BUSH BLASTS APPEASERS!! ...Obama Campaign Whines... MORE- Pelosi Reacts

Yid With Lid has the whole speech posted.
President Bush delivered one of his historic speeches today to the Knesset in Jerusalem.
During the speech Bush took obvious offense to the Democratic plan of appeasing terrorists and withdrawing US troops from Iraq to Okinawa or some other distant "safe" place.

The AP posted the video on YouTube:

Carl in Jerusalem has more of the video.

From the White House website:

We believe that free people should strive and sacrifice for peace. So we applaud the courageous choices Israeli's leaders have made. We also believe that nations have a right to defend themselves and that no nation should ever be forced to negotiate with killers pledged to its destruction. (Applause.)

We believe that targeting innocent lives to achieve political objectives is always and everywhere wrong. So we stand together against terror and extremism, and we will never let down our guard or lose our resolve. (Applause.)

The fight against terror and extremism is the defining challenge of our time. It is more than a clash of arms. It is a clash of visions, a great ideological struggle. On the one side are those who defend the ideals of justice and dignity with the power of reason and truth. On the other side are those who pursue a narrow vision of cruelty and control by committing murder, inciting fear, and spreading lies.

This struggle is waged with the technology of the 21st century, but at its core it is an ancient battle between good and evil. The killers claim the mantle of Islam, but they are not religious men. No one who prays to the God of Abraham could strap a suicide vest to an innocent child, or blow up guiltless guests at a Passover Seder, or fly planes into office buildings filled with unsuspecting workers. In truth, the men who carry out these savage acts serve no higher goal than their own desire for power. They accept no God before themselves. And they reserve a special hatred for the most ardent defenders of liberty, including Americans and Israelis.

And that is why the founding charter of Hamas calls for the "elimination" of Israel. And that is why the followers of Hezbollah chant "Death to Israel, Death to America!" That is why Osama bin Laden teaches that "the killing of Jews and Americans is one of the biggest duties." And that is why the President of Iran dreams of returning the Middle East to the Middle Ages and calls for Israel to be wiped off the map.

There are good and decent people who cannot fathom the darkness in these men and try to explain away their words. It's natural, but it is deadly wrong. As witnesses to evil in the past, we carry a solemn responsibility to take these words seriously. Jews and Americans have seen the consequences of disregarding the words of leaders who espouse hatred. And that is a mistake the world must not repeat in the 21st century.

Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: "Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided." We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history. (Applause.)

Some people suggest if the United States would just break ties with Israel, all our problems in the Middle East would go away. This is a tired argument that buys into the propaganda of the enemies of peace, and America utterly rejects it. Israel's population may be just over 7 million. But when you confront terror and evil, you are 307 million strong, because the United States of America stands with you. (Applause.)
The Israeli people will no doubt miss President George W. Bush.

UPDATE: Surprise! Obama cries foul-- Says Bush is just playing on the "politics of fear."
AP News reported:

"It is sad that President Bush would use a speech to the Knesset on the 6Oth anniversary of Israel's independence to launch a false political attack," Obama said in the statement. "George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the president's extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel."
It's always the politics of fear with Obama.
It's his way of hoping to end the conversation.

According to the Huffington Post, Obama doesn't need the Jewish vote anyway.
It's a good thing.

Hmm... Isn't it interesting that the Obama camp knew immediately that Bush was talking about them?

More... It looks like team Obama got caught trying to change history again.

UPDATE 2: Speaker Pelosi says this was beneath the dignity of the office(?):

The White House insists that Bush was "referring to a wide range of people, not any single person." But Obama's campaign says it appeared to be a swipe at him, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that Bush's remarks were "beneath the dignity of the office of the president and unworthy of our representation" at the celebration of Israel's 60th anniversary.
Apparently, the Democrats believe that attacking appeasers is out of bounds.

Here's a nice reminder of unworthy representation...

Hat tip to the Power Line Forum

Democrats would do better to cut the chatter...
The more they squawk- The more Bush looks right.

UPDATE 3: More Leftist appeasement outrage.
Don't tread on retreat!

UPDATE 4: Great line-- "Perhaps we'd all find Barack's stance against meeting with terrorists a lot more sincere if he wasn't friends with several, kicking off his political career at their house."

UPDATE 5: Oh brother, Joe Biden jumps in- "Bush's comments were 'bullsh*t'"

Oh the irony, Bush the greatest appeaser ever bar none, presently in Israel and won't even go to the Temple Mount for Israel's 60th, chooses instead Masada the picturesque site of Jewish suicide.

