Was this by accident?... Or, was the news just too much for the American public to handle?... Do you think they'd ignore the news if violence was at a 4 year high instead of a 4 year low?
** Thankfully Amy Proctor covered the hearings and posted several video clips.
In this clip Senator Joe Lieberman congratualates General David Petraeus and General Raymond Odierno for saving Iraq:
Leiberman offered:
"Military analysyts Fred and Kim Kagan wrote ("The Patton of Counterinsurgency") and I quote, 'Great commanders often come in pairs- Eisenhower and Patton, Grant and Sherman. Generals David Patraeus and Raymond Odierno can now be added to that list... I think the two of you have now earned your your place in the ranks of the most impressive military commanders in American history."
to borrow a tune and lyric...
ReplyDeleteHey Joe, where you going with that Truth to Power in your hand...
Powell and Schwarzkopf were not a bad team either.
Congrats to all our troops for overcoming enemies at home and abroad!
And thanks for that clip!
Thanks and thank Amy!

"The Media totally ignored the Petraeus hearings this week on progress in Iraq."
ReplyDeleteUtterly and flagrantly false. Anyone can find out just how mendacious this claim is by taking five seconds to run a search on Google News. Note the number of results (as of about 9:00 PM EDT today): 1170 news articles.
Is there some special reason why Jim Hoft thinks that all of his readers are complete imbeciles?
These great, talented and honorable Generals WILL go down in history as 2 of our best. God bless them both (and Senator Lieberman for recognizing them). I wish I could shake their hand and thank them personally for all they have done not only for us and for Iraqis...but ultimately for the world. ReplyDeleteOnly the Pentagon Channel covered the hearing. Who has the Pentagon Channel except a bunch of Army wives and their soldiers anyway? No other major network covered it live. C-Span aired the hearing at 9 PM CST. I'm sure all of America, who didn't even know the hearing had taken place, were up watching C-Span until midnight!
ReplyDeleteThe entire briefing was boring if you're looking for sensational soundbytes but exciting if you care about Iraqis and their country... and our troops. The explanations about how PM Maliki has evolved from a figure under suspicion by many/most in Iraq and many in the U.S. leadership to one of real leadership bringing political and ethnic reconcilation was POWERFUL! The story that unfolded in Basra...what looked like the beginning of a downward spiral (remember all the media coverage about the fighting there?)...ended in sectarian unity and a renewed excitment among Iraqis that UNITY IS HAPPENING and peace is coming to Iraq.
I urge everyone to watch the videos. I don't know about you, but the news coverage of Iraq has been so scant in the past few months that this is the first time in a while we've been able to get a professional assessment of the condition on the ground. And it's looking very good. Even Sec. Gates is using terms like U.S. strategic objectives “are within reach” in Afghanistan and Iraq" and "we are now seeing what the end game in Iraq looks like, with our forces drawing down over time".
By the way, did you see the video of Hillary asking Odierno how long it would take "a president" to responsibly withdraw troops from Iraq? She's either fixated with her own Presidency or preparing for the next debate.
Really, meatbrain? How many people do you think were doing Google searches under LT GEN Odierno and GEN David Petraeus on Thursday? The cable networks reported virtually nothing about the briefings. Let's be real. You had to do a Google search to see if my assertion was correct!
ReplyDelete"The cable networks reported virtually nothing about the briefings."
ReplyDeleteYour claim wasn't limited to the cable networks, Amy. You made the specific claim that coverage was lacking in the "MSM" (mainstream media), which includes newspapers (except, of course, when Amy Proctor gets caught making a mendacious claim).
"Let's be real. You had to do a Google search to see if my assertion was correct!"
And how, exactly, does this change the fact that the mainstream media did, in fact, cover the hearings? When someone bothered to actually look at the facts, Amy, it became obvious that you were lying.
Brainless ...
ReplyDelete... that coverage is like much of the stuff you get from a software company's help desk ... technically correct, but practically useless.
How much of the print coverage on this central subject of public debate was placed below the fold ... or buried somewhere in the middle of the paper, where it will be overlooked by all but the most motivated readers?
OTOH, look at the coverage of the Senatorial Inquisition of the petroleum-company execs ... that kangaroo court was definitely covered in a way that the public noticed. (Or, is it that, unlike Leftist-supporting hacks like yourself, the public is more comfortable with what's happening in Iraq now, and therefore pays less attention to that?)
