Archbishop of Canterbury Opts for Sharia Law

The Archbishop of Canterbury says that Muslims should not have to choose between "the stark alternatives of cultural loyalty or state loyalty".
The BBC reported:

The Archbishop of Canterbury says the adoption of certain aspects of Sharia law in the UK "seems unavoidable".

Dr Rowan Williams told Radio 4's World at One that the UK has to "face up to the fact" that some of its citizens do not relate to the British legal system.

Dr Williams argues that adopting parts of Islamic Sharia law would help maintain social cohesion.
UPDATE: The nutty archbishop faced backlash for his latest comments although it was also reported that Sharia courts are already operating in Great Briatain.

One more step on the road to slavery, pain and death -- and the Archfool of Canterbury is smiling as he leads his flock down the road to destruction.

Is there anything the media, academics, politicians and clergy will not do to support the vile religion called Islam and its evil ways? Look at what is happening throughout Europe:
http://www.kactuzkid.com/europe.html

It is not hard to see what is happening everywhere Muslims go. They seek special rights and they demand that we be silent. Our liberties mean nothing to them:
http://www.kactuzkid.com/liberty.html

The sad truth is that Muslims are not honest about their religion
http://www.kactuzkid.com/lies.html

Under sharia there can be no free speech and non-Muslims do not have the same rights as Muslims -- but the archbishop doesn't care.

The future will not be nice.

dang, i just posted about that in the Ruh-Roh Fox Mo thread, so pardon the repeat..

HT : American Congress for Truth

Sit down and take a deep breath before you read the article below..

Melanie Phillips, in her outstanding and must-read book Londonistan, documents how the political, educational and media elite in Great Britain, bowing at the altar of political correctness, made possible the Islamization of that country. In reference to the hundreds of thousands of Muslims who have immigrated to Great Britain in the past several years, she writes:

“Instead of acknowledging that Muslim values must give way wherever they conflict with the majority culture, they believe that the majority should instead defer to Islamic values and allow Muslims effectively autonomous development…No other minority attempts to impose its values on the host society like this” (p. xix).

This is “cultural jihad” at its most obvious. Remember: the holy books of Islam clearly and repeatedly exhort Muslims, as a duty to Allah, to advance Islam and the supremacy of Allah throughout the world, by whatever means necessary. Islamic terrorism is an obvious and frightening example of one of those means. Cultural jihad is just as ominous and perhaps more insidious, because it occurs gradually, incrementally, until the host is overwhelmed from within.

As Melanie Philips notes: “Instead of gaining a clear-eyed understanding of the ideology that so threatens it, Britain has thus been subverted by it” (p. xvii).

Islamic law in Britain 'unavoidable' - Archbishop

excerpt:

[In response, Prime Minister Gordon Brown's office said: "There are instances where the government has made changes in regulations, for example to include sharia-compliant mortgage products, but in general terms, sharia law cannot be used as a justification for committing breaches of English law, nor can the principle of sharia law be used in a civilian court."

"The prime minister is clear that in Britain, British laws based on British values will apply," a spokesman said.

"There are specific instances that get looked at on a case-by-case basis," he added, but only if the change was consistent with British values.]

Brown slaps down Archbishop's
call for sharia law in Britain

excerpt:

[Trevor Phillips, chairman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, said Dr Williams's comments gave "succour to extremists".

"He needs to understand that his words carry enormous weight," he said in a Channel 4 interview.

"What he seems to be talking about is a situation in which people are treated differently under the law according to their religion. People cannot be treated differently. Everyone should be equal in the eyes of the law.

"I don't doubt the archbishop's desire to accommodate diversity, but we cannot do so at the expense of our common values."

He described Dr Williams as "muddled" and "dangerous".

Mr Phillips was the first prominent Labour figure to condemn multiculturalism, the Left-wing doctrine which promotes different cultures.

He declared that under its influence Britain was sleepwalking to segregation.

Yesterday he said the "implication that British courts should treat people differently based on their faith is divisive and dangerous.

"It risks removing the protection afforded by law, for example, to children in custody cases or women in divorce proceedings.

"The first people who would suffer would be ethnic-minority citizens. Follow the logic of this extreme multiculturalism through and where do we end up?]

albeit might be too late for some countries (which will certainly make things twice as hard on US, not to mention they're already working hard on changing our laws inch by inch as well)..

which is why i keep posting about TMBP.. TMB has been stealthily infiltrating all branches of governments, educational institutions, etc.. not to mention the so called "free press" for at least 2 decades now.. so go ahead, keep denying, keep sleeping, soon enough there will be nothing left to add on to the "first they came for" list.. (no, i'm not saying this will happen overnight, but it is happening, and it will come to fruition sooner than you think if no serious actions are taken to stop it, because it's not going to go away on it's own, and our appeasing of Islam is only going to help the expansion of Sharia (Political Islam) to surge unabated)..

why do you think so many of us keep saying.. WAKE UP PEOPLE!?

You know, that is reallt not fair. I mean, if Muslims want to have Shria Law amongst themselves and they, as a community, agree with it, go ahead, BUT I WILL NOT EVER submit to Sharia law!

I would like to add the following: If a person moves to a country and does not obey the law, they should go to jail. If they refuse to obey the law for any reason (religious, cultural etc.) they don't have to live there. Move somewhere else!

