President George W. Bush on Appeasement
May 15, 2008--
Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before.Barack Obama on Appeasement
May 16, 2008--
"The U.S. should find a mechanism whereby the disaffected have an effective outlet for their grievances, which assures them they are getting social services... The U.S. needs a foreign policy that looks at the root causes of problems and dangers. (Obama compared Hezbollah to Hamas.) Both need to be compelled to understand that they’re going down a blind alley with violence that weakens their legitimate claims(?)... If they decide to shift, we’re going to recognize that. That’s an evolution that should be recognized."Ok... "legitimate claims?"
Did Obama really say that?
What kind of legitimate claims is Obama talking about?
-- The right to Jerusalem?
-- The right to never recognize the raping enemy?
-- The right to burn the Zionists?
It's too bad Obama did not listen in to a few Bush speeches.
The root cause- Radical Islam -was discovered a long time ago.
It's not because the people need food stamps.
Obama is dangerous.
** It should be noted that Obama's letter to Lebanon echoed Hezbollah's talking points.
More... Bob Owens is making his own "legitimate claims."
UPDATE: Noel Shephard reports on the mainstream media's disgraceful reporting on the wonderful speech that President Bush gave to the Knesset.
UPDATE 2: Mark Steyn has words for Obama the appeaser.
This man is going to set this country back further than Carter ever dreamed of doing.
ReplyDeleteNo surpise to anyone tracking Obama foreign policy lunacy. But for anyone not, or for Democrats. Did you do a double-take? Did you even pick up on his appeasement?
ReplyDeleteObama says... Hamas and Hezbollah have "legitimate claims" to make. huh?
For what? Wiping Israel off the Map? Taking over Lebanon by force?
Questions for Obama:
1) What legitimate claim does Hezbollah have to keep a para-military FARC-like force with large weapons inside Lebanon?
2) What legitimate claims does Hezbollah have to maintain an independent governing body hostile to Lebanese people within Lebanon?
3) What legitimate claims does Hezbollah have acting as Independent ambassadors to Iran and Syria?
4) What legitimate claims does Hezbollah have in receiving weapons from nations outside of Lebanon?
5) What legitimate claim does Hezbollah have to build its own communication systems and spy networks seperate from the Lebanese government?
Answer? Obama worshippers? Democrats who plan to vote for this man?
All of the forces hearing Obama speak today are smiling. Our sworn enemies just broke out the vodka with their comrades and took great consolation in his words. Because they know he is their cohort in America. They now have a friend in the land of the "great satan" they so abhor.
Democrats should be ahamed of themselves. But I welcome any attempt at a rational answer for his foreign policy blunders.
Brady bot trolls included.
Jo,
ReplyDeleteDing! He'd transform the entire region into an open market of revival for al Qaeda, Hezbollah, and Hamas havens.
He'll embolden all our enemies. Every painstaking step taken by our brave soldiers in war will be wiped out if he is elected.
Heck, he'll probably embrace our enemies in his tribal clothing as they attack all the innocents around the globe and shout allah akbar.
Carter will be his Sec of State.
And they'll both embrace on the Temple Mount as he sangs forth the evening prayer of Mohammed's calling for all to come on bended knee to the moon god Allah.
For some positive statements from rational people. See Caroline Glick responding to bloggers call.
ReplyDelete"But hope is in what is real. Hope is in Israel, hope is in the United States, hope is in everything that we are and everything that we stand for. So I don’t think there’s any lack of hope. Hope is in what the U.S. military is doing in Iraq today. I mean, for the first time, there is the shot that an Arab country might actually understand that people have power over how they live their lives and take responsibility for their actions. I mean, when has that ever happened? That’s extraordinary."
She nails it. There is true hope given today by our troops to give liberty to Iraqis.
Or there is the status quo, false hope of Obama. Nothing but empty words and promises. And the call to take away freedom from Iraqis.
Here is the link:
True Hope
Quite a long read, but good stuff. She nails it again here towards the end:
"But I’m not running for office and I’m not an Israeli politician, and I can say that American Jews who vote for Obama are sticking a finger in the eye of the Jewish people. Because, this is a man who surrounds himself with people who are known anti-Semites, who have dedicated their careers to vilifying the Jewish State, to trying to force the U.S. to abandon its alliance with Israel."
G_d Bless you Caroline and Israel for standing firm, when all around you stand wolves ready to devour you.
There is hope, true hope still in the real America who will stand by Israel. The one that does not bend over to fascist and terrorist.
The one where 60 million voted for Bush to achieve victory in Iraq!

