EASTER MASS ATTACK!! Protesters Scream & Spray Fake Blood at Churchgoers
NOT JUST ANTIWAR...
Leftist Protesters Attack Catholic Worshippers at Easter Mass in Chicago
The Progressives squirted fake blood around on the Catholics attending Easter Mass this morning!!
They waited until the Homily (sermon in the middle of the mass) to disrupt the Easter Sunday church service.

Carl in Jerusalem has video of this outrageous attack on the Catholic Church.
Antiwar protesters disrupted an Easter Mass celebration in Chicago today SCREAMING and SPRAYING fake blood at church-goers!
FOX News reported:
CHICAGO — Six Iraq war protesters disrupted an Easter Mass on Sunday, shouting and squirting fake blood on themselves and parishioners in a packed auditorium.** The International Solidarity Movement is a Palestinian organisation that calls on civilians from around the world to participate in acts of non-violent protests against the Israeli military in the West Bank and previously the Gaza Strip(?)
Three men and three women startled the crowd during Cardinal Francis George's homily, yelling "Even the Pope calls for peace" as they were removed from the Mass by security guards and ushers.
One Mass attendee, Mike Wainscott of Chicago, yelled at the anti-war protesters.
"Are you happy with yourselves?" he said. "There were kids in there. You scared little kids with your selfish act. Are you happy now?"
The group, which calls itself Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War, said in a statement after the arrests that they targeted the Holy Name Cathedral on Easter to reach a large audience, including Chicago's most prominent Catholic citizens and the press, which usually covers the services.
Kevin Clark of International Solidarity Movement told the Chicago Tribune that he attended the Mass to serve as a witness for the protesters.
"If Cardinal George is a man of peace and is walking the walk and talking the talk, he should have confronted George Bush and demanded an immediate end to the war," Clark said.
...Palestinian Group???
Charles Johnson describes ISM as a left-wing pro-terrorist group that spawned Rachel Corrie.
Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War claim they are a humorous, political street threatre group composed of college students and young adults. The group was formed in October of 2006 and meets twice per month.
The Tribune reported:
The protesters were all charged with felony criminal damage to property and two counts of simple battery for squirting the blood around the auditorium and onto worshipers' clothes, authorities said. Chicago police identified the six arrested as Donte D. Smith, 18; Ephran Ramirez Jr., 22; Ryane Ziemba, 25; Mercedes Phinaih, 18; Regan Maher, 25; and Angela Haban, 20.More... My God! What is wrong with these people?
The six protesters will appear in bond court at 9 a.m. Monday on their felony charges. They will appear in misdemeanor court on March 31 at 9 a.m.
UPDATE: (Monday) The protesters were arraigned today.

No shame. No civility. Thugs and cretins. Such is tolerance from the lefty, anti-Americans.
Given that I would never ever advocate something like a number of people collectively dragging these pusbags out to the sidewalk and proceeding to beat the living $h!+ out of them as they so richly, passionately deserve....
I would never advocate such a thing, you understand..
Though it is interesting to consider that it is a fair bet that not one, not ONE person who was undecided in such issues suddenly saw the light and said, "yeah, NOW I get it, I'm with these folks all the way!" But it is a fair bet that many had an exact opposite reaction.
(A college event where Reagan's UN ambassador Jeanne Kirkpatrick saw her speech disrupted by such twits waving Nazi banners made me a lifelong Republican. WhatEVER these people are for, I am against, whatEVER they are against I am for, and there was no looking back from that moment.)
So they really are hurting their own cause. And I believe they know this. They just don't care. Because what they are doing is fun, a thrill, and goes totally unpunished, except in the harm to their own professed cause, which they really don't care about, so ... again, unpunished.
Rich bloated plutocrats can't hold a candle to these people when it comes to unbridled selfishness and narcissism.
This crap has to end, I am sick of this, I have to tell you if that happened in my Church they would have been on their hands and knees not praying but looking for their teeth!
How were the churchgoers supposed to know these wackos weren't spraying them with real blood (that could have very well been HIV or another disease positive)?
I'm a Christian, and I normally wouldn't say violence solves much - but I sure hope one of the people in that church caught them with a right hook and pulled them out of the sanctuary.
Pathological narcissism. These people are criminally insane.
Whose idea was it to outlaw scourging? These idiots would be the perfect candidates.
"If Cardinal George is a man of peace and is walking the walk and talking the talk, he should have confronted George Bush and demanded an immediate end to the war," Clark said.
