Obama: "Trinity Is One of the Finest Churches In Chicago"

CRACKPOT JACKPOT---
Barack Obama's church take the crackpottery prize hands down.
...And this appears to have the senator upset.

Barack Obama had this to say about his nutty racist anti-American black liberation church, via Ben Smith at The Politico:

Understand this, something else that has not been reported on enough is despite these very offensive views, this guy has built one of the finest churches in Chicago. This is not a crackpot church. Witness the fact that Bill Clinton invited him to the White House when he was having his personal crises. This is a pillar of the community and if you go there on Easter on this Easter Sunday and you sat down there in the pew you would think this is just like any other church.
If you would have gone to his church this Easter on this Easter Sunday and you sat down there in the pew you would have found out that Rev. Jeremiah Wright was lynched and crucified just like Jesus Christ.

Jules Crittenden examines the crackpottery charges.

MORE CRACKPOTTERY... Obama does not like to be labeled liberal-- even though his own voting record earned him this title.

UPDATE: Robert Novak claims that Obama is damaged goods due to the Jeremiah Wright controversy.

This has nothing to do with your current posting, but I was wondering (based on reading the comments from your March 17 posting)--is there a way for you to require people sign in to comment. The poster "Anonymous" was more than a bit rude, so I was wondering if there was a way to make people "own" their rudeness by requiring some sort of name to go with the comments. Just wondering....

I agree with the comment above, if people have an opinion or have something to say then own up to those words, by not leaving your name will have people believe that what you say is not of importance.

Thanks Sordid Business- If you find an offensive comment or offensive language I would appreciate it if you let me know about it. My email address is in the sidebar. I am allowing anonymous posting at this time. I may change my mind in the future.

I would ask for continued ability to post "anonymously."

There is a problem with requiring registration: then a commenter has to remember a name and password. And there is a utility in having a little bit of anonymity: it is a protection against the not-too-smart members of the local community. I am mildly politically active at the local level, and I have the key scratches on the door of my vehicle to prove it.

Even if I were to leave my name off this comment, I also know that my computer is readily identifiable to people with a certain level of knowledge.

Finally, if my comments ever prove offensive or just maladroit, they can and should be deleted.

The only reason he is saying this is because his first defense was not working. He made his speach and had to follow it up with half a dozen interviews talking about the same stuff.
