was one of four soldiers who left the protection of their Humvee to hand out candy to a group of Iraqi children when a suicide bomber on a scooter detonated an explosive, said Swiger's sister, Angelica Cole.

"He was just trying to make the world a better place. I have two small children and he would talk about how he wanted it to be safer for them," Cole said. "In that situation, getting out of the Humvee to pass out candy, you could see him doing that."
Rest in Peace, Sgt Jason Swiger.

Alert: Likely Skunk in the Tal Afar Press Room (Updated)

Wait and see. You can bet there's much more to this massacre story...
This story looks like another media hoaxer like the 6 Sunni story that was fabricated or the Ramadi soccer field slaughter that was made up.

So far this morning the Tal Afar massacre story has been reprinted some 763 times.
This horrific Tal Afar massacre story was reported this morning by Sinan Salaheddin of the AP:

BAGHDAD - Shiite militants and police enraged by massive truck bombings in the northwestern town of Tal Afar went on a revenge spree against Sunni residents there Wednesday, killing as many as 60 people, officials said.

The gunmen began roaming Sunni neighborhoods in the city, shooting at residents and homes, according to police and a local Sunni politician.

Ali al-Talafari, a Sunni member of the local Turkomen Front Party, said the Iraqi army had arrested 18 policemen accused of being involved after they were identified by the Sunni families targeted. But he said the attackers included Shiite militiamen.

He said more than 60 Sunnis had been killed, but a senior hospital official in Tal Afar put the death toll at 45, with four wounded.

The hospital official, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to security concerns, said the victims were men between the ages of 15 and 60, and they were killed with a shot to the back of the head.

Police said earlier dozens of Sunnis were killed or wounded, but they had no precise figures, and communications problems made it difficult to reach them for an update. The shooting continued for more than two hours, the officials said.

Army troops later moved into the Sunni areas to stop the violence and a curfew was slapped on the entire town, according to Wathiq al-Hamdani, the provincial police chief and his head of operations, Brig. Abdul-Karim al-Jibouri.

"The situation is under control now," said al-Hamdani. "The local Tal Afar police have been confined to their bases and policemen from Mosul are moving there to replace them."
So why would you question this horrible massacre story?
Here's one reason:
Because the Associated Press claims that the Shiites were "enraged by massive truck bombings in the northwestern town of Tal Afar". However, media accounts about the truck bombings that murdered the innocents in the Tal Afar market the day before were reportedly against "Anti-Qaeda Sunni forces".
Here's an account from Reuters:

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Suspected al Qaeda militants in Iraq killed 21 people on Tuesday in bomb attacks targeting Sunni Arab tribes who have formed an alliance against the hardline Islamist group, officials said.
If Tuesday's attacks targeted anti-Qaeda Sunnis, why would Shiite policemen go on a execution style rampage in the city???
This smells like a skunk!

MNF-Iraq does not have anything posted on this story at this time.

Update: The Tal Afar Story Evolves...
Again from the AP and SINAN SALAHEDDIN:

Shiite militants and police enraged by massive truck bombings in Tal Afar went on a revenge spree against Sunni residents in the northwestern town Wednesday, killing as many as 60 people, officials said.

The gunmen roamed Sunni neighborhoods in the city through the night, shooting at residents and homes, according to police and a local Sunni politician.

Witnesses said relatives of the Shiite victims in the truck bombings broke into the Sunni homes and killed the men inside or dragged them out and shot them in the streets.

Ali al-Talafari, a Sunni member of the local Turkomen Front Party, said the Iraqi army had arrested 18 policemen accused of being involved after they were identified by the Sunni families targeted. But he said the attackers included Shiite militiamen.
Notice how now the story has evolved into a massacre of "Shiite militia" and policemen!
Keep an eye open for more changes to the story.
IraqSlogger reports that Al-Maliki is investigating into whether police were involved in the rampage.

Update 2: Reuters has a different spin:

Gunmen rampaged through a Sunni district of the northwestern Iraqi town of Tal Afar overnight, killing about 50 people in reprisal for bombings in a Shi'ite area, Iraqi officials said on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, a Shi'ite, ordered an inquiry into reports the gunmen included policemen from his Shi'ite- dominated security forces, an official in his office said.
Gunmen... not police.
There are no pictures yet of the violence or suffering from Tal Afar several hours after the massacre; just maps...

Map locating Iraq's northern town of Tal Afar, where at least 45 people were shot dead.(AFP graphic)

Update 3: Confederate Yankee believes the story is at it appears- a horrible slaughter by Shia policemen. I do thank him for the Ramadi tip which I took down. And, Confederate Yankee is a terrific investigator.

But, here's the point...
There is a HUGE difference between "Shiite policemen" dragging Sunnis from their homes and executing them, and "Shiite militants" or "militants in police uniforms" executing the Sunnis.

There are still too many questions about this story to know for sure.
Right now it is still not clear what happened.
I wrote MNF-Iraq to ask about this tragedy and have not heard back as of 10:00 PM CST.

Also, just because al-Maliki sent in an investigation team means nothing at this point.
And, there are still no pictures from Tal Afar which is common after an attack with the media we have operating there.
I'm not convinced.

Update 4: It looks like I may have been off a bit on this one. Although it does not appear that all of the attackers were policemen as originally reported today Reuters is reporting that some of the attackers were apparently police officers.

Young British Mother Held By Iranian Regime (Updated!)

The BBC interviewed British sailor Faye Turney just hours before she was kidnapped by the Iranian regime- VIDEO HERE

British mother Faye Turney is the only woman out of the 15 who are being held by the Iranian regime. (Sky News)

A young British mother of one is among the British sailors and marines who have been held by Iran since Friday.
Sky News reports:

The Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary are piling pressure on Iran to release 15 Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines captured in the Gulf.

Tony Blair said he was "utterly confident" those in custody had done nothing wrong while Margaret Beckett demanded their safe return in "very robust" terms.
The captives seized on Friday include married mother-of-one Faye Turney, 26, and 21-year-old Paul Barton from Merseyside.

All 15 British personnel were detained at gun-point after they boarded a dhow carrying suspicious cargo off the coast of Iraq.

Faye says, "“I really do love my job — but I love my daughter also."

Faye Turney with daughter Molly. (The Sun)

The Iranian regime yesterday said this about Faye Turney (IRINN):

Foreign Ministry spokesman has said that media furore will not help the speedy release of the British marines and that the case has to go through its normal procedure. Coastguards arrested 15 British sailors and marines for illegally entering Iranian waters on 3 Farvardin [23 March]. Mohammad Ali Hoseyni said they [British sailors] are in sterling health and added that they are being treated in a humane and ethical way. He said that Faye Turney, the 26 year old female sailor, has been accommodated separately for her own convenience(?)
That does not sound very convenient- to be split off from your unit.

Great Britain is set to release evidence that the British ship was in Iraqi waters.

UPDATE 1: Britain releases proof that sailors and marines were operating within Iraqi waters!
BBC reports:

The Royal Navy says satellite data proves 15 personnel being held in Iran were 1.7 nautical miles inside Iraqi waters when they were seized. Vice Admiral Charles Style said the Iranians had given two different positions for the personnel - the first inside Iraqi waters in the Gulf.

Update 2: Iran says they will release Faye Turney and that they have a video of her "confession" that they will air.
HotAir is tracking the developments.

Bazteb News says now that: " The Islamic Republic of Iran will legally deal with the arrested British marines and the solutions to the case are diplomatically clear, if it has been a mistake, an apology by the British government will suffice, otherwise they have to explain what their objective has been in aggressing against the Iranian territorial waters."

It looks like they want the Brits to grovel.
I'm sure they could round up a few million Leftists to say they're sorry, pronto.
This could be over with by lunchtime!

Breaking: Senate Democrats Back Defeat!

Senate democrats today refused to strike language that would tie the hands of the Commander-in-Chief by imposing an arbitrary timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq:

Defying a veto threat, the Democratic-controlled Senate narrowly signaled support Tuesday for the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Iraq by next March.

Republican attempts to scuttle the non-binding timeline failed on a vote of 50-48 (Roll Call HERE), largely along party lines. The roll call marked the Senate's most forceful challenge to date of the administration's handling of a war that has claimed the lives of more than 3,200 U.S. troops.

John McCain, R-Ariz., a presidential hopeful, said that "we are starting to turn things around" in the Iraq war" and that a timeline for withdrawal would embolden the terrorists in Iraq and elsewhere.

The effect of the timeline would be to "snatch defeat from the jaws of progress in Iraq," agreed Lieberman, who won a new term last fall in a three-way race after losing the Democratic nomination to an anti-war insurgent.

Bush had previously said he would veto any bill containing the timeline, and the White House freshened the threat a few hours before the vote on Tuesday. "This and other provisions would place freedom and democracy in Iraq at grave risk, embolden our enemies and undercut the administration's plan to develop the Iraqi economy," it said in a statement.

Similar legislation drew only 48 votes in the Senate earlier this month, but Democratic leaders made a change that persuaded Nebraska's Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson to swing behind the measure.

Additionally, Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, a vocal critic of the war, sided with the Democrats, assuring them of the majority they needed to turn back a challenge led by Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss.
The senate will now convene tomorrow to resume consideration of H.R. 1591, the Supplemental pork-bloated Appropriations bill.

