BUSTED... Obama Knew Wright Was Wrong Last Year

Barack Obama knew his pastor Jeremiah Wright was a liability LAST YEAR.
(So did the media who refused to look into the story)
But, he denied this last night when he made the cable rounds...
Even though it is documented that Barack has attended these hatefilled sermons, via American Power.

Obama said last night on FOXNews, via HotAir:

"When I saw these statements which I had heard for the first time. Then I thought it was clear that I had to make a clear and unequivocal statement. None of these statements were ones that I had heard myself personally in the pews. One of them I had heard about after I had started running for president and I put out a statement at that time condemning them. The other statements were ones that I just heard about when they started being run on FOX and some of the other stations."
But... If Obama knew about the incendiary remarks by Wright after he decided to run for president why did he disinvite Jeremiah Wright from his candidacy announcement?

Conservative author Larry Elder is not convinced:

Via Gerald at Large on FOX News.

Holy Smokes! The mainstream news is even delving into the Jeremiah Wright scandal.
Jake Tapper at ABC News reported:

Obama told CNN that he "didn't know about all these statements. I knew about one or two of these statements that had been made. One or two statements would not lead me to distance myself from either my church or my pastor. ... If I had thought that was the tenor or tone on an ongoing basis, then yes, I don't think it would have been reflective of my values."

But according to a New York Times story from a year ago, the Obama campaign dis-invited Wright from delivering a public invocation at Obama's candidacy announcement.

“Fifteen minutes before Shabbos I get a call from Barack,” Wright told the Times. “One of his members had talked him into uninviting me."

In a phone call with Wright, Obama cited a Rolling Stone story, “The Radical Roots of Barack Obama," (the name of which has curiously been changed on the RS website) and told him, according to Wright, “You can get kind of rough in the sermons, so what we’ve decided is that it’s best for you not to be out there in public.”

And there is the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, a sprawling, profane bear of a preacher, a kind of black ministerial institution, with his own radio shows and guest preaching gigs across the country. Wright takes the pulpit here one Sunday and solemnly, sonorously declares that he will recite 10 essential facts about the United States. 'Fact number one: We've got more black men in prison than there are in college,' he intones. 'Fact number two: Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run!' There is thumping applause; Wright has a cadence and power that make Obama sound like John Kerry. Now the reverend begins to preach. 'We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns and the training of professional KILLERS. ... We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. ... We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. ... We care nothing about human life if the ends justify the means!" The crowd whoops and amens as Wright builds to his climax: 'And. And. And! GAWD! Has GOT! To be SICK! OF THIS S***!'"
FOX News interviewed author Larry Elder earlier and he isn't buying Obama’s denunciation of Jeremiah Wright.

This is what Barack Obama told Anderson Cooper last night on CNN:

COOPER: Did you not know, though, that, I mean, a couple days after 9/11, he said, you know, this was America's chickens coming home to roost, a result of what he called American terrorism around the world?

COOPER: I mean, you may not have been there, but have you -- you must have heard that he had said these things.

OBAMA: You know, I confess that I did not hear about this until -- until I started running for president.

And then there was a story that was issued in which I strongly objected to these statements and condemned them. But what I also understood that was -- was Reverend Wright was on the verge of retirement and that a new pastor was coming in. The church family was one that was very important to me. It's where my wife and I got married. It's where our children were baptized. And, so, my belief was that this was something out of the ordinary. Obviously, some of these statements indicate that this was happening more frequently.

But I also want to say this, Anderson. This is somebody who was a former U.S. Marine, who is a biblical scholar, who's preached and taught at theological seminaries all across the country, and has had a reputation as a preeminent preacher in the country.

And, so, I have to strongly condemn the statements that were made. They do not reflect my views or Michelle's views, or probably the views of many people in the church.

On the other hand, you know, Reverend Wright is somebody who is like an uncle or a family member who you may strongly object to what they have to say, but, as he's about to retire, I have no intention of leaving the church itself.

COOPER: But, I mean, uncles are blood relatives who you're kind of stuck with at family gatherings, even when they say outrageous things. You can't get rid of them.

You can walk out of a church. You can walk go up to a pastor and say, this is wrong.

OBAMA: And, as I said, Anderson, if I had heard any of those statements, I probably would have walked up, and I probably would have told Reverend Wright that they were wrong.

But they were not statements that I heard when I was in church.

