Michelle Obama's Drab Views of America-- A (Partial) List

Here is the Democratic frontrunner's wife giving hope a comeback:

** For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country.
** (Again) For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country.
** Life is not good.
** We’re a divided country.
** We’re a country that is “just downright mean."
** We are “guided by fear."
** We’re a nation of cynics, sloths, and complacents.
** We have become a nation of struggling folks who are barely making it every day.
** Americans don't want much.
** Someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.
** You're alone in your failure.
** Folks are just jammed up, and it’s gotten worse over my lifetime.
** It's easier to hold on to your own stereotypes and misconceptions, it makes you feel justified in your own ignorance...That's AMERICA"

Yep. That's America!
...The Obama's America.

Methinks its time for Ms. Michelle to take a good long look at her own prejudices... defeatist, self-hating, anti-American.

And as to this comment, "Someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more", when is Ms. Michelle going to give up a piece of HER pie to my unemployed, 50 year old, white male husband? I think a rich woman who makes $300k a year could spare some change for him.

Total socialist point of view, right there, but I can bet you, she has no intention of giving up any of her pie.

One thing is clear though, money doesn't bring happiness and with all the Obama's money, Michelle is still as miserable as all get out.

That is a great list. I'd hope that it would be read to Barack at some point. Let him be forced to defend or deny his wife's socialist simplicity.

Her life pretty much covers the rise of this neo-liberalism starting in the sixties. Perhaps there is a correlation ?

Of course. The nomenklatura never do.

I know why she feels that way.

Her job is to keep poor blacks out of the University of Chicago Hospital.

She gets paid good money ($300K a year) to create the America she doesn't like.

It is not like the UC Hospital is hurting for money.

OTOH if they used some of that money to create a local clinic to ease pressure on the emergency room she might not be so bad or feel bad about herself.

Anybody been to 63rd and Cottage?

Well the south side of Chicago
Is the baddest part of town
And if you go down there
You better just beware
Of a man named Leroy Brown

For $300K a year the UC was able to avoid building a million dollar clinic and keeping it staffed.

Self hating indeed.

I don't understand what makes Americans so hostile to any self-reflection of the problems facing this country and its citizens.

Do you people really have blinders on and believe this is some kind of utopia? If so, please share whatever it is you're smoking.

This country is beset by problems and no one wants to see the flaws and try to fix them. Instead, we prefer to fiddle while Rome burns.

What is wrong with addressing the problems in America?

You people on here always point out the problems in other countries and cultures and are very good at acting all high and mighty about solving other people's problems.

But not one of you will admit the problems and flaws in this country.

You're just pissed that someone question the notion that this country is some of kind of paradise. Get the f*** over yourselves and this country. Grow up and face the problems like real men and women. Otherwise, this country will continue to regress until it is completely irrelevant to the rest of the world.

We are well on our way to becoming a pathetic shell of a decent country.

Paradise? You can see how far this country has fallen by the constant use of f*** by the vocabulary-challenged folks who've gone through 12 years of "progressive" education.

Michelle's 1985 Princeton thesis won't keep you from punching a hole through the wall or make you sleep an extra hour, but it shows the genesis of what we're hearing 23 years later.

The thesis is posted here:

Michelle's 1985 Princeton thesis.
The URL is too long for this post.
I will split it in half:

Michelle's Thesis

Here is how you make permalinks:

text to display

replace url with:
http://powerandcontrol.blogspot.com/
leave the quote marks

replace text to display
with:
Power and Control

Power and Control

If you keep a cheat sheet (text file) up of your most commonly used forms (probably around 10 to 20) it is really easy.

Yes we are, thanks to the likes of the Obama's and people like you.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by, "fiddle. Now you can scamper back to the fever swamps that are the native habitat of the Moonbat.

As Glenn Beck said on his radio program this morning "Why does someone have to give up a piece of their pie? Why don't we think of America as a big bakery where everyone can make their own pie?" I don't want anyone else's pie (including the Obamas). I just want to be able to make my own pie, or cake, or cookies...whatever.