Strange how they were just recently opposed to timetables, via RedState:

** While stumping for votes last September, senatorial candidate Jim Webb said: “Anyone who tells you we can set a timetable for withdrawal doesn’t understand war. And anyone who says that nothing can be done to speed a secure peace doesn’t understand America.”
** On March 8, Sen. Ben Nelson said: “I’m bothered by dates. I think you still have to go on conditions for staying.”
** On March 12, Sen. Evan Bayh wrote: “I, for example, am not in support of circling a date on a calendar and saying, ‘no matter what, we’re out on that date.’ ”
** Nancy Pelosi spent $28 billion last week to round up 218 votes (the exact minimum to get a majority in the 435-member House). That worked out to $130 million or so per vote.

Tomorrow the Senate will vote on Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Bill for FY2007 along with these add-ons, via Victory Caucus:

$24 million for funding for sugar beets.

$3 million for funding for sugar cane (goes to one Hawaiian co-op).

$20 million for insect infestation damage reimbursements in Nevada, Idaho, and Utah.

Ukraine Bans Stalin Billboards

Uncle Joe was back to threaten the people of Ukraine this week...

Kiev Ukraine News Blog reports that the Stalin billboards exhorting people to pay their utility bills has been pulled after protests from rights groups and nationalists:

An ad campaign featuring billboards and commercials with images of the Soviet dictator Josef Stalin exhorting people to pay their bills was pulled on Monday after protests from rights groups and nationalists.

The campaign in the eastern Ukraine town of Donetsk came after utility rates in Ukraine increased markedly last year and people stopped paying their bills.

Irina Taran, a spokeswoman for Donetsk governing council, said dozens of billboards featuring Stalin appeared in the city last week; commercials featuring old film clips of the Soviet leader also appeared.

Ukrainian media reported that the mayor's office initiated the ad campaign, then backed down in the face of protests.

Here is photo of a large pile of some of the 5,000,000 Ukrainians that Stalin murdered by starvation. (mega.nu)

WTOP reported:

Irina Taran, a spokeswoman for Donetsk governing council, said dozens of billboards featuring Stalin appeared in the city last week; commercials featuring old film clips of the Soviet leader also appeared. Ukrainian media reported that the mayor's office initiated the ad campaign, then backed down in the face of protests.

One billboard shows Stalin holding a piece of paper and saying "Comrades! This isn't a film! This is life!" In the television ad, Stalin is shown in grainy black-and-white footage being applauded by hundreds of party members as a dubbed-over voice says: "Those who don't pay for their heat should be punished!"

Critics said it was shameful for authorities to be using an image of a man whom many Ukrainians blame for killing one-third of the country's population during the famine in the 1930s.

Report: Al Sadr Escaped Assassination Attempt

The people of Kufa were visibly upset after Friday prayers. Several residents took to the streets to protest for the release of Sadr's Former aide, Qais al-Khazaali, arrested for the murder of 5 US soldiers.

Shiite women carry a poster showing anti-US radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr as they protest against the arrest of an al-Sadr aide, in the holy city of Kufa, Iraq, 160 kilometers (100 miles) south of Baghdad, Friday, March 23, 2007. The U.S. military on Thursday said a Shiite cleric Qais al-Khazaali has been arrested in connection with a brazen attack on the provincial government of Karbala, also south of Baghdad, Jan. 20 when five American service members were killed. (AP Photo/Alaa al-Marjani)

ADN Kronos reported that Nouri Al-Maliki ordered a hit on Moqtada al-Sadr and that the he narrwoly escaped:

Radical Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr narrowly avoided an assassination attempt in recent days in Kufa, south of Baghdad, according to Iraqi deputy Biha al-Araji.

He told Arab newspaper al-Quds al-Arabi that elements linked to the government of Nouri al-Malkiki were behind the plot.

The plan reportedly involved the killing of al-Sadr on Friday while he was preaching inside the Kufa mosque. Once the plot was uncovered though, he decided not to attend the mosque that day. Al-Araji, a member of al-Sadr's political faction, denied reports that the firebrand cleric had fled abroad to escape the Baghdad security clampdown. "I took part in a meeting of the leadership of the Sadrist faction several days ago and all the leaders were there" he was quoted as saying.
Earlier on Tuesday...
According to Reuters: "U.S. forces raided the home of Mohammed al-Tabtabayi (al-Tabatabaie), an aide to Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, but he was not there at the time. His brother was detained, police said."

Missouri House Advances "Anti-Cloning" Bill

After that horrible piece of legislation, Amendment 2, passed in November helping put liberal Claire McCaskill into the US Senate, Missouri Republicans went to work to ensure that human cloning does not become a practice in Missouri.

DR. ONDER PRAISES PASSAGE OF ANTI-CLONING BILL
Jefferson City, (MO 3/27/07)

State Representative Dr. Bob Onder is hailing the passage of House Joint Resolution 11 (HJR 11) which would close loopholes in the Missouri Constitution and create a true ban on human cloning in Missouri. Upon its passage out of committee Representative Dr. Onder said: "I am proud of the members who stood up for life today. As a co-sponsor of the HJR I am proud that the system was allowed to work, and we had a successful outcome. With the passage of Amendment 2 last November, it is vital that we close the "cloning loophole" and that we do everything in our power to protect human life here in Missouri.”

With the passage out of Health Care Policy Committee the HJR will now be referred to the Rules committee where if it is successful there it will go to the floor for a vote. Senator Matt Bartle is sponsoring the Senate Joint Resolution 20 which is identical to the HJR.

Onder, who ran for the seat vacated by Scott Rupp (R- St. Charles), won a five way primary with a decisive 46% of the vote. He faced no competition in the November election and campaigned heavily statewide for numerous other candidates and as Chairman of the Board of Missourian’s Against Human Cloning.

Representative Dr. Onder, a practicing physician, has received a law degree from St. Louis University (1993) and a Medical Degree from Washington University (1987).
After talking with Dr. Onder today, he related that HJR 11 was deadlocked in committee 5-5 and today was passed out of that committee.

More on this legislation:
This joint resolution, sponsored by Rep. Jim Lembke (R-85), if passed by a majority in both houses, will place on the November 2008 ballot language to close the loopholes allowing human cloning that now exist in our Missouri Constitution. This resolution will also restore to our elected representatives oversight responsibilities of those entities involved in life-destroying research,” said Pam Fichter, President of Missouri Right to Life.

British Honor Killings Hold Steady at Around a Dozen Annually

Heshu had become too Westernized and had to die.

Heshu Yones, 16, was murdered by her Kurdish Muslim father, Abdalla in 2002. He perceived that her relationship with a non-Muslim brought shame on the family so he cut her throat. (Times Online)

The Daily Mail has the latest news on honor killings that is practiced in Great Britain, via Stop Honour Killings:

Islamic extremists are fuelling the spread of "honour" based violence against women in Britain, the country's most senior Muslim prosecutor has warned.

Nazir Afzal, the Crown Prosecution Service's director for west London, said that foreign Islamic terror groups had been identified as the driving force behind one murder and another threat to kill.

He also highlighted two cases in which women overseas had been forced to act as suicide bombers after being accused of shaming their families, and warned that the use of the Muslim faith to justify oppression and violence was spreading in Britain.

Mr Afzal's comments came at a London conference in which he spelt out the CPS's determination to bring the "full force of the law" to bear on the minority of Muslims who perpetrated or connived in honour-based violence.

He said that there were estimated to be about a dozen honour killings in Britain each year - and many more incidents of violence and bullying - and expressed concern that the problem was being inflamed by extremist ideology.

"When you talk to women who are victims of this type of behaviour you often find that they will say that their husbands or fathers have been radicalised in the way that they think about women," he said.

"They will use Islam as a justification for telling women how to behave and for punishing them. There is no religious justification for forcing your children to marry or harming them because they behave in a particular way, but there are people out there who are using their faith as a reason to do this.

"In the past, they might have said 'do this because I'm your dad', but when they are radicalised it is making them feel more confident about the way they behave towards the women in their family.

Mr Afzal said that several cases had highlighted the link between extremist Islamic organisations and honour violence. One was a threat to kill a woman, known as B, whose name cannot be given for legal reasons, and the other, 16-year-old Londoner Heshu Yones, who was murdered by her father Abdalla in 2002 after forming a relationship of which he disapproved.

He added: "At least two female suicide bombers in recent months have had their terrible acts attributed to a choice - die for dishonouring your family or die in so-called jihad. There is no way out."

Liberal Media OK's Hillary's Absurd US Attorney Statements

The liberal media insanity continues...

The liberal media ignores Hillary Clinton's absolutely ridiculous statements on the US Attorney firings:

Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday dismissed any comparison between the firing last fall of eight U.S. attorneys with the replacement of 93 U.S. attorneys when her husband became president in 1993.
"That's a traditional prerogative of an incoming president," Clinton said in an interview with The Associated Press.

Once U.S. attorneys are confirmed, they should be given broad latitude to enforce the law as they see fit, she said.

"I think one of the hallmarks of our democracy is we have a devotion to the rule of law," Clinton said.

She conceded that should she win the presidency in 2008, she likely would replace all of the U.S. attorneys appointed by President Bush. She said that's merely following traditions in which presidents appoint prosecutors of their own party.
"Oh...OK. Thank you Mrs. Clinton."
Flopping Aces has much more on this insanity we are witnessing with the democrats and their media lackeys.

