"Hitler did not plan to kill the Jews."
Townhall has Pat Buchanan's latest outrageous column up today.
For weeks now "conservative" Pat Buchanan in promoting his new book has been publishing articles sympathetic of the Nazis and Hitler.
But, today's article reaches a new low.
Buchanan claims that Hitler did not plan to kill the Jews but that it was a consequence of WWII, a war he blames on the Brits(?):
That Hitler was a rabid anti-Semite is undeniable. “Mein Kampf” is saturated in anti-Semitism. The Nuremberg Laws confirm it. But for the six years before Britain declared war, there was no Holocaust, and for two years after the war began, there was no Holocaust.So what exactly is he saying-- that the Holocaust only became "necessary" after the war started?
Not until midwinter 1942 was the Wannsee Conference held, where the Final Solution was on the table.
That conference was not convened until Hitler had been halted in Russia, was at war with America and sensed doom was inevitable. Then the trains began to roll.
And why did Hitler invade Russia? This writer quotes Hitler 10 times as saying that only by knocking out Russia could he convince Britain it could not win and must end the war.
Hitchens mocks this view, invoking the Hitler-madman theory.

The Holocaust was not a cause of the war, but a consequence of the war. No war, no Holocaust.

ReplyDeleteIn the 1920s Hitler said "Ziel ist die Auslöschung der Juden", which translates as "The goal is the extinction of the Jews". I forgot when exactly he said it, but I'm sure it was in the 1920s. I'd have to look up when he said it, but I think it was in 1928 or 29. Could have been earlier though. Really, I'd have to check. BTW, does this remind us of Hamas and the other islamofascist fucknuts? It sure as hell does.

Then again, I'm willing to bet that our dear Pat has never read Mein Kampf in German and that he has never listened to or read any of Adolf's speeches. I've come to the conclusion that a lot of oversea-ers haven't done that. Otherwise... why would there be so many almost worshipping the SS (most of them were murderers) and Rommel (who was usually totally confused with standard work and rather ruthless, yet he got his ass kicked by... Monty (one of the biggest morons ever, read his book about the history of warfare, it's so bad, so damn arrogant and really badly researched, I read it once and threw it away))?

ReplyDeleteThe war against the USSR was the war Adolf had wanted for a long time. It was HIS war (against what he called "Jewish Bolshewism"). After all, there were so many Jews in the east. The Wannsee conference had only one reason: how to deal with the large masses of Jews in the camps. Shooting all of them would have been very expensive (ammo doesn't grow on trees). So how to deal with them? The solution: gas (which had been tested on "lebensunwertem Leben" -usually people with mental diseases, etc- before).
It's all written in Mein Kampf. Pat Boo!-chanan, learn German and read it. It's all there.
Then we have the "Madagascar Plan" from 1940, which would have called for transporting Jews to Madagascar, lock them up into camps and let them die of starvation.
Also keep in mind the idea of the "Lebensraum im Osten", the "living space in the East" for the Aryan master race.
And I forgot that Hitler wasn't even the first one to call for the "final solution". During his time in Vienna, when he tried to get into the university here, he was massively influenced by pro-German and anti-semitic groups that existed then.
Conclusion: Buchanan is a total idiot. I shall call him Assmaster from now on.

Buchanan is full of "Scheisse." Executions of Jews are definitely documented to have begun as early as the Polish Campaign in September 1939.
ReplyDeleteThe Wannsee Conference (20 January 1942) was not conducted to "plan the Holocaust." Hitler had already made his wishes clear months earlier--maybe even before the invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941. The purpose of the conference was more to ensure the coordination and smooth operation of the deportations and exterminations that were already taking place.
That's what Buchanan can't or won't understand:
Hitler didn't have to "plan" anything. He merely give a verbal order, to avoid any potentially incriminating documentation, then left the details to be fleshed out by only-too-capable subordinates like Heydrich and Himmler.
Buchanan was right. Hitler didn't really want to kill Jews, he just wanted to give them giant noogies. Unfortunately, the SS guys' arms got really, really tired, and so, unhappily, Hitler had to have them killed. Simple, really. If the stupid Brits and Americans hadn't forced Hitler to move so many troops against them he could have had 20 times as many camp guards giving noogies and that's as far as it would have gone.

Pat would do well to re-read "Inside The Third Reich" by Albert Speer. The nazis began rounding up 'undesirables' like gypsies, homosexuals and the mentally-infirmed long before the war began and first attempted to put pressure on the Jews to simply leave. But his intent from the very beginning was to create a nation of pure Germans. It began as a small effort that expanded as events allowed to prevent world outrage.

ReplyDeleteYep and, in light of this crazy Buchanan, any time the mob at LGF is confronted with having to discuss anything outside their groupthink, for example, Intelligent Design vs Darwinism they talk as if they're more than eager to round those creationist and gas them in gulags.
I don't go to church and am not a scientist however any attempt to question Darwin's theory of evolution seems to propel them into apes going ape-shit crazy over a debate.
God forbid, they ever have to deal with any discussion of possible genocide as it applies to unresponsive governments who do not provide security nor law for their citizens; they've already have established in their minds that, of course, any European 'right-winger' implied in the assumption is 'whitey (who is actually a Spandards)discussing Europe's cultural suicide and the possible implications of such path is deem evil and banned from their discussion. It was awful how Charles treated Gates of Vienna particularly since the folks at Gates of Vienna offers broad-minded exploratation into a very complex and incressingly dangerous problem.

ReplyDeleteHitler's problem was that he simply hadn't settled on the most efficient industrial model to do it. He was extremely fond of factory like operations even if he hated the capitalist industrialists. His other problem was that not everyone bought his total ideology. They might have liked some of his policies on economy and military, but there was no way for him just to come into office and suddenly start killing people out in cold daylight while peace was still on.
People might have gotten the wrong idea. It was quietly, quietly first. Then there was the cover of war that allowed him to switch to outright murder in broad daylight. Who was going to tell? Buchanan has the wrong impression that this was "new" because he hadn't switched until the real shooting started, but it wasn't because he didn't plan it or want it or were forced to it, its because the opportunity presented itself in the guise of war.
Once Hitler determined that such trenches and bullet massacres were slowing down his main army, using ammo and effecting his army (no, not all German soldiers were automatons who loved war), he switched to ghettos and death camps.
buchanan keeps looking for the excuse for the holocaust. the end is, there is no excuse. None.
That's what makes Buchanan so reprehensible.