I'm curious why these people never seem to demand an immediate end to the war from Al Qaeda. Because, alhtough we could certainly execute an immediate pull out from Iraq, only the most immense moron could possibly believe that would mean an immediate end to the war. On the contrary, what it would mean is granting a reprieve to the forces of an insanely inhuman and malevolent ideology who would do their level best to subjugate millions of people to their murderous ways. And in my mind, that's not something to be proud of or to crow about.
I was on the fence about the war until now. But Chicago Schoolgirls convinced me: I now fully support the war and George Bush.
Well Happy Easter. Just when I thought nothing could possibly make me dislike anti-war protesters more.
My only regret was that I was not there to be able to help 'escort' these guys out of the cathedral (actually auditorium - the cathedral is closed for renovation).
A friend who sings in the choir said that Cardinal George handled it incredibly well. She said that some of her fellow singers (non-Catholic) were VERY impressed by Cardinal George's handling of this and it left them more positively disposed towards the Church. I am guessing that was not the intention of the protesters.
Judging from the links and forums found there, this group is probably affiliated with UFPJ, you see the usual Code Pink etc. activities at ICPJ (Illinois Coalition for Peace and Justice) here:
http://www.ilcpj.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumID=2
Also, thanks kindly for the linkback on the Pakistan terror article above.
Isn't "Social Justice" a big theme for Barack?
Hrmmm WIki on ISM, this group appears to have ties to PA and Rachel Corrie, St. Pancake:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Solidarity_Movement
Thought they sounded familiar.
>>How were the churchgoers supposed to know these wackos weren't spraying them with real blood (that could have very well been HIV or another disease positive)?<<
In my opinion, that question is exactly why it would have been reasonable for parishioners to counterattack with any level of violence needed to stop the attackers in their tracks.
Even if it was plainly not real blood, that does not mean that it clearly wasn't toxic or otherwise dangerous.
I think that countervailing violence would have been justifiable in efforts to protect neighbors, children, and selves.
These idiots have no idea what risks they are running.
What is it about these people who think that they should be able to write Cardinal George's homily to be delivered on Easter? And enforce it with bloody intimidation at Mass? When the Pope has called repeatedly for an end to the conflict in Iraq.
No, these narcissists care for nothing but the sound of their own voice. May God have mercy on their souls, but may the state exact the full measure of punishment due them.
Mebbe they care more about the people being killed than about the hypocrites sitting in the pews. Or on this blog.
And it's spelled TUCSON, dumbass.
And once again I wonder how they could possibly believe this would further their cause.
I see one big "Hate Crime".
These punks are in big trouble.
Easy target, that church. If they were really "brave", they could have tried this is a mosque.
If they are convicted of a felony do they permanently lose the right to vote? This could weed out their ranks a little.
I'd strongly suggest removing pictures of the individuals from the site. Why should they get "face time" for acting atrociously, no one but their mothers and law enforcement need to know who they are or their names.
Obviously it is a minor miracle that these folks could find 5 other like minded individuals with which to socialize, never mind to protest alongside.
I'm guessing that if there were no media coverage of the event and if they didn't get individual credit that their "strong" feelings about the war would become a lot weaker. There is a big difference between conscientious objection and terrorism. One can peacefully protest and get out a message without hurting others. People who need to destroy property and hurt others are attention whores and just want their sound byte on tv - same as the Code Pink crew, folks like these give the 1st amendment a bad name.
thanks for putting up the pics of these traitors and bigots thse scum need to be greated by a 'education comm'
yochanan
I suspect it is the only way these dweebs think they can get laid. I mean those left-wing gals are usually very unattractive in looks and mind and serious insecurities. I mean look at those six.
Given that I would never ever advocate something like a number of people collectively dragging these pusbags out to the sidewalk and proceeding to beat the living $h!+ out of them as they so richly, passionately deserve....
I would never advocate such a thing, you understand.
Agreed. If anything, there should be a $5 fine for smacking those weasels around.
a theatre group??
guess they got sick of no one wanting to go anywhere to see and hear them.
Oh, I'm sure many will go now.
I was always intimidated of the theatre and arts.
I'm just such an uncivilized rube - always thought I'd make an ass of myself; passing gas, snoring, or throwing gallons of paint at the actors and rushing the stage to destroy their sets as I screamed about the plight of Eskimo whalers.
maybe I am more cultured than I thought.