Blair Warns of "New Phase" of "New Talks" to Resolve Hostage Crisis

It sounds like Tony Blair lost his mojo on this one...

Bloomberg.com reported that Prime Minister Tony Blair warns that the hostage crisis may move into a new phase if the current talks fail:

U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair said that efforts to release 15 British sailors and Marines seized by Iran will enter a "different phase" if negotiations fail.

The U.K. is using diplomatic channels to make the Iranian government understand that the eight Royal Navy sailors and seven Royal Marines "have to be released," Blair said today in an interview with the U.K. television show GMTV.

Blair's spokesman Tom Kelly later told reporters that a "different phase" didn't mean military action or expelling diplomats and that Blair would prefer the matter to be resolved "quietly and privately."

"We have been clearly stating that we are utterly certain that the personnel were in Iraqi waters," Kelly said. "We so far haven't made explicit why we know that because we don't want to escalate this. We may get to the stage where we will become more explicit."
Hoshyar Zebari, Iraq’s Foreign Minister, demanded the release of the 15 British hostages and insisted that they were seized in Iraqi waters, not Iranian waters as maintained by Tehran.

Alphabet City has video of Tony Blair's statement on the crisis and sends the latest:

Iranian Al-Alam TV Says British Sailors 'Being Interrogated'

Originally published on 3/26/2007 by Al-Alam Television in Arabic

Tehran Al-Alam Television in Arabic at 1403 GMT on 26 March reported that the 15 British naval personnel held by Iran were currently being interrogated and were required to provide clarification as to the reason behind their violation of the Iranian territorial waters.

Al-Alam TV quoted Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Mostafavi as saying that the sailors were in good health and that the case was taking its legal course and the personnel in question were required to clarify whether they had entered the Iranian waters deliberately or by mistake.

Mostafavi said that a decision was to be reached once the issue had been clarified.

Mullah Apologists Hope to Ban California Legislation Wednesday

In the mail:

This Wednesday, March 28 at 9 AM, the California State Assembly will hear testimony on Assembly Bill 221, a bi-partisan effort sponsored by Assemblyman Joel Anderson (R-San Diego) and Jose Solorio (D-Anaheim), that would divest California’s public retirement funds from companies that do business with Iran.

This is an absolutely critical moment, where you can make a tremendous difference. Your action TODAY can help this bill pass. I am going to ask you below to do two very simple things .

The National Iranian American Council, a group led by Trita Parsi that consistently parrots the views of reformists in Tehran, has come out publicly AGAINST this bill. They want to rope in Western businesses as a pro-Tehran lobby and are pretending to be THE voice of the Iranian-American community.

You know this is not true. So here is your chance to stand up and be counted.

We need to present Iranian-Americans who SUPPORT this important measure, which I believe will contribute to dramatically escalating the pressure on the Tehran regime by forcing multinational corporations that support the regime with capital and technology to rethink their investments in Iran.

Your support is absolutely critical.

Here’s what you can do today:

1) Assemblyman Anderson needs you to email or fax brief letters of support for the legislation, mentioning your name and your organization. Please send them to his chief of staff, Chip Englander, at the following address:

Email: "Englander, Chip"
Fax: (916) 319-2177

Your letter can be very brief. Here is suggested language:

Dear Assembly Anderson:

Iranian-Americans care deeply about America, and about Iran. We strongly support your proposed legislation, Assembly Bill 221, that would stop California state pension funds from investing in companies that do business in Iran. We believe this legislation sends a powerful message to the clerical leadership in Tehran and to large corporations that terror does not pay.

Thank-you again for your good work on this important issue.

Signed,
XXX
DON’T FORGET THE NAME OF YOUR ORGANIZATION.
IF ANY OF YOU CAN GO TO SACRAMENTO TO TESTIFY IN PERSON, PLEASE LET ME OR CHIP ENGLANDER KNOW IMMEDIATELY.

2) Call to express your support with these key members of the Assembly. The Public Safety committee has just six members: four votes are need to keep this bill alive.

Speaker of the Assembly Fabian Núñez (D-Los Angeles)
Office – 916/319-2046

If the Speaker supports this bill it will pass no question. If he opposes it it will likely die. He loves being significant and loves getting calls.

Jose Solorio (D-Anaheim)
Office – 916/319-2069

Solorio is Chairman of Public Safety and is a Democrat who has co-authored the bill. He supports it, but a “thank you,” would be wonderful.

Gene Mullin (D-San Mateo)
Office – 916/319-2019

Mullin is on the PERS Committee and will vote on the bill. He could be one of the two votes we need to pass the bill. He has verbally told Assemblyman Anderson that he likes the bill, but has not committed to vote for it.

Alberto Torrico (D-Fremont)
Office – 916/319-2020

Torrico is on the PERS Committee and will vote on the bill. He could be one of the two votes we need to pass the bill. He has verbally told Assemblyman Anderson that he likes the bill, but has not committed to vote for it. YOUR CALL CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.

Edward Hernandez (D-West Covina)
Office – 916/319-2057

Hernandez is on the PERS Committee and will vote on the bill. He could be one of the two votes we need to pass the bill. He is a complete toss up on the bill and can go either way. He says he wants to check with leadership.

Fiona Ma (D-San Francisco)
Office – 916/319-2012

Fiona Ma is the Majority Whip for the Democrats and is a co-author of our bill. She supports it, but a “thank you,” would be wonderful.

ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND:

I testified in Annapolis, Maryland last week in support of similar legislation for Maryland. As I wrote in a commentary last Friday for Frontpage magazine:

“The pitch is very simple: Do you want your pension fund invested in companies who prop up Iran? There are lots of other places you can invest. Why choose companies helping countries such as Iran whose leaders state publicly they want to destroy America?”

More on what you can do Here.

Missouri has adopted a policy to require two state funds to divest from companies that do business with Iran, Sudan, North Korea and Syria. Georgia is also considering such legislation, and a bill will be introduced in Ohio next week.

Missouri State Treasurer Sarah Steelman said she made the decision after learning the state was using BNP Paribas, France's biggest bank, to place its overnight money. It had been named as one of several European banks that lent $1 billion to Iran.

``We kicked them off our broker-dealer list and put in place policies that said we won't do business with companies that do business in Iran,'' she said.

In January, Steelman sent a letter to every state treasurer urging them to consider similar policies. ``This investment strategy provides an opportunity for many of us far from the front lines of the war on terrorism to do our part,'' she wrote.

Now you can help get similar legislation passed in California!

Al Qaeda in Iraq Claims Attack On Prime Minister Howard's Plane

Al Qaeda in Iraq claims it was responsible for the attack on John Howard's plane while he visited Iraq last week!

The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Iraq after the cabin began to fill with smoke and fumes shortly after takeoff.

The beautiful flag of "The Islamic State of Iraq"

The Al Qaeda group insists it hit the plane (or helicopter) of Prime Minister John Howard.

SITE Institute reports this from a tape released on Fraiday March 23, 2007:

The Islamic State of Iraq issued a communiqué today, Friday, March 23, 2007, claiming responsibility for launching an attack on the aircraft carrying the “Crusader” Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, last week in Iraq. The group gives the date of the attack as Sunday, March 18, 2007, and states that the forced landing of the plane was due to their “air defense” weapon. Media reports indicate that soon following a secret visit by John Howard with Australian troops and senior U.S. military officials in southern Iraq on Saturday, March 17, the Prime Minister’s RAAF Hercules plane was forced to land after filling with smoke. Interestingly, the Islamic State claims it was a helicopter, not a plane.

Terrorism: Islamic State of Iraq Claims Attack on Helicopter Carrying Australian Prime Minister

On 23 March, a jihadist website posted a statement issued by The Islamic State of Iraq in which the group claimed responsibility for an attack against a helicopter carrying Australian Prime Minister John Howard on 18 March 2007. The statement was attributed to the Ministry of Information of The Islamic State of Iraq and was copied from "Al-Fajr Media Center."

A translation of the statement follows:

"In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate.

"Praise be to God, Lord of all creation. Prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all of his family and companions.

"The Islamic State of Iraq claims responsibility for the attack using the air defense weapon against a helicopter carrying the purported Crusader Australian Prime Minister 'John Howard,' which resulted in forcing it to land. That was on Sunday, 29 Safar 1428, corresponding to 18 March 2007. Praise and thanks be to God.

"This operation comes as part of 'Al-Karamah [Dignity] Plan - the Avenging the Honor Conquest,' which was ordered by Shaykh Abu-Umar al-Baghdadi, may God protect him, the amir of the believers in The Islamic State of Iraq.

"Terror T-Shirts" Founders Tagged For Time

Busted!... Seven suspects associated with the "terror T-Shirt" company "Fighters and Lovers" are looking at up to six years in prison!

Just last year Stefania pointed out that a Danish company was raising money for terrorist groups by selling T-shirts.

Well there is hope for Europe, yet...
The young Terror-T hustlers got busted.
Stefania again is reporting the news:

Danish firm charged in anti-terror case

Seven people who raised money for Colombian guerrillas and Palestinian militants through T-shirt sales have been charged under Denmark's anti-terror law, a prosecutor said Thursday.

The suspects were associated with a Danish company that sold T-shirts over the Internet with the acronyms FARC, or Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, and PFLP, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

The company, Fighters and Lovers, said on its Web site that it would donate $7 to the groups for each $31 T-shirt sold. However, no money has been transferred to either group, and it was not immediately clear if any shirts were sold.