ReplyDeletegah!! i am so angry!!
just listening to a clip of Obama more or less calling Bush an idiot for his fear mongering attack on him (what a messianic ego, but i digress) re: his Iran et al appeasement policy..
then he proceeds to give us his plan.. which ECHOES BUSH'S POLICY FROM A TO Z!!
what hypocritical gall..

Great comments, Joshua.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a link to that quote about: Obama says... Hamas and Hezbollah have 'legitimate claims' to make?

ReplyDeleteas usual, excellent posts Joshua.. (thumbsup)
re: [The one where 60 million voted

HT : Talisman Gate
The Jihadists Admit Defeat in Iraq
excerpts:
[A prolific jihadist sympathizer has posted an ‘explosive’ study on one of the main jihadist websites in which he laments the dire situation that the mujaheddin find themselves in Iraq by citing the steep drop in the number of insurgent operations conducted by the various jihadist groups, most notably Al-Qaeda’s 94 percent decline in operational ability over the last 12 months when only a year and half ago Al-Qaeda accounted for 60 percent of all jihadist activity!]
[Thus, not only is America defeating Al-Qaeda militarily in Iraq but it is also squashing the grand jihadist vision for a caliphate that the Islamic State of Iraq stood for. This point is critical: in this ideological war, victory can only come about when the ideology of the opponent is negated and proven unworkable. The fight in Iraq is doing just that.
I’m not saying that the jihadists won’t keep trying to find a workable formula for the caliphate elsewhere, but for now they have been dealt a severe demoralizing blow.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it all ye calling for a hasty withdrawal.]

ReplyDeleteGP @ 12:29 PM..
here's one (i'm sure there are others)..
Obama: Hamas and Hezbollah have “legitimate claims”
excerpt:
[The U.S. needs a foreign policy that “looks at the root causes of problems and dangers.” Obama compared Hezbollah to Hamas. Both need to be compelled to understand that “they’re going down a blind alley with violence that weakens their legitimate claims.” He knows these movements aren’t going away anytime soon (”Those missiles aren’t going to dissolve”), but “if they decide to shift, we’re going to recognize that. That’s an evolution that should be recognized.”]
btw GP, could have sworn you posted
that already, but i lose track.. ;)

Based on WHAT OBAMA HAS SAID, here's what I predict.
ReplyDeleteShortly after he's inaugurated Hamas/Hez/Iran etc. declare they're ready for peace and all attacks on Israel will cease. They know their roles, so they'll declare they've just been waiting for a man they "knew they could count on" or something like that.
Obama will be applauded from the rooftops as he declares peace in Palestine...and brings all U.S. troops home. He'll get the Nobel, the U.N. will name a day after him, and the U.S. media will go insane in his praises.
Once all our troops have left the region, they'll bide their time waiting for some faux provocation from Israel. It might be something like Israel having the gall to celebrate it's 60th birthday. Once "provoked, all parties will conduct a pre-planned concerted attack on Israel.
Obama will denounce Israel for destroying the "peace".

GP,
ReplyDeletesorry, was away. but you found it I see. Zing em! :)

BG,
thanks and yeah, that is a great find! If their own terrorist sympathizers are now openly admitting defeat!
Hmmm, to put this in Obama speaketh-easy, without his forketh-tongue.

Can our military whip Iranian backed Mahdia Army butt?

This is something anyone can do. If you don't have time tomorrow, maybe do it during the week.
Everyone have a great weekend.
You folks make me sick. Read a history book for once, Jeez.
ReplyDeleteIt's right-wingers like ya'll that have just about run this country into the ground.
Embolden blah blah blah. Idiots, the lot of you. Shut your ignorant pie-hole's or get the hell out of my country.
Seriously.
No, seriously.
Bush has certainly done a bang up job of reducing Radical Islam! Maybe we should invade the entire middle east since it's working so well in Iraq. Oh wait, that's right, it's not, we now have more than ever before.
ReplyDeleteI say not "Barack Hussein Obama, Barack Hussein Obama, Barack Hussein Obama". Rather I say "Barack CHAMBERLAIN Obama, Barack CHAMBERLAIN Obama, Barack CHAMBERLAIN Obama"!
ReplyDeleteOh, now, come one.
ReplyDeleteChamberlain has been picked on enough.
I say barack QUISLING obama!

