Norman ThomasColumnist, journalist and author George Will described this week on how Democrats from this current manufactured crisis hope to take over the oil industry on Hannity and Colmes this week:
U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948
The American Thinker
(2 minutes in length)
George Will explains this fact about ANWR that you rarely, if ever, hear from the media:
"ANWR is about the size of South Carolina. The drilling footprint would be about the size of the Boston airport."George Will added this on the oil industry:
"Well, people are against that (drilling in America) because I believe that on the Left in this country what they want is a manufactured scarcity so that government can have the rationale to ration which gives the government what the Left wants, an ever more minute supervision of our daily choices... There's a fear that someone somewhere may make a profit... In terms of profit in terms of total income Coca-Cola made more money. So I want to hear first a windfall tax on Coca-Cola."This analysis by George Will goes right with the article today by Lance Fairchok at The American Thinker on "Why Do We Call Them 'Democrats'?"
Fairchok nails it:
We all knew it even though Democrat spokespersons denied it. Worried that the negative connotations would affect their electability and their eyes glued to the capricious winds of public opinion, they invented new words for the old ideology such as progressivism and communitarianism. Apparently, the camouflage is no longer needed. The masks are off. They now openly call for the nationalization of private business, the establishment of universal entitlements and increased taxation to pay for them. Why worry about socialist labels? The electorate is complacent, prosperity has numbed our senses and the left has worked diligently for many years to sap our national pride and deface our self-image.
Eight years into the twenty-first century, Mr. Thomas' prediction is coming perilously close to fruition; the presidential elections of 2008 may well validate his faith in "liberalism" and its Trojan horse delivery of Socialism. After decades of slow yet persistent desensitization to Socialism in our schools, in our media and in government policy, Americans are blind to its ramifications for our prosperity, our individual freedoms and our national identity.

ReplyDelete"Walt Disney World is roughly fifteen times the size of the proposed drilling area inside ANWR. Think about that. Not one. Not two. Fifteen." -- Hog On Ice.

ReplyDeletei frirmly believe the Dems are aiming to build that Empire they consistently accuse the Reps of wanting to do via electing BHO (the audacious empty suit of all stripes) as their puppet King..
["The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."]

The Republican party is the blame. Fiscal Conservatives and Libertarians are a minority, and after years of being forced to vote for "kinder and gentler" Republicans, we've move ever closer to socialist policies.
ReplyDeleteThis election should be about the ROLE OF GOVERNMENT. How big should government be? How much power should it have? Is healthcare a right? Is education a right? Is food and shelter a right? The democrats and their cronies in the MSM has convince the majortity in this country that the Federal government is one huge tit. And the Republicans stood by and let it happen.
Oblabla isn't interested in baby-steps to Marxism, he'll go for the whole package ASAP. Whipped on by Michelle.
