BUSTED!... Obama Can't Rewrite History When It's Still Posted On His Website!

Charles Johnson caught this attempt by the Obama Campaign and The New York Times to rewrite history today:

Susan E. Rice, a former State Department and National Security Council official who is a foreign policy adviser to the Democratic candidate, said that “for political purposes, Senator Obama’s opponents on the right have distorted and reframed” his views. Mr. McCain and his surrogates have repeatedly stated that Mr. Obama would be willing to meet “unconditionally” with Mr. Ahmadinejad. But Dr. Rice said that this was not the case for Iran or any other so-called “rogue” state. Mr. Obama believes “that engagement at the presidential level, at the appropriate time and with the appropriate preparation, can be used to leverage the change we need,” Dr. Rice said. “But nobody said he would initiate contacts at the presidential level; that requires due preparation and advance work.”
Charles points out that Obama did announce he would meet with Iran unconditionally, in front of a lot of people, at the CNN/YouTube Democratic debate last July.
And, Charles even found the video .

During the debate when asked if he would "be willing to meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea?" Obama answers, "I would."

AllahPundit at HotAir also found that Obama reaffirmed his position later in an interview with The New York Times itself.

And, then there's this...
It's posted on his website at BarackObama.com:

Here is what the Obama website says about meeting with Iran:

Diplomacy: Obama is the only major candidate who supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions.
That's bad.
The next time the New York Times wants to rewrite history they may want to check the Obama website first.

How long before the website is cleansed of the offending comment?

By tomorrow it will be gone.

while i believe Obama believes we haven't got a clue.. and "unconditionally" is definitely the wrong approach (as proved time & again via Savior Jimmah).. there is another aspect to all of this that has virtually gone unnoticed..

    excerpt:

[Based on the historical record, the advocates of U.S. engagement with these regimes are delusional. The record, from Carter to Bush II, strongly suggests that neither regime has any interest in cooperating with us in Iraq, and are more likely than not to view the Carter-Brzezinski-Hagel approach as a demonstration of American weakness.]

[Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic fundamentalism, having given arms and advice to future terrorists?

    excerpt:

[In addition to his affiliations with the Council on Foreign Relations (as director), the Trilateral Commission, and the National Endowment for Democracy, Brzezinski was the architect of Carter’s Afghanistan policy, that it to say he is responsible for killing thousands of innocents and organizing the Afghan Arabs, later to become “al-Qaeda.” It is said David Rockefeller asked Brzezinski to create the Trilateral Commission and details were hammered out at Rockefeller’s Pocantico Hills estate outside New York City. Rockefeller later introduced the idea to the Bilderberg group in Knokke, Belgium in the spring of 1972.]

Obama will be controlled by Zbigniew Brzezinski and the Trilateralists

    excerpt:

[In fact, Obama has gathered under his tent — that is to say, the tent erected for him — a regular melange of globalists and one-worlders. “The Obama campaign has thus far been shown to represent: the Ford Foundation, the Trilateral Commission, the New York Council on Foreign Relations, the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations, the Bilderberger Group, Skull and Bones, the RAND Corporation, the Soros foundations, the Rockefeller family, and the Friedmanite Chicago School of economic genocide,” writes Webster Tarpley. “Obama is the Manchurian candidate groomed and indoctrinated by these financier-controlled groupings. As president, Obama would impose a regime of crushing economic austerity and a new set of foreign wars far worse than what has been seen under Bush.”]

    THE WAR AGAINST THE SAUDIS

    excerpt:

    [THE ROCKEFELLER CONNECTION

In return for US aid and support for the House of Saud, King Ibn Saud granted Aramco a monopoly over the production of Saudi oil at the end of World War II. Aramco is a consortium of companies, with Exxon, Mobil, and Socal – all Rockefeller-connected – granted 70 percent ownership, and Texaco granted the rest. A premier example of crony capitalism, the Rockefeller-Saudi alliance translated into multi-millions in subsidies through the Export-Import Bank, so that the King could build his own personal railroad from his capital to the summer palace. Franklin Roosevelt took money out of the war budget to prepare the way for Rockefeller's pipelines. In return, the Saudis granted the US an airbase at Dharan, conveniently near the oil fields. Smalltime capitalists hire private security guards to protect their property, but the big boys – or, at least, some of them – have the use of the American military.]

geesh, almost reads like a conspiracy theory..