In practical terms of effectiveness, Amy and GP were spot-on ...
... but that means NOTHING to gnat-strainers like yourself, who are more interested in catching your political adversaries on a Pharasiacial technicality than on the preservation of life and liberty ...
... for that is why you and your ilk still LIE about the role of America in this world, when it comes to the preservation of life and liberty, by painting her as an imperialist warmonger -- while at the same time, ignoring how those like the late-and-unlamented Saddam & Sons strive to build high-tech versions of Afghanistan, circa early 2001, with respect to terrorism.
It is the 20th-century conventional wisdom regarding America's role in the world, that you appear to support and perpetuate, that is the second-biggest lie in America.
BTW, The Biggest Lie of All also comes from your allies in the blame-America-first contingent ... it is their view of America, perpetuated over decades:
"All you have to do is show up for work ... we, the Best and Brightest, will make sure that OTHERS take care of everything else, from health care to educating your kids to retirement."
Meatbrain, you strain at every gnat of your opponents' errors ... while swallowing the twin camels of death and destruction in butter-covered gulps.
It is your thinking, that facilitates today's problems regarding life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
It is Amy, GP, and others, that seek to facilitate the solutions ... but their solutions don't fit the myopically distorted worldview of the Best and Brightest, and/or would call their amoral (if not hedonistic) lifestyle and societal choices into serious question.
That questioning is not a welcome proposition by those who have made careers for themselves, by attempting to establish your "rights" to ...
... get high ...
... get laid ...
... get a free Band-Aid(TM) ...
... get a check ...
... just get by ...
... by taking your right to get ahead.
So, instead, they -- like you -- keep straining those gnats ... but, more and more, people aren't being fooled by the condescending expressions of offense that accompany all the camel-swallowing ...
... and they won't get fooled again ...

ReplyDeleteDo you honestly think the people who post here do not know what you are up to? You do not even address the issue, but try to divert everyone's attention off to how, in your mind, this news in Iraq is widely reported.
Why don't you address the good news and admit to all of us here that you and your ilk have been wrong, are wrong, and will continue to be wrong about Iraq because you quite simply refuse to believe anything good could be happening in Iraq. Don't talk to us about lying!
"In practical terms of effectiveness, Amy and GP were spot-on ..."
ReplyDeleteIn terms of factuality, Amy and GP lied.
Next time you try to move the goalposts, try to be less blatantly incompetent at it.
"You do not even address the issue, but try to divert everyone's attention off to how, in your mind, this news in Iraq is widely reported."
ReplyDeleteBZZZZZZT!!! Wrong! Thank you for playing!
Amy Proctor and Jimmycrap Hoftwad chose to make an issue out of "how... this news in Iraq is widely reported". I merely pointed out that they were lying.
"Don't talk to us about lying!"
I'll talk to you about anything I like. You don't get a say in the matter.
Brainless ...
ReplyDeleteNext time you try to move the goalposts, try to be less blatantly incompetent at it.
Next time you try to remove the speck from someone else's eye, maybe you should remember to deal with the Sequoias in both of yours beforehand ...
... unless you want people like me to help you find them, as I did above, for all the world to see.
The lies YOU attempt to reinforce and perpetrate are orders of magnitude greater than anything you accuse GP or Amy of.
It's kind of hard for you to be seen as a credible Truth Policeman, when you are so willing to support the lies of the last century, and/or those like the Big 0 (as in, zero) who seek to implement them as policy.
The only truth you reinforce, OTOH, is the truth of my assertions above ... you do it every time you pollute these pages with your gnat-strainings.
GP, banning the Meathead would not be censorship.
It would be quality control.
"The lies YOU attempt to reinforce and perpetrate are orders of magnitude greater than anything you accuse GP or Amy of."
ReplyDeleteCite the specific lies you accuse me of telling.
Cite the specific instances in which I have made the statements you claim are lies.
I've encountered many "meatbrains" over the years on my blog, and on others, and they are virtually the same. The take an unsustainable position to counter the topic of discussion, cloak it in vitriol and maybe some name calling, and continue on painting themselves into a corner that they cannot get out of without leaving tracks proving to everyone that, well, they painted themselves into a corner!