He will soon discover that tactic will start to backfire on him. This isn't the Senate, Barak, you are going to have to do more then just be "present".

His supporters screeching "racism" every time they do not get their way has already gotten very old with the public and it is creating a backlash. Especially seeing as it is the black population that is voting based on the skin color of the candidates.

Speaking of "identity politics" it appears that the unions and activist groups are starting to rip themselves apart over the nomination.

God I hate providing a link to PuffHo but sometimes one has to dive into the sewer to find out which way the shite is being flung.

Union Leaders' Clash Over Dem Endorsements A Sign Of Racial Polarization

Some black leaders within the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) are complaining that under Gerald McEntee, Hillary Clinton's strongest and most outspoken backer in the labor movement, union money is being spent to build white turnout for the New York Senator in what has become a racially polarized competition for the Democratic presidential nomination, according to a number of sources.

The conflict is emblematic of the intensifying hostility within Democratic ranks as the nomination fight slowly moves towards closure. The fact that the two leading candidates are a black and a woman has produced internal and external disputes involving civil rights, women's rights and a variety of other groups and leaders in the liberal wing of the party.

    NARAL Affiliates Question Obama Endorsement

NARAL Pro-Choice America affiliates in key swing and primary states are openly distancing themselves from the decision by NARAL Pro-Choice America to endorse Illinois Sen. Barack Obama over Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to be the Democratic nominee for president.

Since yesterday's announcement, NARAL groups in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Oregon, Washington, Texas and New York - Clinton's home state - have issued statements signaling their continued neutrality in the Democratic race and emphasizing that the national group did not speak for them on this matter. These groups represent nearly a quarter of NARAL's state chapters.

Oh, that statement by the Obamaniac over at PuffHo about Obama not needing the "Jewish vote". Statements like that will come back to haunt him, in places he needs to win in like California, New York and Florida. I guess his staff has not shown him the recent polls from California.

Apparently Barack and his minions must think the world revolves around him, and of course given all of the press coverage he has received, all of it fawning all over him, he probably does believe that.
On the other hand he has made so many "gaffes" recently that he has become so paranoid that he thinks everything that could be contrued as criticism is directed towards him. Either way, he either comes off as a narcissistic being who has a much higher opinion of himself then others have or he has such low self esteem and a fragile psyche that he immediately feels the need to go on the defensive.
Either way he ain't somebody I want trying to address the issues that face America in the 21st century.

  6. Its just amazing that Obama would seek the way of appeasement, Obama is a serious problem for the US and worldwide he will be perceived as being a soft politician, terrorists will love him but they will just make his life miserable as they continue their evil scorch-earth agenda. We need leaders in the mold of Reagan who kept the bad guys worried at night, and how he would respond. Obama is an ice cream puff sympathizer who will weaken this country. He is in for a rude wakening when the world's worst turns on him too.

Bush says nuclear Iran would be 'unforgivable'

    excerpts:

["Permitting the world's leading sponsor of terror to possess the world's deadliest weapon would be an unforgivable betrayal of future generations," Bush said in remarks prepared for delivery to the Israeli parliament.

"America stands with you in breaking up terrorist networks and denying the extremists sanctuary. And America stands with you in firmly opposing Iran's nuclear weapons ambitions," he said.]

["The fight against terror and extremism is the defining challenge of our time. It is more than a clash of arms. It is a clash of visions, a great ideological struggle," he was to tell MPs.

"And that is why the president of Iran dreams of returning the Middle East to the Middle Ages and calls for Israel to be wiped off the map."]

["Hezbollah, the so-called protector of the Lebanese against Israel has now turned on its own people," Bush said.

"Hezbollah is supported by Iran, and it's an Iranian effort to destabilise Lebanon's democracy, and the United States stands strongly with the Siniora government," he added.]

["And Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah and (Palestinian Islamist group) Hamas will be defeated, as Muslims across the region recognise the emptiness of the terrorists' vision and the injustice of their cause," he said.]

all of whom endorse Obama, and all of whom stand to benefit the most via an Obama presidency.. :(

we have a globally assured mutual destruction deterrence policy.. that will reverse itself with a "kumbaya" Obama presidency.. all things being equal to the socialist mind set, even if the all is evil..

oh he's been here all the time.. it's the MSM et al who have censored him (they also don't cover all the speeches he's made throughout the country @ military bases, etc), not to mention having consistently spun every word he's ever uttered "out of context" to fit their agenda when they do afford him coverage.. i listen to conservative talk radio (& his weekly radio address, aside from digging through the net for truth), that's about the only source his voice can be heard..

