In Canada the record snow and cold is causing armed clashes!
A record snowfall in eastern Canada this winter has inspired some, crushed others, led to a rash of snow-blower thefts and incited at least two armed clashes, authorities said Wednesday.
Scientists are calling the disorder "snow rage."

In fact, the BBC even admitted today that global temperatures have not risen since 1998:
Global temperatures will drop slightly this year as a result of the cooling effect of the La Nina current in the Pacific, UN meteorologists have said.It's been a very difficult year inside the global warming cult. Not only was there record snow and cold across the globe, but one of the prestigious global warming religionists is being accused of fraud.
The World Meteorological Organization's secretary-general, Michel Jarraud, told the BBC it was likely that La Nina would continue into the summer.
This would mean global temperatures have not risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory.
But experts say we are still clearly in a long-term warming trend - and they forecast a new record high temperature within five years.

OK, can we FINALLY stop this global warming hysteria and get Algore to STFU once and for all? Thank you.

You see, in all of history, the climate never changed before. And now it is. So that is bad
(And as an aside, I am even one who thinks that humnan activities DO cause a rise in temperatures -- I just am sick of the hysteria)

So does that mean Al Gore is not just putting on weight, but being fattened up by his supporters for the eventual buffet? Brrr, indeed.
I for one, have respect for our former VP's honest effort in carbon sequestration, and his personal sacrifice in carrying it around with him. Saving the world, one donut at a time, is something I can get behind too :)
As a one time financial auditor (and now an "auditee") the pattern of "problems" (hockey stick, UHI impact, Y2K issue)with key studies in global warming are, should we say, problematic.
As the author states the issues raised don't mean that the conclusions reached are wrong but that further study should be made. But, in my experience when the underlying work is wrong (or fraudulent) the end result and conclusion is rarely correct.
Maybe it is just the accountant in me but it seems that there really needs to be some standards applied to GW research - openness of data and code would be a good start. Rationalization of results with prior accepted research BEFORE PUBLICATION would be another. Review committee that actually addresses issues (i.e. not the IPCC) would be another good step.
Fortunately these issues are being discovered and publicized (at least on the internet) - word will get out. I suppose then we can move onto the next crisis (sigh!).

I have a solution for all those who believe we are doomed unless we Americans, living in the richest country on the planet, do something to reduce man-made global warming right now. OK, aside from converting to energy efficient light bulbs, trading in the gas-guzzling SUV for a Prius, using public transportation more often, insulating one's home, becoming a vegetarian, and living a simpler "green" life, here is something bigger than all those puny suggestions: Stop having children! Think of what it means... all that "hazardous" carbon dioxide that won't be exhaled because there will be less people; and all those hamburgers that won't be eaten (children love hamburgers), reducing the methane gas expelled into the atmosphere by unnecessary cows. Consider the value to the earth of the approximately 40 million abortions since 1973 - 40 million lives not contributing to this crisis - a number that must be taken into account when considering the shameful four million births per year (approx.) in the U.S. Also, since Saint Al Gore said on March 30, in response to a question about climate skeptics: "I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view. They’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the earth is flat. That demeans them a little bit, but it’s not that far off," the true believers must be the vast, vast majority, i.e. the opposite of "tiny, tiny minority," therefore... the truly committed vast, vast majority will contribute greatly by eliminating a large portion of these four million births per annum. Unfortunately, all births cannot be stopped because there are still some stupid people who simply don't care - conspiracy theorists, flat earthers, and Mormons - and, of course, there will be some accidents. Perhaps, they will stay hidden from sight once they realize the harm they have done as a result of their selfishness.

The goal of these UN crowds and global warming crowds is to impose a world wide carbon tax so that they can have a hold and use of our money without our say in it. Before Annan left office, he tried his damnest to push thru foreign exchange taxes to combat world poverty (principally of their pockets). Look at the link on the Fraud charges against Wang. We already know that the Chinese "Red Army, Inc" has plants everywhere doing industrial espionage. I know it.. I've met one for sure and I believe more than one. {and the FBI knows of them}.
Let's ask ourselves who benefits the most if the west cuts way back on the use of fossil fuels. For one, and mainly, the one country that has no intent on following Kyoto or any of its successor. How do we know that? Because they have the werewithal to buil new-style nuclear plants, yet they continue to build new coal plants.
And they are a VAST importer of oil. If the market for oil goes down, they benefit. If we develop non-bio sources of energy, they benefit. If we shut down our own groos polluting factories, they benefit.
Generally I hate conspiracists, but considering the huge flow of campaign finance funds to certain people in the US, do we REALLY think there's just an ideological tie?

If you look at the 10-year trend (1998-2008) Global Warming has flat-lined. This winter the global average temperature (which is statistically similar to the global average cellphone number) fell .6C, which is roughly equivalent to the entire increase in the 20th century.
