Then everything would be OK.

Barack Obama believes we just have to be "bold enough" to listen to Iran.
Obama says we need find out areas of potential common interest(?)
We just need to find the things we have in common:
From Obama's Oregon rally this past weekend:
"We shouldn't be... You know, Iran they spend one one-hundreth of what we spend on the military. I mean if Iran tried to pose a serious threat to us, they wouldn't stand a chance. And we should use that position of strength that we have to be bold enough to go ahead and listen. That doesn't mean we agree with them on everything. That doesn't, we might not compromise with them on any issues. But, at least we should find out are there areas of potential common interest and we can reduce some of the tension that have caused us so many problems around the world."That's it.

We just need to find that common interest with Iran.
This comes from a man whose church openly supports Hamas and Hezbollah.
UPDATE: John McCain responded brilliantly to Obama's wackiness today:
"Senator Obama claimed that the threat Iran poses to our security is “tiny” compared to the threat once posed by the former Soviet Union. Obviously, Iran isn’t a superpower and doesn’t possess the military power the Soviet Union had. But that does not mean that the threat posed by Iran is insignificant. On the contrary, right now Iran provides some of the deadliest explosive devices used in Iraq to kill our soldiers. They are the chief sponsor of Shia extremists in Iraq, and terrorist organizations in the Middle East. And their President, who has called Israel a “stinking corpse,” has repeatedly made clear his government’s commitment to Israel’s destruction. Most worrying, Iran is intent on acquiring nuclear weapons. The biggest national security challenge the United States currently faces is keeping nuclear material out of the hands of terrorists. Should Iran acquire nuclear weapons, that danger would become very dire, indeed. They might not be a superpower, but the threat the Government of Iran poses is anything but ‘tiny'."UPDATE 2: Obama pulls a switcharoo- Iran became a grave threat today, via Ace:
"Iran is a grave threat. It has an illicit nuclear program. It supports terrorism across the region and militias in Iraq. It threatens Israel's existence. It denies the Holocaust," he said. "The reason Iran is so much more powerful than it was a few years ago is because of the Bush-McCain policy of fighting in Iraq and refusing to pursue direct diplomacy with Iran. They're the ones who have not dealt with Iran wisely."UPDATE 3: Jules Crittenden- "Dances With Mullahs"
common areas of interest w Iran.
ReplyDeleteIran wants Israel turned to rubble by 2010. compromise: 2015.
Iran wants Hezbollah running Lebanon NOW. Compromise: 2010.
Iran wants US destroyed by 2102. Compromise: 2020.
Common ground found by compromise.
Apparently Obama hasn't spent much time reading up on Iran. Maybe Iran is one of the 57 states near Kentucky.
Of course as a good Moslem Obama wants "peace" and "compromise" with Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, Al Qaida and the rest of the Islamofascists.
ReplyDeleteObama wants the same "peace" that Amahdinejad wants-the "peace" that comes when all of us infidels are dead.
Obama wants the same "compromise" that Amahdinejad wants-the "compromise" of the west submitting to Islam and the Sharia.
And most importantly the "common ground" he seeks is the same as Amadhinejad-the "common ground" of the scorched, irradiated earth of the United States and Israel.
Obama's statements over the last few weeks have served to illustrate that Obama is a dangerous demagogue masquerading as a "Christian" and an "American".
There really is not much difference between him and Amadhinejad.