    Greenfairie,

I don't listen to talk radio. I started reading his speeches online, (you can find them at Whitehouse.gov) and discovered how hard he worked to calm this country down and ensure just treatment for our in-country Muslim neighbors right after the attacks of September 11. He never got much credit for this. Because he made the same points over and over, the press just did not report them.

That's why I take particular umbrage with Zbigniew Brzezinski's lying accusation that he had been making Islamophobic speeches.

    BG,

I agree with you about the MSM attacks, deliberate abuse and lack of coverage for Bush.

But I have not been happy for sometime now with our President's inability to use the bully pulpit given him during direct times of confrontation with the media that is open and covered. He has been far to nice at times and reluctant to point out the truth, or defend himself with broader commentary. His commentary is often to mild, to repetitive and well known.

I believe he needs to step out and mention during the press conferences when asked stupid questions what our soldiers have done as caring, loving people to oppressed masses in Iraq by terrorist. And yes, brave warriors to the terrorist when they attack or kill innocents.

FDR and Churchill informed their people personally with maps about how WWII was working, how our troops were winning or when their were setbacks. It was important to the nation. It is more important today considering how far back Obama could set this nation.

He got stung by bad strategy and advice in Iraq. But the new strategy is paying off huge with victories all over Iraq. The Iraqi people are overwhelmingly supporting Coalition forces and Iraqi government now.

I hope he will get much more agressive in the future. He needs to address media accusations from the far left. He does not even need to address them by name, just their lies and false reporting about our troops.

    If I were him...

Immediately after OlberNazi on GE's MSNBC spoke his evil propaganda against our country, our soldiers and Bush. I would've called a conference and ridiculed in public such moonbat lies. Called our soldiers heroes, spoke of their brave sacrifice and that of their families. Then I would've rattled off all the Iraqis saved by our troops, the hospitals, medicine, water, food, etc., that our soldiers provide to a new, Free Iraqi nation. Then I would've called on the nation to stand up! And help! I'd be more forceful in my appeal to the American public.

The Whitehouse has been terrible in not responding to radical opinions like that GE's OlberNazi. GE needs to fire him. Or maybe all of their sponsors need to be known to America that they support a traitor from within.

I'm tired of playing games with these idiots. I will not buy anymore GE products.

I think Bush needs to take off the gloves more often. This was a different Bush with more attitude and aggresive speech, more determined this time. He's done this in the past. But then he retreats at times in speech and answers as if on the defensive. He needs to be on the offensive at home as much as in Iraq.

He is being attacked daily and the sheeple follow the blind moonbats hired by GE on NBC and MSNBC.

Bush's staff need to get more aggresive and attack back forcfully at such idiocy. They need to go out and provide weekly progress. The Whitehouse spokesman should've been on this mornings show with Joe Schmoe of MSNBC to counter the garbage spewed forth by OlberNazi and called him out.

Lies repeated often enough by propaganda mouthpieces like OlberNazi begin to be believed by many. He demoralizes our nation and our soldiers. Whitehouse Staff should've gone on show and attacked vociferously the idiocy of GE's D-olberman dog.

The media needs to be called into account as being baised, corrupt and one-sided when they behave this way. They are as much fair game as any today in political machinations, lies, error, disinformation, greed.

This has been the one area of weakness in his Presidency, is the fight on the domestic front against the enemy within. Tony Snow brought some power, truth and sanity against the Media hacks, but is now gone.

Hang on a minute, isn't the United States involved in the talks with North Korea trying to get them to give up the nukes? Is North Korea one of the "terrorists and radicals" that Bush is referring to, or is he only talking about the Democrats here? The Bush administration has talked to all sorts of "terrorists and radicals". What hypocrisy.

The terrorist monkey can not be negotiated with. The only reason to maybe talk to Ahmadamadmonkey in say maybe Switzerland is to provoke him by debating his ideology and criticizing the hatred. Force him to say lots of stupid and insane things which would be widely publicized thus educating more people to his ideology's insanity. This, I am quite sure, Obama would never do.

Ouch, Obama and the poor little Dems were hit a little too close to home by what GW said. It's one of the best things Bush has ever said. Bravo! And he didn't even have to mention the Dhimmicrats or any body's name.

So sure, then he folded in Saudi Arabia, but what he said in Israel almost makes that OK.