In charges filed Wednesday, Prosecutor Henning Fode said the seven, who were not identified, had violated a part of the anti-terror law that prohibits economic support to terror groups.

"Both PFLP and FARC have either taken responsibility for or have been blamed for acts that must be considered to be included" in the Danish anti-terror law, Fode said in a statement.

If convicted, each faces up to six years in prison.

Colombia had asked Denmark to take action against the company.

New York Times Plays the PTSD Fool for Iraq War Fraudster

After they ran a military/war-bashing piece on women in war, the New York Times Magazine found out one of the women in their expose did not in fact serve in Iraq as she said she had!

Michelle Malkin and Regret the Error have more on this little mishap.
Meet Amorita Randall...

This is what she told the NYT reporter:

Amorita Randall lives across the state from Christensen, in a small town outside of Grand Junction. She is 27, a former naval construction worker who served in Iraq in 2004. Over the course of several phone conversations before visiting her in January, I grew accustomed to the way Randall coexisted with her memories. Mostly she inched up to them.

On days she was feeling stable, she would want to talk, calling me up and abruptly jumping into stories about her six years in the Navy, describing how she was raped twice - the second rape supposedly taking place just a matter of weeks before she arrived in Iraq. Her experience in Iraq, she said, included one notable combat incident, in which her Humvee was hit by an I.E.D., killing the soldier who was driving and leaving her with a brain injury. "I don't remember all of it," she told me when I met her in the sparsely furnished apartment she shares with her fiance?. "I don't know if I passed out or what, but it was pretty gruesome."
Complete rubbish!
Although, it is now confirmed that Amorita Randall is indeed a fraudster, The New York Times Magazine still is running an interactive that includes Miss Randall.

And, get this...

"Saying something was looked down upon," says Amorita Randall a naval construction worker who served in Iraq in 2004. She says she was raped.

Here is the crazy correction:

CORRECTION: On March 12, three days after the article had gone to press, the Navy called The Times to say that it had found that Ms. Randall had never received imminent-danger pay or a combat-zone tax exemption, indicating that she was never in Iraq. Only part of her unit was sent there; Ms. Randall served with another part of it in Guam. The Navy also said that Ms. Randall was given the medal with the insignia because of a clerical error.

Based on the information that came to light after the article was printed, it is now clear that Ms. Randall did not serve in Iraq, but may have become convinced she did. Since the article appeared, Ms. Randall herself has questioned another member of her unit, who told Ms. Randall that she was not deployed to Iraq. If The Times had learned these facts before publication, it would not have included Ms. Randall in the article.
Miss Randall "may have become convinced" that she served in Iraq?
And I'm convinced I played for the Houston Rockets!
Where's my cash, jack?

To clarify... I certainly have sympathy and great respect for the men and women who suffer because of their service for our country. However, I have no sympathy for the NYT for publishing bogus accusations against the military!
That's crap.

Iran Calls Security Council Members Tools For Israel

In Iran the world revolves around Israel...
Iran says the UN Security Council members are tools for Israel:

Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said here Monday that at present the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) are tools supporting entities such as Israel rather than world countries.

Haddad-Adel told IRNA that by clearly declaring possession of atomic bomb, Israel overlooks its membership in the specified international bodies.

He noted that these international organizations serve the interests of Israel and disregard the interests of countries such as Iran, which neither intend to produce nuclear weapons, nor deviate from peaceful path in their nuclear activities.

"In practice, those countries willing to comply with international regulations are pressurized through UN as a consequence of the world powers' bullying and irrational approach.

"This is while, those states intending to proliferate atomic weapons are supported," he added.

The speaker said that such an approach by international bodies certainly does not indicate a good future for the world.

The Iranian regime today reported that interrogations are under way on the 15 captured British sailors and marines.

Untangling the Web For Persecuted Bloggers

Allen Roth at One Jerusalem sends this important article from the Wall Street Journal that could not be more timely considering the tragic blogger news from Egypt and similar news from Bahrain (and now Kuwait!).
Here is part of that WSJ article:

Tangled Web

The past few weeks have seen a chilling crackdown on Internet freedom by American allies. An Egyptian appeals court upheld a four-year prison term for Abdel Kareem Soliman (pictured below), a blogger who outraged religious authorities, while a Turkish judge ordered that Internet companies block YouTube, citing videos that disparage the memory of Turkey's founder, Ataturk.

This is nothing new: Bahrain, where the U.S. 5th Fleet is based, has been hounding bloggers and Internet activists for the past three years. While the United States has focused its attention and outrage on China, Internet censorship has become a problem with friends and foes alike. Adapting the U.S. approach to China elsewhere would mean singling out U.S. allies for opprobrium at a time when America needs all the friends it can find. The smart alternative is to shift from a bilateral approach to making the promotion of freedom on the Web a genuinely global policy.

The Internet has been hailed as a technology that empowers average citizens to make their voices heard. Its dispersed nature, most assume, makes it difficult to control. Yet countries generally route Internet traffic through a small number of checkpoints, allowing governments to efficiently monitor and control what happens on the Web...

When corporate leverage is limited, governments must step in. U.S. efforts have, so far, been anemic. The Global Internet Freedom Task Force, the highest profile effort launched so far, has been little more than a talk shop...

...Making investment in information technology dependent on good Web citizenship has the potential to encourage meaningful change in emerging economies like Turkey and Egypt as well as small but important countries like Bahrain. Leaders in all three
countries are hungry for Silicon Valley to invest in their economies.

The U.S. should also exert global leadership. A first step would be to sponsor a United Nations Declaration of Internet and Electronic Freedom. To be sure, the U.N.'s enforcement mechanisms are hopelessly weak, but the declaration can serve as a standard against which countries can be judged.

Al-Anbar Salvation Council Kills 4 Saudi Al Qaeda Members

ADN Kronos reports that 4 Saudi Al Qaeda members were killed in fighting in Western Iraq:

Four alleged Saudi terrorists belonging to the Iraqi al-Qaeda organisation were killed in recent days during violent clashes with tribal militias in the Sunni province of al-Anbar. Sources of the so-called al-Anbar Salvation Council - a coalition of tribes opposing the Islamic State in the restive western province - have told the Saudi newspaper al-Watan that they had killed at least 70 members of the terrorist group in the past two weeks, including many Arab foreigners.

The inhabitants of al-Hamadiya village recounted that they had seen fierce fighting and had found various bodies in the area including those of the four Saudis. One of them, whom the council sources identified as Abdullah Abu Abdel Rahman, had arrived in the area three months earlier and was considered a reference point for young people combatting American troops in Iraq.

According to Arab newspaper al-Hayat the "1920 Brigades" another insurgent group, is also fighting alongside the tribal militias of al-Anbar against al-Qaeda fighters and together they have managed to drive them back from the area around Abu Ghreib.

Slicing the Pork: Which Dems Pigged Out On Defense Bill (Video)

Who made a showing at last week's hog roast...
Sean Hannity reports on who was behind the pork in the House Defense Bill last week.
Hannity puts a face on the pig...
(2 minutes)

MORE: Via Glenn Reynolds, John Fund at the Wall Street Journal reports:

Democrats promised reform and instituted "a moratorium" on all earmarks until the system was cleaned up. Now the appropriations committees are privately accepting pork-barrel requests again. But curiously, the scorekeeper on earmarks, the Library of Congress's Congressional Research Service (CRS)--a publicly funded, nonpartisan federal agency--has suddenly announced it will no longer respond to requests from members of Congress on the size, number or background of earmarks. "They claim it'll be transparent, but they're taking away the very data that lets us know what's really happening," says Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn. "I'm convinced the appropriations committees are flexing their muscles with CRS."

Indeed, the shift in CRS policy represents a dramatic break with its 12-year practice of supplying members with earmark data. "CRS will no longer identify earmarks for individual programs, activities, entities, or individuals," stated a private Feb. 22 directive from CRS Director Daniel Mulhollan...

Sen. Coburn plans to fight back. He says he will attach an amendment to every appropriations bill demanding CRS prepare a full report on the earmarks in it. "Let senators vote for secrecy and prove they don't want a transparent process or let them deliver what they promised," he says. "The choice will be theirs and the American people will be watching."
A Second Hand Conjecture has more.

Nigerian Islamists Abducting Christian Boys and Girls

This news is from the Chretien Journal, Tidbits and Treasures and the Persecution Blog:

A major Christian rights group has expressed concern that Muslim militants in Nigeria are increasingly kidnapping Christian children to convert them to Islam, BosNewsLife monitored Tuesday, March 20.

The Voice Of the Martyrs (VOM) Australia, which is supporting Christians persecuted for their faith, told BosNewsLife it had urged supporters to « pray for the protection of Christians in Nigeria » after reports that the abduction of « teenage Christian boys and girls » is rising in areas that include majority-Muslim Sokoto state.

It cited the case of 13-year-old Victor Udo Usen, a member of the Christ Apostolic Church in Sokoto, who went missing in November last year. His mother Esther Udo Usen reportedly failed in her attempt to rescue him in February after a tip from a young Christian girl who raced to Usens’ home in the Mabera area of Sokoto city, the state’s capital.

She was apparently unable however to free him from the house where her son had been held incommunicado for six months. « I quickly held his hands and dragged him along with me towards our [nearby] house, » Compass Direct News quoted Esther Udo Usen as saying.