AirborneVet @ 7:49 PM..

so you agree Governments should set aside their Constitutions to make way for Sharia?? seems to me you agree with TMB plan, emigrate (en mass), establish (Sharia law), take over (cities, towns, etc), claim (this land belongs to the Islamic community).. sort of like the Islamic Conquests of old.. only instead of wielding swords.. wield Political Islam to intimidate, threaten, and toss the infidels out if they refuse to assimilate or submit.. (watch the Gaddafi tape, read what he says, nuff said)..

AirborneVet @ 7:53 PM..

well now, that's the way it should be.. but it seems to be in opposition to your previous post, so i will give you the benefit of the doubt..

Sorry AirborneVet but you have a problem in that rationalization.
The clerics don't care if the population supports or doesn't support Sharia law. It is imposed and maintained by violence.
The Taliban did it in Afghanistan. They were and are ruthless and barbaric, frightening the population into compliance. They used the soccer stadiums as execution rings, offering up an example of what happens to those who do not submit and the thing about it, is they have no intention of compromising or recognizing the rights of Muslims or non-Muslims.
Europe is cleverly being Islamized under the flag of respecting other cultures. Radical Islam has no intention of respecting their population or yours. The population has no rights other then the rights decided for them. They will not give respect to you.
A little girl from Pakistan who is new in the United States, was asked how she liked America. Her reply was, "I feel safe for the first time in my life." She is 9, she is a girl and she is Muslim.

This is why the Anglican Church is going the way of the dinosaurs. It forfeited its authority when it split with the Pope and has been going downhill ever since.

Mitt Romney yesterday spoke to CPAC about the demographic disaster looming in Europe because it the decline in religion. This is a case in point.

First off, it is because the Anglican Church went down the road of unrighteousness that it has lost the following of good Christians who follow the Word of God, not because it is staying in the past. As for the Anglican Church forfeiting its authority when it split with the Pope, there couldn't have been a greater time in history when the Anglican Church shoved the pagan Roman Catholic Church to the curb. Unbelievable self-righteousness on on the part of the Roman Catholic Church.

Joanne,
Why don't you just take a deep breath and chillax.
As far as as splitting with the Catholic church, they had that right just as I have a right to be Catholic and you have a right to be vehemently anti-Catholic.
Not a very Christian attitude.

You know what bg? It doesn't bother me.
Here in the United States, we don't have the right to be not insulted. As long as she's not burning down Catholic churches and chopping off heads, she can believe whatever she wants....
We can both believe different things and I can still respect her.

Canterbury Tales of Dhimmitude

excerpts:

[The Archbishop of Canterbury has said that the import of Sharia law to the UK is “unavoidable.” He may have to wait a while, judging by the British reaction to such nonsense. But, at a deeper level, argues “Jimmy Bradshaw,” his comments reflect the failure of “liberal multiculturalism which has stressed difference over commonality and exceptionalism over universalism.”]

[If there is to be a change in the U.K in response to talk of Sharia courts and limitations of free speech such as “religious hatred” laws then it should be to remove the basis for claims of “double-standards.” We should see a move towards the full separation of church and state in the UK, the disestablishment of the Church of England and the removal of the Bishops (including the foolish Archbishop) from the political process.

A strong and even-handed secular state is the best defense against the re-emergence of clerical politics.]

Who will rid us of this troublesome priest?

excerpt:

[A month or two ago I wrote piece in this space on the Archbishop of Canterbury called “Rowan Williams, public embarassment.” That reflection was occasioned by His Grace’s opinion, expressed in the course of an interview with Emel, “The Muslim Lifestyle Magazine,” that “the United States wields its power in a way that is worse than Britain during its imperial heyday.” Obviously, the Archbishop (who once described himself, correctly, as “a hairy leftie”) meant it to sting (what could be worse for a leftie, hirsute or not, than being “imperial”?). As I pointed out, however, being compared to Imperial Britain would, by any ordinary standard of civilization and achievement, be high praise indeed. Everywhere Britain went, I noted, she “brought the rule of law, better education, better physical infrastructure, better health and hygiene, improved literacy, greater freedom, and greater civility.” Indeed, whenever anyone brings up Imperial Britain, I think of George Santayana’s observation about “The British Character” in his book Soliloquies in England, published in the early 1920s. “What governs the Englishman is his inner atmosphere,” Santayana wrote, “the weather in his soul.”]

[Where is Santayana when you need him? What, I wonder, would he have had to say about Archbishop Williams’s declaration earlier today that the adoption of Islamic Sharia law in Britain is “unavoidable.” In a widely reported lecture on BBC radio 4 the Archbishop called for a “constructive accommodation with some aspects of Muslim law” and said that Britons must “face up to the fact” that some of its citizens do not “relate” to the British legal system. “Constructive accommodation”: let’s see, I guess that is British English for “spineless capitulation”?

And what is all this about Muslim Brits not “relating” to the law? The rule of law is is not a lifestyle choice: it is not something you can opt out of if you happen to have alternative inclinations. “Gee, in my religion, we stone adulteresses to death, so would you mind stepping aside and handing me that pile of rocks?”

The proper answer to such gambits was formulated in the 19th century by General Charles Napier when dealing with sutte, the Indian custom of burning a widow on her husband’s funeral pyre: “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”]