COOPER: So, no one in the church ever said to you, man, last week, you missed this sermon; Reverend Wright said this; or...

OBAMA: No.

COOPER: I mean, I think I read in your books that you listened to tapes of Reverend Wright when you were at Harvard Law School.

OBAMA: I did.
** The fact that Barack and Michelle Obama stay committed to this racist church with its new controversial pastor is very disturbing.

The Trinity United Church of Christ has not changed just because it has a new pastor.

Obama and the Sojourners for Hamas

with an Obama Presidency in the offing (which i believe is fixed), is it any wonder Hamas is bragging about their usage of women, children & elderly as human shields??

And so it went, a meditation on a fallen world. While the boys next to me doodled on their church bulletin, Reverend Wright spoke of Sharpsville and Hiroshima, the callousness of policy makers in the White House and in the State House.]

Also from Hot Air, the Jim Davis story:

"Presidential candidate Barack Obama preaches on the campaign trail that America needs a new consensus based on faith and bipartisanship, yet he continues to attend a controversial Chicago church whose pastor routinely refers to "white arrogance" and "the United States of White America."

"In fact, Obama was in attendance at the church when these statements were made on July 22.
Obama has spoken and written of his special relationship with that pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr."

Obama's busted alright.

This is enough to bring down a presidential campaign.

heh, one would logically assume.. but lets face it, if he had an R after his name (even if he were black and/or a women), he wouldn't still be in the running.. something has been very wrong with this whole race from get go.. makes me wonder just how infiltrated the government is, never mind the Dems..

You people are delusional if you think this will affect Obama in any way. The only people who buy this garbage are the ones who weren't going to vote for him anyway: the conservatards of the world.

To the rest of us thinking Americans, this is irrelevant.

If, by some chance, Obama does leave the race (which will NOT happen), then America loses the only candidate with integrity and family values running this year. That would America's loss.

This one thing probably won't hurt Obama though he gave an amatuerish defense. But it is the cumulative effect of one of these episodes each and every week that turns off Independents like myself. We are the ones that make or break an election and I know a snake oil salesmen when I see one.

I mean what the hell is hope ? Hope for what ? Change ? Well obviously things are going to change. They're empty hollow phrases that enthrall the rubes.

A candidate cannot direct his message to 15% of the population and expect it to not hurt his position with the other 85% of us. Nor should a man that can call himself both black and white claim himself exclusively as a member of the minority of those groups. A uniter would be a fool to do this.

It is also an absurdity with the divison in the party to even claim he is a uniter.

He may be a great guy, personally I think he appears to be an interesting guy, but I would never vote for him simply because of his lack of experience. Don't care about the color. He is after all as much white as he is black. If Condi Rice was running I'd vote for her in an instant. But this isn't American Idol and the consequences of our vote is very serious.

He's never managed anything of substance. He's a freshman Senator. How does that qualify him to be POTUS? Name something he has done. Most of his followers can't. If it's symbolism you want then Obama is your guy. But not if you want substance.

He is the kind of guy that a large corporation would hire as a mid-level VP and would probably hit his peter-point about there.

Then look at who his advocates are; Jew and White hater Louis Farrakan , this bigoted racist preacher blaming everyone but the black community themselves for their own cultural failings such as fatherless families and the inordinate number of black-on-black crimes and males in prison, every dictatorial leader of nations that hate us and their domestic allies that hate us even more, our enemies ( wonder why they support him ? ),those whites wanting to feel better about themselves to alleviate their angst of white-guilt, pretty people that went from waitresses and busboys to fame in Hollywood thinking that their political astuteness somehow developed proportionaly ? These are dreamers and the world is too real to put our national well-being at this time in history into the hands of a novice and a dreamer that has never so much as ran a company.

Then again... Bill Clinton's garbage was well known in 92 and the same types of people as these Obamanoids put him in office. It only took them 16 years to figure out what a sleazoid this guy was. Something conservatives realized the first time he opend his mouth.

Kinda makes you wonder who the real tards are.