But within a twinkle of an eye, I heard shouts of »Allahu Akbar ! or ’God is great.’ I was shocked as I saw a large number of Muslims rushing towards us," she added. The mob apparently surrounded them and snatched her son away from her.

Before she could send her husband, members of the mob allegedly told her that her son was « now a Muslim » and that she and her husband were no longer his parents. « They abducted him in November last year, and I only saw him today, » she added. « How can someone force my son into his religion ?

The police told us that they cannot do anything at the moment until the Sultan of Sokoto, the leader of Muslims in Nigeria, returns from his trip. They have held this boy for six months without our consent. They have forced him into Islam. How can they do this to a 13-year-old child ?, » Usen told the news agency.

Politically Correct Abu Ghraib Torture Movie Released

Get this- The latest from the America-haters...
U.S. documentary shows everyday abuse of Abu Ghraib

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Abu Ghraib prison is notorious for images that surfaced in 2003 showing horrific abuses of Iraqis by U.S. soldiers, but a new documentary aims to highlight the plight facing many innocent Iraqis by depicting the humdrum misery there.

U.S. filmmaker Michael Tucker won critical acclaim for his documentary "Gunner Palace," about American soldiers taking up residence in Saddam Hussein's former palace.

Now his film "The Prisoner, or: How I Planned to Kill Tony Blair," made with his wife Petra Epperlein, tells the story of Yunis Khatayer Abbas, an Iraqi journalist captured by American soldiers in 2003.

In the film, Abbas recalls the humiliation of his interrogation, which led to him being told he was suspected of plotting to assassinate British Prime Minister Tony Blair, before being sent to Abu Ghraib.
Only, the Western media would dare describe the rogue abuse at Abu Ghraib as "horrific abuse".
And, now somehow the "interrogation" of a prisoner is defined as "everyday abuse."
Yet, amazing as it may sound, the director of this particular Abu Ghraib flick is cutting his story somewhere around March of 2003.
Shockingly, the director decided not to include this torture segment:
(Warning: Very Violent 1:15 minutes)

That is forgotten footage from one of Iraq's jails when Saddam Hussein was in charge.
It didn't make the cutting room... let alone the cutting room floor.
The movie will also exclude these Abu Ghraib images...
Robert Alt described the forgotten torture at Abu Ghraib that mysteriously made no headlines these past four years:

In 1996, Saddam arrested and tortured nine men on suspicion of trading in foreign currency. At the time of their arrest, trading in money other than Iraqi dinars was a crime—or more precisely, it was a line of work Saddam reserved for his cronies. But like many things in Saddam’s Iraq, the law was not exactly black-and-white...

Although Saddam was insufficiently public in his promulgation of the law, he made sure that his enforcement overcorrected for that error. In addition to detaining and torturing the men for eight months, he ordered their right hands cut off at Abu Ghraib, and demanded that a videotape of the mutilation be sent for him to view at his palace.

Aside from providing Saddam with sadistic amusement, their mutilation was to stand as a living testament of what happens to those who dare compete against Saddam’s friends. This is the Abu Ghraib of Saddam Hussein, a prison that is rumored to have held as many as 400,000 people; a place where Iraqis were detained for crimes redounding to displeasing the dictator; a place where torture was the rule and not the exception; and a place that Iraqis feared worse than death itself. As Abu Ghraib survivor Ala’a Abdul Hussien Hassan explained, "I don’t believe that anybody can imagine what we’ve been through. We’ve been oppressed on all levels."
Don't forget the uprising in Dujail. Saddam executed 148 Iraqis from Dujail who were being held at Abu Ghraib. However, there ran into a problem.
Omar at Iraq the Model explains:

The documents revealed some unbelievably terrifying facts about the Dujail massacre; can you imagine that when orders were given to execute the 148 "convicts" the prison authorities executed only 96 of them. Why?

Because the remaining 48 "convicts" had already passed away during "interrogation"!!

What kind of interrogation was it that killed one third of the suspects?!
But, these scenes will also not be included in the upcoming movie on Abu Ghraib.
They don't seem to fit well with the plot.

Cheney Blasts House Democrats For Undermining the Troops!

Cheney blasts democrats over their Failure Planning!

US Vice President Dick Cheney has assured political allies that an early withdrawal of US forces from Iraq would not be allowed, despite efforts by Congress to impose a deadline on US combat operations there(AFP/Nicholas Kamm)

VP Cheney blasted democrats for undermining the troops in Iraq during his talk to the Republican Jewish Coalition Leadership in Florida, yesterday.
From the White House website:

On every issue, from the economy to the courts to national security, the leadership of George W. Bush has made a tremendous difference for the country. He's the first President in a generation to deliver major tax cuts. He's the President who expanded health savings accounts, and updated Medicare to cover prescription drugs. He's the President who got us out of the antiquated ABM treaty and deployed missile defenses for the first time. (Applause.) And he's the first President since Ronald Reagan to appoint a new Chief Justice, and made an outstanding choice in John Roberts. (Applause.)

Above all, ladies and gentlemen, George W. Bush is the President we can count on to protect America, to keep our commitments, to stand by our friends, and to win the war on terror. (Applause.)

Progress in the cause of security and long-term peace never comes easily. It requires moral clarity, the courage of our convictions, a willingness to act when action is necessary, and a refusal to submit to any form of intimidation, ever.

We persevere because we are the prime targets of a terror movement that is global in nature and global in its ambitions.

The most common myth is that Iraq has nothing to do with the global war on terror. Opponents of our military action there have called Iraq a diversion from the real conflict, a distraction from the business of fighting and defeating bin Laden and al Qaeda. We hear this over and over again -- not as an argument, but as an assertion meant to close off argument. Yet the critics conveniently disregard the words of bin Laden himself: "The most... serious issue today for the whole world," he said, "is this Third World War...[that is] raging in [Iraq]." He calls it "a war of destiny between infidelity and Islam." He said, "The whole world is watching this war," and that it will end in "victory and glory or misery and humiliation." And in words directed at the American people, Osama bin Laden declares, quote, "The war is for you or for us to win. If we win it, it means your defeat and disgrace forever." This leader of al Qaeda has referred to Baghdad as the capital of the Caliphate. He has also said, and I quote, "Success in Baghdad will be success for the United States. Failure in Iraq is the failure of the United States. Their defeat in Iraq will mean defeat in all their wars." End quote.

Yesterday, the House Democrats passed the defense appropriations supplemental to fund our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. This will hamper the war effort and interfere with the operational authority of the President with our military commanders. It's counterproductive, it sends exactly the wrong message because of the limitations that are written into the legislation.

When members of Congress pursue an anti-war strategy that's been called "slow bleed," they're not supporting the troops, they're undermining them.

And when members of Congress speak not of victory but of time limits, deadlines, or other arbitrary measures, they're telling the enemy simply to run out the clock and wait us out.
Cheney assured Americans that there would be no early pullout from Iraq as democrats have planned.

Much Anticipated Turkish Film on Honor Killings Released

(2 minutes)

The New Anatolian says that "Bliss" is not a story that is easily forgotten.
Via Stop Honour Killings:

There are many sad stories in societies where people torture each other, where there is intolerance. There is no need to go far, it is enough to just look around. The stories of young people in love that belong to families that are in a blood feud with each other, couples that are not allowed to get married as one is an Alevi and the other Sunni, and the "honor" executions of people whose only fault is to love each other.

Reading some newspaper articles is like an extract from a horror film scenario: The woman stoned to death by her own brother and cousins as she is in a love affair out of wedlock; a married couple from Antep who came to reconcile their family sprayed with bullets or numerous people killed due to their sexual preferences, are all living in the same geography.

At this point, "Bliss'" importance mounts one more time. Above all, it has something important to say which is made through a good cinematic feeling. Without a doubt every film should have a matter, but to tell it through cinema is the hardest part. That is why we crown the films that do it together.

For example while "Beynelmilel" (International) discusses a difficult subject like the Sept.12 military coup, not with a slogan but through cinematic language. "Bliss" on the other hand, is a film that everyone should see and one some fractions should watch to learn a lesson from.

"Bliss" is adapted from Zulfu Livaneli's novel and is as effective cinema work as his novel, due to its flawless portrayal that focuses on an example of barbarity of this geography: "honor" killings. Especially the violence against women, legitimatize brutality by grounding it to customs, and families that murder their own children. Unfortunately, all of them are true, all of them have been experienced before and still continue to be.

"Bliss" is not a story that can be easily forgotten after being watched on the silver screen. Abdullah Oguz strengthens his success in directing with this film. Ozgu Namal, who plays the character Meryem, deserves heavy praises for her acting. Murat Han successfully portrays a man forced to choose between customs and his feelings, even though it is his first movie. This is definitely a film not to be missed.
Don't look for Hollywood to come out with such a brave film anytime too soon.

Iran Will Try British Sailors & Soldiers for Espionage

** Winston has posted this and other Google Earth images that show where the British sailors and soldiers are being held in Tehran:

However, Great Britain says it does not know where the soldiers and sailors are being held.
It's show trial time in Tehran...
Like they did in 2004, the Iranian regime is planning on holding a show trial to prove that the 15 captured British sailors and soldiers, including one woman, were spies for Great Britain.
The Telegraph reports:

FIFTEEN British sailors and marines arrested by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards off the coast of Iraq may be charged with spying.