Obama VS Bush
ReplyDeleteHeh. Let's have this fight. Bush shoots his mouth off about Nazi appeasers and McCain can't resist making a comment about Neville Chamberlain.
Next thing you know, Obama is running against the worst Prez in modern history and McCain is on the sidelines, waving his pom-poms and singing the Republican fight song.
This is exactly what Dems were planning in this election: portray the Republican nominee as Bush's third term. And McBush just handed it to them on a silver platter.
Oh - and what does the senior Republican senator think about talking to our enemies?
John McCain on Hamas: "They're the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them, one way or another. . .it's a new reality in the Middle East. "

ReplyDeleteThe 10 Worst Presidents
[Executive Editor Brian Kelly interviews Jay Tolson, U.S. News historian and author of the worst president series, about his findings.]
[So were these America's worst presidents? Or does this list merely prove that rankings are valuable to the extent they spark debate, unhelpful to the extent they foreclose it? Jay Tolson reopens the debate by noting several other prominent historians who came up with very different results.]

jews are the biggest murderers in history. See Russia, Ukraine, and Europe. Now it's payback time. Hope your messiah is there to greet you at the temple when this world war comes. Stupid jews never learn
ReplyDeleteThis is ridiculous. I am a Jew and a strong supporter of Israel, and even so, I will acknowledge thet Palestinians do have some legitimate claims.
ReplyDeleteObama hit the nail spot on when he pointed out that Palestinian violence and rejectionism are the primary factors that prevent them from achieving those claims.
Parsing more closely, the word "legitimate" serves to distinguish from their illegitimate claims, such as a "Right of Return" which is simply a thinly-veiled attempt to achieve a Palestinian majority population within Israel proper.
The sooner that Palestinians learn to recognize which of their claims are legitimate and which are not, the sooner we'll be able to achieve some actual progress at the negotiating table.

ReplyDeleteHow to Enrage a Democrat
excerpt:
[If nothing else, we now know what it takes to make a Democrat go nuts. One word: "appeasement."
Notwithstanding that President Bush named no names in his speech to Israel's Knesset on Thursday, Barack Obama instantly called it a "false political attack." On him, of course.]
[Mr. Bush is right about one thing: At bottom this dispute is about understanding the nature of the enemy in Iran, Syria and other sponsors and practitioners of Islamic terror. If the tempest over his indelicate words causes the Democratic presidential nominee to think twice about the political cost of trafficking with Tehran or Damascus, uttering "appeasement" will have been worth it.]
oh i don't think Obama will pause.. well,
not until his coronation at any rate..

So ... Mr Obama, what are the Hezbollah's and Hamas' LEGITIMATE claims?
ReplyDeleteHezbollah and Hamas 's claims as far as I know are :
annihilation of state of Israel;
return of American solders back to America from Iraq and Afghanistan so that they can take over the Iraqi oil and use Afghanistan to breed and train more terrorists;
destroy American influences around the globe;
abolition of values and principles of democracy and human rights in Muslim countries;
implementation of the barbaric Islamic Sharia laws in secular and Christian Europe and America and wherever there is a Muslim community;
so which one of these claims are LEGITIMATE, Mr Obama?
Mr Obama, if Hamas and Hezbollah put their arms down and stop their Jihad, would you as the President of the USA (if you won it) grant them their "legitimate claims"?
Legitimate Calims: That all people should have the right to own and paossess property, like the property that has been seized for no compensation. That all people should have the freedom to conduct business, unlike those that have been locked down in Gaza, that all people have the right to a government that represents them, unlike most fo the arab governments in the area.
ReplyDeleteIn short, the legitimate claims of the people in the region, the dissaffected and angry everyday people in the region, the people who have nothing left to loose and can be easily convinced to strap on a vest made out of dynamite, those people, their legitimate claims are the same as the rights we have here in the USA.
Rights that we are supposedly fighting to provide to the people of Iraq. Rights that this country was founded on and yet this administration feels justified in not only not providing these same rights to the people in the region this administration won't even entertain the thought that anyone in the middle east should be heard at all.
Obama wants work with Hamas to dismantle Israel. It is a sad day when Obama is playing politics while Israel is celebrating its 60th anniversary. It is an ominous sign. Obama's reign will be another Carter's and the USA will sink fast into stagflation and our foreign policy will be obsequiously kissing up to tyrants and terrorists. After Obama we will wish for Carter!!!