They meet twice a month huh? see you there.
What a pathetic looking group of misfits.
My son played the guitar at our Easter mass.
Yes, I'm a proud mama.
The ISM is scum. This tantrum of theirs proves it.
God those "kids" are ugly! Gotta be a connection to their political views.
As I sat in Mass this morning with my back to the entrance of the church, I was looking for exit paths and people who might help me if the church was attacked. My cousin was there, former Major, US Army, good. My son was there, police officer, good. Why do I have to do theses things? The muslim terrorists and their left wing supporters. I just hope people wake up before we lose this war. And I hope these street theater types begin to understand how many of us are out there who are willing to hit them hard first, and then ask questions. I is difficult to stay peaceful and pray when you are worried about hand grenades, peppers spray and bomb belts.
If these 6 were living in the same reality the rest of us do, they would understand that the culture that they despise allows them the freedom that they are enjoying by protesting like this with the only consequences being a relatively mild slap on the wrist, and that those we are fighting against want to impose a culture that would put these protesters up against the wall first, simply for not believing as the Islamowackos do.
They do not understand the damage they do to their own culture, nor the moral aid and comfort they give our enemies abroad.
Nor do they care, for they believe their cause is just, and any means to the end is OK.
One other thing. These people are few and number, and are well outside the mainstream, but are able to punch above their weight due to their un-indicted co-conspirators in the major news media, who obscure the fact that these protesters are really just a very vocal extreme minority, who fail to inform their audience that the funding of these groups comes ultimately from but a few sources, filtered through who only knows how many front organizations (George Soros, I'm looking squarely at you here), and who uncritically parrots the news releases these groups put out without comment or fact checking.
Anybody can get away with insulting and interfering with the free practicing of one's beliefs, as long as the people being insulted are Christians. The media generally gives these people a free pass and labels their hate crimes as merely an exercise of free speech. But I DARE any one of these imbeciles to try walking into a mosque and pulling that same stunt. Or better yet, put religion aside and see what would happen if they picked a less peaceful venue, like an NRA chapter meeting?
"Easy target, that church. If they were really "brave", they could have tried this is a mosque."
Or at Wright's Trinity.
"Why should they get 'face time' for acting atrociously, no one but their mothers and law enforcement need to know who they are or their names."
I respectfully disagree. Let the world know who they are, so that it can avoid interacting with them.
I may start going to church in the hopes that these punks will show up with their sideshow. How often in life do you have the opportunity to deliver a true and righteous beat down?
Oh, and Trog... have you seen what happens to neighborhoods in Baghdad, Anbar and Diyala when AQI moves in and takes over? Do you wish that on those people? What do you think is a better and more humane strategy than staying there to protect them until they can protect themselves? Are you completely insensitive to the Iraqis because they're brown people? Damned racist bigot.
over the years you start to notice people like this always have a problem with something. Interestingly it is always something that 'mericans are doing wrong, or doing not well... or whatever.
Punks have the guts to protest the atrocity of Darfur at a Mosque? Doubt if they have the cajones.
Stupid thing? If they had asked Cardinal for a forum, I'm sure on most days BUT THIS ONE he would have granted it. But see now they rant and wail about how they did something in an effort to implement whirled peas.
You know people, I'm not a Christian and I find the whole Christian thing rather laughable (replace "Christian" with almost any other religion, especially the monotheist ones).
BUT...
I'd NEVER do anything like that. Never. This incident shows again how outright stupid those "anti war activists" (I prefer referring to them as "morons" or C.E.S.M.s -cheese-eating surrender monkeys) really are. So running into a church, scaring the living shit out of the little children that are there, is "protest"?
Frankly, if they'd scare my little niece like this... I'd deck the whole lot.
I have an idea: send them to Iran, have them protest there. Curious how long they'd last there. 5 minutes?
They should also rename themsevles. First I thought a group of actual schoolgirls in school uniform stormed the church! Thanks for getting my hopes up! Empty promises! :P
Wow. Maybe I wasn't such an obnoxious idiot when I was in my twenties after all.
Let's see what they accomplished. In order to gain a little notoriety among their peers, they stepped on the rights of people to practice their religious freedom and scared a bunch of kids in their Easter best to boot.
The more they rant, rave and throw tantrums, the more support among American people they lose. Please, don't let me interrupt you as you are shooting yourself in the foot.
Thanks for showing the American people exactly who you are and it ain't pretty.
