Brutal winter conditions have collapsed homes, snapped power lines and destroyed crops in China.
Snow disaster in China!

In this photo released by China's Xinhua nes agency, buildings and structures are seen collapsed at a market place in Chaohu, east China's Anhui Province, Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008. A 3,000-square-meter market of farm products was weighed down by heavy snow Saturday, with 8 people trapped in ruins, but all of them were rescued several hours later, Xinhua said. Parts of China are suffering their worst snowstorms in a decade.
The BBC reported:

Chinese authorities have ordered urgent measures to be put in place to fight nationwide transport chaos caused by severe weather conditions.

Ice and snowfall caused power cuts that left 100,000 people stranded at train stations in southern China on Sunday.

...Forecasters predict the bad weather will continue for a week, causing travel misery in the run-up to the Lunar New Year holiday on 7 February.

Brutal conditions in recent days have collapsed homes, snapped power lines and destroyed crops across the country.

Parts of China have suffered their worst snowfalls in more than a decade.

In the southern town of Guangzhou, more than 100,000 people have been stranded at the main railway station as power cuts paralysed services.

In this photo released by China's Xinhua news agency, multitudes of travelers wait to get into the railway station in Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province, Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008. Trains were delayed after snow and ice damaged overhead power lines a couple of days ago, Xinhua said. (AP Photo/Xinhua, Wu Dongjun)

Alright, you sarcastic non-believers......just think how cold it would be without global warming!

These stories of massive freeze-outs remind me of the clintons' love-life.

jimmy the dhimmi gets a Nobel peace prize cause he doesn't qualify for a scientific prize. But he got the right answer. If you don't believe me just ask Algore.

Bear does have a point and if you don't believe me ask Oblio (or the dog).

just for the record, algore's version of "manmade" global warming is a hoax. To him, I say, IT'S THE SUN, STUPID!!

Now stop this nonsense. Surely you know by now that "climate change" versus "global warming" is the ticket. Therefore, any change in the average temperature up or down sows the seeds of man-made global disaster. It is written (by the new and improved Al Gore).

Everybody was kung-fu fighting!
Those cats were fast as lightening.
Their brawls were big-time showy
Because outside was mighty snowy.

There were funky roof collapses
down in funky China town
The folks were building markets up
The snow was knocking markets down

Repeat chorus

Uhhh...is anyone else a little mystified by this whole thing? I've seen very few articles on this that gives an actual amount to the snowfall. The only ones I've found claim there was a little over one foot of snow. Yet, they are claiming nearly $8 Billion in losses. I can swallow the electrical outages due to ice accumulation. But, the 870,000 dead pigs, 450,000 dead cattle et al. Huh?

And, of course, we learned rather recently that China inflated their GNP by over 40%. Is this really as bad as the media reports are saying? And, where is their information coming from? And, what could be gained by embellishing and inflating the problems? Maybe a nice "little" cash influx in the form of international aid.