ReplyDeleteGateway is a liar, I'm a liar, Bush is a liar, Cheney is a liar, Petraeus is a liar....anyone who doesn't tell these people what they want to hear are liars. As a mother of 4, I cringe at the idea of raising someone like that! Yet another good reason to be conservative.
Also, since Google searches are the litmus test of appropriate proportions for news coverage, I feel it my duty to point out that COW DUNG IS MAJOR NEWS TODAY!
Look at the pages and pages of links to MSM outlets reporting on cow dung. Obviously this is BIG news and we know because Google tells us so.
I respectfully point to the irony of meathead's position: if the news were really that abundant, would he have to do a Google search to find coverage of the Petraeus/Odierno hearing? Did he have to Google Hillary and Obama in order to have any news coverage of their campaign fiascos? No, they were front and center on CNN, MSNBC, Fox, etc., etc.,
When C-Span doesn't even cover an event live like a hearing on Iraq with the commanding generals who've been compared to Grant and Sherman, Patton and Eisenhower, you know it's been shelved!
Again I ask meatbrain, what TV stations did you see the hearings carried live on, or carried at all? That's what I thought. TV is the main medium for information dispensation. Newspapers are in the tank and laying off workers. Wonder why?
This isn't rocket science.
"Also, since Google searches are the litmus test of appropriate proportions for news coverage..."
ReplyDeleteWho in this discussion has made that claim, Amy?
"I respectfully point to the irony of meathead's position: if the news were really that abundant, would he have to do a Google search to find coverage of the Petraeus/Odierno hearing?"
Your original post said nothing about how "abundant" the coverage was, Amy. Nor have I said anything about how "abundant" the coverage was. You made the claim that the mainstream media failed to cover the hearings.
Did major newspapers -- which you have already admitted are part of the mainstream media -- cover the hearings, Amy?
Yes or no?
"Again I ask meatbrain, what TV stations did you see the hearings carried live on, or carried at all?"
I didn't make any claims about having seen the hearings, Amy. Nor was your claim limited to TV stations. You made the claim that the mainstream media failed to cover the hearings.
Did major newspapers -- which you have already admitted are part of the mainstream media -- cover the hearings, Amy?
Yes or no?
"TV is the main medium for information dispensation."
BECAUSE! AMY! SAYS! SO!
And... because those goalposts have got to be moved!
"Newspapers are in the tank and laying off workers."
This is relevant how, exactly? Are newspapers part of the mainstream media, Amy? Did newspapers cover the hearings, Amy?
Re-read what I said, Brainless ... for I was very careful in my wording.
ReplyDelete"The lies YOU attempt to reinforce and perpetrate are orders of magnitude greater than anything you accuse GP or Amy of."
I didn't accuse you of telling lies.
You don't have to tell a lie, to reinforce or perpetrate it ... you just have to stand in support the others that do the telling, and/or discredit their opponents while letting the lie stand unopposed by you.
From what I see, your obsession with GP is based on the fact that he challenges Leftist conventional wisdom on a daily basis ... the fount for those Big Lies I cited above ... and instead points out the wisdom and significance of world events, including those shaped by President Bush and others who are hated by the Left.
Your consistent challenges over jots and tittles ... a lame attempt to change the debate through distraction instead of dealing with the core of the conflicts ... indicates that (1) you stand with the liars, but (2) you cannot defend their lies on their own merits.
You see, two can play your game ... only I play with fundamentals, while you play with gnats. You're bringing a penknife to an artillery duel. That IS brainless.
Let us understand something ... the basic premises of the neoconservatism so disdained by your fellow-travelers WERE ALREADY PROVEN WELL BEFORE 2001 -- AND ARE BEING PROVEN OUT IN IRAQ TODAY.
But to admit that would mean that they would also have to admit that their most-hated opponent HAS THE WISDOM TO RESOLVE CONFLICTS THAT THEY, THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST, DO NOT ... and open up their entire worldview, including their own societal and lifestyle choices, to serious questioning.
People like you want to prevent that by ANY MEANS NECESSARY ... so you try to change the subject with distractions over jots and tittles.
While the threats to our civilization remain ... and people die by the thousands.
Now, do you get it?
"I didn't accuse you of telling lies."
ReplyDeleteWhen directly confronted on his empty accusations, the gormless bully always runs away.
