Tracking Iraq-- What the Media Did Not Tell You This Month

Truly- The Surge Is Historic in Its Success--
The mainstream media has absolutely refused to report on the excellent news coming out of Iraq so Dean's World reported the great news today.
Here are a few charts to go with his excellent report on Iraq:

The last 4 months have seen the lowest US fatalities recorded over any 4-month period since the war began:

The last 4 months have also seen the lowest number of Iraqi civilian fatalities recorded over any 4-month period since the war began:

Iraq continues to sacrifice. The young democracy has lost more military and policemen each month than the US or its allies. However, Iraq is currently losing fewer soldiers now than any 4 month period since 2004:

There were three times as many multiple fatality bombings last year at this time:

And, the cost of this war-- something the Democrats are focusing on now that Iraq is stabilizing-- is lower than Vietnam or the Cold War:

I've been keeping a table tracking half-year US hostile-fire fatalities for the past few months, counting both from Calender 2003 and Onset 2003 (March). I've damaged the table and am doing repairs, but the take-away is that by either standard the last half of 2007, or 2007-8 for Onset numbers, were the lowest since the war began. The "greatest number" trope results from the 1st half of the year, when the Surge was ramping up and the insurgency was pushing for Final Victory.
So the contrast is maximal: highest half year followed by lowest.

All of this progress will be undone if "a progressive" is elected POTUS.

It is now just a case of finishing the job. This war can only be lost at home. And those who gave up on Iraq shortly after the war for which they voted began haven't yet given up on defeat. Nothing matters to them as much as power and money.

Go McCain

Let's remember, Hillary Clinton takes credit for the progress in Iraq now - yah, nothing to do with the American troops, General Petraeus, and the Iraqi forces and alliances - nope, all to the credit of Hillbilly.

How awful they are, to push such slanted garbage.

The fatality rate for US Soldiers in Iraq is now lower than the fatality rate for US soldiers serving here at home. If anti-war types are truly concerned about our troops, they should be calling for all of them to be deployed in Iraq. They will be safer there.