A website run by associates of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, reported last night that the Britons would be put before a court and indicted.

Referring to them as “insurgents”, the site concluded: “If it is proven that they deliberately entered Iranian territory, they will be charged with espionage. If that is proven, they can expect a very serious penalty since according to Iranian law, espionage is one of the most serious offences.”

The warning followed claims by Iranian officials that the British navy personnel had been taken to Tehran, the capital, to explain their “aggressive action” in entering Iranian waters. British officials insist the servicemen were in Iraqi waters when they were held.

The penalty for espionage in Iran is death. However, similar accusations of spying were made when eight British servicemen were detained in the same area in 2004. They were paraded blindfolded on television but did not appear in court and were freed after three nights in detention.

Iranian student groups called yesterday for the 15 detainees to be held until US forces released five Revolutionary Guards captured in Iraq earlier this year.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat, a Saudi-owned newspaper based in London, quoted an Iranian military source as saying that the aim was to trade the Royal Marines and sailors for these Guards.
Kamangir earlier posted the report by Rajanews, the Iranian website with links to Ahmadinejad:

While the diplomatic pressure from Iran on UK has balanced the media pressure from the West, we have received news that the government is very keen to keep the invader soldiers and to not to release them. A source in the government told our reporter that the captured soldiers will not be released until official apology is stated and that they promise to not to commit such actions ever. The same source stated that the captured soldiers are transferred to Tehran and are still in the custody of the armed forces, and not the government.

It should be emphasized that the arrested soldiers must be tried in Iran and the verdict should be carried out afterwards. Given that they were armed at the time of arrest, if it is proved that they performed an intentional entrance and if they get convicted of espionage, the verdict could be very harsh.
Pajamas Media reported on Sunday that the American forces in Iraq are now holding over 300 prisoners tied to Iran’s intelligence agencies!

Al Sadr Loyalists Call For Release of Arrested US Soldier Killers

Strange... On Wednesday, two senior commanders from the Mahdi Army Shiite militia identified Qais al-Khazaali , a former Al-Sadr spokesman, as the leader of up to 3,000 fighters who defected from the Mahdi Army militia and were now financed directly by Iran and no longer loyal to firebrand cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.

Qais al-Khazaali and his brother Laith Khazaali were arrested Wednesday for killing 5 US soldiers in January. The killers who are connected to Al-Sadr, "traveled in black GMC Suburban vehicles (the type used by U.S. government convoys), had American weapons, wore new U.S. military combat fatigues, and spoke English."

But, on Friday protesters in Kuna, Iraq and loyal to Al-Sadr, protested for the release of the Khazaali brothers and others arrested earlier in the week.

If there was a "split" as reported, why are Al-Sadr loyalists protesting for the release of the "defectors"?

Demonstrators hold a poster of Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr during a protest in Kufa, about 160 km (100 miles) south of Baghdad, March 23, 2007. Hundreds of Shi'ites took to the streets after Friday prayers to demand the release of prisoners being held by U.S. forces. The writing on the poster reads "God, stand by Moqtada". (REUTERS/Ali Abu Shish)

MEMRI Blog also reported that Al-Sadr's Mahdi army has fractured:

The Jaysh Al-Mahdi militia of the Shi'ite cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr has split.

According to a militia spokesman, 3,000 members are being financed directly by Iran. It was also reported that elements of this splinter group are being trained by Al-Quds Forces, which also train Hizbullah in Lebanon.

Qais Khazaali and his followers were carrying the ID cards of the 5 murdered American soldiers when they were arrested on Wednesday.

Pakistani Cricket Captain & Asst Coach Targeted in Investigation

The Jamaican authorities are bringing in a pathologist from the United States to assist with the probe into the murder of Pakistan’s cricket coach, Bob Woolmer.

Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer (L) stands with team captain Inzamam-ul-Haq during a World Cup cricket warm-up match against South Africa in Port of Spain in this March 9, 2007 file photo. Inzamam-ul-Haq and assistant coach Mushtaq Ahmed were being questioned on March 24, 2007 by Jamaican police investigating the murder of coach Bob Woolmer, the team spokesman said. (Reuters)

Jamaican officials say they are not holding any suspects in their murder investigation of Bob Woolmer.

The Jamaican police have interviewed two members of the Pakistani cricket team for the second time in their murder investigation. Pakistani cricket coach Bob Woolmer was strangled after his team's loss in the World Cup.
The BBC reports:

Pakistan's cricket captain and the assistant coach have been interviewed for a second time by police investigating Bob Woolmer's murder.

Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mushtaq Ahmed were questioned by Jamaican police on Saturday although both have said they were only completing formalities.

The team was now free to leave Jamaica, said deputy commissioner of police, Mark Shields.

The Pakistan team are due to fly home from Montego Bay at 2340 GMT.

Mr Shields said the players were questioned to "clear up" any possible "ambiguities" given in the statements from the team.

"Throughout this process, there has been nothing but co-operation from the Pakistan team," Mr Shields added.
Jamaican police have already taken DNA samples and fingerprints from all Pakistan players.

So *These* Are the Latest Hyped Gonzales Documents?

So, these are the documents that are supposedly going to "indict" Attorney General Alberto Gonzales for a "non-crime"?
Democrats will need more than this.

This document is from the #7 Group of documents released Friday and posted at Realcities.com.

Here is the calendar posting from Paul J. McNulty mentioning the meeting on November 27, 2006 in the Attorney General's Conference Room.

Macsmind is following this story as close as anyone.
This is what Macranger says about the latest accusations by democrats:

The fact is that this “shocking memo” appears to be nothing more than a calendar entry where Gonzales met to choose replacement AG’s, which is a meeting he would be at.

I will agree that Gonzales appears not to be the brightest of the pack, but I would caution all to hold out because I believe - and have a little confirmation - that there is much more to this story.
It should be noted that after the media led with headlines like this: "Documents: Gonzales OK’d firing attorneys - Attorney general had been said not to have been closely involved"...
After there was nothing to the story that Gonzales actually "ok'd the firing" the media later changed the headline to "Bush reaffirms support for embattled Gonzales".

As Realcities.com confirmed:

The Nov. 27 meeting in Gonzales' conference room came as Sampson was still trying to decide which federal prosecutors would be asked to step down. His final list targeted seven U.S. attorneys, who were told on Dec. 7 that they were being ousted. Another prosecutor had been asked to step down months earlier.

A Justice Department spokesman said the latest disclosures don't contradict Gonzales' statements that he knew little about the firings.

"This meeting concerned the roll-out of the U.S. attorney plan. The information available to us does not indicate that there was discussion at this meeting about which U.S. attorneys should or should not be on the list," spokesman Brian Roehrkasse said.
Democrats will need more than this to take out this Bush Administration official.

Outside the Beltway has video of the Gonzales comments in question.

In Radio Address Democrats Insist Defeat Is Best For the Troops

Holy pork rinds with hot sauce...
In their weekly radio address democrats insist that defeat is best for the troops and a pork-bloated Iraq bill is the best way to fight waste:

"With our vote this week, we're helping our troops, protecting our veterans, and fighting to end the waste, fraud and abuse," said Antiwar liberal Rep. Paul Hodes (D-NH), delivering the Democrats' weekly radio address.
The Iraqi VP today warned democrats that their cut and run strategy for Iraq is dangerous.

Peaceniks Chant: "Bye, Bye GI... In Iraq You're Gonna Die!"

A collective of liberal protesters in Portland (communists, anarchists, atheists, democrats, socialists, radical gays, former hippies) gathered around a strung up effigy of a GI at a "peace" protest... torched it... and chanted...

"Bye, Bye GI... In Iraq You're Gonna Die!"

The VIDEO is posted HERE and HERE.

Hat Tip Andy Stewart and Eric Klein

They followed that chant up with this one:

"Build a bonfire
Build a bonfire
Put the soldiers on the top.
Put the fascists in the middle,
And, we'll burn the f**king lot."
Has any liberal or democrat denounced these protesters?... Waiting.
Again, but... Please don't question their patriotism.

Iraqi VP Warns Dems That Their Cut & Run Strategy Is Dangerous

Iraqi Vice-President Hashemi also said the Iraqi armed forces would need no more than 18 months to prepare for a systematic withdrawal of coalition forces sometime around September of 2008.

Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi has said that a quick pullout of US-led coalition troops would not benefit Washington until Iraqi forces were sufficiently trained to take their place.(AFP/Kazuhiro Nogi)

The Iraqi VP warned democrats that their cut and run strategy is dangerous not just for Iraq but also for America.
The BBC reports:

Iraq's vice-president has warned that a quick withdrawal of US troops could worsen the security situation in Iraq.

Tareq al-Hashemi responded after the US House of Representatives passed a bill imposing a deadline for all US troops to leave Iraq by 31 August 2008.

Mr Hashemi said replacing US troops with poorly-trained Iraqis whose loyalty was questionable would create a security vacuum.

US President George W Bush vowed to veto the Democratic-sponsored bill.

"I do believe that for the common interest of my country we need coalition forces to stay until further notice," Mr Hashemi said on a visit to Japan.

Iranians Force Confessions... Transfer Captured Brits to Tehran!

Yesterday, Iranian officials said they knew nothing about the 15 British soldiers and sailors they kidnapped in Iraqi waters.