Tyree, I'll second your words with an "Oorah!". I watch the entrances from where I sit at Mass, and I always attend armed.
What is wrong with these people?
Not enough facial bruises.
Another fine example of how to make friends and influence people, NOT.
"Easy target, that church. If they were really "brave", they could have tried this is a mosque."
I think we all know that they would never, ever protest in a mosque or rev wright's church. These protesters are all about living the fantasy of pretending to be relevant and brave. They are neither.
There are mosques in Chicago which teach hatred and intolerance toward non-Muslims and which support terrorism around the world. Would these self-described "peace" activists visit one of those mosques and disrupt services? Not a chance, because they aren't for peace they are just for anyone who wants to destroy the West.
As Deep Throat said "Follow the money.". If you do it will lead back to some very familiar names. Two of the most familiar are Teresa Heinz-Kerry through her Tides Foundation and George Soros though his Open Society Institute and Fund. Please note that one of these people is the "wife" of a US Senator and the other basically "owns" the Democratic party.
www.discoverthenetworks.org is a very handy tool. Go wander around there and you will see that all these radical groups are all funded by the same 30 or so people and operate under the same 5 or so "umbrella organizations". In this case the ISM operates under United For Peace and Justice.
From discoverthenetworks.org
UFPJ was officially created on October 25, 2002 in the Washington, DC offices of People For the American Way. Its initial membership consisted of approximately 70 organizations. Prior to UFPJ's founding, the anti-war movement had earned a reputation as a hodgepodge of radical elements. All the large-scale peace demonstrations to that point had been held under the auspices of International ANSWER, an organization aligned with the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party; Global Exchange, headed by the longtime pro-Castro communist Medea Benjamin; and Not In Our Name, a project organized by Ramsey Clark and fellow leaders of the Revolutionary Communist Party. United For Peace and Justice was created explicitly to put a milder face on the anti-war movement, although from its inception UFPJ shared with the aforementioned groups a passionate hatred for the United States and for capitalism.
It is important to know where they get their funding from because once you understand who pays them you can predict what they will do and why.
Here is my prediction.
It is going to be a very long, hot summer. Desperate people do desperate acts. You see, they have an Islamofascism loving Marxist candidate in Barak Obama that up until about two weeks ago looked like they could get him elected. Well, ol' Barak is looking more Nixonian with each passing day and I would guess that they know now that there is no way the Democrats will nominate him unless they are intimidated into doing so. So they are going to set loose their rabid dogs in the form of their Hydra headed "anti war/racist/anti Christian/anti Israel/environmentalist" organizations to do precisely that.
Unfortunately for them I do not think the American public will tolerate their antics for very long. This is not 1968, it is 2008. The world has changed, they have not. They may manage to get him nominated but they will not get him elected. If they fail to get Obama elected they will then become more and more violent. Do not be surprised to see bombings and splodydopes by Christmastime. And I will be willing to bet that the perps will be idjits just like these.
If I were given a choice of either receiving $10,000 or getting to kick that blond guy in the nuts as hard as I could, I honestly am not sure I would take the cash.
Adam, you can always get more money, but seriously this isjust the start, these people will start killing people before the end.
Chicago, Ill. Definetly a gun free zone. Easter Mass disrupted by shouting, "blood" tossing lunatics.
Connection?
How "brave" of them.
I'm a Christian, wife and mother.
But I'm a very flawed Christian, who would easily smash the teeth in of one of these skanks for terrorizing my children.
Ladies & Gentlemen, take a good long look. This is the 'grass roots' of the left, the cornerstone of the Democrat Party and the darlings of the mainstream media. And each and every one of them is a poster child for Prozac.
Ladies & Gentlemen, take a good long look. This is the 'grass roots' of the left, the cornerstone of the Democrat Party and the darlings of the mainstream media. And each and every one of them is a poster child for Prozac.
BINGO! We have a winner!
Use the Left's tools against them. Sue them for Emotional Distress. I figure about a mil per distressed person should do it.
And do not forget to attach every front group that supports them to the suit, it should cost them about ten grand or so each to get detached. These people complain that money is the only thing the Right thinks of, but when their own money is threatened...
ACT UP! St. Patricks Catheral, NYC. 7 members decided to recieve the host and then spit it out (late 80's). I think that was the first time this sort of thing happened.
It's interesting that they look like one would expect them to look.
