The media has the serious hots for the Messiah and this year they will not let any bit of God d*mn truth get in the way of pushing their own personal Jesus through the front doors of the White House in '09.
Look out Republicans and John McCain- It's on!

(Image from Watching America)
The media onslaught against the Republicans and John McCain is officially on its way.
Today's Newsweek article combines both the media's deep hatred of Republicans and love for Messiah in one piece:
While Clinton veered between playing Queen Elizabeth I and Norma Rae, Obama and his team chugged along with a superior 50-state campaign strategy, racking up the delegates. If the candidate seemed weary and peevish or a little slow to respond at times, he never lost his cool. But the real test is yet to come. The Republican Party has been successfully scaring voters since 1968, when Richard Nixon built a Silent Majority out of lower- and middle-class folks frightened or disturbed by hippies and student radicals and blacks rioting in the inner cities. The 2008 race may turn on which party will win the lower- and middle-class whites in industrial and border states—the Democrats' base from the New Deal to the 1960s, but "Reagan Democrats" in most presidential elections since then. It is a sure bet that the GOP will try to paint Obama as "the other"—as a haughty black intellectual who has Muslim roots (Obama is a Christian) and hangs around with America-haters.Here's some news for Newsweek--
Republicans don't have to "paint" anything-- Obama's done a fine job all by himself.
(Top left clockwise) Barack and Michelle Obama and radical Leftist anti-Israel Professor Edward Said at a May 1998 Arab community event in Chicago at which Edward Said gave the keynote speech. (Bill Baar's West Side), Former PLO operative and close friend of the Obama's Rashid Khalidi, Barack Obama and his racist minister Jeremiah Wright, and terrorist friend William Ayers.
To think that Republicans have to do more than lift a brush to paint Obama as "the other" guy who likes hanging around with America-haters is ridiculous.
The truth speak for itself.
STACLU provides of few examples of Democratic scare tactics that are more recent than 1968.
MacRanger calls the piece a journalistic ménage à trois.

Carl Davidson from Progressives for Obama goes back a long way with Obama. Last year Davidson wrote of Obama as a triangulator par excellence on a Marxist listserv.
ReplyDeleteThere is the Obama you read, the Obama you hear, and the Obama who votes and they're all different.
Carl nailed the real Obama and his post worth reading.

Thanks for the Baar link. Am using it as a blogpiece.

Well I guess it was time again for Wolfe and Thomas to prove what a pair of pathetic amateurs they are…
I guess the, “Dan Rather lesson” was lost on these two geniuses…