"You don't have to tell a lie, to reinforce or perpetrate it ... you just have to stand in support the others that do the telling, and/or discredit their opponents while letting the lie stand unopposed by you."
What lies, boltbrain? You have yet to name a single one.
What boltbrain is attempting (poorly) is the hoary old fallacy of guilt by association. He is so incompetent at this that he cannot even name the specific "lies", or the unnamed "Leftists" I am supposedly in league with.

Excuse me, Brainless ... I did accuse you of lying, above.
ReplyDeleteAnd I stand by that accusation.
Here are the lies I have been referring to.
... for that is why you and your ilk still LIE about the role of America in this world, when it comes to the preservation of life and liberty, by painting her as an imperialist warmonger -- while at the same time, ignoring how those like the late-and-unlamented Saddam & Sons strive to build high-tech versions of Afghanistan, circa early 2001, with respect to terrorism.

"All you have to do is show up for work ... we, the Best and Brightest, will make sure that OTHERS take care of everything else, from health care to educating your kids to retirement."
A cursory examination of your own blog backs up ALL my assertions.
Start dealing with the fundamentals ... if you can defend them.
You can start with these FUNDAMENTAL FACTS:
1> The events of 11 September 2001 showed us that even nations like Afghanistan ... as insignificant economically and militarily as they come ... can leverage technology, and exploit both the respect for their sovereignty by others, and the freedom-of-movement essential for the operation of our civilization, to facilitate acts of war as egregious and destructive as Pearl Harbor (if not worse) upon our nation.
Therefore, in our time, the oceans do not protect us from even the "mice" who seek to "roar" with terror ... and such nations are a continuing threat to our civilization as long as they are controlled by those who do not share our respect for life and liberty.
In that light, we were justified in initiating and prosecuting the decisive confrontation of another nation with a history of egregious, brutal totalitarian rule ...
... a technically-modern, wealthy nation that had no checks and balances against expressions of their leader's capricious will, even beyond that nation's borders, through overt military force and/or corruption of the international community ...
... and that ANY passive-defense measures, such as outside "containment", weapons-inspections, and even sanctions, that did not breach the veil of that nations sovereignty were/are INADEQUATE to assure that this brutal regime would not attempt to emulate the "success" of the Taliban and their AQ allies.
2> In fact, at least in my own 49-year lifetime, there has been no liberation from oppression, no significant reductions in arms stockpiles, and no sustainable reduction in international tensions without, as a prerequisite, the CREDIBLE (as in, ready-and-willing-to-fight-if-need-be) CONFRONTATION of the totalitarian oppressors/warmongers by rights-respecting governments ... most notably, by our own.
President Bush acknowledges, in word and in policy, these facts ... while critics like you, in the face of history, continue (as Mythbuster Adam Savage might put it) "to reject that reality and substitute your own", by casting America and this President as the enemy - even if it means perpetuating the Big Lies of our time.
Until you deal with that reality ...
Your protests, my friend

meathead - we all know how little reporting there is of the good news coming out of Iraq. When the surge starting going in the favour of the American troops and the Iraqi people, there was nothing but silence coming out of the leftbots. No one needs to argue about this but you, 'cause you can't stand the fact that things are going well in Iraq now.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see you reply to me with anything good about Iraq? How about it, eh? Cat got your tongue. Let's see if you can be truthful on how it is going in Iraq. I bet you can't do it.
"I'll talk to you about anything I like. You don't get a say in the matter." by meathead

Gee, meathead, I almost feel sorry for you. You are like a dog chasing his tail around and around in a circle, and then stops to lick his butt every once in awhile, just to commence chasing his tail again.....really pathetic.
OK, Meathead ...
ReplyDelete... let's start with this from "Obscenities Committed in Our Name", over at your blog -- which I will not give you the satisfaction of linking to, out of respect for our host here, in the course of this exercise:
The wounds we have inflicted on the Iraqi people and their society are deep and penetrating. It will require generations to repair that society. One can only hope that a future US will do all it can to make amends for the terrible damage we have done to the Iraqi people.
The damage done to the people of Iraq is primarily the responsibility of two small subsets of people:
>Saddam Huessein and his fellow Baathists.
>The "foreign fighters" of AQ and related origin.