Today, Iran says the Brits confessed to entering Iranian waters and were transferred to Tehran!

** Iran also said a female marine was among those captured.

Accoring to Fars News, Alireza Afshar (pictured here) confirmed the arrest of 15 British marines by the naval force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps within the Iranian territorial waters on Friday and added that the said individuals are under prosecution and have confessed that they have aggressed against the waters of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini said the Brits were trying to cover up their illegal act and need to come clean.

More from Fars...
Spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry termed trespassing of the territorial waters of Iran by the British forces as dubious and illustrative of unusual objectives pursued by them.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini considered the illegal and interventionist entry by the British forces into the Iranian waters as a dubious act which contradicts international laws and regulations and condemned it.

He further made reference to the hostile nature of such moves and reiterated that violation of the sovereignty of other states and trespassing of their territories is illustrative of unusual objectives, contradicts international obligations and cannot be justified at all.

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman again made reference to the efforts made by the British forces to hide and cover their illegal act and advised the British officials to compensate for their mistakes instead of trying to justify their illegal and unauthorized act.
The Times reported that British authorities fear that the 15 British sailors and Royal Marines were victims of a deliberate ambush on the disputed Shatt al-Arab waterway by Iranian Revolutionary Guards, perhaps seeking to use the captives as hostages in the increasingly tense stand-off between the West and Iran over its nuclear programme.

Aljazeera adds... A 1975 treaty gave the waters to Iraq and US and British ships commonly operate there, but Aandahl said Iran disputes Iraq's jurisdiction over the waters.

Liberals Discover a New Protest Gimmick... It's the Sh*t!

You already heard about the Milwaukee "peace" protesters who reportedly smeared human waste on the walls of the Army recruitment Center after they busted out a window at this past week's "peace" protest.

Well, there's more from the peace and profanity protest in Portland this week...

A Portland "peace" protester. (Indy-media)
The potty-mouthed liberal protesters in Portland are pooping on the US flag while the crowd cheered!
Via Charles Johnson and The Portland Tribune:

This splinter group of protesters showed its support for “peace” by burning a U.S. soldier in effigy. It exhibited its supposedly pacifist nature by knocking a police officer off his bike — an action that brought out the police riot squad.

Perhaps the most disturbing scene of the afternoon, however, involved the man who pulled down his pants in front of women and children and defecated on a burning U.S. flag. This disgusting act actually elicited cheers from some members of the crowd, but we hope that the emotion it produces in the community is one of revulsion.
*Crickets Chirping*

The above mentioned scene is reminiscent of the Radical Islamists who were cheering as their children were P*ssing on Old Glory at Raza University...

But, please, let's not question anyone's patriotism here, sh*t!

Arrested Former Al-Sadr Spokesman Qais Khazaali Trained in Iran

Qais Khazaali and his followers were carrying the ID cards of the 5 murdered American soldiers when they were arrested on Wednesday.

The 5 US soldiers were murdered in late January in a very sophisticated attack by English-speaking terrorists who were driving black GMC Suburban vehicles (the type used by U.S. government convoys), had American weapons, and wore new U.S. military combat fatigues.

Anti-American former Spokesman for Al-Sadr, Qais Al-Khazaali, is a cleric in his mid-30's.

The Shiite insurgent leaders who were arrested this week and believed to be behind the murder of 5 US soldiers trained in Iran and was once the chief spokesman for Al-Sadr.
The Military Times has more on the brothers and their followers:

Qais Al-Khaazli is a cleric in his early 30s. The tall and slender man was a close al-Sadr aide in 2003 and 2004. He was al-Sadr's chief spokesman for most of 2004 and made nearly daily appearances on Arabic satellite news channels. He has not been seen in public since late that year.

Outspoken and uncompromisingly anti-American, al-Khazaali was a savvy spokesman, who went out of his way to accommodate the scores of Western and Arab reporters that covered the fighting in the summer of 2004 in the holy city of Najaf south of Baghdad.

When al-Sadr stood to deliver the Friday sermon in a mosque in Kufa, Najaf's twin city, in the months leading up to the Najaf battles, a stern faced al-Khazaali stood motionless to the right of his leader. Both wore white shrouds over their clerical robes, suggesting their readiness for martyrdom.

In the days after the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime, al-Khazaali led groups of young clerics loyal to al-Sadr who protected his native Sadr City, the teeming Shiite district in eastern Baghdad, against looters and worked to restore basic services.

In Washington Wednesday, a Pentagon official who declined to be identified because of the information's sensitivity, confirmed that some gunmen had gone to Iran for training and that al-Khazaali has a following. However, the official could not confirm the number of his followers or whether Iran was financing them.

The two Mahdi Army commanders blamed several recent attacks on U.S. forces in eastern Baghdad on the splinter group they said was led by al-Khazaali. They also said they believed the breakaway force had organized the attempt last week to kill Rahim al-Darraji, Sadr City's mayor.

Al-Darraji, who is close to the Sadrist movement, was involved in talks with the U.S. military about extending the five-week-old Baghdad security sweep into Sadr City, the Mahdi Army stronghold in eastern Baghdad that was a no-go zone for American forces until about three weeks ago.

Al-Darraji was seriously wounded and two of his bodyguards were killed.
Alphabet City has more on the Al-Khazaali brothers training in Iran from news reports before they were arrested.

Bush Blasts Back!!!
"The purpose of the emergency war spending bill I requested was to provide our troops with vital funding. Instead, Democrats in the House, in an act of political theater, voted to substitute their judgment for that of our military commanders on the ground in Iraq. They set rigid restrictions that will require an army of lawyers to interpret. They set an arbitrary date for withdrawal without regard for conditions on the ground. And they tacked on billions for pet projects that have nothing to do with winning the war on terror. This bill has too much pork, too many conditions and an artificial timetable for withdrawal.

As I have made clear for weeks, I will veto it if it comes to my desk. And because the vote in the House was so close, it is clear that my veto would be sustained. Today's action in the House does only one thing: it delays the delivering of vital resources for our troops. A narrow majority has decided to take this course, just as General Petraeus and his troops are carrying out a new strategy to help the Iraqis secure their capital city.

Amid the real challenges in Iraq, we're beginning to see some signs of progress. Yet, to score political points, the Democratic majority in the House has shown it is willing to undermine the gains our troops are making on the ground."
Amen!... More from Bush Here.

UPDATE: Meanwhile the Iraqi media reports that Security has increased 70% in Southern Iraq:

The following is a Haider Ajina translation of an article in Iraq’s Buratha News agency:

Security Increased by 70% in southern Baghdad.

Iraqi commander of the fourth Brigade of the Sixth division General Ali Jasin Alfuraigi said, ‘security in southern Baghdad has reached 70% since the implementation of operation ‘Rule of Law’.

Alfuraigi said that his Brigade has arrested 63 terrorists in areas of southern Baghdad during the last eight operations in the areas of Mahmudiah, Yousefiah and Latifiah over the last few days. The largest of these operations was in the area of Said Abdulah in Latifiah. In this operation eight weapons cashes were uncovered. Alfuraigi added that the number of rocket attacks on the Latifiah area has declined 90% after the launch of operation ‘Rule of Law’. He added that the number of his troops is not enough for the area for which he is responsible, even with the backing of the multi national forces.
Haider Ajina comments:

More updates on operation "Rule of Law", show that the four weeks since the start of the operation is showing substantial improvement in security in this city of 3-5 million. This report in substantial reduction in violence and improvement in security is resonating through out the areas of operation.

While speaking to my family in Iraq, I am finding out that security in the area of operation has improved by an unimaginable margin. This confirms the news from the Iraqi media. The road from Baghdad to Nejaf (about 160km) has been operating smoothly with 21 check points on the way.
Regards,
Haider Ajina

Iran Captures 15 British Sailors in Iraqi Waters!

(Updated below)
Yesterday, the Iranian regime was practicing war games...
Today they took it up a notch!

The Iranians captured 15 British sailors today taken at gunpoint while performing a routine inspection in Iraqi waters!

A BBC map shows where the incident occurred.

British Commodore Nick Lambert, commander of the HMS Cornwall, describes the capture of the British sailors:
(1 Minute -FOX New)

This incident occurred around 9 AM this morning in Iraqi waters. The British sailors were acting under direction of the Iraqi authorities to patrol the waters.

The Guardian reports that the British sailors were captured while doing a routine inspection in Iraqi waters:

Fifteen Royal Navy sailors have been seized by Iranian warships in Iraqi territorial waters, the Ministry of Defence said.

Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett has summoned the Iranian ambassador in London to demand their immediate release, a spokesman said.

"The boarding party had completed a successful inspection of a merchant ship when they and their two boats were surrounded and escorted by Iranian vessels into Iranian territorial waters," a spokesman said.

"We are urgently pursuing this matter with the Iranian authorities at the highest level and on the instructions of the Foreign Secretary, the Iranian ambassador has been summoned to the Foreign Office.

"The British Government is demanding the immediate and safe return of our people and equipment."

The personnel seized were from the Type 22 frigate HMS Cornwall.
Of course, this is all happening while democrats are voting to remove US troops from the area.

HMS Cornwall is the first Type 22 Batch 3 Frigate, designed to detect and destroy submarines at long range using bow mounted 'active' and towed-array 'passive' sonars, plus torpedoes fired from a triple tubes or dropped from the ship's helicopter. She is the first RN ship to be fitted with Harpoon anti-ship missiles, giving her an extensive 'over the horizon' anti-surface capability.

