Pfleger says he is not racist:
Right.
Pfleger also says he's received more than 3,000 angry emails (moonbat Obamessiah supporters?) in the last week.
He says they want to kill him (sounds like moonbat Obamessiah supporters).
Pfleger didn't seem to mind it when he was the one making the death threats.
The AP reported:
The Chicago priest whose comments about Hillary Rodham Clinton reignited the controversy over Barack Obama's former church has apologized to his parishioners.Father Pfleger also posted an online apology at the St. Sabina Church website.
At his own church Sunday, the Rev. Michael Pfleger said he isn't racist or sexist. He said the past few days have been the most painful of his life.
Pleger said he's received more than 3,000 angry and threatening e-mails since he was a guest preacher at Trinity United Church of Christ last Sunday. During that sermon, Pfleger, a Catholic priest, pretended he was Clinton crying over "a black man stealing my show."
In the apology, Pfleger said the sermon included theatrics he often uses while preaching.
Here is that apology:
Last Sunday, I was invited by Trinity United Church of Christ to come and preach on the topic of race.Oh, brother.
I agreed to do so because of my love for Trinity, Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Rev. Otis Moss, III and because all my life I have sought to deal with the reality of racism. As I said, Last Sunday, I have committed myself to tear down the walls that divide us wherever they stand.
In 1966, as a junior in high school, amidst all the hate and meanness that surrounded me in Marquette Park, I heard more than the voice of Dr. king calling for community over chaos. I heard that small voice from within, that said, I am showing you this now, because you must spend your life trying to eradicate this.
The last few days have been the most painful days of my life, even more so than the murder of Jarvis, my foster son.
For years I have had to deal with media that have sought to define me and often times put me into their box or stereotype.
But that was the cost of being a public figure and for fighting in public battles. But this was a new level, when the world is meeting you for the first time from a dramatization in a sermon that I felt was in the sacredness of a sanctuary, among people who know me and then find a “Youtube” that in no way defines the sermon or the message that I preached, nor the person or pastor that I am. It is painful and shattering.
It is painful that as a result of this video over 3,000 email of hate, threats, and name calling, who go so far as to ask you to kill yourself or take your life, greet you in less than 24 hours, and you are bombarded by mean hateful and racial name calling, yes, it is very painful.
It is also grieving to me when a 1.5 minute “Youtube” video becomes the headlines across the world of papers and news stations, while the tragedy and death of earthquakes, cyclones, and tornadoes that have taken lives of people around this world, while the killing of our children across the country and here in Chicago, and the easy access to guns have become stories on page 18 and 19, and while people are at my front door, looking for food to eat or gas to get to work, indeed that grieves me.
Brothers and sisters, racism is an explosive and sensitive sin in our world and it is against the command to love, and against the God of love.
I said on Thursday, I apologize for words that I chose. I apologize for my dramatization that was for many who do not know me, simply typical dramatics I often use in sermons.
I apologize for anyone who was offended and who thought it to be mockery, that was not my intent, nor my heart.
For whatever damage that was caused to any human being and for any offense felt, especially to any of the candidates or their families, I am deeply sorry and I pray that my apology will be accepted even by those who say they won’t accept it.
I am neither a racist nor a sexist. I am constrained by this great Gospel that I have been called to preach, to be an agent of reconciliation, as well as a truth teller.
However - we must, if we are to move forward and become who God has called us to be as a human family, we must be willing to have an honest and open discussion on race and justice, and it must be on the equal ground at the foot of Calvary.
De-Nile is not just a river in Africa, Father.
Are we starting to see a pattern?
-- Preacher spouts off racist & hateful anti-white attacks from the Trinity altar.
-- Hate-filled "sermon" make headlines from Sioux City, Iowa to Sunshine, Florida.
-- Preacher says he has been victimized, that the media used "snippets"
-- We all get lectured that we need to have a "discussion on race."
-- Blah... Blah... Blah...
It didn't work too well when Obama tried it, either.
More... Pfleger didn't quit preaching against Hillary last week at Trinity, he continued the "discussion on race" when he got back home.
UPDATE: According to insiders Barack Obama DID NOT REBUKE his racist church in his breakup with Trinity UCC yesterday.
Obama did not denounce it, either.
UPDATE 2: Amy Proctor is right. Fr. Pfleger should be excommunicated. He is a disgrace to the Catholic Church... And, Cardinal George from Chicago should also be disciplined for not dealing with this nutjob.
He can apologize all he wants to but the words are out there and can't be taken back. They will always be remembered long after the apologty is forgotten. That's how the left operates. However, it is fun watching the left eat its own.
ReplyDeleteHe didn't seem to mind death threats when he was the one making them, threatening to "snuff out" a lawful gun dealer. And since he made his threat while surrounded by a bunch of ex-cons from the Nation of Islam, his threat was probably scarier than the ones he's now receiving.