These are the ones that have targeted the Iraqi people for their payloads of misery and destruction -- in Saddam's case, well before 20 Jan 2001. Subtract the casualties they have perpetrated out of the total count, and that leaves very few at the feet of President Bush.
Where is your fair-and-balanced commentary of THEIR ROLE -- including Saddam's role BEFORE 2001, much less 2003 -- and our role in putting an end to the miery perpetrated by BOTH groups.
NOOOO ... you try and lay them all at OUR feet, just like many other Leftists. You support their false narrative of America as the brutal warmonger, without equivocation on your part.
Our error was in not being intense enough, early-on, in stopping these thugs ... not living up to the dictum "No Better Friend ... No Worse Enemy" that has served humanity so well over the years ... an error made in part because people like you were raising such a stink that the Administration excessively "minimized our footprint" there ... an error that the Surge has now corrected, with very positive results that your lying tongue will never admit!
I am more than willing to admit the errors of those I support ... so when are you going to admit the errors of the Leftists you make common cause with, and cease reversing the roles of our military and our enemies in this narrative ... in particular, by portraying every instance of misconduct, every error, and every setback in Iraq as TYPICAL of our forces and their commanders there, as you do on this post and others on your own blog?
In one sense, you did tell the truth ... we did inflict serious wounds upon the Iraqi people, albeit indirectly -- in 1991, when we left Saddam free to kill thousands of them ... left him free out of political and diplomatic expediency.
But I don't think that was what you were referring to.
BTW, regarding the Biggest Lie of All, you need to learn how to read better -- I never said YOU said it, just those you make common cause with ... and like the Big 0, a Meatbrain is known by the company he keeps.
Shall I go on?
There is no lie that Jim Hoft will not tell.
I'll leave you with one lie that neither Jim, nor myself, nor any reasonable man will tell ...
... that Meatbrain is reasonable and intelligent.
BTW, Meatbrain ... let me make it clear.
ReplyDeleteYour assertion about Jim's ability to avoid telling lies is, by your own standards, a lie ...
... for his lack of willingness to declare you reasonable and intelligent is beyond a reasonable doubt ... as is your lack of reason and intelligence, as those attributes are daily exposed, by yourself, by me, and by others, for the world to see.
Now, lets quit dealing with the specks of who did what -- and deal with the Sequoias upon which life and liberty hinge.
I'll repeat the questions, since boltbrain clearly did not comprehend them the first time. Perhaps this time he will spare us the excess verbiage and simply provide very specific answers to these very specific questions...

FYI, I did watch a tape of the confirmation hearings last night on C-SPAN, so I would assume that at some point earlier in the day it ran live. But if the hearings weren't shown live, they were certainly on C-SPAN because I watched them. It was refreshing to see a confirmation hearing in which the democrats didn't take camera time to make long, winding political statements at the expense of those hoping to be confirmed, or at the expense of the viewing publics intelligence. I was reading through this series of comments and noticed that not long after a few of you started going back and forth with one another, the topic of media coverage was left in the dust for the most part. I hope that everyone on this comment page would agree that in this day in age we can no longer expect brilliant military leaders like Petreaus and Odierno to become househole names. Our values have shifted and in my opinion many of our values have been degraded. Sports heroes and entertainers have taken the place of real, virtuous men and women. As a result, there is no interest in television stations airing the confirmation hearings of two men who millions of Americans have never heard of.
ReplyDeleteCiting the number of google results that a query about the confirmation hearings results in, certainly does show that the media covered these hearings in some way, shape or form. But I would hate to meet someone who really thinks that we can assume that small internet websites and media outlets abroad are able to convey the news of Petreaus and Odierno to millions of Americans flipping through the channels over the last 48 hours. Millions of Americans are NOT googling these confirmation hearings. Millions of Americans don't know either of these Generals and likely never will. Media outlets across our nation could have had an active role in educating our citizens about these two men by airing part or all of these hearings. Maybe it would have even shown that the fractured government in Washington, does at times actually do it's job responsibly by putting the right people in the right places. The media outlets across our nation chose NOT to air these hearings for many reasons. Yes, the hearings were "covered" in writing in many places on the internet, but let's be real and understand that aside from people like us who search for the truth and the news, most of our society is spoon-fed their information and aside from C-SPAN these hearings are just a whisper in the 24 news cycle.
