On April 8, 2008 two dozen Illinois members of "Vets For Freedom" a nonpartisan group of combat veterans dedicated to educating the American public on the importance of achieving success in Afghanistan and Iraq, went to Barack Obama's Senate office. Senator Obama was unwilling to meet with them. He was in his office, just wouldn't come out.
Yesterday, General Petraeus was back on Capitol Hill to testify before Congress. Senator Barack Obama was there too, but not for long. He stayed in the committee meeting long enough to ask one question, before ducking out to head back to the campaign trail.
Today Vets For Freedom released a new ad asking:
"Senator Obama, if you are so willing to meet with Iran, why won't you meet with our troops?"
Sergeant Anderson in this internet ad was one of the 12 veterans denied a meeting with Senator Obama. And like his fellow veterans, Sergeant Anderson would like to ask Senator Obama a few questions: Why hasn't he met with General Petraeus? And why won't he visit Iraq? And why would Senator Obama rather talk about meeting—unconditionally—with Iran, instead of meeting with veterans and commanders? America deserves to know.

ReplyDeleteI would ask how is it possible any American can trust, not just Obama, but a single Democrat politician on anything?
The fact remains Democrats will still have majority despite the fact that they are, in their own words, 'stretching the truth'.
Please, independent voters, explain how you can support any Democrat politician when all they have done is sabotage just about everything in order to gain power.

that video is so damning to any sane person right now with China, Russia, Pakistan, Iran all testing their delivery systems. I was thinking of it earlier. He'd cut our forces, technology, long term defense, missile defense so low that Cuba could invade.

Sources familiar with the situation said the Bush-McCain event was not selling enough tickets to fill the Convention Center space, and that there were concerns about more anti-war protesters showing up outside the venue than attending the fundraiser inside."

ReplyDeleteHey, I'm a libertarian, which means, at this point, that it's rare for me to vote for a Dem for as lowly a job as dogcatcher (I tend to vote for centrist candidates, and The Left hasn't put up a centrist in two decades and more), BUUUUUT:
How can you trust the GOP politicians after a quick re-reading of The Contract With America and an analysis of which ones they attempted to follow through on -- much less actually did follow through on.
Remember Term Limits?
Fixing Social Security?
Shrinking the Federal Government?