ReplyDeleteGAH!!
i am so sick of these anti-race & country preachers twisting the results of their hate speeches into being all about them & "their pain".. they are not the "victims" of their own hatred.. those who listen to & heed these false propheteers sermons are the "victims" of their hate speech, not to mention their intended "victims" who are White & American!!
GAH!!

ReplyDeleteStrap yourselves in and secure any breakable items, the Democratic party is about to implode along with any chances of Obama getting elected to anything outside of Chicago.
The video of Michell racist ranting about all us "dumb redneck crackers" is about to come out.
This is going to be so much fun to watch because all that bad karma the Democrats have been building up for decades is about to catch up with them.
The two good things that are coming out of all this is that the "race" card is dead and the "victim" card is on life support. Both of these cards torn to shred by the people who invented them-the LLL's and the Democrats.
RE: video of Michelle O ranting about crackers.
ReplyDeleteI assumed this was just a figment of moonbat Larry Johnson's wild imagination. Do you really have trustworthy info that such a tape exists?
Even if it does, I don't see why it would come out in the near future. If Republicans have it, they should wait until after the Dem convention when it too late for the dems to go with Hillary. If Hillary has it, she can play the "good loser" for a couple of months, campaigning for Obama and getting his people to help pay off her campaign debt. Then she drops it right before the convention.
The only person who would drop it now would be ... Obama.
Speaking of left-wing preachers who incite hate and encourage paranoia, does anybody remember Father Coughlin? We've seen this evil before.

ReplyDeletepst314 @ 2:18 PM..
i'm sure Father Coughlin got just as much flak back in the day as Pfleger et al are getting in the here & now.. so what's the point??

Pfleger: "I apologize for anyone who was offended and who thought it to be mockery, that was not my intent, nor my heart."
ReplyDeleteSo if he didn't intend to mock Sen. Clinton, why did he assume her persona that was in effect a caricature? Why did he mimic her crying on television? If those things don't comprise mockery for Fr. Pfleger, then I'd like to know what his definition of mockery is.

One step is missing. The obligatory wow is me, I'm the victim, not the people I pointed my racist finger at meme.
ReplyDeleteAdd between 2 & 3 step,
That Pfleger is truly the victim, not anyone else. The outside world simply does not understand him or blacks as the victim and that his words were "taken out of context" and if only we'd walked in his shoes, we would all understand.
I wonder how his foster child was murdered. By greedy whites? Since he brought it up as part of his victimology meme it would be interesting to know. While we can certainly feel emotions and empathy for a loss of anyones life, there is no way any of us should feel guilt according to Pfleger.
Ah, here is the story from 1998. Jarvis was murdered by gangs near the church. Now I wonder how many "white" gangs are near his church in a southside black neighborhood?
And I wonder how many blacks step forward in that neighborhood to cooperate with cops on a daily basies to run the drugs and gangs out of their streets and city?
Anyone who knows anything about Hip Hop, Gang violance know that no one does anything to help the police. The police are seen as the enemy and no one "snitches" against the gangs or anyone for murder.
Their problems are their own. Until they are willing to clean up, work with community police and run the gangs out of their neighborhoods, stop the drugs, demand clean streets, demand drug houses be shut down, demand a policy of no compromise for their children to live safely then they will never have true freedom.
What "white person" can still be blamed for a black neighborhood? This is beyond old race-baiting news. You ran the cops out. You listen to leftist idiots who say "Whitey" is to blame, you demand welfare, demand food stamps, demand free housing, demand that all your problems are due to "whitey" and then sit in squalor, complaining, whining and justifying drunks, drugs, disease and murder all due to "whitey."
The victim meme is over. Stand up, form neighborhood watch groups, buy weapons to keep drug runners and gangs out, force more cops to actually live in your areas and setup temporaray COIN police stations directly withing each community only a few blocks from each home so you can immediately call and report criminals, thieves and drug dealers, pimps and pushers. If you can't do that, or you cannot get people to come together and trust the police to work with you to help clean up your community then move the hell out! Get your kids out of the pit!
And stop listening to liberals who whine, point fingers and yet do nothing at all to the criminals who kill you!
Morons like Pfleger are the reason their communities are in trouble. They whine, point fingers at "whitey" while black murder blacks. And overwhelmingly blacks murder whites. Someone please wake me up the day Pfleger points a finger at blacks and tells them to stop murdering whites.
The Nation of Islam is no answer either. It is built upon hatred. Until black leaders who believe in positive, uplifting values without pointing fingers at "whitey" for all their problems rise up in communities like this, they will continue to live in misery. Until more black leaders like Cosby, Michael Steele, Lynn Swan, Condi Rice, Colin Powell and so many others rise up and say no more to black gangs and drugs, and disrepect of authority like police who can protect them, then they will continue to live in misery.
That is not my fault, anyone's fault, "white greed" fault, or Republicans fault. It is their own fault. STop blaming others for the miserable company that you keep. Make a change or get out of the hell hole and stop whining.
Like Rip van Winkle, it will be a long, long sleep I think before race-baiters like Pfleger, Wright, Sharpton, and Jackson change their stripes.
And lest anyone think we do not have empathy for the conditions in these neighborhoods, that is completely false. Most of the money that supports the free meals, welfare, shelters, clothing that come into these communities are from majority white population tax dollars or thru charities established long ago by the very "evil whitey" Pfleger so detest.
Hypocrite! Liar! And beguiler!

