First General Election Ad
Here is a frame from Obama's very first general election ad:
Obama says that he "extended healthcare for wounded troops that had been neglected" and cited Public Law 110-181 as proof of this.
The problem is: Obama didn't show up to vote. Only 9 senators voted the bill down or did not show up to vote.
Obama was one of the 9.
The bill passed the senate 91 to 3... without Obama's vote.

I will be surprised by the DNC when they actually endorse the Constitution and renounce Marx.
I will be surprised by McCain when he takes on Mark Shields' scoff at Obama by taking a polygraph to prove his stance on immigration reform pro-citizen and con-illegal-alien.
I will be pleasantly surprised by McCain when he takes on Fred Thompson's conservative platform for his own campaign to win a victory for America!
I will be surprised by the RNC when they actually endorse the Constitution instead of the RINO platform.
And of course he's now stuck in perhaps the hugest lie of his career with his remarks of approval for the House of Rep. FISA/telcom immunity bill -- we shall see if he joins to filibuster the Senate version, but the way Obama says it, it looks like he will not, just that he's promising to fix it somewhow when he becomes President (all of which just makes the whole matter worse rather than better -- because supporting the FISA bill is supporting letting the legislative branch act like the judiciary and violate the Constitution; while promising to fix it in the executive, via signing statements or whatever, is allowing the executive to act like the legislative, also in violation of the Constitution; it's all a big mess).
ReplyDeleteObama's base is seriously pissed as it just proves Obama's a fraud when it comes to "change", just the same old politician. If Obama doesn't want his supporters to stay home from the polls or go third candidate, he's going to have to reverse his reversal on FISA.
How could he move welfare workers to jobs? Welfare reform was before he was elected to the senate and when did he ever cut any taxes? The man's a liar through and through.

ReplyDeleteSorry but Obama was not a sponsor or a cosponsor of H.R. 4986 which became Public Law 110-181.
Some of his provisions made it into law but not in the original bills.
So he didn't sponsor it. He didn't vote for it. So for him to take credit for it is dubious at best.
The only two other laws he cites is in regards to Illinois legislation, not federal.
But let's face it. He doesn't have that much federal experience and much of this year has been spent on the campaign trail, not in his Senate seat.