We've been raping Iran for over a century, and England has also for even longer.
ReplyDeleteWe've never bothered to talk with them before, why should we now? I mean, what does talking with people accomplish that bashing them over the skull doesn't do to better affect? Forget the whole lead-by-example ordeal, let's keep with the do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do strategy. Damned appeasers.
lol. Hate to say it, but they hate us for a reason...good reasons. It's kinda like hitting someone then getting angry about them wanting to hit you back. Accept the things we've done are MUCH worse than a slap to the face...
and if you find what I say confusing, try reading some history.
Get a clue, folks.
We DO read history.
ReplyDeleteYou, apparently, reach chomsky and (ward) churchill.
Meanwhile back in America, Sen Chuck Schumer is raising a ton for cash on behalf of the political party which defends those enemies determined to destroy Israel.
ReplyDeleteYou know, the Democrat Party, Chomsky's peoples.
LIBTARD ALERT!
ReplyDelete"We've been raping Iran for over a century, and England has also for even longer"...
Gee mikeb, what history have you been reading? History for the delusional and those with a tenuous grip on reality?
Common interest - the U.S. and Iran both bleed, or should I say, something in common - that is about it. It has more to do with Iran's ruling mullahs, president, and stoogies that carry out their commands, not the people of Iran, who more than likely want their leaders to bite the bullet and bleed alot.
ReplyDeleteIran's leaders will only understand a smackdown, nothing else. Talking to Iran will be perceived to be a weakness, and Iran will use it to their advantage to manipulate the U.S. into a false sense of security. Obama is already a sympathizer, just imagine how easy it would be to manipulate his already weak mind.
mikeb - perhaps you should get a clue yourself, as it is obvious, like most democrats, you don't give a rat's a** about the Iranian people and the oppressive regime they live under - gee, reminds me of how the democrats feel about the Iraqis - cut and run, who cares about the death and mayhem that follows.
"..We've been raping Iran for over a century.."
ReplyDeleteWas that before or after the Ayatollah took over? I know he got raped pretty bad in France.
"..We've never bothered to talk with them before.."
Don't you remember Jimmy "dhimmi" Carter talking to them for over a year after they stormed our embassy and held hostages? Worked out for us.
"..they hate us for a reason...good reasons.."
Right, the U.S. allowing the Shah to get over-thrown and them then imposing their wonderful islamic state, they hate us for that. It has nothing to do with ideology, nope, thats all "republican scare tactics" right?
Yes, lets speak with the sane one Ahmadinajed who has said "israel will vanish from the pages of time" and that the U.S. is the "great satan". I'm with mikeb, were dealing with a sane nation here, lets appease them, that tactic always works.
Some one here has mentioned America and Britain having raped Iran for over 100 years. As an Iranian speaking on behalf of myself, my family, relatives and friend and those who support me, we Iranians are being ripped raped by the Mullahs and have been so for over 1400 years. Frankly, I enjoyed being raped by the Americans, It was not so painful. I tell you, It really hurts being rip raped by medieval barbarians who don't know how to rape. The are ripping us apart. Extremely painful so much so that sometimes I think to myself: 'what the hell, let the Mullahs defeat the Americans so that they can taste what we Iranians have tasted for the last 30 years'. But my humanitarian side gets the better of me and urges me on to warn you that this is a rapist that will rip rape you apart and it will be very painful.