re: [I wonder how his foster child was murdered.]
flashback to 12/24/04
excerpt:
[That's what the Rev. Michael Pfleger, the activist pastor of Chicago's St. Sabina Roman Catholic Church and die-hard peacenik in question, asked himself when his eldest son, 30-year-old Lamar Michael Pfleger, called home in late August to say he'd enlisted.
"When he first told me that this was something he had made a decision to do, I was shocked, I have to admit that," Mike Pfleger told me this month as the three of us -- Mike in his black-on-black priestly garb and worried expression, Lamar in his new Army fatigues with the word PFLEGER printed in black, capital letters over his right chest -- chatted at the St. Sabina's parsonage, where Lamar grew up after Pfleger adopted him 21 years ago.
"He basically told me after he'd enlisted," the elder Pfleger said. "He knew where I stood, but he'd made up his mind."
[snip]
"If he does, I'll continue to pray for his safety, no matter where he is," the priest said. "You don't have to be in Iraq to get maimed or killed. It can happen on a street. My youngest son, Jarvis, died here, three blocks away from here. So I know that harm or danger or death can come anywhere."
(Pfleger's foster son Jarvis was killed in gang
crossfire seven years ago at the age of 17.)]
it is very sad the way Jarvis died.. :(
God Bless U.S. Army Pvt. Lamar Pfleger!! (thumbsup)

