Now, you find out that the worst White House Press Secretary in history is also a disloyal "snitch."
He could have waited until Bush left office. His book still would have been a best seller. But, instead, he released it now.
Who would have guessed this worm would one day come back and bite Bush in the b***s.
The Washington Post reported:
Former White House press secretary Scott McClellan writes in a new memoir that the Iraq war was sold to the American people with a sophisticated "political propaganda campaign" led by President Bush and aimed at "manipulating sources of public opinion" and "downplaying the major reason for going to war."Exit Question: Will the pathetically weak Democrats call for impeachment now?
McClellan includes the charges in a 341-page book, "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception," that delivers a harsh look at the White House and the man he served for close to a decade. He describes Bush as demonstrating a "lack of inquisitiveness," says the White House operated in "permanent campaign" mode, and admits to having been deceived by some in the president's inner circle about the leak of a CIA operative's name.
The book, coming from a man who was a tight-lipped defender of administration aides and policy, is certain to give fuel to critics of the administration, and McClellan has harsh words for many of his past colleagues. He accuses former White House adviser Karl Rove of misleading him about his role in the CIA case. He describes Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as being deft at deflecting blame, and he calls Vice President Cheney "the magic man" who steered policy behind the scenes while leaving no fingerprints.
McClellan stops short of saying that Bush purposely lied about his reasons for invading Iraq, writing that he and his subordinates were not "employing out-and-out deception" to make their case for war in 2002.
In the least they should hold some show trials for the TV cameras.
Exit Question 2: Will this further damage the White House or Republicans?
Exit Question 3: Does anyone else see an brand new media darling?
UPDATE: For some reason the media ignored the Ari Fleischer book on the White House.
More: Michelle Malkin has this from Scott McClellan's earlier days with the White House:
Reader Kevin B. e-mails what McClellan said in his press briefing on March 22, 2004 when asked about Richard Clarke’s book blasting the Bush Administration for 9/11 and CIA intelligence failures:MR. McCLELLAN: Well, why, all of a sudden, if he (Richard Clarke) had all these grave concerns, did he not raise these sooner? This is one-and-a-half years after he left the administration. And now, all of a sudden, he’s raising these grave concerns that he claims he had. And I think you have to look at some of the facts. One, he is bringing this up in the heat of a presidential campaign. He has written a book and he certainly wants to go out there and promote that book.Pot. Kettle.

excerpt:
[These, then, are the urban legends we must counter, else falsehoods become conventional wisdom. And what a strange world it is: For many antiwar critics, the president is faulted for the war, and he, not the former dictator of Iraq, inspires rage. The liberator rather than the oppressor provokes hatred. It is as if we have stepped through the political looking glass, into a world turned upside down and inside out.]
what the fascist left have been aiming for is to "equate" good with evil.. that's the only way they can appease their conscience in face of the harsh reality they are trying to escape from because it does not fit in with their ideological utopian matrix.. if there is no good vs evil, then all is good even if the all is evil..
that is the bass ackwards mindset of the anti-cult..

ReplyDeletere: the farcical Plame case..
Trial in Error
the following debunks both McClellan absurdities..
Plame and the 'Bush Lied' Meme
excerpts:
[But investigations by the Senate Intelligence Committee; the Robb-Silberman Commission on prewar intelligence, and the British Butler Commission all concluded it was Mr. Wilson who was not telling the truth. Saddam had indeed tried to buy uranium in Africa, as even Mr. Wilson himself had acknowledged to the CIA officers who debriefed him after his Niger trip.]
[Mr. Fitzgerald knew in his first few days on the job that Mr. Armitage was the leaker; that the leak was inadvertent, and that the Intelligence Identities Act hadn't been violated. Yet he has persisted in a sham prosecution.]

"worm" is the correct description of this double chinned slug creep.
ReplyDeleteNot only the worst Press Secretary in the history of the White House, but one of the most disengenuous sleeze balls to walk the planet.
Enjoy the fat check you glutonous fat worm.
Weak, incompetent, foolish, intensely disloyal . . . I think Fredo Corleone the best analogy. He best beware of offers to go fishing.
ReplyDeleteI've left a fitting tribute to Scott, here.

I guess Scott sold his soul to the devil. What a traitor! Besides who cares what the worst Press Secretary in all of history has to lie about anyway!
ReplyDeleteFWIW His Mother, Carole Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn was a Democrat before she was a Republican before she was a Independent. She would change Parties to win elections. I guess being a turncoat runs in the family.

heh-heh-heh...don't you just love how wing nuts snitch out McClellan's mother for being an 'gasp' independent or democrat. No loyalty among thieves, so they say...guess the proof has finally arrived. I can't wait for the War Crimes trials, how 'bout you boys?

chauvinist!!

McCellan's father also wrote a book.
ReplyDeleteIt claimed VP Johnston at the time had Kennedy assasinated. Like Father like son. Scott fell not far from the conspiracy tree and sensationalist book writing traditions of his father.
Conspiracy being a family tradition. To bad his father didn't write about Ted's Mary Jo case.
Scott was the worst White House Press Secretary I've ever seen. I'd cringe every moment he'd guffaw and genuflect to the Press.
Bush has himself to blame for being to loyal in cases like this to people that under perform. But it is loyalty that also served him well at times. No one can be perfect. But it was sure good to see Scott go and Tony replace him.
Perino is doing a good job as well not taking flack and putting right back into the weasel left press corp.
I guess you're not from Texas tarheel or you would realize how much Scott's mother messed up this state when she was in office! As Mayor, as Comptroller, as Railroad Commissioner, etc. Sheesh! Get a grip, it's not about political Parties, it's about not being able to be loyal to just ONE!

Richard Clarke [2002]
excerpt:
[JIM ANGLE: You're saying that the Bush administration did not stop anything that the Clinton administration was doing while it was making these decisions, and by the end of the summer had increased money for covert action five-fold. Is that correct?
CLARKE: All of that's correct.]
...
ANGLE: Now the five-fold increase for the money in covert operations against Al Qaeda — did that actually go into effect when it was decided or was that a decision that happened in the next budget year or something?
CLARKE: Well, it was gonna go into effect in October, which was the next budget year, so it was a month away.
QUESTION: That actually got into the intelligence budget?
CLARKE: Yes it did.
QUESTION: Just to clarify, did that come up in April or later?
CLARKE: No, it came up in April and it was approved in principle and then went through the summer. And you know, the other thing to bear in mind is the shift from the rollback strategy to the elimination strategy. When President Bush told us in March to stop swatting at flies and just solve this problem, then that was the strategic direction that changed the NSPD from one of rollback to one of elimination.]
this is no longer available, but here you go anyways..
Al Qaeda absent from final Clinton report
[The final policy paper on national security that President Clinton submitted to Congress — 45,000 words long — makes no mention of al Qaeda and refers to Osama bin Laden by name just four times.]

What's great is that stuff like this will continue to come out, and soon Bush and his ilk will be thrown in jail. Hopefully someone will waterboard them, too.