I wonder if these organizations can be charged under the Federal RICO statues for crimes involving conspiracy and depriving citizens of their constitutional rights?
IF they tried this in a Chicago mosque, they would have left feet first...
This crap has to end, I am sick of this, I have to tell you if that happened in my Church they would have been on their hands and knees not praying but looking for their teeth!.....
oh,you, lovely Christian people with your comments about beating and physically attacking people protesting for peace.. I thought your religious myths were all about forgiveness and love. Perhaps all you tough guys should sign up to go kill some babies and then get blown up yourself in Iraq?
They are notable for one thing: their youth. College has had the same effect on them as it had on me 30 years ago. It has poisoned their minds.
2 things:
Easter Mass was in a movie theatre type auditorium (look at the pictures of the seating)with no kneelers?
Rachel Corrie was not a "terrorist". She was peacefully standing in front of a house that was one of several being bulldozed.
My, my, my. All this outrage, and yet I would bet that a lot of it is from people who would support the 'right' of protesters to spray blood on people in front of a Planned Parenthood location...
And anyone who has advocated violence? Leave the church, you're a pathetic excuse for a Christian. You're lucky that hypocrisy isn't one of the seven sins.
Wow, you people take a paltry SIX troublemakers and pretend they represent "the Left," or "how college poisons kids' minds," or "the young generation?" That's the most pathetic guilt-by-asociation argument I've seen since the last time a creationist tried to blame evolution for the Holocaust. Grow up and get a grip already.
Disrupting services at a Catholic church with a 'anti-war' protest... *yawn*... Very unimpressive. At least this event represents the first time these dysfunctional, anti-social, wastes of oxygen wore clothing that didn't consist of Birkenstocks and tie-dyes.
Hey 'Raging Bee', tell me something... did your parents have any kids that lived?
Christ taught that we should "turn the other cheek." But we only have two cheeks.
And Christ also made a whip and drove the moneychangers out of the temple.
I believe in allowing the judicial system to work. But it seems that all too often there are few consequences for outrageous actions. If the system fails to work, I am of the opinion that the people then have the right and obligation to enforce civility. When government fails to protect the people, and showing that actions have few or no consequences is a form of failure, then those of us who believe in a civil society must band together to protect ourselves from those who apparently only want anarchy. Only then will the government realize it must do its duty or the leaders of government will be held accountable.
Our form of government provides mechanisms to minimize the risk of a tyranny of the majority, therefore there shall not be a tyranny of the minority.
The Catholic church embraces and protects child molestors and is run by a member of the hitler youth...their politics are hideous and offensive to large swaths of people, not just muslims including McCain backers like Hagee.
While the protesters actions may of been inappropriate, they will have their day in court...which is more than they would get if they had been muslim...in which case we would of never seen any of them again.
It looks like at least one of these guys is no stranger to going to jail for a stupid stunt. A 3 month federal prison sentence and a suspension from Georgetown for one Donte Smith after jumping a military base fence in 2005.
http://www.houstonpress.com/2006-02-16/news/crossing-lines/
The rest of them have apparently done nothing noteworthy in their lives up until now. Guess they got the attention they were after.
Rachel Corrie learned a very important piece of information. Do not stand too close in front of a bulldozer because the driver CAN NOT SEE THROUGH THE BLADE. Duh. As for those trying to distance the DNC from this, this is the DNC base right now. Don't like it? Fix it yourselves.
Anonymous asked - "Easter Mass was in a movie theatre type auditorium (look at the pictures of the seating)with no kneelers?"
The Cathedral is closed for repair so Mass is being held in an auditorium.
That makes this whole thing even more annoying to me. I have friends who live near the cathedral and attend Mass there weekly. Knowing that the (relatively small) auditorium would be very crowded for Easter they choose to attend Mass elsewhere.
So... these protest clowns took seats that observant Catholics couldn't get. The more I think about this the more I dislike them.
I think it would be good for folks to re-read the comments in here. I notice that the majority opinion here is that real violence is understandable and wanted, but overt symbolism is an offense to decency.
Maybe this action is not something you would choose to take part in, as others actions are not what these six would have chosen. In this instance the death count is well below my outrage level.
