Obama: "We Should Find the Areas of Common Interest With Iran"

Barack Obama thinks we just need to find some areas of common interest with Iran.
Then everything would be OK.

Barack Obama believes we just have to be "bold enough" to listen to Iran.

We just need to find the things we have in common:

"We shouldn't be... You know, Iran they spend one one-hundreth of what we spend on the military. I mean if Iran tried to pose a serious threat to us, they wouldn't stand a chance. And we should use that position of strength that we have to be bold enough to go ahead and listen. That doesn't mean we agree with them on everything. That doesn't, we might not compromise with them on any issues. But, at least we should find out are there areas of potential common interest and we can reduce some of the tension that have caused us so many problems around the world."

That's it.

We just need to find that common interest with Iran.

This comes from a man whose church openly supports Hamas and Hezbollah.

UPDATE: John McCain responded brilliantly to Obama's wackiness today:

"Senator Obama claimed that the threat Iran poses to our security is “tiny” compared to the threat once posed by the former Soviet Union. Obviously, Iran isn’t a superpower and doesn’t possess the military power the Soviet Union had. But that does not mean that the threat posed by Iran is insignificant. UPDATE 2: Obama pulls a switcharoo- Iran became a grave threat today, via Ace:

"Iran is a grave threat. It has an illicit nuclear program. It supports terrorism across the region and militias in Iraq. It threatens Israel's existence. It denies the Holocaust," he said. "The reason Iran is so much more powerful than it was a few years ago is because of the Bush-McCain policy of fighting in Iraq and refusing to pursue direct diplomacy with Iran. They're the ones who have not dealt with Iran wisely."