DNC sponsorships raise questions on motivations
Everything is for sale, and this summer's Democratic National Convention in Denver is no exception.
More than four dozen national corporations have signed up as sponsors of the convention - everyone from Allstate to Xerox. And almost all of them have the same thing in common: They either have business with the federal government or they lobby on pending issues.
And that prompts a myriad of questions.
Are the big companies simply being good corporate citizens? Or are they looking for access - maybe not to the presidential nominee, but to members of Congress and party officials who can help make sure their issues get heard?
The answer is simple, said former Denver City Councilwoman Susan Barnes-Gelt: "It's always about access."... (there's more)
Newsweek is just upset that they already know that despite the best efforts of the MSM they will not be able to get their Obamamessiah elected.
ReplyDeleteThey simply do not understand why we are all not buying into the Obamamessiah. After all, we are just a bunch of "uneducated unwashed rabble" who (in their minds) should be easily fooled.
Memo to Newsweek:
1. We are not as stupid as you think we are.
2. The MSM are no longer the gatekeepers of information.
3. I hate to break it to you but you really need to realize that it is 2008, not 1968. No one really gives a damn what the pundits and poobahs in New York, Los Angeles and Washington think anymore. They have lived in an echo chamber of their own making for so long that they know nothing about this country or it's inhabitants.
In fact New York and Los Angeles are dying cities-cities killed by decades of Democratic party control at the city and state levels. The demographics are against them. Their future it to look like Detroit. In the 2010 census Chicago will become the 4th largest city and be increasingly irrelevant, it's position in the minds of the world has already been taken by Houston as witenssed by the following quote.
An indicator of Houston’s international reach: it now ranks third among U.S. cities, behind Los Angeles and New York, in the number of consulates located there.
Here are two very interesting articles that I found that you might also find interesting.
ReplyDeleteObama and small town America
Yet Obama's problems are not new for the modern Democratic Party. Rarely in recent years has it nominated a candidate with much small-town appeal. Since the current primary-dominated era of presidential politics began almost 40 years ago, the Democrats have selected only one candidate capable of winning a majority of the nation's 3,100 or so counties -- Jimmy Carter in 1976. And only one other Democratic nominee since then has even come close to carrying a majority of counties, Bill Clinton in 1992 and 1996.
The Democratic end game.
One of the basic themes of the long-running Democratic nominating campaign between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton speaks to the need for a new era in American politics. But increasingly it seems as though their race could be decided by a method quite old--a decision by the convention credentials committee that is voted up or down on the convention floor.
Why is that? Because the Clinton-Obama battle could very well be decided by the fate of Florida and Michigan, two states currently denied representation because they violated party rules by holding January primaries. Clinton won the unsanctioned events but thus far that has settled nothing. Virtually everyone agrees that delegates from the two states, both vitally important to the Democrats in the fall, should be seated. But "how" is the rub. The candidates cannot agree, nor can party leaders find common ground for a solution.
Hence, the growing specter of the credentials committee. It is the court of last resort in the nominating process, the place where politics is at its rawest and the stakes are the highest, because which candidate's delegates are seated on the convention floor often determines who wins and who loses.
In the fight for power, the credentials committee is a place where niceties are stripped aside, and a watching TV audience would see not smiles, but fangs. Nor would the infighting end there, because the losing side could file a minority report and send the issue on to the convention floor for final resolution. In short, it would be a viewer's delight, but a nightmare for image-conscious Democratic leaders. And put in parlance long outdated, it would be a blast from the past.
GP,
ReplyDelete(1) Today's Newsweek article combines both the media's deep hatred of Republicans and love for Messiah ...
Seriously? I thought you didn't care for those who play the victim. Or is this a vast conspiracy in which elites seek to undermine the little guy? I can read this kinda stuff at a far left blog.
(2) Former PLO operative and close friend of the Obama's Rashid Khalidi, Barack Obama and his racist minister Jeremiah Wright, and terrorist friend William Ayers.
Don't these types of posts start to get old, especially in light of the blatant guilt-by-association flaws. Can't we employ the same type of weak reasoning to John McCain even though he's a Republican? If so, then he must be a money grubbing lobbyist rancher.
If he is nominated, the Big 0* will either look like McGovern or Carter, depending on the outcome of the election.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do my dangdest to make sure he looks like McGovern ... for I don't want my grandkids to relive the Carter years.
Never forget the common thread that has sewn most of the Big 0's support base together ... from the nutroots to the SF snobs to the Liberation Theologians ... to Ted Kennedy ... to George Soros.
They all believe that America is uppity ... and must be put in her place ... even if the life and liberty of BILLIONS are placed at risk, if not six-feet-under, to do so.
Not if I have anything to say about it ... for I have lived that history, particularly between 20 Jan 1977 and 20 Jan 1981 ...
... and I won't get fooled again ...

ReplyDelete"...2. The MSM are no longer the gatekeepers of information..."
ReplyDeleteYeah, the fact that the MSM is more ineffectual than ever has really got to piss them off. Well, that, and the fact that all leftist paper media, (which is then parroted on MSM T.V.) is dying before our eyes.
There are 2 reasons for this, the first being the internet, which is a bastion of information. I suspect O'Bama will figure out a way to tax the internet when he get's elected.
The second reason is conservative talk radio, which didn't become possible until Reagan repealed the "Fairness Doctrine" which allowed talk radio to flourish. I suspect Barack will re-enact that leftist legislation once he gets in office, seeing as he already talked about it.
The leftist dem's, I'm sure have plans to derail any spreading of useful information once they completely control all aspects of government by the beginning of 09'.
Its already on the far-left's mind...
"...Media Matters for America announced a campaign to reimpose the Fairness Doctrine as early as October 2004.
Senator and Presidential candidate Barack Obama has written that he will "clarify the public interest obligations of broadcasters who occupy the nation’s spectrum."..."

