Rudy Giuliani Responds to Campaign Rumors

This ad posted below may be the best ad of the campaign season so far.
This rare ad actually talks about terrorist threat against our country.
Just yesterday in Gaza radical Islamists from Hamas were chanting "Death to America" while President Bush was working on a peace plan with Israel and Fatah.

The mainstream media obviously does not want to focus on this terror threat.
It may frighten Americans too much to picture an antiwar Obama or an unprincipled and corrupt Clinton in charge of the country in one year-- two democrats who voted to defund our troops at war.

Earlier today ABC reported that Giuliani campaign national finance co-chair Roy Bailey had stepped down from his volunteer position to return to his post at Giuliani Partners. ABC also reported that senior staffers for Giuliani's campaign took January pay cuts to allow the campaign to maximize resources. Campaign sources also reported that, "Giuliani and Bailey remain close personal friends and that that other issues, such as travel demands, were the primary reason for his stepping down. They add that the decision was not in regard to the campaign’s ability to raise funds."

The Giuliani campaign sent me their response to the critical reports from the anti-conservative media:

The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee today announced that the campaign has over $12.7 million cash on hand, with over $7 million in primary dollars. These numbers were reported as of December 31st, the end of the last reporting period.

“From day one our campaign has been focused on a national strategy built around the new primary calendar. As such, we’ve budgeted conservatively and effectively targeted our resources to win under this new system. We will have the funds necessary to carry out our campaign plan and deliver the Mayor’s message in Florida and beyond,” said Giuliani Campaign Manager Michael DuHaime.

I'm a FredHead myself, but it's a great ad. Unfortunately, I can't support Rudy on domestic issues, plus Hillary would rapidly turn the general election shadow campaign into a 'wronged woman vs. cheating man' contest (stupid I know, but that doesn't make it less likely).

But I don't think anyone is on the ropes; if nothing else, if we end up with a brokered convention, all bets are off and anything can happen.

It looks like there will be a great deal of balkanization of the delegates; we'll need someone to pull it all together.

GOOD FOR RUDY!! (thumbsup)

ironically though, what strikes me about the ad is the fact that clips like those are consistently airing on Arab tv to incite & promote support for their jihad cause..

whereas Rudy's ad is depicting what we are up against.. unfortunately it seems to me that way too many people are deaf dumb & blind to the reality of it all.. and still can't believe how uneducated the public is about what the global community is facing..

couldn't be because the MSM has Muslim censors on their payrolls who are also silencing the brave Muslims who dare speak out against Islamists could it?? gah!!

Fred seems to have a better understanding of this. He makes that snarky comment about "those virgins" at the debate; I thought I heard the phrase, "A religion - betrayed" in the Rudy ad.

If Rudy wins, I hope he simply does not take a position on whether Islam is or isn't a religion of peace. Leave it up to the Muslims to decide their own fate.

oh i'm all for that, but perhaps you didn't get the memo, the Islamists et al (not to mention Amadjerkoff) have made it our business.. as in their declared holy war on the world with the intent to establish a "Global Sharia Caliphate".. and i've got news for you, they may be losing the military battles, but their winning the political & propaganda wars..

Rudy is my man.
Not only will he be good for a strong national defense but he is a fiscal conservative. He took a crime ridden NYC and brought it back from the brink of bankruptcy. He cleaned up the city. He cut welfare in half and he took NYC (the most diverse city in the world) from being crime capital USA to the safest large city in the country.
Rudy has never had a problem being politically correct. He threw Arafat from the UN, stopped Castro from entering the country and refused a 10 million dollar check from a Saudi prince, yet his campaign he seems to be tip-toeing around who he is. He is not a social conservative. He is a moderate but he has promised to appoint “strict constructionist” to the Supreme Court. That's what you want.
I don't think Rudy is the man to "reunite," the American people because frankly, other then an apologetic socialist, I don't think anyone is going to make the liberals happy but he is the man needed to sway the moderates in the general election and that is who you need if you plan to win.