Trey, so you support felony assult during a church meeting. You don't object simply because nobody died? What other felonies will you ignore in the name of your cause? The level of violence in the peace camp is increasing and how far away is murder?
yeah trey. My favorite comment is the one from the woman who is so outraged that her children were "terorized" by a sybolic act of protest that she wanted to smash in the teeth of the kids doing the protest. Real violence and real blood sure wouldn't have terrorized her little brainwashed drones. no sireee.
and brave annonymous: equating a symbolic act is spraying fake blood (the blood of innocents in iraq is on all our hands, in case the message was too subtle for you) with being one step away from real violence nad even murder? The logic circuits on your response bot are obviously blown out.
Bob, so you also support violent attacks. Great. Yes I get the attackers message. It is a childish one. Do you really think people don't know a war is going on? Grow up. If you want to know my name, it is sonofdy. I simply am not registered here. Calling people names however is typical of liberals style of "argument" just like on the huffington post. And yes I do expect increasing violence from the left.
I for one welcome these events. Let's have everyone see these little pigs for what they are. Yes, the kids get traumatized, but they also get to see pseudoterrorists up close and personal and many will eventually reject their beliefs and take up the fight against them.
Of course I don't support violent acts. Work on your reading comprehension. Spraying fake blood on one self and possibly some onlookers during a symbolic protest against the most violent of all acts, invasive war on an innocent country may be called assault (that is up to a court to decide) but it is NOT battery, is NOT violent and nothing equal to the vile comments about kicking out the teeth and even a few about killing the protesters. You righties are advocating brownshirt thug-like actions. why do you hate america and its freedoms?
so now protesting is a pseudo-terrorist act! Which country is this again. I bet you righties would have rather we shut up and stayed a British colony, eh?
I suspect it is the only way these dweebs think they can get laid. I mean those left-wing gals are usually very unattractive in looks and mind and serious insecurities. I mean look at those six.
In my day the left wing chicks were the hottest. The movement has fallen on hard times.
You know when you protest government policy aren't you supposed to do it at or in front of some government office or recruiting station?
Just a thought.
We must have peace even if it means war.
What did my last post mean?
Your choice.
That's awesome! Good for them! I suspect we'll be seeing more of this in the near future.
so now protesting is a pseudo-terrorist act! Which country is this again.
Criminy.
No, protesting is not a pseudo-terrorist act. Disrupting a constitutionally-protected religious service and committing assault is a pseudo-terrorist act.
Bob Dobbs = hypocrit douchebag.
EASTER MASS IS NOT THE PLACE TO STAGE SUCH A STUNT.
Protest in the streets or at a park, make a spectacle of yourself in PUBLIC.
Doing this during a religious gathering of this type serves no purpose other than to make more people aware of your stupid and ignorant views.
Given these assholes sprayed blood (fake or otherwise is not relevant) upon innocent people gathered for a peaceful Easter sermon is ASSAULT under the law.
In THAT context, I would have punched the closest asshole spraying the blood, for the purpose of PROTECTING OTHERS.
SEE THE DIFFERENCE NOW, ASSHAT?
Hell, if these anti-war (READ: just "U.S. wars")morons want to spew "thou shalt not kill" crap, how come thet don't throw some fake blood on a Mosque? The muslims started this war, not Christians.
Bob, it is considered assault. It is violence. The people attacked had nothing to do with the military and did not ask for thier religous day to be disrupted by these thugs. Just because you agree with them does not mean they get a free pass on breaking the law. If you want to see real threats of violence, go onto the "peace" web sites and see it there. I see it all the time here and trust me, so woman promising to defend her kids is tame compared to the "peace" groups threats. So you take your fake outrage and go to hell because nobody is buying it.
Nahanni,
Thanks for the advice on "following the money". I did.
Seems the President who "decided" to start the war has a father on the board of the Carlyle Group, who has made a bundle off the war in Iraq.
Seems the VP, who played political hardball to get support for the war, is the former CEO of Halliburton, who receieved a $6 Billion no-bid contract associated with the war. BTW, A subsidiary of Halliburton did business with Saddam Hussein throughout the 90's (after the first Gulf War).
Also there's Cheney's Energy Task Force, which met with energy company executives (big financiers of the Bush/ Cheney election campaigns) 40 times before the war in Iraq. Did they decide to start an illegal war and divvy up the profits from Iraq's oil fields. Who knows? They won't disclose what was discussed at the meetings. Seems strange, since all good conservatives know "if you did nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide."
As for the war protesters disrupting church services, I think they accomplished their goals. Get the protests some media coverage.
I protested the war back in early 2003. I remember the corporate media down-playing the protests and calling the protesters "out of touch", "hippies", and "tree-huggers".