All of your arguments just seem like rants about semantics. Hot air and not much in the way of influential ideas about what we need and what matters.
I like this blog!
FLY ARMY!
Meatbrain ... the answers were in my last comment ... and for all the world to see.
ReplyDeleteDo I have to spell it out? The lie you are telling is is that America is acting as a brutal warmonger, instead of a liberator and protector of life and liberty that makes errors, but still acts in good faith with regards to these aims.
I cited just one instance, of many, from your own blog as evidence.
Why don't you deal with the Sequoias here, instead of the sawdust?
You lie down with dogs, and you get up with fleas ... or in your case, gnats. Your own words, from your own blog prove it ... you make common cause with the hate-America Left.
And, since you are so strident in making common cause with the Left on the war, the idea that you support their social(ist) agenda, as summarized in the Biggest Lie of All, is a reasonable assumption.
Prove me wrong ... with reasoned discussion, not Pharasaicial parsing.
Simply repeating the questions won't change the exposure of your foolishness.
You are a Leftist parrot, squawking out mindless repetition of what your masters say, without any brain activity (meat or vegetable) involved in the process.
Until you deal with the FUNDAMENTAL issues I bring up, instead of straining at every gnat of perceived falsehood on the part of your opponents in a lame attempt to justify the unjustifiable, the best response to you is ...

It's not about specific statements, Perry Mason.
You make common cause with them regarding the war, and their opposition to President Bush ...
... and in my own experience with the anti-war factions, the Leftists I have dealt with almost always have bought into the entire Leftist package, not just the anti-war part ...

Even if they did "lie", that is not the only thing they are doing ... in stark contrast to your own writings, which seem to consist of nothing but calling those who disagree with the Leftist Party Line "liars".
They facilitate the solutions, not by lying, but by supporting the historically-validated approach of this President when it comes to the resolution of conflict involving totalitarian enemies ...
... not talking them to (our) death, not waiting until everyone who might like to see America reduced to the least-common-denominator of international standing be asked "May we?", not leaving them alone until the next 911 happens ...
... but instead decisively confronting these enemies until they either turn from their evil, or are destroyed.
How about you? What are you doing to facilitate the solutions ... or are you just going to continue to call everyone who does not buy into the Leftist lies "LIARS" ... an approach that has taken over your blog like kudzu in a Southern pond.
There are all the answers you are going to get, until you deal with the FUNDAMENTALS, parrot.
Or will it forever be ...
... meatbrain wanna cracker?
"Quit the parsing, parrot."
ReplyDeleteTranslation: Boltbrain is well aware that he has no proof of his accusations, and therefore declares any attempt to extract such proof from him to be 'parsing'. This gives him cover to run away from inconvenient questions.
"Your portrayal of our role in Iraq, in your blog post "Obscenities in our name", is a lie"
BECAUSE! RICH! SAYS! SO!
But not because he can provide proof that what I said is false. He is utterly incapable even of understanding that his accusations require proof.
"It's not about specific statements, Perry Mason."
Rich cannot cite any specific statements I have made that are false, and he cannot provide proof of their falseness. He therefore runs away, pretending that his accusations require no proof at all. Because he is RICH CASEBOLT DAMMIT and everything he says is GOD'S OWN TRUTH!
"You make common cause with them regarding the war, and their opposition to President Bush ..."
Shorter Rich: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! Someone disagrees with me about the war! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! Make the bad man stop having opinions I don't agree with! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!
"Even if they did "lie", that is not the only thing they are doing ... in stark contrast to your own writings, which seem to consist of nothing but calling those who disagree with the Leftist Party Line "liars"."
False. I call people who deliberately spread falsehoods "liars". Both Jim Hoft and Amy Proctor deliberately spread falsehoods. They are, therefore, liars.
You are PWNED, Meatbrain ... and all your bluster won't cover it up.
ReplyDeleteI specifically called out your lie -- the clear implication that the misery in Iraq is totally America's fault, with no mention being made of the DOMINANT role of the Baathists and AQ in targeting civilians ... not as a by-product of attacks upon Americans, but TARGETING them to incite terror and compel obedience.
I provided the quote from YOUR OWN BLOG to back up my assertion.
By your own standards, Meatbrain, you are a liar ... not just because I say so.
And you have yet to refute my assertion that you aren't a total-package Leftist, like so many others I have seen in the anti-war movement.