ReplyDeleteone thing is for certain.. Obama can speechify his "out of context" appeasement policies better than the mythical Sirens of yore..
unfortunately those enchanted by his orations obviously haven't a clue about US having been talking to Iran's "one way diplomatic dialogue street" Ayatollah's for decades either..
do they truly believe the Iranian President is in charge?? do they not understand that Amadjerkoff, like Obama, is an empty suit puppet??

oh i totally agree..

[We have a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization... we must make use of everything we have at hand to strike at this front by means of our suicide operations or by means of our missiles. There are 29 sensitive sites in the U.S. and in the West. We have already spied on these sites and we know how we are going to attack them.]
can you hear them now Obama??

ReplyDelete9/11 could have been avoided if only
Obama could have talked to Osama..
now that's what i call audacity..

McCain needs to recognize one important factor when he challenges "osama" obama on the statement that the threat posed by Iran is "tiny". McCain must recognize that to one who's entire life is based upon fraud, all threats are called "tiny". It is much easier to lead the myopic when they are told that a threat is tiny. If it is tiny, the populace has no real interest in understanding the threat. Thus, "osama" obama trots along with the MSM, spewing the same lies, oops, lines, well, heck, tell it like it is, LIES. The purpose of the MSM for the past several decades has been one of twisting and distorting the facts, omitting facts that are contradictory to their chosen agenda, and spewing LIES when it suits their purpose. "osama" obama fits in well, as he has proven time and again, that he will follow this same pattern. Tell the same lie often enough, and after a while, the people, those too lazy or unconcerned to study the facts, will begin to believe the lie.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Iran is mad at us because we have "raped" them so let's talk and ask their forgiveness and all will be right with things.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, the real oppressors who behead, hang, mutilate, etc in the name of their religion that pre-dates the existence of the United States, will live their lives in the fashion to which they have grown accustomed and seek to forcefully rape us infidels with that wonderful way of life.
While you, MikeB will sleep soundly knowing that the evil United States has been contained.
Read a little further back in history Mike and you will see that the Muslims "raped" the world when they could as well and no amount of self-blaming liberalism will make them want to stop seeking their next opportunity to do it again.

Iran's Nuclear Threat
excerpt:
[With war in Iraq looming and North Korea defiantly pursuing its own nuclear program, the last thing President Bush needs is another nuclear crisis. But that is what he may soon face in Iran. On a visit last month to Tehran, International Atomic Energy Agency director Mohamed ElBaradei announced he had discovered that Iran was constructing a facility to enrich uranium — a key component of advanced nuclear weapons — near Natanz. But diplomatic sources tell TIME the plant is much further along than previously revealed. The sources say work on the plant is "extremely advanced" and involves "hundreds" of gas centrifuges ready to produce enriched uranium and "the parts for a thousand others ready to be assembled."]
flashforward to 3/03/08..
UN votes to add sanctions against Iran
excerpt:
[The Security Council on Monday adopted its third resolution imposing sanctions on Iran for its refusal to cease enriching uranium, an activity that Western nations believe is designed to build nuclear weapons.
The previous two measures gained unanimous support of the 15-member panel, but in the Monday balloting, Indonesia abstained, saying it "remained to be convinced of the efficacy of adopting additional sanctions at this juncture." Fourteen countries voted in favor.
[snip]
In Vienna on Monday, Mohamed ElBaradei, the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said that newly disclosed intelligence reports that Iran secretly researched how to make nuclear weapons were of "serious concern" and would be pursued by his office.
"Iran continues to maintain that these alleged weaponization studies related to conventional weapons only are fabricated," ElBaradei said in a speech to the agency's 35-country policy-making body. "However, a full-fledged examination of this issue has yet to take place."]
"tiny".. just words??
btw: Iran Continue Military Nuclear Activities: Le Monde
ps: i suppose Obama would call this trivial, er, "tiny" too..
Iran violated UN resolution
and i would not disagree per se.. however, perhaps Obama should stop viewing "tiny" threats as individual trees in order to collectively see the "huge" forest he's obviously been looking through..

Gee, I wonder what Obama would make of the following?
ReplyDeleteAccording to CNSNews.com: 'Indict Ahmadinejad for Inciting Genocide'...
'The Australian government says it is taking legal advice on whether a case could be brought against the Iranian president before the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd in a television interview called Ahmadinejad's statements "appalling by any standards of current international relations" and "an incitement to international violence."'...
I'm sure Obama can spin this somehow...
Behold mikeb, a fascinating example of one who no doubt fancies themselves politically aware, well-read, progressive, etc.
ReplyDeleteThank you for presenting a perfect example of what passes for historically-informed opinion of world affairs as crafted by a member of the "dissenting" class. The use of crass, melodramatic metaphors like "raping" to ensure that the outrage of the opinion-holder is well-noted. How better to mask the completely vapid, inaccurate, and juvenile froth that forms the alleged argument of the position taken. A true credit no doubt to a highly regarded and likely overpriced educational experience. Why do people who bring so little of substance or persuasive rhetoric cry so foul when they find themselves consistently shut off from the reins of power?

ReplyDeleteI think you have hit on what Obama and the Mullahs have in common, as it agrees totally with what his pastor was preaching to him for the last 20 years.
