Al-Qaeda could not stand watching another minute of Hezbollah tormenting their Sunni captives on Al-Manar television. (BOL)
Beirut Spring just warned about this.
Al Qaeda has declared war on Hezbollah!
W-Zip and Iran Press TV reported this news:
Al-Qaeda has reportedly called on its operatives to go to Lebanon and defend what it called the Sunni community of the country.Former President Amine Gemayel said that Al-Qaeda is swarming into Lebanon.
The report came while some Arab media outlets described the current clashes in Lebanon as a fight between Sunni and Shia communities.
In an interviews with Sunni clerics with links to Saad Hariri's pro-government bloc, Al-Arabiya TV network described the ongoing clashes as a sectarian strife.
Sheikh Ali al-Jozo, Mufti of the Jebel region, who is well known for his harsh stance against Hezbollah told the TV network that the clashes are a battle between Lebanon's Shia and Sunni communities and called on Arab leaders to prevent "Iran's influence in the country."
The TV network reported that al-Qaeda on all of its websites urged its operatives to defend the Sunni community of Lebanon.
Iran Press TV again reported:
Former Lebanese president Amine Gemayel says al-Qaeda forces have entered the country, making Lebanon vulnerable to 'any possibility'.The Daily Star of Lebanon also reported that, "Gemayel disclosed information about the presence of Al-Qaeda operatives in some of the country's Palestinian refugee camps."
Gemayel told ANB on Friday that new intelligence has indicated that members of al-Qaeda have entered Lebanon, taking refuge at Ein al-Halveh refugee camp.
"Al-Qaeda has always threatened Lebanon. I hope the Hezbollah leaders are aware of the consequences for the current unrest in the country," the former president added.
Ok, who's left? Has Al-Qaeda declared war against the entire family of man, yet?

Calling Jimmy Carter! HELLOOOO??
ReplyDeleteA rift in the ranks of Obama supporters?
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Bear. They have UN troops there. Or are they so busy watching what Israel was doing, they forgot to keep an eye on Hezbollah?
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing we can expect president designate Obama to invade Lebanon since Al Qaeda is there.
ReplyDeletePass the popcorn. Is this on pay per view?
ReplyDeleteSo, I wonder who the Lebanese Shi'ites (Hizbollah) hate the most....
ReplyDeleteLebanese Sunni's, Lebanese Christian's, or both equally?

BG: Iran and the Taliban/Al Qaeda are enemies. Iran helped the US in Afghanastan right up until we stabbed them in the back again.
ReplyDeleteDon't know where you got that information. If you listen to US military news they will have you believe Iran is Germany circa 1940. Al Qaeada and the Taliban are Sunni group's. Iran is Shi'ite.
Beto Ocha: You must have meant Clinton would invade Lebanon. I'm sure that was just a typo. Otherwise that would be a pretty ignorant comment like Hillary wanting to obliterate Iran.
Maybe you are a Hillary supporter.
Siniora agrees to opposition demand
ReplyDeleteSun, 11 May 2008 12:56:00
Lebanese Premier Fuad Siniora's government has decided to back the army commander Michel Suleiman's recent proposal to end the crisis.
During a cabinet meeting Monday, Fuad Siniora and his ministers decided to support Suleiman's proposal for reestablishing security and ending the current crisis in the country, PRESS TV quoted Al-Hayat daily as writing.
A source close to the Lebanese government said that the government is ready to provide the necessary conditions for the implementation of Suleiman's blueprint, which means opposition forces have succeeded in winning concessions from Siniora's government.
On Saturday, the Lebanese Army Commander, General Michel Suleiman, rescinded two anti-opposition decisions made by the government, which were the initial cause for the escalation of tensions in Lebanon.
Michel Suleiman reinstated General Wafiq Shuqair at the Beirut International Airport and also lifted a government-ordered ban on Hezbollah's telecommunications network.
The informed source added that the Lebanese government is going to revoke the moves which had triggered the opposition forces' angry response.
On Saturday, Lawmaker Ali Hassan Khalil of Hezbollah's ally, the Amal Movement, said the opposition would hand over Beirut to the army but maintain a civil disobedience campaign against the government until the government rescinds its two anti-opposition decisions officially.
Subsequently, the army commander, Michel Suleiman, also called on the government to officially rescind the two decisions, which was complied with during today's cabinet meeting.