I'm guessing Canadian Tar Heel has a hard time, a real hard time learning to get a grip on reality...
ReplyDeleteThen again what would one expect of someone who thinks the empty suit has given a Remarkable Speech?... ROFLMAO!
Then Canadian Tar Heel still hasn't figured it out: "Don't these types of posts start to get old, especially in light of the blatant guilt-by-association flaws"...
Well only the thoroughly clueless don't understand that people are judged by the company they keep or that the people they call friends and acquaitances is a reflection on their judgement...
So now you have a problem with McCain taking a page out of
Harry 'the fairy' Reid's playbook? Why is that?
Yet if you are really interested about sleazy financial goings on you should've done a little more homework but being a true blue libtard the thought obviously never crossed your mind...
Truly sad...

ReplyDelete"...Barack Obama's speech on race earlier this week stands out as nothing short of remarkable..."
Well, I guess that depends on what he meant by "remarkable".
A remarkable showing of an empty speech totally driven by politcal flak he was receiving?
Sure.
Remarkable that a person could thrown their own flesh and blood under the bus while covering for a truly hateful racist?
(only to be sold out by the racist he protected not a month later)
Yup.
Remarkable that he said so much and at the same time so very little?
Agreed.
I concure, it was in fact a "remarkable" speech.

The democrats shouldn't have anything to worry about, if there is no information about Obama that could scare people.
ReplyDeleteWell, the democrats know the information about Obama is bad and will make people very leery about voting for him in the general election, so they are starting the battle on their own terms and making accusations that the Republicans are going to try and paint Obama as someone to fear. This tactic is to try and put the Republicans on the defensive, but they forget, McCain has been on the offensive most of his life as a true God-fearing American, and I doubt he is going to change playing fields now.
If any conservative still buys Newsweek or TIME they ought to be taken out back and pistol whipped"
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to do something about the arrangement Time and Newsweek have with American colleges. Freshmen are "given" a 6-12 month free subscription to either magazine. Afterwards, the typical auto-renewal kicks in and changes a fee.
The point-- Why do many students receive this free introduction to magazines publishing the month DNC talking points? Meanwhile, student never receive a free subscription to the National Review or something similar. Our tax dollars and tuition payments fund this left wing bullhorn; organized by the usual suspects at the university administration level. This distribution of propaganda creates yet another inroad into radicalizing American students.
Is there any serious route for changing this problem?

one more note to above complaint about colleges handing out Time--
ReplyDeleteOne example of this deal occurs in universities and colleges in Mitch McConnell's home state. (R-minority leader senate)
"It is a sure bet that the GOP will try to paint Obama as "the other"—as a haughty black intellectual"
ReplyDeleteI doubt that Republicans or many other people are going to mistake Obama for an intellectual, even if he does figure out how many states there are.

Maybe you could clarify for a fellow Canadian: how exactly is pointing out the glaringly obvious point that Newsweek's editors leans so far to the left that their right ears fill up when it rains playing victim? It seems to me that the Republicans and conservatives (nor GP) are not blaming their failings on Newsweek, Newsweek is blaming their favorite party's losses on them.
Apparently, some folks have tremendous difficulty in staying on topic, as in the post above. Did you know that Obama's left big toe is bigger than his right?
ReplyDeleteBarak Obama is his own worst enemy, his wife is his second worst enemy.
ReplyDeleteI did some Electoral College wargaming today. The trends I have been observing for the last 60 days are still there, they have not changed even with the MSM and the Obamaniacs declaring Hillary done.
These trends spell disaster for the Democrats. They are going to have to spend alot of time and money in keeping states that previously they have not really had to worry. There is only one state that they are going to "pick up" if trends hold and that is Iowa but they stand to lose Michigan, New Hampshire, Wisconsin.
If the current trends continue the Democrats might even see California in play. Obama's numbers have dropped like a rock there and the numbers are getting close to the margin of error on the polls. If they get to margin of error there will be the stench of befouled trousers at the DNC.
My previous predictions stand.
McCain wins with 299-322 electoral votes and about 49-52% of the popular vote.
Newsweek should give the Obamassiah more credit. He has a 57-state strategy.