Let's have some fact-based refutation of that. Show me how you oppose the global warming cult ... the nanny state ... the anything-goes moral relativism that is not just reflected in our hotels, but in the myopia that treats dictator and democrat with the same deference in the halls of international discourse.
Or is all you can do is ... bluster. No fact-based refutation. Just bluster.
Even the Iraqis see through your lie:
[ tribe "al-Ameriki"]
Google it. More and more, they don't believe your opinion of us, either, parrot.
And if all you are doing is exposing liars, sans agenda ...
... then why do I not see, on your blog, your exposure of the lies of Harry Reid ("the war is lost") ...
... or the flip-flops of Barack Obama ("no preconditions" re: meeting with Ahmeidnijad) ...
... or the lies of Jack Murtha and Dick Durbin regarding the bloodthirstiness of our troops -- but oh, excuse me, your blog shows you seem to agree with their viewpoint.
I guess that's why you willingly published the "Obscentites Committed in Our Name Post" -- a story that neither you, nor the blogger you linked to, have traced back to original sources ... a rather questionable story, it seems, as well..
In fact, all I get on a Google search of the two fully-named victims is a list of blogs that repeat this story ... anti-war blogs, and a couple of pro-victory blogs like the one linked above.
Don't you even fact-check yourself before publishing, Meatbrain ... or do you specialize in publishing stories that are "fake but accurate" in your lying eyes?
All the bluster you can muster, can't cover this up. You are truly PWNED this time.

parrot ...
ReplyDeleteI posted my specific answers ... which show how -- even if you didn't say it explicitly -- that America is an enemy of the Iraqi people ... and as such in your lying eyes, should be of greater concern to the world than Saddam, AQ, et. al.
... and have also exposed you as publishing totally un-corroborated, and as far as I can tell FICTIONAL, accounts of American misconduct as fact, to further the above narrative. You apparently learned a lot from watching Dan Rather all those years.
Time for YOU to stop playing inquisitor, and step up to the proof plate, meatbrain ...
... let's see if you can oudo ol' Dan. Maybe you can become his boss on Mark Cuban's backwater cable channel.
My credibility is on a far firmer foundation than yours ... and all the repetitive bluster from you does is show the world what a mindless, duped parrot you are.
I see I have reduced you to mere cut-and-paste repetition of old comments now. Did somebody let the cat into your cage ... looks like he has your tongue.
Oh well ... meatbrain wanna cracker ...
"I posted my specific answers..."
ReplyDeleteYou're lying, Rich. You have answered none of my questions.
"My credibility is on a far firmer foundation than yours..."

ReplyDelete.. still stuck on stupid ... I trust that the readers can figure out who's lying, meatbrain, despite your repetition.
I've already laid the foundation of reason here, and the cut-and-pastes of Hell itself will not prevail against it ... much less your repetitive pathos.
Should we now call you "Dan" ... I think some would "Rather" do so ...
... but frankly, I think you hang out here only because you are jealous of the attention GP gets from Instapundit and others in the blogosphere ... while your own blog is breaking wind, indistinguishable in the breeze off the Leftist cesspool.
... meatbrain wanna cracker?
I now acknowledge, that you have backed up the story of the shootings ... so I will withdraw the "Dan Rather" comparisons.
ReplyDeleteHowever, you still characterize these shootings as illegal and immoral, when they are anything but ... from the Bloomberg article you cite ...
************************************
The U.S. military also said today that two Iraqi women, one of whom may have been pregnant, were shot dead after their car entered a restricted area near a coalition checkpoint. In a separate shooting, a third woman was injured, the U.S. said.
The women who were killed were in a car yesterday that failed to stop after entering the restricted military area in Samarra, ``despite repeated visual and auditory signals,'' the military said in a response to e-mailed questions.
``Disabling shots were fired into the vehicle,'' the military said. ``The vehicle stopped, changed direction, and quickly departed the area. Coalition forces later received reports from the Iraqi police that two females had died from gunshot wounds at the Samarra hospital; and one of the females may have been pregnant.''
`Great Lengths'
The military said the deaths of the two women in Samarra, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of Baghdad, were ``regrettable,'' adding that coalition forces go to ``great lengths'' to avoid such incidents.
