General David Petraeus said on Friday that American troop presence in Iraq blunts Iranian influence in the region.
But, Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama want US troops out of Iraq now.
Today Jimmy called for an Iraq troop withdrawal deadline.

Oh... And, Jimmy also said that the US has "perpetrated destruction on Iraq unnecessarily."
The BBC reported:
Former US president Jimmy Carter has called for a clear deadline for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. That Jimmy sure has a way of lifting up America.
Mr Carter, who now spends much of his time in international diplomacy also called for increased communication with Iran over fears that the country is planning nuclear proliferation.
The 83-year-old, speaking at the Hay Festival in Powys, also deplored the situation in Gaza.
He claimed 1.6m Palestinians were living in a "prison".
He said many countries were behaving in a "supine" manner as people in Gaza were being systematically denied basic food and sustenance.
Mr Carter, who is due to give a lecture at the literary festival later on Sunday, was questioned on whether he agreed with US presidential candidate Barak Obama's promise to withdraw US troops from Iraq within 16 months.
He said he could not speak for Mr Obama but said there should be a three-step process of US withdrawal from Iraq.
Mr Carter, a fierce critic of the war, said the Americans should notify Iraq's leaders that they would leave at a certain date.
"I don't care if it's one year or five years....the essence of it is to let the world know that...we are going to be out," Mr Carter told journalists.
The next stage he said would be to assure Iraqis that they would have complete control over their political, military and economic affairs, including oil.
Finally, Mr Carter said there was a need "to marshal help from other nations in rebuilding the destruction that we have perpetrated on Iraq unnecessarily" so that the Iraqi people know they can stand on their own.
Do you think this would be considered "blaming America first?"
UPDATE: Carter continued his appalling discussion of Israel at The Guardian.
When is this old fart going to retire?
ReplyDeleteOh, this is a really low guilt by association smear, suggesting that Obama is anything like Jimmy I-don't-equate-Qassams-with-terrorism Carter, seemingly an Obama supporter and superdelegate. They may both talk about oppression, social justice and so on, even talk to undesirables, but Obama's nothing like history rewriter and terrorist advocate Dhimmi Carter. - ER
ReplyDeleteHe's a repugnant little man still bitter about having Bonzo's sidekick clean his clock. From that moment he has essentially hated the American public for the vote that shamed him.
ReplyDeleteHe continues to mingle among that small orb of anti American miscreants who comfort and abet his hate. More often than not overseas. I'm sure when Arafat died he was crushed.
Twain said it best as regards the Carter's through history when hearing one died. "While I'm sorry I can't be there, I approve of the procedings" or something to that effect.
Amy... I think it's time to look into assisted living quarters.
ReplyDeleteThis moron Carter needs to be put into a retirement home.
ReplyDeleteHis disgusting fish-eyes popping out of his nasty face.
Carter is the most worthless president in the history of the U.S., and that is absolute fact.
From the allowing of the Islamic revolution in Iran, to "certifying" Chavez's election, the giving away of the Panama Canal, to the Iranian hostage crisis, anti-Semitic rants and books, undermining of our nation in a time of war (ex-president????), to boycotting the Olympics (yeah, that did a lot), to gas lines, to NOT legalizing weed like he promised, to his stupid face and bug-eyes.
I f'ing HATE Jimmi "dhimmi" Carter, he is just a total, worthless, piece of shit.
Anyone who has respect for this C4 (Cretin Cracker Called Carter), is a braindead moron, FACT.
It's ironic that a man who had a disasterous foreign policy when he was President, would spend his post-White House years galavanting around the globe and interjecting his views on foreign policy as if he had any degree of credibility.
ReplyDeleteWhat's next, Jimmy Carter economics 101...?
You ain't heard nothing yet.
ReplyDeleteThe damn fool told the world today how many nuclear weapons Israel has

I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it.