The AP reports that the Brits were captured by Iranian Revolutionary Gurads members:

The United States, Britain's chief ally, has built up its naval forces in the Gulf in a show of strength directed at Iran. Two American carriers, including the USS John C. Stennis — backed by a strike group with more than 6,500 sailors and Marines and with additional minesweeping ships — arrived in the region in recent months, ratcheting up tensions with Iran.

A Pentagon official said the Britons were in two inflatable boats from the frigate H.M.S. Cornwall during a routine smuggling investigation, said the official, who spoke on condition on anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about the incident.

He said the confrontation happened as the British contingent was traveling along the boundary of territorial waters between Iran and Iraq. They were detained by the Revolutionary Guard's navy after inspecting a merchant ship believed to be smuggling cars, he said.

A fisherman who said he was with a group of Iraqis from the southern city of Basra fishing in Iraqi waters in the northern area of the Gulf said he saw the Iranian seizure. The fisherman declined to be identified because of security concerns.

"Two boats, each with a crew of six to eight multinational forces, were searching Iraqi and Iranian boats Friday morning in Ras al-Beesha area in the northern entrance of the Arab Gulf, but big Iranian boats came and took the two boats with their crews to the Iranian waters."
This is not the first time that the Iranians have captured British sailors in the waters between Iran and Iraq. 8 British sailors were captured in June 2004 and held for 3 days by Iranian Guards members.

Pakistani Cricket Coach Bob Woolmer Strangled After Loss

** The BBC has video of the police briefing HERE.

Pakistani cricket coach Bob Woolmer was strangled to death hours after his team lost in the World Cup.

Woolmer was found dead after Pakistan's loss to Ireland. (Reuters)

After their loss to Ireland, Pakistani cricket coach Bob Woolmer was murdered in his hotel room:

Kingston, Jamaica, March 23: Jamaican Police launched a murder inquiry on Friday into the death of Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer at the World Cup, saying he was strangled. The death on Sunday was "due to asphyxiation by manual strangulation", Deputy Commissioner Mark Shields told a news conference at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston where Woolmer died on Sunday.

"Bob was a large man -- it would have taken some force," Shields added. "Hopefully we will bring the killers to justice as soon as possible. We will use every energy we possibly have to track down the killers."

The 58-year-old Briton died on Sunday after being found unconscious in his hotel room. The previous day, leading contenders Pakistan were eliminated from the World Cup by debutants Ireland in a result, which stunned cricket.

The sport`s governing body said the World Cup would continue despite the shock of Woolmer`s murder which has completely overshadowed the seven-week tournament being played in the Caribbean for the first time.
Every member of the Pakistan cricket team had their fingerprints taken by the Jamaican police.

His widow, Gill Woolmer, had this to say about the prospect that he had been murdered:

"I suppose there is always the possibility: I mean some of the cricketing fraternity are extremely volatile and passionate about the game and what happens in the game, and also a lot of it in Asia, so I suppose there is always the possibility that it could be that. It fills me with horror. I just can't believe that people could behave like that or that anyone would want to harm someone who has done such a great service to international cricket."
The fans were not happy that Pakistan was upset in the tournament.

"Six Iranian girls disguise themselves as boys in order to enter Tehran's Azadi Stadium to watch the 2006 World Cup Asian zone qualifier between Iran and Bahrain. However, their presence is discovered and they are arrested one by one."

This is the story told in "Offside", a movie about vicious discrimination against female soccer fans in Iran.
These women pictured here know about the regime's discrimination first hand...

This picture shows an actual failed attempt by Iranian women to overcome a ban on entering Tehran's Azadi stadium to watch football matches in April 2006. They were treated more viciously by the police than previously.

And, here is the movie trailer to "Offside":

JB Spins has already seen the movie and offers a review HERE.

Here's a slice of his take on the film:

FYI, last night I attended a press screening of the Iranian film Offside, filmed by Jafar Panahi without official state support. The film criticizes the absurd prohibition against women attending sporting events in Iran, dramatizing the plight of several young women caught trying to sneak into the forbidden soccer stadium just to cheer on the national team. It's a small film, but you might find it interesting for it's subject matter.
"Offside" opens in New York tomorrow.

Turned away in Tehran in 2006. (Iranian.com)

Or Does It Explode has more on the Iranian women soccer protests.

Israeli Soldier Strikes Palestinian Youth (Video)

You may hear about this incident...
It will probably get a lot of play from the international media and be reproduced a thousand times over for years to come.
I am posting it so that you can see for yourself what happened.

An Israeli border guard is taped slapping a Palestinian youth at the border.
This won't help the situation at all... But, it will help the Palestinian propaganda campaign.
(22 seconds)

The incident is under investigation.

Of course, we all know that there are some who will use this as a perfectly legitimate reason to blow up Jews in Israel.

The Islamization of Europe

Islam Watch has a series of articles on the Islamization of Europe.

Islam Watch wrote a detailed report on policy regarding integration or assimilation of Muslim immigrants in Europe. One of the answers is: zero tolerance of Sharia laws. His opinion is that we now know enough about islam to formulate a detailed, practical and effective policy that will keep Europe free for the next few hundred years. He hopes that the article will start a debate regarding the detailed and concrete rules that must be instituted in every free country.

One aim of the first article in the series was to give a prognosis of the political
development in European countries, if the on-going islamization process is not interrupted. The conclusion of that analysisis is that the islamists´dreams about a peaceful transition to Eurabia is a complete illusion. What we will experience in the future in European countries is an ever increasing level of violence interrupted by spikes of violent cruelty. Civil strife and in the end civil war in some countries, if the islamization process is not stopped, is the outcome according to his theory. For each month that passes now, that prognosis will be more and more validated.

Another one of his articles describes a model that can be used when a government wants to stop the process. Besides formulating an integrated approach to prevent islamization, he has earlier written about three areas of the model and about which rules and laws we shall have there.

There is much more information at Islam Watch.

Tikrit Commanders Make Appeal For Assistance

Pat Kerr, Missouri State Veterans Ombudsman, sent me a high priority request for assistance.

Pat has learned through her daughter Capt. Kate Numeric (pictured below with her son Abraham) that commanders in Tikrit are running out of certain supplies and DOD's supply system is "log jammed" and unable to deliver them...

The supplies needed involve mostly printers, printer parts, printer, cartridges, paper etc. Here is a portion of Kate's letter stressing the importance of these items:

-- our jobs aren't glamorous ... we're the UPS and the AAA Travel Service of the Army, and we keep track of everything that's moving on the roads and provide the
truck drivers intelligence so they can be aware of the threats and know what to avoid. We provide clearances for convoys to leave our destinations (which are printed in triplicate to make their travel faster and more efficient), Hazardous Materials declarations (required to be in color) to put things on planes so they don't have to be driven through IED-areas, we label items so they go from a spoke location to a hub to the right destination and the right addressee ... it's our
scanners and printers that end up providing copies of Soldiers' leave paperwork so they can get out of the country and see family and friends. In essence, our jobs are very paper-driven, and in some cases, we're using printers that were brought over for OIF 1 or 2 and have been in the sand and dust for 3 or 4 years now. I have one printer that we fix at least 3 times a week.

Preferably, they request that you send these items as soon as possible in generic looking "care packages" - the supply circumstances are so bad that if another unit senses the package contains printer material it may never get thru(?)

Pat also said If it is better to make a financial contribution, please make your check to Operation Outreach and 100% of it will go for these purposes.

In St. Louis Alberto Gonzales Vows He Will Not Step Down!

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said today on a stop in St. Louis that he will not be stepping down from from his post.
The St. Louis Post Dispatch reported:

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, under fire over the firing of eight U.S. Attorneys, vowed again Thursday in St. Louis that he would not step down.

Gonzales was at the federal courthouse in St. Louis this morning to meet with area law enforcement officials, child advocates and community leaders and get an update on their efforts to combat child exploitation and abuse.

“I'm not going to resign. I'm going to stay focused on protecting our kids,” he said in response to a question about the “growing chorus” calling for his resignation.

He also repeated the administration position that U.S. Attorneys serve at the pleasure of the president and can be removed at any time.

“No United States Attorney was fired for improper reasons. And that's the message that I'm going to deliver to the U.S. Congress,” he said.

More sexual predators were indicted on federal charges, per capita, in Missouri than in any other state, the Justice Department said. Area officials told Gonzales that they need more resources to investigate crimes, build public awareness by educating children, teachers and their parents and give children alternatives to idling their day online.

In a nod to the controversy, Gonzales opened his remarks to the group by saying, "I can really, honestly say it's good to be out of Washington."

Hammer Time!... Blogger Conference Call With Tom Delay

He already has a blog. Now, he's making blogger conference calls!

Allen Roth and David Goder held another exceptional Blogger Conference call today for One Jerusalem.org.

Today it was "Hammer" time!

Speaker DeLay needed no introduction. He discussed his new book, No Retreat, No Surrender, in which he pulls no punches and names names.

Tom Delay shared about his time in Congress, the new battles ahead, and his new book.
Check out One Jerusalem later for the audio.

"What we are witnessing is the criminalization of politics."

"It is not enough to defeat a man politically. It is not even enough to vilify him publicly. You have to carpet bomb his life. You have to make sure that he leaves office