I like to think of us as other names the media could call us: "prescient" and "absolutely 100% correct".
Don't worry too much about the poor church-goers. While they pat themselves on the back for "valuing life", they remain safe ion their pews as hundreds of thousands of people have been killed and maimed for profits and lies.
Robert in BA
I'm not the hypocrite, brave anonymous. It's the so called "Christians" who's faith has given them so much love and tolerance and that are so terrified of differing opinions that they want to pound, pummel and commit battery on peaceful protest.
The muslims started this war, not Christians.<<<
Idiot. Iraq was a secular country that WE invaded, raped and pillaged for no reason except w. needed something to divert attention from his failure to capture Osama in Afghanistan.
This post has been removed by a blog administrator.
Bob Dobbs,
You're the idiot.
Hussein was a WMD-wielding megalomaniac who cavorted with al Qaeda. He thumbed his nose at every resolution enacted by the U.N. including Res. 1441, which in conjunction with Congressional approval, gave us the authority to use military force. You ought to read it some time. We also found tons of cyclosarin, among other discovered WMDs, and I’m damned glad we took out the sonofabitch before he had the chance to use what he had. Hussein should have been finished off in 1991 when we were there the last time.
Secondly, the al Qaeda will cross borders no matter where we struck back, which is why I would have transformed Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan into asphalt parking lots on 12 September 2001. (for starters) That's how you fight a "jihad". But, I'm a former Soldier, not a politician.
Afghanistan, like Iraq, is just one more battlefield in the war against Islamofascism. We made a mistake by walking away in 1989 after we helped kick out the Soviets.
This war ain't over by a long shot. Al Qaeda and Taliban are funded, aided and supported throughout the Middle East. The Islamofascist vision of a world Caliphate will continue unless we kill them all off. Our policy should be simple: you attack us, we annihilate you, your supporters, your country, everything.
Idiot.
Did they decide to start an illegal war and divvy up the profits from Iraq's oil fields. Who knows?
Actually, we do know. The longtime public position of the American Petroleum Institute prior to the war was that sanctions on Iraq should be lifted, and normal trade with the Hussein regime should resume. A war would only threaten supply lines.
are so terrified of differing opinions that they want to pound, pummel and commit battery on peaceful protest.
Wasn't a peaceful protest, Bob. We've been over this. Doesn't matter how many times you say it was.
hahahaha you're a funny guy sfhero. AlQuaida is only a tiny protion of the insurgency and civil war in Iraq. It's mostly sunni nad shiite religious factions fighting for power to fill in the vacuum we created by ousting and executing Saddam. That al-quaida is even in iraq is becaue we made it possible by offing Saddam and providing targets. And the idea that they want to take over the world is simplistic talk radio fodder for the illiterate. wise up, they only want us the get the hell out of their country -- something I expect you'd (and I, too) feel if the Us was occupied by a foreign power.
I don't need to become a moslem to protest the killing (I'm an atheist, anyway) since I live in a country with the freedom of speech and assembly.
And fuck you right back with your pseudo macho posturing.
sfcmac, the depths of the geo-political zeitgeist ignorance is stunning. You flat out don't know diddly about the situation other than talking points gleaned from mowroons like rush and hannity. Do some real research that doesn't involve turning on your radio and come back and try again.
The Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church has been consistently against the war, so this whole protest was simply misguided. Why didn’t the protesters go to one of those war-mongering Evangelical Churches and protest there? Probably because they were too cowardly to face down genuine American Imperialists!
There is no point in talking to people like bob. They will excuse any crime to advance thier views and call it justified. Trust me, this guy would support murder to aid his allies in Iraq. So there is little point in showing him the error of his ways. He will not accept any information except information that supports his views. Ignore him.
There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that the anti-war movement is an anti-government, anti-religion leftist movement. It has very little to do with the opposing the war and very much to do with radically promoting a secular religion of hate.

where do you get the idea I would support murder? And debating is an exchange of ideas, not "showing someone the error of his ways." All I've seen here is narrow minded vomiting of long discredited right wing talking points about the wmd (that was never found) and al-quaida and Saddam being in bed together justifying our invading a sovereign nation and killing roughly 600,000 of it's inhabitants and displacing 3 times that amount to sooth w's throbbing ego.
Whatever. enjoy your descent into Hell. And enjoy sending your sons and daughters to the endless war that you seem to enjoy so much.
