Soros Front Group Releases First McCain Attack Ad

The Campaign To Defend America, a new pro-Democratic 501(c)(4) issue-advocacy group, funded by The Fund For America, a Democratic 527 group came out with their first anti-McCain ad today.

The Fund for America is led by former Clinton chief of staff John Podesta and has $100 million in the bank to fund its attacks on McCain and Republicans. Podesta is also a the President of the Center for American Progress, a progressive think tank in Washington, D.C. that received its funding from George Soros.

Mary Katharine Ham noted that the advocacy group is funding the historically impoverished demographic of... Hollywood executives. First Tuesday Media, a political production company, received funding from the group and is being paid to produce the attack ads.

Here is today's first anti-McCain ad, via TPM:

With $100 million in the bank, it looks like this is the first of many attacks on Senator McCain.

Karl at Protein Wisdom today said:

"I also suspect that the DNC has already collected every photo and snippet of footage of the two together to brand McCain as BushCo III."
It looks like Karl would be correct on that.
The democratic plan is clear-- smear McCain as much as the Democratic machine (media, Hollywood, Congress) did Bush until he starts to smell like dead fish.
If McCain really does take after Bush and does not fight back-- It just might work.

Lonewacko has more on those behind this attack ad including George Soros and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

May I presume, then, that ads linking Obama to Farrakhan will be okay?

Meanwhile the clueless Manchurian Candidate insists on playing the part of the gallant, polite opponent by throw yet another supporter under the the wheels of the B.S. Express bus:

Another day, another Clinton crack

What will Republicans do if they don't have the Clintons to kick around?

For the second day in a row at a McCain town hall, a questioner took the mic to level an insult at the former first family.

Referring to Cindy McCain's introduction, a man said this afternoon in Houston: "Unlike other candidates in the race, if Cindy answers the phone, she won’t be wondering where her husband is."

Which brought forth gales of laughter, applause and many smiles, including one from Cindy McCain.

Once again, though, the candidate was forced to disassociate himself from the comments.

While acknowledging the line was "meant in humor," McCain said: "Americans want us to have a respectful campaign."

Which also got applause. But not nearly as much as the original line.

So I ask you all, what does it mean that the McCain was, "forced"?

Was someone threatening to waterboard the geezer if he didn't?

McCain … McSame

$100 million and that's the best they can do?

Don't think McCain has much to worry about.

I'm not sure BDS is a good platform.

I'm not sure emphasizing Democrat Copperhead tendencies is a good way to win an election.
