Musharraf was the first Pakistani leader to meet with the American Jewish Congress . He accepted Israeli aid after the devastating earthquakes in 2005. He expanded women's rights in Pakistan. He was not perfect but the fact that Israel was the first country to congratulate Musharraf on his election win in 2007 should tell you something.
Because of Musharraf's imperfections and his close ties with America and Bush, Democrats and the Western Press decided to wage war on this tyrant in Pakistan.
They treated Musharraf like a bastard step child or like President Uribe of Colombia.
When new elections were called several anti-Bush senators even volunteered to travel to Pakistan to make sure that President Musharraf did not steal any elections.

Nawaz Sharif tried to impose Islamic law on Pakistan in 1998 while he was prime minister. There were reports that he repeatedly met with Osama Bin Laden. He was charged with corruption and was chased out of Pakistan.
In February, the former prime minister's party and the PPP won a majority of the vote. Musharraf's party was obliterated at the polls.
One of the first things the victorious parties did was apologize to the Taliban. They also promised to hold talks with the terrorists.

It just got worse...
Ali Eteraz reported that the PPP went back on their word and allowed Sharia law to be set up in the North Western Frontier Province.
Pakistan just appeased the terrorists.
Ali is outraged and has more on these troubling developments.
I was afraid of this from the getgo. The party now in control long had ties to communist and socialist. They were corrupt long before Musharraf came on the scene.

But then, what part of Pakistan is not corrupted today at the highest levels and military? This country is still to corrupt for moderates to rule. Moderates still do not have enough power.
There will be much more blood, probably another military coup, and much more Taliban/al Qaeda attacks against Afghanistan, Pakistan and India before this is all over.
Until a strong leader can clean the military of radicals and taliban sympathizers this will continue.
Oh, forgot to mention. The opportunity for attacks against the West and America as well.

So tell me again why the majority of Americans in the Jewish community vote Democrat?
