Hollywood Legend Charlton Heston Dies-- Nutroots React

Film legend Charlton Heston passed away Saturday at his Beverly Hills home.

Who could forget this?
Power Line describes the planning and execution of the chariot race scene for Ben Hur.
Charlton Heston was a brilliant actor. His death is a great loss for the film industry.
The LA Times reported:

John Charles Carter was born Oct. 4, 1923, in Evanston, Ill. His father, Russell Whitford Carter, moved the family to St. Helen, Mich., where Heston lived an almost idyllic boyhood, hunting and fishing.

He entered Northwestern University's School of Speech in 1941 on a scholarship from the drama club. While there, he fell in love with a young speech student named Lydia Clarke. They were married March 14, 1944, after he had enlisted in the Army Air Forces. Their union was one of the most durable in Hollywood, lasting 64 years in a town known for its highly publicized divorces, romances and remarriages.
Rest in peace, Charlton Heston.

Slapstick noticed the depraved reaction on the Left to the news that conservative icon Heston has died.
Here's one from Kos:

Here's another comment from the Democratic Underground:
"The wicked warlock of the NRA is dead!!"
And, of course, the Huffington Post does not upset:

Dead and that is a relief. I can't think of anything he did that advanced the good of the world.
Protein Wisdom notes the AP's bias against Heston in their obit.

The always classy Kossacks and PuffHo's are beating each other up to see who gets to piss on his grave first.

Disgusting. Not surprising but disgusting just the same.

One of the best actors, Evah.

Could not believe the news this morning. He championed Civil Rights, but then 'went on to become a conservative.'

Morons! He WAS a conservative when he championed Civil Rights.

I hadn`t heard until now that Charlton passed on. Films like Ben Hur and actors like Kirk Douglas, John Wayne, Robert Mitchum etc gave meaning to what Hollywood was all about " Good actors"

may he rest in peace..

regardless of political labels, i wasn't exactly a fan of the man off screen.. but he was a great actor!!

as for the KoKoPuffs et al.. if only they would spend half of their depraved hatred on offering solutions contributing to the love & peace they ever so ironically profess to be the masters of, perhaps someone would half listen..

Some people age more gracefully than others.

Whatever Hestor's personality off screen, he stood for so much on and off that use to represent this country. I happened to like his gruff character off screen. May not agreed with everything he said, but enjoyed it when he told punks off. I imagine he grew tired of the social wreckage of Hollywood as he grew older.

At least when men like him acted parts on film that stood for liberty, freedom, justice, good triumphing over evil, you knew the next day he wouldn't trash and bash America that gave him the opportunity to be a star.

He knew America stood for good. His fellow actors, many gone before him, fought in WWII and they not only lived out service and sacrifice, but were not whiney, two-faced, spoiled brats who turned on their country at first opportunity. Bop Hope, Jimmy Stewart, etc., continued to give thru USO and other services to the armed forces.

The audience knew, when many of these men played situations involving war, life and death struggles and read lines that called for deeper philosophical issues that they had been thru real life scenarios often that mirrored their parts.

Today, starry eyed metro-sexuals and models, or weirdness is in. Few today are made from the same character as so many that went thru WWII.

People like Jimmy Stewart went to Church and Sunday school. They lifted people up when the film industry actually cared about our nation. Today, movie after movie comes out with the same twisted cultural garbage that either spits on America, the land that makes them millionaires, or sends wrong messages to our children.

Great man.

Painful loss.

No real shock at the SOBs.

Found his speech on youtube, the idiots had already started spitting on it.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Charleton Heston two times in my life. One was at the annual NRA Convention, and the other was at the dedication of a mural. I had my photo made with Mr. Heston at this event, and this was one of the high points in my life and a great honor as well.

After the signing at the mural, Mr. Heston ordered the video cameras turned off, and proceeded to give a performance in that voice of Moses in the Ten Commandments. What a show that was.

He is one of the few actors in Hollywood I will truly miss, and Ben Hur is truly one of the great movies of all time, although Will Penny is not to be dismissed.

Godspeed, Chuck. There is a celebration in Heaven, sadness on Earth, but I rejoice in knowing I will see you again. I look forward to that day.