"A local national sedan entered a clearly marked prohibited area near coalition troops at an observation post," the military statement said. "As the vehicle neared the troop location and failed to stop despite repeated visual and auditory signals, disabling shots were fired into the vehicle. The vehicle stopped, changed direction, and quickly departed the area."

You mischaracterized this as not an unfortunate accident in war, but as "illegal and immoral" ... therefore, my accusations regarding your subtitution of "truthiness" for truthfullness still stand.
Furthermore, your negligence in not checking your post for the absence of those corroborating links earlier, is indicative a bias-fueled rush to judgment.
And finally, this is all OLD NEWS, from four years ago.
You trying to keep the bad times in our faces, so we won't notice how things have improved in Iraq?
... meatbrain wanna cracker?
Excuse me ... that would be two to four years ago.
ReplyDeleteStill old news.
"I've already laid the foundation of reason here..."
ReplyDeleteFalse. You have made accusations for which you have failed to provide any supporting evidence, and you have lied about what you have said and what I have said.
"You mischaracterized this as not an unfortunate accident in war, but as "illegal and immoral" ..."
I made no such statement. Please continue to lie about what I have said, Rich -- you do a far better job of discrediting yourself than I could ever do.

I'm right here ... but I find discussion with parrots boring.
ReplyDeleteParrots don't think .. they just repeat what their masters say.
Therefore, the very title of your blog is a lie, as well ... for it is an expression of parrotage, not thinking.
I answered all the questions ... and your lying parrotage doesn't change the facts.
So, all I have left to say is ...
meatbrain wanna cracker ...
"I answered all the questions ..."
ReplyDeleteYou're lying, Rich.
You accused me of saying that "the misery in Iraq is totally America's fault". You have cited no statement of mine that supports your claim.
You accused me of "[lying] about the role of America in this world". You have cited no statements of mine that purport to describe America's role in the world, much less tried to demonstrate that those alleged statements were false.
You claim that I "support and perpetuate" come cockamamie view you invented and then attributed to my equally imaginary "allies". You can't even name any specific "allies", much less show that I agree with them.
You refuse to even acknowledge that Amy Proctor and Jim Hoft are proven liars, much less explain how they "facilitate the solutions" by lying to their readers.
You accuse me of "casting America and this President as the enemy". You have cited no statement of mine that supports your claim.
You're a liar, Rich, and it is quite clear that you are lying deliberately. This leads to the inevitable conclusion that you are morally decrepit enough that you simply don't care whether your lying nature is exposed.
But exposed it is. I hope you enjoyed making a very public liar of yourself, Rich. I hope you found it worth the effort.
I leave it to the reader to read what I wrote above, and tell me that I am lying about the parrot.
ReplyDeleteHint to Meatbrain -- you don't have to repeat my accusations word-for-word, in order to be guilty of the accusations I have leveled.
As I have thoroughly shown above, fact and reason validate my conclusion ...
... and your demands that I provide quotes from you that match, word-for-word, my accusations, is a lame attempt to cover up your exposure at my hands (as if you weren't well-known here already as a parrot).
Reasonable men know who the liar is ... so the only question left is ...
meatbrain wanna cracker ...
"...and your demands that I provide quotes from you that match, word-for-word, my accusations..."
ReplyDeleteThanks for the additional lie, Rich. I've made no such demands, but of course, the only response you are capable of when challenged is to pile lie atop lie.
Please do continue lying, Rich. Nothing discredits you so effectively as your own intellectual cowardice and dishonesty.
Strain strain strain ... strain those gnats
ReplyDeleteAnd fling 'em out like monkey poo from wherever you're at
As you swallow camels of destruction until your belly's fat
Strain strain strain ... strain those gnats
Intellectual cowardice?
Corroded cast-iron pot, meet shiny copper kettle.
Meatbrain, you embody intellectual cowardace and dishonesty ... by parsing words instead of dealing with the FUNDAMENTAL issues.
And you can't deny it, for your words here illustrate it so well.
meatbrain wanna cracker ...
When did I demand that you "provide quotes from [myself] that match, word-for-word, [your] accusations", Rich?
ReplyDeleteShow us the comment in which I made that demand, Rich.
C'mon, Rich -- you're such an honest guy, surely you couldn't have made up my supposed demand out of thin air, could you?
Rich?
Rich?
