Oops... NY Governor Billed Hotel Trysts As "Constituent Services"
Yesterday, Gov. Paterson denied using campaign money to pay for his trysts...
Guess not.
Governor Paterson has been in office two days now.
NY Governor Paterson may have used campaign funds for his hookups.
This was Paterson's first week in his new job.
Last week the previous Democratic Governor stepped down after being caught in a prostitution ring.
The New York Daily News reported:
Gov. Paterson admitted Wednesday he may have improperly billed his campaign for at least one hotel tryst with a girlfriend.Your campaign dollars at work.
The hotel tryst was apparently listed as "constituent services."
A Daily News review found that in a handful of other campaign expenditures, Paterson may have used campaign funds to cover personal expenses and misstated their purpose in public disclosure forms.
The records also show he made reimbursements, but he acknowledged he may have failed to pony up in one instance.
LawHawk has the latest bad news for Paterson--
A mysterious woman was paid $1,000 for mysterious reasons during the campaign.
And... In addition to hotel stays, Paterson's campaign account spent thousands of dollars on meals and flowers.

I suspected this right off the bat - and you linked to me.
I suspected it because when Paterson deliberately leaked the story himself he said that he had trysts at the same hotel used by some of his aides for constituent services.
I felt that this was intended to cover up the fact that HE listed these trips as constituent serves.
ALAS, HE DID.
Sorry to say this, but" HE MUST RESIGN.
What is it with these Democratic governors? Spitzer resigns because he has trouble with his zipper, now his replacement is covering the costs of his cheating habits out of campaign donations, the governor of Illinois seems to be neck deep with a Syrian crook named Tony Rezko.
Now what happens? Do the citizens of New York forgive and forget because they are now so used to scandal that it doesn't matter? Will Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have a meeting forgiving this new clown in the name of all New Yorkers as Jackson met with the Cigar Man?
And if Paterson resigns, doesn't that give New York a Republican governor?
Yeah, that would be sweet.

Yes indeed, should Paterson be forced from office, the next Governor of the Empire State would be none other than current Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno (R-Rensselaer), who is also under investigation for shady business dealings.
Albany has managed to find a way to rid itself of corrupt politicos - make 'em governor.
As a former NYer if any body reading this thinks Paterson is going anywhere is deluded. He could be found in bed with the proverbial 12 year old boy AND a dead girl and still not be impeached at this point.
Forgetting about any racial implications (afterall we are in Obama's post-racial world), to remove him would place Joe Bruno, the Republican leader of the Senate, into the Governor's office. With the Assembly controlled by the Dems almost 2-1, pigs will fly first. A shame that the first black Governor of NY is pretty much a crook.
Oh, I'm going to Hell in a Greyhound bus for taking the cheap punchline, but...
I doubt he saw anything wrong with it.