The democratic campaign is hillarious. The more vague you are the better you do, for a while anyway. Until people start wondering, what isn't he saying? Then videos like this start surfacing.
The very fact that people are even talking about Geraldine Ferraro's comment being racist was rediculous. She was merely saying that the only thing that makes him stand out is that he is black. If he was a woman running against another woman saying exactly what he is saying now he would not have made it this far.
I would also like to add that his mission for change has no basis. Change how? For what? You know I recall hearing a speach that Hitler made saying pretty much the same thing! People can be so gulable.
Back to the matter at hand, his pastor and his relationship; I have one thing to say. Pastor Wright is obviously an extremist. This apparently went on long enough that someone brought a video camera to record such goings on. Birds of a feather flock together. Especially when you're talking about religious beliefs. I don't go to a church that I don't agree with-does anyone else? Obama's cat has been let out of the bag. He's too quiet about what he truly believes in because he knows that too many people would disagree with him and it would throw his campaign.
If he get the democratic ticket, the democrats will certainly lose.

re: Larry Elders..

excerpt:

[WOLF BLITZER: He says Democrats want blacks to focus only in on one issue -- that would be race -- and that Republicans have better ideas to actually advance black Americans. Larry Elder is a radio talk show host. He's the author of a new and controversial book entitled Stupid Black Men: How to Play the Race Card and Lose. Larry is here.

LARRY ELDER: You said it, Wolf. You said it.

BLITZER: I said what?

ELDER: You said "Stupid Black Men." Thank you for-

BLITZER: Stupid Black Men is the title of this book. And that's a controversial title. How to Play the Race Card and Lose. You got to explain how you came up with this title because the title alone is generating a lot of commotion out there.

ELDER: Which proves my point. My point behind the book, Wolf, is that white racism is no longer a major problem in America anymore. And the fact that people recoil by the title shows you that they're reluctant to be perceived as racist. You know, we have a country now where Barack Obama is on the brink of possibly becoming the next President of the United States. He's winning primaries in places like Iowa, Idaho. He finished a strong second in New Hampshire. White racism is no longer a major problem in America anymore.

BLITZER: But there's still plenty of racism out there, you know. There are all these incidents you see of racial hatred. It's still a problem. It may not be as bad as it was 30 or 40 years ago, but it's still a problem.

ELDER: Wolf, they are incidents, as you pointed out. They are not, they're not frequent anymore, thank God. We now have a country where, if you go to college, go to high school, don't make bad moral mistakes, keep your nose clean, you can make it in America. If you can't make it here, you can't make it anywhere. But many Democrats don't want black people to think that for their own exploitative reasons. Why? They want that 95 percent monolithic black vote without which they cannot win at the presidential level.

BLITZER: Tell us why you think black Americans would actually be better off with Republicans.

ELDER: The Democrats want blacks to focus on white racism. Why? Because if you go point by point by point and look at some of the Republican ideas, they will disproportionately benefit black people. I'll give you one: vouchers-

BLITZER: Let's talk about, let's talk about tax cuts for the rich.

ELDER: Tax cuts, as my dad used to say, my dad was a janitor, worked two jobs as a janitor. "I've never gotten a job from a poor person." Tax cuts benefit everybody. If not poor people directly, they benefit their bosses who have more money to hire them and buy plants and buy equipment and buy resources. So tax cuts benefit America, not just rich people. But Democrats don't want you to focus on things like vouchers. In California, we had a referendum a few years ago. It failed. But it passed, Wolf, interestingly, among inner city parents. They wanted their kids to have the right to go to the school that they wanted them to go to. That's a Republican idea.

BLITZER: Why do Republicans have so much trouble attracting African-American support?

ELDER: Because of the perceived history of the Republican party. The Democratic party has a pretty skanky background, Wolf. After the Civil War, you had all these Democrats that were there voting against civil rights legislation. Republicans, as a percentage of the party, more of them voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 than did Democrats. Al Gore's dad voted against it. Democrats founded the Klan. I'm not saying the party, but those who founded the Klan were, in fact, Democrats, and one of their goals was to stop the spread of Republicanism.

BLITZER: How worried are you, and you're obviously sympathetic to the Republicans, that if Barack Obama gets the Democratic presidential nomination, that there could be elements of racism that come up from the other side?

ELDER: I'm sure there are people who won't vote for him because he's black. I'm sure there are people who are voting for him because he's black.

BLITZER: No, I'm talking about the Willie Horton kind of commercials, the ads that could be used against potentially against Barack Obama.

ELDER: I think if Republicans, and they won't, were to go that low, there would be such a backlash that it would backfire. It would be counterproductive. Nobody wants that. There aren't going to be people running those kinds of ads, not establishment types. Maybe some wing nuts might be doing it. But, by and large, Wolf, this country has evolved. This is not your grandfather's America.]

(thumbsup)
