Obama Might Do Better in Kentucky If He Knew Where It Was

"What it says is that I’m not very well known in that part of the country... Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known — not only because of her time in the White House with her husband — but also coming from a nearby state of Arkansas."

Barack Obama
Telephone Interview with the Lexington Herald-Leader
Friday- May 18, 2008
Kentucky is one of two states that borders 7 different states:
Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee and Missouri all border Kentucky.

Arkansas does not border Kentucky- Illinois does.

Blue Grass- Red State reported:

Not only does Barack Obama ignore the possibility that he is losing West Virginia, Kentucky, and numerous other states to Hillary Clinton because they disagree with him on important issues like foreign policy, for example (where Clinton does not advocate negotiating with Hamas), but he gets his geography wrong again!

Colonel Steve nails it (again, emphasis mine):

But, at looking at just this line alone, I wonder even more about the geography lessons he had as a child (also see his recent problems with Sioux Falls and Sioux City here).

Let's see, Arkansas IS close to Kentucky, as stated, but not quite as close as Obama's home state of Illinois. Matter of fact, the state he represents in the Senate actually borders Kentucky. Please, will somebody in the Obama campaign get Barack a map. With all 50 states. Draw in the other 7, if needed, so he'll recognize it.

I'm not convinced it's Kentucky knowing Senator Clinton that's the issue. I think it's Obama not knowing Kentucky that's the issue.
This follows Obama's Sioux City gaffe earlier in the week.

UPDATE: Beto Ochoa puts Obama's ignorance to song:

Don't know much about history
Jus' what liberals taught to me
Don't know much about a bible book
Jus' the view Revren' Jeri took
But I do know I need your vote
And the press ain't gonna' rock the boat
What a wonderful scam this will be

Don't know much about geography
Jus' the places where the elite be
Don't know much about ancient rocks
Jus' the way to stuffa' ballot box
But I know that if we make one vote two
And if we supress the rednecks too
What a wonderful scam this will be

Now, I don't claim to be an "A" student
Just a product of whitey guilt
And if we can make you all feel guilty
I can get ya'll to vote for me

Don't know much about history

Judging by the map, Kentucky is nearby to Arkansas. BO never said it was 'next to'.

On the other hand, I bet that they are different media markets and doubt that there is much interaction between the two at an individual level.

A proper Clintonian response would be, "Well, it all depends on the what the definition of 'nearby' is."

If you factor in the two closest points between Kentucky and Arkansas, as well as the actual driving distance, you'd still have to travel upwards of 100 miles through either Missouri or Tennessee to get to Arkansas. Even in those parts, that's not exactly "nearby."

The anonymous tool does not understand that a state "bordering another state" is necessarily closer to that state, than a state that does not border the other state.

Obama is well known as an articulate ignoramus, and he is collecting an army of like-minded tools to help him wrest the US presidency away.

Will Obama become "President For Life?" Oprah says "he is the one." He certainly carries himself in much the same manner of entitlement as other presidents for live such as Duvalier, Amin, Mugabe, etc.

We must watch and see how Obamassiah pursues his goals.

hmmm, wonder why Obama (pbuh) never mentions his
"home state" or his (pbuh) Illinois accomplishments, especially what he's done for the people in his district (not to mention Michelle's)??

    just some Obama (pbuh) fun..

will the victimization of Obama (pbuh) never end!!

it could lead to Messiah (pbuh) riots ya know..

lots more here.. and all over the web (well, what hasn't as yet been Obama scrubbed anyways)..

  5. Obama's 57 state BLOOPER and this one are probably caused by two things:

FIRST: he's NOT as smart as people say he is.

This is obvious to non-"believers"; only a dumbass would virtually SWEAR his eternal allegiance to Wright one week and then disavow him the next.

SECOND: he was first raised/educated in a freakin'; Third World MUSLIM nation, INDONESIA.

I betchya that the schoolbooks he learned with were OLD and stated that the USA had only "48 states plus Hawaii and Alaska."

Ands I betchya his UYSA geography suffered as a result, too.

He never had to study geography at Harvard Law - (or Columbia, I betchya).

He got by FOR DECADES on being a smooth-talking sweet-smiling black, one with an exotic name.

    He's still milking this.

To our peril if he's elected.

he's the LEAST qualified and most leftist candidate for POTUS of all time.

ONLY TODAY'S DEMOCRATS COULD NOMINATE HIM.

    THEY DESERVE HIM.

THE REST OF US PEOPLE IN THE FREE WORLD DON'T.

  6. This is a very timely post, GP. It clears up a confusatory conundrumness confrontating us all: When I would see a lefty bumper sticker that said, "Hey, Dude, Where's My Country?", I didn't realize it was simply a sincere inquiry. Apparently, the liberals just don't know where they are!

From now on I'll tell them their "Country" is "nearby" Albania (with apologies to all you Albanians out there). I hope it helps. Maybe it will make room for more illegal aliens.

  10. Obama didn't learn geography in the madrassa.

What he meant to say was:

"I'm not as well known in backward, hillbilly-infested dumbass states, like Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennesee and other shitholes that I'd never want to visit."

  12. I agree, Ohmmade. I'm from Kentucky, and I've been in Arkansas once while driving to Texas. Illinois and I, contrarily, have a much more familiar relationship. I go there quite often because of its proximity. The local channels where I live cover much of southeastern Illinois and Southern Indiana. Western Kentucky is, in fact, influenced by Obama's home state... and they still aren't voting for him. Noone here is influenced by Arkansas.