Mike H.,
ReplyDeletesmiles, thanks for that little laught this morning.
As for Jimmaaaaah... maybe the old man can look at Task Marne's Before and After look at Iraq.
There are great pics from Task Force Marne See bottom of page link.
Or, link below leads to PDF document of 40 pages showing schools, medical centers, streets, markets, soccer stadiums, whole communities being restored after American troops came in to each community.
Before and After Iraqi Success!
I guess that is to boring for MSM. Carter, an uninformed tool for the left has no idea how much our troops have done for Iraqi citizens.
Someone deserves great credit. MNF-I needs to put this document out to the world. And add to it all the other projects. MNF-I has done a great job, but someone at MNF-C, Task Marne undertands media publicity. Thru simple words; Before and After, along with pictures they show great progress America makes for Iraq.
They probably don't care who uses these images as long as they're utilized in context with the story, with credit back to Task Force Marne. Maybe the Blogs can get these Before and After pics out to counter Carter?
Love our troops! God Bless them all on this day of rememberance, those lost, those before who survived and passed on, and all the families.
America is doing wonderful things in Iraq. Rebuilding a nation from scratch with infrastructure and tecnology it has never seen!
Carter is a fool.
Carter never met a dictator or encountered a violent, oppressive ideology he didn't like. We get it, Jimmy. Now, drop dead.
ReplyDeletePicture an ex president Obama not restrained by the worry of election re-election on the international stage for say 30 years with his wife.
ReplyDeletePresident Carter gives us an excellent preview of that time.
The BBC quotes Carter as saying "perpetrated", not "perpetuated". Perpetrated is a term normally used to describe crimes.
ReplyDeleteOne word: Moron.
ReplyDeleteOnce a moron, always a moron I guess.
One has to remember that Carter achieved an almost perfect America, from the point of view of the Marxists (ie Democrat party). The Carter presidency nearly destroyed our economy, gas prices could have shot up 500 or 1000 %. We had been taken down a peg, internationally, and it looked as if we might have to unilaterally disarm to appease the ever mightier Soviets.
ReplyDeleteFrom the perspective of a Carter, or an Obama, an impoverished America, whose people must depend upon government for their survival, and must go on bended knee to her enemies is their dream come true. Carter will always be bitter that us rubes rejected his vision, and that Reagan proved us right.
Somebody above mentioned "assisted living."
ReplyDeleteI think that Dr. Kevorkian could provide the assistance the Carter needs.
Mr Carter, who now spends much of his time in international diplomacy...
ReplyDeleteI was unaware that Carter was a diplomat. For what country?
He's a media whore clown
ReplyDelete" . . . now spends much of his time in international diplomacy"
ReplyDeleteAnd hasn't gotten any better at since his disastrous presidency, when he actually had the power to DO something.
I'm with Timothy: On who's behalf? Who asked him to do so?

Hmmmm... so they both talk the same talk, but you expect us to believe they'll walk completely differently? And this dangerous assumption would be based on just exactly what actual experience with Obama???
I don't know of any actual 'things' Obama has done that would indicate in the slightest that he would be better than Carter. The only reason to even think so is that Carter set the bar so abysmally low it's almost inconceivable any sentient being could actually be worse as a President OR ex-President...
To the "Anonymous" poster who said Obama was "nothing like" Carter"...well, I beg to differ. You need to scratch a little below the surface and you will EASILY find Carter II.
ReplyDeleteThe fact Zbigniew Brzezinski, Carter's National Security advisor is one of Obama's top foreign policy advisors, and could easily end up as Secretary-of-State is enough for me!
To the last 2 commenters, "rob" that's just a superficial perception, do more research; and to "dave136" McCain's worse and I have done research on Obama, and Carter--in fact, just today I made this, to point out and rebut some of his errors. I'm not sure if I'll make one in support of Obama or his policies anytime soon though, maybe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for caring about global security, even if we disagree (at least for now). - ER
Gollum!!
ReplyDeleteI was having a pretty nice day until I saw ol' Frog eyes Carter looking at me. Its bad enough that he's caused most of troubles we are now having with Iran and all of the Islamic Terrorist running around but it looks like he has the longivity of the "Everyready Battery" he just keeps on running. What else can this old Jew hater do before he leaves this vale of tears, I fear to guess.
ReplyDeleteI regret that we named a U.S. Navy submarine after this moron. Hey, BuShips: can you decommission this boat, or at least change it's name?
