This Ought To Make Michelle Proud-- Obama Bags the Kleagle

Well, if this doesn't make the Mrs. proud, nothing will.
"Sheets" Byrd endorses Obama.

The Former KKK recruiter endorsed Obama today calling the junior senator from Illinois "a noble-hearted patriot and humble Christian."
...He is a churchgoing man after all.

The Chicago-Sun Times, via LGF Quick Links, reported:
Sen. Robert C. Byrd, a former member of the Ku Klux Klan and a one-time opponent of civil rights legislation, is endorsing Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Obama is vying to be the nation’s first black president.

The West Virginia senator says Obama has the qualities to end the Iraq war.
West Virgina went overwhelmingly for Clinton last week in the primary.

  1. He did it to save his Senate seat and his committee appointments.

Don't you remember a couple of months ago the Democrats were saying he was "too old and sick" and were threatening to take away his committee appointments and suggesting he retire?

  2. Well now, this is interesting...

Gee, I wonder how many of Hussein the Inane's black supporters know or believe that Byrd had such a 'colorful' past?

Or did the government invent that libelous past for Byrd like they invented the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color?

Michael Weiss penned the following: Obama’s Iraq Minefield...

I wonder if this Byrd endorsement could be another one of those mines in a field full of them for Obama?

nahanni says: "He did it to save his Senate seat and his committee appointments"...

Yes indeed, I do remember that...

Byrd had the look of someone needing a dire change of underware after that little episode...

  5. And don't forget how Hillary praised Senator Byrd in her victory speech after W. Virginia.

A clearer recording of what Byrd says has accidentally emerged. When played backwards it reveals that his actual words describing Obama were't, "a noble-hearted patriot and humble Christian.", but instead, "a nappy-headed pansy and huntable critter." Personally, I think they were made for each other.

    Byrd is a bi-racial racist.. :D

btw: albeit i don't believe he penned it, i liked his apologetic follow up.. which as irony would have it, describes Rev Wright to a T, go figure..