And Rudy, giving tax cuts to corporations is not a bad idea but ONLY if they are picking up the tab on employee medical and pension payments. Make it beneficial for them to provide insurance.
There are so many issues that can be addressed and everyone is stampeding to be the next Ronald Regan. We already had a Ronald Regan. Let's see who is the man that we now want to elect as the next president of the United States.

She (and the MSM) may try that. But it won't work. They have worked tirelessly to convince themselves---and us---that national security won't be the decisive issue. They're wrong.

Rudy and other moderates may not be able to win over the most right-leaning Republicans. But I think, in the end, most Relpublicans and more than enough independents will make national security their number one priority, a hurdle the candidate must get over before other issues get considered.

I like Fred, too. But I would be just as satisfied with Rudy...even Mitt. One advantage Rudy has: it sure would be fun watching him take on the Washington press corps!

Regarding any "shadow campaign" ... many, in the MSM and elsewhere, are misunderestimating the insight of social conservatives out in Flyover Country ... their conventional widsom is that Rudy is unelectable because of their aversion to his social agenda and personal failings.

Despite all the populist Huckamentia ... there are many, many more social conservatives -- even evangelicals like this transplanted Flyover Country redneck-in-a-blue-state -- who realize not only that there is more to consider in a President than his positions on gun control, abortion and gay marriage ...

... but that those battles can still be fought even with a Rudy in the White House, working around his shortcomings.

As much as the Dems would like to paint Rudy as the American Gigolo, we old blue-hair prudes know who REALLY embraces the libertine agenda!

As for me, there are three major aspects I am considering as I sort out the candidates:

What the candidate thinks ... and in that regard, Fred Thompson comes closest to where I stand.

How the candidate leads ... and both Fred and Rudy have a leadership attribute that I value highly ... the willingness to step on toes, if that is what it takes to get the job done. IMO, consensus without sound principle is the way of lemmings ... not leaders.

What the candidate GETS DONE ... and in that regard, those whose greatest achievement is filling a Senate seat are at a disadvantage. OTOH, all I have to do is drive to Times Square to check out Rudy's resume.

Tested. Ready. Now.

While Rudy still may, or may not, get my vote ... those are words to run a campaign by.

Definitely so.

imho part of the problem here is that the media want to crown a nominee - they dpn;t eant the voters too.

another problem is that up until now the primaries have been decided by non-republicans voting in open gop primaries.

that's no way for a party to select its standard bearer and should be halted.

mccain wouldn't stand a chance if the primaries were limited to registered voters.

and he shouldn't stand a chance.

also: the truncated primary season is idiotic.

we need a long drawn out one at a time primary run in order to really test the candidates.

3-4 primaries a week - on different days - every week from february to june.

and the candidates should be required to stay in - or at least NOT endorse another candidate until all the primaries are over.

as it stands now, the whole thing is a like a beauty contest and not a test of leadership skills and ability to rally people to the party and to enuciate the issus and the best policies to deal woth them.

imho.

It's also ridiculous that all our early primaries are in northern states, totally non representative of GOP strongholds. Why should northern moderates get to pick our candidate?

Mayor Guiliani followed David Dinkins.

Those of you with experience, either in government or, working with government agencies know that the entrenched bureacracy is a real, breathing, living thing.

He changed New York City. He can change State, Education...and imagine, a change at CIA.

Rudy rolls that way.

Rudy is my guy, particularly since the media does not like him.

The media likes,no loves McCain.

That's just not right, and trust me when McCain gets the nomination he will be utterly *shocked* how that pack of hyenas will turn and go after him.

I'm still undecided, but this is inspiring me to send a small check Rudy's way. I wouldn't mind a Thompson/Giuliani ticket and I think it's important for this guy to stay in the campaign. It's too early for him to back out - he has some important things to say.