The social issue of crime is not poverty of economy. Nor is it due to evil "white greed."
ReplyDeleteIt is poverty of morality. The lack of authentic values passed down from one generation to another. It happens in all segments of society and crosses all ethnic boundaries.
The lack of good father figures and the evicseration of family values is at the very base of problems in urban areas. The moral decay of a society that looks up to hip hop gangs and down on the value of stay home Moms or a Father who works a normal job for a living. Where preachers lead the sheep with false message based upon coveting others riches, instead of preaching on the value of enjoying the work you do and the blessings you have already in life, that of lovingkindness for all people and a responsibility to remove criminals from among them.
In their victimology beliefs enforced by leftist, pacifist, or communist like Willam Ayers, they call for the release of criminals by the evil police, or evil "whitey" and then those very same criminals turn around, pimp their daughters, murder and destroy families.
They refuse to break the cycle of violence and victimology.
This problem expanded with all the other problems in our society in the 60s. When drug dealers enabled by Communist from Russia/Cuba began mass shipments of pot and cocaine into our country and the liberal professors on the left encouraging our youth to experiment with all things in life. One even making and distributing LSD.
This is the Lefts calling in which they always excuse their own weakness and foibles and inability to recognize wrong from right, good from evil. That drugs bring criminals and criminals bring stealing and death. They refuse to connect the two. Instead they want to go farther left, legalizing drugs is the solution.
Thus George Soros and Open Society. They want to turn every single city into another Amsterdam with prostitutes in the windows and free needles for heroine addicts. It is a solution of madness by the mad who reject all that is decent in life.
BTW! Did anyone read that Sors is behind the book company that published McCellen's book?
BG,
ReplyDeleteThands for that article and yes, Bless Lamar. He is one brave individual despite Pfleger's influence. Proof that one can rise out of the gridlock and insanity of leftist politics.
Bless southside Chicago as well and may they get new leaders for true change that teaches accountability. Pfleger is not the only one that cares or prays for people to have a better day. Nor is he the only white to take action, bleed, or cry in despair for the suffering of others.
He is like most preacher prima donna's a whore for the limelight. Seeking attention for his works as if he himself is a great martyr. This to is against the teachings of Christ.
I've seen Christians of all colors in black neighborhoods helping in good faith and charity. None of them seeking the limelight like Pfleger. Hundreds of thousands of white couples seek to adopt black children, but the state government or leftist liberal idiots seek to stop it!
I refuse to allow Pfleger to represent people as evil "whitey" I've volunteered myself in communities with high crime, poverty, drugs in my past when my job allowed time and I was in town. Or I have given to charities that directly support poverty striken areas. I learned this from my evil "white" family and normal Christian values to help others.
This is not to toot my own horn, but to show that millions do give and care to poor communities unlike the rambling remarks of Pfleger. Otherwise millions of dollars would not flow thru Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Methodist, Baptist, etc., that are always giving every single day. The vast overhwelming majority of charities are funded, supplied by evil "whitey" for all people in this country and around the world in Africa and Asia without any conern for color.
This large scale demonization of whites is no longer tolerable. Playing the race card is no longer acceptable on large scale political issues. There are racist of all colors and there are charlatans that prey upon racial issues like Pfleger. The Democrats are largely to blame.
But so to are Republicans for not directly going into these areas more often despite being villified and damned by men like Pfleger. McCain took a good step going into Selma, AL. Republicans need to stop being afraid of Democrat slurs and slanders and race baiters. And go into the communities to provide real solutions that the Democrats have not done in over 50 years!
I've been to black churches, know a black preacher personally. The preachers and people I know did not attribute their problems to "whitey" and were genuinely glad for the charity they received by any and all people.
If anything, shining light on Marxist black theology's ugly roots is a good thing for our society. We now see what happens when Marxist Communism infiltrates our churches.
We do need to know that there are many more race pimps than we suspected feeding upon the poor, antagonizing them into resentment and false teachings.
Sharpton and Jackson are merely the tip of the iceberg.
We are not dumb to the issues in black neighborhoods. We've known about it and tried our best to work with solutions for many years as "whitey" with blacks. Yet time and again, people like Wright, Sharpton, Jackson, Moss, Frank Davis, James Cone, demonize anyone for daring to reach out in an act of kindness. Don't trust "whitey" they'll say.
So now the ugly truth is out of the bag. Blacks have racist among them too and the whole world sees it. Pfleger is a "typical racist pimp" preacher.
To paraphrase the mockery and idiocy of someone like Pfleger, "Oh my, look who is coming to dinner! Whitey done come home to help us poor blacks. Like we need whitey to tell us how to live! Whitey go home! We're smart enough to take care of ourselves. Don't bring your evil white greed into this house! No, no! We aren't your slave anymore! Leave that money at the door whitey, we know what to do with it!"
That is the message of men like Pfleger. It is an abomination.
Chuckles...
ReplyDeleteGP, forgot to award you with an LOL on Soux City and Sunshine!
Haha...
Pfleger needs to be excommunicated. He's causing scandal within the Catholic Church and supports abortion. As a priest, that is an excommunicable offense. What are the Cardinals waiting for?
ReplyDeleteHe has a WEIRD bio. This from his bio page:
In 1981, Father Pfleger became the proud adoptive father of an eight-year-old son, Lamar. In 1992, he also became the adoptive father of Beronti, who is presently a student at University of Central Florida. In 1997, he became a foster father to Jarvis Franklin, who was tragically killed as a result of gang crossfire, May 30,1998.
Now, I know 99% of priests are not pediphiles and that isn't the point, but you have to wonder if his adoptive son was running on the wrong side of the tracks.
Thanks Joshua.
ReplyDeleteI added the step.
I wonder what Jesus would say about all this... :(
