Obviously, Senator Obama thought he was included in this "appeaser" category:
"George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the president's extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel."This is not the first time that Barack Obama lashed out, not at the terrorists, but at those who question his security positions...
He lashed out on April 25, 2007--
The top two Democratic presidential contenders rebuked Republican rival Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday for suggesting the United States could face another major terrorist attack if a Democrat is elected in 2008.And, on December 28, 2007--
"Rudy Giuliani today has taken the politics of fear to a new low and I believe Americans are ready to reject those kind of politics,"
Mr Obama gave the most powerful speech of his campaign, urging the crowd to reject the Clintons’ politics of cynicism and fear in what his campaign calls his “closing argument”.On April 21, 2008--
The 30-second broadcast does not mention Obama by name, but the Illinois senator’s spokesman Bill Burton fired off a robust response and brought up Clinton’s vote in 2002 to authorize the Iraq war, which his boss opposed. On March 30, 2008--
“It’s ironic that she would borrow the president’s tactics in her own campaign and invoke bin Laden to score political points,” Burton said.
“We already have a president who plays the politics of fear, and we don’t need another,” he said.
"We need to break the politics of fear that uses 9/11 to scare up votes."And, that is just the short list.
But, where did Obama get this catch phrase?
The phrase "politics of fear" is actually an old Marxist phrase used during the Cold War.
The New York Sun reported this back in January:
The phrase, "politics of fear," reemerged from the dustbin of anti-anti-communism on far left Web sites like Alternet in late 2002. In the Cold War, it was employed to deride public school air raid drills, the House's un-American Activities Committee, and Ronald Reagan's anti-red campaigns. Since the end of the Cold War, the phrase has been resurrected by politicians and pundits alike to say the electorate ought to fear the people trying to scare us, not these terrorists and tyrants they keep going on about.Surprised?... Didn't think so.
Uh, Jim... maybe he uses the phrase because he is a Marxist?
ReplyDeleteOr, maybe, just maybe, a Liberal Fascist?
What is global warming hysteria but the politics of fear? The left has no problem terrorizing schoolchildren with Al Gore's propaganda but they deride fighting Islamofascism as "the politics of fear."
ReplyDeleteGreat point.
ReplyDeleteIt's only "the politics of fear" when it's an actual enemy.
We do not fear Obama. In fact, he is the man we have been waiting for.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Iran, Syria, Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, Chavez, Moore, Kos, DU etc etc etc.
As an outside observer, I would argue that Obama is on the money on this one. The Republicans have a long and sordid history of trying to scare the American public into voting for them. Bush and Cheney did it in '04. Giuiliani did it all through the primary campaign with his frequent referrals to 911. And now McCan will start doing it to Obama. It is clear that Republicans don't want to campaign on the issues, because after 8 years of failed conservatism, a failing economy, and failing infrastructure, Americans want - and need - change. And who can blame them?
ReplyDeleteanonymy 3:20,
ReplyDeleteDon't be silly. None of us fear the terrorist. Fear is the wrong word. It is propaganda. Detest is a better word. We detest Obama and his Jimmy Carter style act in the Middle East. This is not the time for retreat and defeat by an Democrat candidate like Obama who is supported by our enemy.
We are at war to win, not lose. To free Iraqis and Afghanis not lose to al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Iran, Syria.
We detest appeasement like when Jimmy Carter handed Iran over to the current zealots that fund, weaponize and train terrorist and suicide bombers from Hezbollah to Hamas and in Iraq. Or the bombers in Argentina.
We detest that todays far left liberals have no backbone at all and have deserted the original meaning of the word liberal.
There was JFK who once stood proud against Communism, now there is KFKLU - Kiss for Komrades Like Us Obama. Who welcomes Communist all around him. JFK would puke seeing his family scurry around to this communist supporting candidate.
As in Chavez, FARC terrorist and drug pushers who love Obama.
The latest democrat argument and strawman is simply to distract from the truth. That they have no real answer and cannot fathom an enemy is real. They live in some fantasy land.
I detest the uninformed idiocy that has taken over the democrat party. A party that accepts everything from Commie mentors like Frank Davis and William Ayers to Nation of Islam hater Farrakhan as friends to their leading democrat candidate. It is sickening to see such far left, socialist, communist style hatred bubble to the surface out of Chicago into our nations elections.
I detest that the hatred and divisivness created by "rev" Wright and Obama will distract from the true issues this nation faces. He is the worst possible candidate this nation could ever elect during a time of war.
He himself represents fear and cowardice, appeasement and acceptance of defeat. The people who follow him are willing losers, plus worse.
They are willing to turn their backs on 25 million people in Iraq and allow Iran and Syria, Al Qaeda and Sadr militias to come in and rule again by hate and by force.
Obama is a leader of losers. The worst kind of leaders in our nation who represent spoiled children, whining, complaining and begging for Nanny Gov to provide their adult diapers for them.
Here is a great line by White House Press Secretary Dana Perino:
ReplyDelete"MS. PERINO: It is not. And I would think that all of you who cover these issues and have for a long time have known that there are many who have suggested these types of negotiations with people that President Bush thinks we should not talk to. I understand when you're running for office you sometimes think the world revolves around you -- that is not always true and it is not true in this case."
Ha! WTG Dana! That was good "sweetie" Ha!
For more press gaggle fireback from King David Hotel in Jerusalem; see Dana's remarks:

Obama false messiah, pawned! LOL, some people do not worship at his feet, aaawwww.
Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing you forgot about the Dem's animated ad showing President Bush pushing a senior citizen in a wheel chair off a cliff. Let's talk about the politics of fear as it relates to the DNC's perpetual social security scare. Don't get me started...
Well, messed up that link and comment. Dana was responding to Press question. I accidently pushed publish.

ReplyDeletere; "Why Must Obama Use a Marxist Catch Phrase To Attack His Critics?"
oh that's easy, because Obama is a Marxist..
his Father was a Marxist..
his Mother was a Marxist..
his political advisor & mentoring
pastor Wright is a Marxist..
his friend, ex-co-worker, fundraiser &
neighbor Ayers (& wife) is a Marxist..
there's tons more on Obama, not to mention his "acquaitences" connections.. then there's Rezko, Auchi, Khalidi, Alsamarae, Odinga, Davis, Brezinski, Soros, etc, etc, etc..
oh yeah..
Obama favors an unholy alliance
between Marxism and Islam
excerpt:
["I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds change in an ugly direction".]
and lest not forget the New Black Panther Party..
oh, there's so much more, but i digress..

War is the health of the state, and unfortunately, the politics of fear are extremely effective. The ultimate use of fear in politics today is unquestionably global warming, demanding extreme measures to address something that will never be a serious problem.
ReplyDeleteFrom:http://chinaconfidential.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteLeft/liberal mainstream media refuse to investigate the troubling ties between America's first Muslim-born Presidential candidate, Barack Obama, and Kenya's Prime Minister Raila Odinga, whom the Democratic White House hopeful supports.
Odinga, who recently lost Kenya's Presidential election, wants to institute barbaric Islamic Sharia law across Kenya. Most of Odinga's fanatical followers are Islamists. In addition to pushing for Sharia, they have pushed for the total banning of other religions and the closing of co-ed schools and night clubs and ending public styles of dress considered immoral.
Odinga was educated in former Soviet controlled East Germany.
He claims to be Obama’s first cousin.
In 2006, Obama voiced support for Odinga during a visit to Kenya.
According to Islamic religious law, Obama was born a Muslim. Barack Hussein Obama Sr., was a Muslim from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya.
The Presidential candidate's stepfather was a Muslim from Indonesia.
Obama attended the Muslim Basuki School and a Catholic school in Indonesia, and his religion was registered as Muslim in both schools.

'The Republicans have a long and sordid history of trying to scare the American public into voting for them.'
ReplyDeleteSee, stupid stuff like this is the reason why shortly after 9/11/2001 I left 'brain-dead' liberalism behind and converted to Conservatism.
Liberals, still 'brain-dead' after all this time.

ReplyDeleteAnonymous @ 1:15 PM..
same here!!
whereas Reps seem to be suffering from RHINOISM, the Dems have already converted to SOCIALISM.. hence, the only "change" we the people need is a new Congressional regime.. and albeit many Reps have already been scrubbed, there's still some cleaning up to do.. however, we have a much longer way to go with the Dems in order to revert the "party no more" back to the days of J & R FK..

"Politics of Fear"
ReplyDeleteThe not-so profound statement favored by Obama and leftists alike, is nothing more than an attempt to delegitimize any legitimate concerns expressed with regards to foreign policy and the cadres of radical Islamists that would seek the destruction of the western world as we know it.
Rather then engaging in a sincere debate, Senator Obama would rather hide behind this simplistic phrase as an answer to all.
And as noted by previous commenters, leftists have no problem employing the "politics of fear" when it comes to abortion, the economy, global warming, social security, and any number of other issues. Utilizing the tactics of Obama, any concern ever expressed on any of these issues should simply be dismissed as "politics of fear."

[Rather then engaging in a sincere debate, Senator Obama would rather hide behind this simplistic phrase as an answer to all.]
using Obama et al logic..
that's precisely how our enemies (Islamists) have been and are managing to disintegrate "freedom of speech" in Democracies via riots & threats against anything (ie: cartoons) Muhammed/ Islam..
i've been saying that the enemy w/in are just as dangerous, if not moreso, to US than our external enemies for quite some time.. and now i can offer you the Marxist puppet Obama as proof..
